Lightroom not an option?

I just downloaded Lightroom 5.2 and it isn't showing up as an option to open pictures with. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know you can import them but on the trial version I could put in my jump drive and it would pop up asking what I wanted to open them with. Lightroom used to show up, but now it's not. Is that normal?

To build upon DJ's response:
Lightroom opens catalog files, not picture files.
It is "registered" to open such files (those ending with .lrcat) in your operating system.
Picture files are imported into the catalog (click the 'Import' button), but they aren't sucked into Lightroom's bowels (they are accessed in place on disk), do don't delete them or move them after importing.

Photoshop crashing, Lightroom not opening, help to fix please?

I paid for and downloaded Creative cloud last week, and have installed Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge. When I went to use these programs I found that Bridge works, Lightroom won't even open, and Photoshop tends to crash after 3-5seconds upon opening. There is no crash report, or any other sort of explanation, and I tried logging off of creative cloud and back on again as the solution options say to do, however this hasn't had any affect on either Lightroom or Photoshop.
Oddly enough, the Camera Raw editor will work, but when I try to open the photo into photoshop, Photoshop again closes, this time asking if I want to save changes to my image. Selecting yes allows me to save the image and then closes, selecting no closes everything.
It's very frustrating.
My computer is an HP Pavillion, I think it's a notebook, but not sure.
I'm running Windows 7 with the following processor: Intel Core i3-2310M CPU 2.10GHz
4gb RAM and a 64bit operating system.
Can someone please help me sort this out? I'd really like to be able to use what I paid for

After having contacted Adobe by phone (very professionals) i tried what
they told me to do and everything is fine now.
First i was told to run windows in "minimal" mode", that means without any
service except the microsoft ones by using msconfig.
Then install : "AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool"from Adobe; in the dos
windows chose "all", that will delete all previous install of adobe
products.
After that, you'll have to delete every adobe folder you find in this
places :
C:\Programmes\Adobe\
C:\Program Files\Adobe\
C:\Program Files (X86)\Adobe\

Lightroom not fix hot pixels from my Nikon D7100

Hi there.
I have a problem with my cam D7100: there are tons of hot/dead pixels on the sensor.
I am going to bring this cam to the service center.
But I have a lot of images captured with this cam, and need to remove hot pixels from them.
One my friend say about auto-removing in Lightroom.
So I try Lightroom 4.4, 5.0, 5.2. No one can remove hot pixels.

LR actually does more than find and repair 100% level "stuck pixels," it also finds and corrects low-level hot pixels and higher-level "random" hot pixels. The problem is that you have "many" higher level hot pixels and LR's processing algorithm thinks they're image data. A different raw processor may work better or worse. How do I tell Lightroom not to boot automatically?

When I load photos from my camera to my computer, Lightroom boots automatically and interferes with my loading. How do I tell Lightroom not to boot automatically under any circumstances? I cannot find that option in any menu.

Do one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Turn off the Adobe Photo Downloader start-up item.
1. Right-click the Adobe Photo Downloader located on the far right of the Windows Task Bar.
2. Choose Exit.
Note: This turns off the Photo Downloader for your current Windows session, only.
Solution 2: Turn off the Adobe Photo Downloader permanently.
1. Choose Start > Run, and type in msconfig. Click OK.
2. Choose the Startup tab.
3. Uncheck apdproxy. Click Apply, and then click OK. Restart Windows.

If you used iTunes to get the photos on the phone, then use the same iTunes and uncheck the music you don't want and do another sync.

Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer

We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
can you please help me out to get this option.

From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

Is there an issue with Safari in Iphones and Ipads where it does not recognize option disabled="disabled" tag properly?

I have run into a peculiar problem with the Safari browser on mobile platforms (IPad, IPod, IPhone) which I hope I can find a solution for in this community.

On this particular product, the product variants are supposed to work in such a way where:
If you select the value "1/8" from the "Choose Ribbon Width" field
THEN
The only options active and available to choose from in the "Choose Roll Size" field should be: 500 Yds, 20 Yds & Sample Swatch
Now, if we browse to the above link in Safari using a desktop or a laptop, there are no problems at all, but if we browse to the above link using an IPhone or an Ipad, then we have a problem where all the options are available regardless of the values chosen, basically the above functonality does not work.

I would suggest restarting the iPad and see if the download resumes.

Hello trying to get help with the option on auto lock (never is not on option on 4s or new I pad 2? Both are up to date with the latest 6.1.2

Just trying to get help in auto lock it is not an options for (never) on 4s or new i pad 2 both are a mirror of each other it seems I have had problems with this phone from day 1 all up dates have been installed. Calling the support line is good if you get someone that is advance and that is not worried about there call time which I may have to do however I do know that this site is great help any help will be appreciated. This is my husband phone and I pad we purchased both phones @ the same time I have his older I pad he was given a new one for work which is the latest HELP please thanks. No problems with my phone or pad.

Other than supplying the desktop "theme" (if you can call a complete lack of style along with a fair bit of inconsistency a "theme"), the OS really shouldn't be causing you to have a washed-out desktop experience. That's more a
matter of your display driver not really doing its job. What video card do you have?
FYI, one of the reasons I like Aero Glass for Win 8.1 (a 3rd party package) is that it allows me to make the desktop more pleasant to use and helps set the client areas (i.e., where work gets done) apart from the window chrome.
From what I can see, the color-management logic in Windows 8.1 is essentially unchanged from what it was in Windows 7. That there has been NO progress in this area is really a disappointment. It's an area where Microsoft has again just stopped
trying to make improvements.
If it's at all interesting to you, here's a screen grab of a REALLY cluttered up desktop. I don't normally work this way; this was an exercise to see how much I could get running. I finally gave up starting more stuff as I grew tired

I have a report with a column that uses EVALUATE function. I want to filter the results of the report by the values of this column. There's no problem when I use "is equal to/is in" option in the filter options. However with everything the same, when I try to apply "is not equal to/is not in" option I got an error message reading :

Thru note 1909504 the Function Module FI_TAX_CALCULATION was changed and caused the error on the system of my customer.
