Lightening to 30-pin adapter delivery date?!

Am I right in thinking that I need to order a lightening to 30-pin adapter in order to charge my iphone 5 (ordered this morning)? That would be ok if it were not for the delivery estimate of October?! How am I supposed to charge my iphone if it delivers on promised launch date 21/9?
Sorry if I'm missing a trick here, just wondered if any knew?
*update* Can I just use my macbook pro to charge it?

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter ship date?

Antone have an idea when the 30 pin adapter will ship? I ordered 2 from the apple store but still no mention of a shipping date? couldn't find any in any authorized apple dealer. haven't made it to a apple store yet.
    Are they even available?

The whole switch is irritating.  The latest release of the iphone looks slapped together and it doesn't reflect the reputation that Apple built it's empire on.  Apple was supposed to be the company where if you spent an extra few bucks, the quality of hardware and support was unsurpassed.  Now, they are looking very typical when it comes to other electrontics companies.  I've only recently bought a couple of Apple products, but it's impossible for me to understand the unconditional support that people have given them in the past.  It shows that they were truely an innovative and caring company when you look at their fans.  However, Apple is resting on its laurels.
Please show me that the recent iPhone 5 is not a bait and switch for accessories.  Please get the adapters out to market.  Please respond to our frustrations at the $30 price tag and proprietary nature.  Please show us that this isn't a slapped together, half-baked operation.  How many months were you guys working on this?  Maybe you should have made it micro-USB?  You are neither adapting or innovating...which is not a good sign.
Apple stock was supposed to hit $1,000 a share by the end of this year.  It's looking more like Apple/Icarus are heading in Hewlett-Packard's direction.

  • HT1665 lightening to 30-pin Adapter charges my Ipad Air VERY slowly; why is that?

I purchased an Apple, Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, to convert my current charger, to one that will charge my Ipad Air.  When I try to charge my Ipad Air, using this Adapter, it does charge, but at a VERY slow pace!  Is that normal, or is something wrong with it?

    How slow is "VERY slow?"

  • HT4060 Lightening to 30-Pin Adapter wont charge iPad

I have the 30-pin to USB cable from the iPhone 4 and a 30-pin to lightening adapter but this wont charge my iPad. If I use the lightening cable in the same USB port it charges fine. Any explanations?

You should only use the wall charger to charge the iPads battery.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • Lightening to 30 pin adapter not working, but was working before

I have a 7th generation ipod nano. I have a lightening adapter that was working with an older system and now is no longer recognizing the device. I am getting the infamous not compatible message. Any ideas?

Well I was wrong it's got nothing to do with software or a problem with the iPhone 5S, it's the adapter hardware.
I went to the Cribbs Causeway store and was able to replicate the error message on the demo iPhones plugging in the adapter i purchased. So I was given a replacement, tried that with same result on my 5s and the demo phones. Then tried another taken off the shelf just like the previous one and voila it worked. It turns out based on the comments of the guy who served me, that they had seen a few instances of this issue.
I had already logged a case with Apple and they are sending me another cable FOC they are going to try to establish the batches of these adapters that have this problem as they suspect a manufacturing problem
SO, if you have this issue with a recently purchased adapater just take it back to the Apple Store and ask for a replacement.

  • Can I connect my iPad mini to a data projector using a lightning to 30-pin adapter connected to a 30-pin to VGA connector? Or will this only work with a lightning to VGA connector.

Can I connect my iPad mini to a data projector using a lightning to 30-pin adapter connected to a 30-pin to VGA connector? Or will this only work with a lightning to VGA connector?

The lightning to 30 pin adapter does not support video as per the item description in the Apple online store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter
This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.
You will need to the Lightning to VGA adapter directly
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD825ZM/A/lightning-to-vga-adapter?fnode=3a
Or the Lightning Digital AV Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
If the projector supports HDMI input.

  • Why is lightning to 30 pin adapter still not available in november

iPhone 5 (and lightning) launch was in september and the apple site said that adapters would be shipping in october. This is now november and the site still says shipping in 5-7 days. How was this overlooked during the iphone 5 production? No one at apple thought until september that people might need/want a lightning to 30 pin adapter for all the 30 pin accessories collected for various ios devices over the past 10 years?
I've never been a fan of iOS but have always liked apple hardware and the fact that music syncing to ipods and iphones is so simplified (on android, you have to jump through a few hoops and there's still no good car integration for android, probably to fragmentation of android device manufacturers) and the fact that it's not difficult to find an iphone car solution (beyond aux port or fm xmitter). But this sudden change in charging/data port should have been planned much better esp coming from a company of apple's caliber.
I guess I'm just wondering if there is a good answer for such a lack of availability of such a ubiquitous accessory. $200-400 for a phone from a company with $100 billion in cash and I don't even have the option to get my hands on an adapter in stores over a month later. Any explanations from apple or other apple device users would be much appreciated to quell my frustration.

