Lightroom  4.2 and Elements 11 - 'edit in' not working

I have just installed Elements 11 and find that although that program pops up when the 'edit in' is employed, no image is transferred from Lightroom.  Is there a fix for this?

I have the same problem with PS Elements 13 trial version (fully updated), but sadly this solution doesn't work... there is no 'Support Files' folder, and nothing called 'Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor.app' anywhere else.
Any thoughts?

Adobe Elements 10 Edit in not working

It does nothing.  I click Edit in Photoshop Elements Editor and nothing happens.  I tried opening the Elements program to see if that made a difference and it did not.  I double checked my external editing preferences to make sure I had the Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor application selected and I do.    It use to work until I upgraded to LR4.  Now it no longer works.

  • Problems integrating Lightroom 4.2 and Elements 10.

I have installed Lightroom 4.2 and Elements 10.  Although I have installed it so that Elements 10 shows up in the Edit Photo menu, when I click on that it does not copy or load the photo I have edited in Lightroom into Elements. There is just an empty Elements 10 screen except that there is a dialogue box showing some of my Nik software plugins. The dialogue box does not work.  I had the edit photo in Elements 10 working in Lightroom 4.0 before I installed the upgrade. to Lightroom 4.2.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ensure you are linking to the Editor application in Lightroom preferences. A common mistake is to choose the Adobe Photoshop Elements shortcut. On Mac OSX it's in Support files.

    Hi Nealeh
Thanks i think I got it working of a fashion.
Except the replace colour, does not seem to end up with the colour I picked using the picker tool. Its as though it hads not replaced the colour but blended in the desired colour with the old incorrect colour!
Buy trial and error picking not the right colour but close - which when mixed with the existing colour is close.
Sorry I can't post the pictures as the Lingerie Mfg, has me under non disclosure.
The scenario is:-  say a blonded mainly tanned model a high cut [at the hips] corsette style basque, with an ultra low bra line.
Our dear model, has just come back from St Barts with a fabulous Tan, and equally striking bold Tan lines!.
So we have great tanned legs, then the 'porcelain white band' where her swimsuit was.
Likewise we have a tanned face, and arms, shoulders etc and a great tan on the top of the cleavage, then it stops, white band to the top of the ultralow cut bra line of the basque.
She must have lived in like the most conservative bikini on the planet [50's style], for 2 weeks!
Had she had a normal skimpy bikini on, no problem!
If i don't solve it, she will get fired!
Not a lack of interest in your post, but I was out, and tried to log in to this site; which I could do, on my iPad Air / 5 [whatever its the new one]. And tried to 'sign in' - but it just hung at the
"Join Adobe Community" adobe sign in splash screen! with he little whell spinning around continuously!!!
I have Safari on this iPad. Guess that is all it runs.
So technology is not my friend today!

  • PhotoShop Elements 9 Edit will not open.

After opening 2 or 3 images in Elements 9 edit a dialog box will come up and say "Elements is already running but is not responding close the Elements process or restart your system". I do not see where I can close the running Elements process. I have used Elements 9 for several months and have never run into this problem. Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem?

Thank you for the response. My Elements 9 Editor problem seemed to fix  its
self. After restarting the computer the Editor would open for 2 or 3 images
then refuse to open again. After the fifth restarting of the computer the
Editor  has continued to work and now seems fine. Not sure what caused the
problem  in the first place. I will use the advise given below if the problem
    starts  again.

I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Elements 9 and Elements 10 both can not find Adobe AIR although it is on my computer?

Elements 9 and Elements 10 both can not find Adobe AIR although it is on my computer?
Can someone tell me how to get Elements to recognize Adobe AIR...
I can uninstall Adobe AIR... however I cannot uninstall Elements 9... When trying to unistall Elements 9 it only lets me install it?

There is no need to uninstall earlier versions unless you are really short of disk space.
Get the latest version of AIR here:

Peter Lindgren do you receive any specific error messages when you attempt to install Photoshop 7 or Photoshop Elements?  What version of Photoshop Elements are you installing?

I had the same problem. It fixed itself when I opened Internet Explorer (I don't normally use it). I was opening Support Portal to get some support help, but I'm not sure if it was the page or simply opening IE that did the trick.

a friend of mine has the same problem - also updated from LR3 to LR4, external editor: elements 10
Which process version is the image you're trying to edit externally?
You right-click (I'm assuming PC, can't help Macs), there should be a context menu option "Edit in".  You choose that, and there's an option for Elements 10 or not?
If so, what happens when you select it?  Do you get any further message?
If not, you may have to go to Edit menu, preferences, External Editing tab and create a preset for Elements.  In the "Additional External Editor" area, click "Choose" and navigate to wherever Elements is on your machine and you can create a new external editor.

This is almost the same as the problem I had. I'm my case the Editor installed but not the Organizer! Adobe chat told me they no longer have chat or any other services for Elements 12. I guess they want people to buy their new Elements 13, but that leaves us in a bad place and doesn't say much for how Adobe cares about their customers After it moves on to their next version. I posted a message like yours over a week ago, and only got one email from an Adobe staff person, asking me to answer a couple of clarifying questions, but he never followed up on my response, so my problem is still unresolved. If you are luckier and are given a solution please let me know what it is -- it might work for me too, and I'd be very grateful!  My email:  [email protected]
    Good luck.
Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer?  It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
    <C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called:  PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website.  <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
    Hope this helps.
