Lightroom 5 Mac. Problem with the Radial Tool. I use this tool a lot. I must have hit a hot key by accident because between photos the marquee lines have disappeared and i don't know how to get them back. Without the marquee lines there I cannot rotate or expand the radial tool.

I have attempted to uninstall, empty trash and a fresh download from Adobe. The problem is still there...

CS5: Problem with the brush tool

Hi there,
I have a problem with the brush in CS5.
My system:
Win 7 Home Premium
ATI Graphics Card (Radeon HD 5770)
When I use the "Alt" key and right mouse button to change the size or the "hardness" of the current brush there is no more the red color (inside the brush) indicating the "hardness" (or the size).
I already updated the driver of my graphics card and checked the preferences (disabling and enabling OpenGL).
There were no other modifications to my system (despite Windows Updates and the Update to Camera Raw 6.4).
Any hints?

Thanks for your answer. I thought that I have used Photoshop (and the brush resize mouse command) after installing the 11.3 version of the catalyst driver. But it seems I was wrong. I will downgrade now to 11.2.

Problems with the healing tool

I am trying to create a Layer Mask in Black & White, and coloring a specific area? I had it work once, but won't work now. When I rub over the area with the healing tool, color shows, and then reverts back to black and white. Same thing happens when I use the "blur" effect, my main object reverts back to being blurry. What could I be doing wrong?

You should probably use the paint brush tool instead of the healing brush
or any filters to paint on a layer mask.

Problem with the pen tool creating a fill when I only want stroke

Hi,
I'm having an issue. I am creating a simple spider for a project. Initally I used the pen tool to make legs. It worked for a bit then all the sudden started filling in an area I didn't even draw with color. I'm not sure what I did to cause this to happen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That shape shows a Yellow fill, probably from the last shape you drew. If you select the shape and deselect the fill, then your drawing will go back to Black strokes only.

Having problem with the type tool

When I click on the type tool, I don't see the cursor like I should. Instead, I see a tiny flash, but when I type, nothing. What's wrong. Does anyone know?

You can create a new user account which when you log into it will be a fresh account and that can tell you whthether it is a preference or font corruption problme.
You should try to create a new user and log in if it still persist you might have a more serious problem. You maight have another application on your computer like a spell checker that is causing the conflict and it will have to go.

Having problems with the Fade Tool

I cannot get the fade tool to work. I don't know if I have some setting issue or I'm just plain dense. I drag it over the audio area and nothing happens. Any ideas?

Few things...
Drag it over a standard audio file (Not apple loop, MP3...- but wav, Aif are OK)
Then cover the region and some of the background of the arrange.

Help with the Spiral Tool, controlling decay

I am attempting to use the spiral tool to create a spiral that gradually increases in the size of the spacing (decay) between segments as it opens up outward. My problem with the spiral tool is that it offers little control of when, where and how much decay between segments occurs...
I've drawn an example of what I'm trying to achieve:
Abuzeedo has done something similar by "holding ALT" however I can't replicate it on my system (CS5, Mac).

There is no Alt key on mac, the equivalent is uslaly option, but most likely you are looking for CMD. The keys on the mac you want to try though are CMD, Up & Down Cursors
Click once and let go to get the options for making spiral, this will help you filgure out
To get the spider web shape, you want to afterwards
Object >> Path >> Add Anchor Point (about 2 times)
Effect >> Distort >> Pucker & Bloat (I used -10)

What is wrong with the crop tool in Photoshop CS6? (picture included)

Ever since I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and started to use the new crop tool, I get this quite interesting visual error and some artifacting.
I didn't have the problem with the crop tool in the previous versions of Photoshop.
What can be the issue?

Seems like a GPU problem. Can you try going into Photoshop Preferences, disable GPU acceleration and try if that fixes it?

Hi, I have this annoying problem with the patch tool that whenever I use it, i.e., drag the selected area to a new location it pastes the selected area as if it were smudged, such as feathered, and I practically can't use it. I have checked the selection and it is not feathered, but still, the selection being pasted is smudged. Any settings that I am not aware of?

The Patch (content aware) tool is affected by the area around your selection. To get around the problem, make a selection of the beak and he surround without the bird and put it on a separate layer as shown here. Then select the beak and apply the Patch command. Without the dark bird for reference, you will get the result you want.