Hi - sorry but this is a user to user forum - there is no way of knowing why Apple is doing what they do - and they don't monitor this forum either - so the only way to answer your questions is to contact Apple Support directly at - http://www.apple.com/support/contact/ - or you can register your opinions at -

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter Availability

Not only is it disgusting that we now have to purchase the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter to get the phone to work with all of our other systems, Bose sound system, car connection etc  But Apple dont release anywhere near enough of them to cope with the demand.  Also they have put some sort of chip in it to restrict any other manufacturer from making an equivalent.
Come on Apple your products are good but not that good and potentially you will not be the richest company in the world for much longer.

I Agree 100%. I have been an apple user for many years. Everythig at work / home is apple sofware and hardware. I develop for iOS and have purchased every iPhone up-to-date. I have never had an issue with apple until now, and have always stood loyal to them even when people around me doubted... but now? Not so much. I am starting to lose faith in this company with the mistakes they are making. Remember the blackberry? This is how it all started. ******* people off one bit at a time. Why did we not recieve the Lightning adapter with our iPhone 5's? Because Apple was too eger to get the phone out the door for their 4th quarter. Why do we have to pay for it? Because Apple decided to put way to much thought into something so darn simple. Why is there no availablity? Because Apple simply does not care if I can use my iPhone in my car or with my home stereo system... They already made their 900 bucks off me. Why are they the richest company in the world? Because Steve Jobs was running their company... Do you think he would have allowed this to happen? I doubt it. He knew how to take care of his customers. I will continue to use Apple products until something better comes along, and so will everyone else, but when that "something better" comes along, Apple will no longer be the wealthiest company in the world and will be thinking "What happened?" just like RIM is.

  • Can you use an iPhone 5 and the lightning to 30 pin adapter with the Scosche IPNRFCS wireless Car RF remote?

I'd like to use this remote for my iphone 5 in my car to listen to music. The iphone will be plugged  into the stereo and be stowed away but I want a way to change the song because my stereo doesnt allow complete ipod control. Can i use the 30 pin adapter with this remote to hook the wireless adapter for the remote to the iphone? So i guess what im asking is does the lightning to 30 pin adapter support whatever kind of data is going between the iphone and wireless remote adapter? If not are there any good alternatives out there? Thanks!

I am pretty sure that will not work.  Does your TV have HDMI?  You will need this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter?fnode=4 5&fs=m.iphoneCompatibility%3Diphone_5
The adapter your purchased has this note :
This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Supports analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.

  • Lightening to 30 Pin Connector- Accessory not Supported

My Lightening to 30 PIN Apple connector is having issues with my ipod nano- 7th generation.
It keeps saying "accessory not supported"
It will randomly work (not very often anymore) and I have tried cleaning it but to no avail.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  • Delivery Date needs to be changed on Schedule lines

    Hi All-
I am using BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE, to update the delivery date on the schedule lines...If I have 2 lines of schedule, needs to be updated the second one ETENR '0002'...
Bapi returns message that successfully processed, when I go back and look at Sales order, I don't se any changes on schedule line..
I am pssing into BAPI, sales doc and schedule line with the delivery date and the flag 'U'..and also I am using BAPI commit...
But, let me know if I am missing something and also let me know is it possible to change schedule delivery date or not?
    Thanks,
    Sony

    Hi
    Please follow this process.
Only specify fields that should be changed
Select these fields by entering an X in the checkboxes
Enter a U in the UPDATEFLAG field
Always specify key fields when changing the data, including in the checkboxes
The configuration is an exception here. If this needs to be changed, you need to complete it again fully.
Maintain quantities and dates in the schedule line data.
    1. Minimum entry:
You must enter the order number in the SALESDOCUMENT structure.
You must always enter key fields for changes.
You must always specify the update indicator in the ORDER_HEADER_INX.
    2. Commit control:
The BAPI does not run a database Commit, which means that the application must trigger the Commit so that the changes are read to the database. To do this, use the BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT BAPI.
