Lightroom opens phototshop, but not image

I just updated Photoshop 2014 and Lightroom. Now when I choose "Edit In" Photoshop will open, but the image does not open. I am running Windows 8.1. Any help would be appreciated.

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" 
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" 
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Give this a try:
1 -be sure to have a current backup of the iPhoto library.
2 - download and launch http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/BatChmod.
3 - click on the File button, locate and select your iPhoto Library.
4 - check the Unlock and Apply to enclosed checkboxes.
5 - make no changes to the other checkboxes
6 - click on the Apply button.

I have sent an attachment on my imac (via email) the person receiving it can open it but not print it, any ideas !!

Not sure will check tomorrow. I think the attachment was sent via pages or word. It also depends which device I send it from depending on if it can be printed. Sent a copy to my work computer (windows vista) and it opened and printed no problem

It means your iPhone Wi-Fi is working.
You might need to download/update your router firmware and do a router reboot.

"Edit Original" opens PS, but not the image

When I try to edit an image using the "edit original" or 'edit with..' command in ID, Photoshop open up with a blank screen (no error message & no photo). Or in the case of a vector file, Illustrator opens up with the message "file not found". In the links panel, the graphics show the correct path on my C drive. Same thing happens when I try to open a file from Bridge: PS opens, but not the file.
I've seen lots of posts where the wrong application opens the graphic, but none where the correct app opens without a file. any idea what's going on here?
I recently moved into a new Quad core i7 computer with a RAID-1 configuration, running Windows 7 Pro. I did a clean install of CS4 Premium, and also recently installed all the updates to CS4.

It's 64 bit Windows. I bought the computer with Windows 7 Pro because it's supposed to be able to install/run older software that may not be compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. I have 9Gb of RAM.
I installed CS4 to the default directory, but Windows created a folder called "Program Files (x86)" for it, where it has installed all my older software that was either 32-bit or XP compatible.
My browser is IE v.8, and I'm still using the trial version of Norton Internet Security that came with the machine.
I've also been using the HP factory-installed Windows theme.
I should mention that I bought the computer refurbished and it didn't work when it arrived. I had to send it back to HP for a complete overhaul and reinstall of the OS. I believe they also had to replace the graphics card, which is now an NVIDIA GeForce GT 220. It's been running fine since then, just this one glitch that I've noticed so far.

When e-mailing pdfs, the text becomes blurry/blocked, but not images

Recently, when e-mailing pdfs to certain individuals, they complain that the pdfs they receive contain blocked/blurry text. ALL of the text is dropped or blurred, but not the images. I originally thought that it was a probelm with only the pdfs created from Publisher, but this week it happened to several pdfs that I did not originally create. One person uses his iPad to view files, and wants all pdfs created as "Print to PDF" options--however, that compromises the resolution of the file. Does anyone else experience this probelm? Is there a solution?

Please let me know which device are they trying to open the PDFs on? Are they trying to open it on their desktops or on a portable device?
Also, what happens if the same PDF is not opened via mail but is open directly on the individuals machine? Is the behavior the same.

Double-click/Drag-&-drop Photoshop files opens application but not file or I get a message saying that some files in Application Support are missing and I have to reinstall. (Photoshop CS/CS2/CS3)

This is most commonly due to installing Photoshop CS/CS2 before doing an archive and install of Mac OS10.3 or OS10.4. One solution is to reinstall Photoshop 7/CS/CS3 after you have installed Mac OS10.3 or OS 10.4. If you have Photoshop 7 and 8(CS), the easiest way to reinstall Photoshop (without disturbing the original installation) is to install to your desktop. After the install is done just trash the Photoshop folder on the desktop. Note: This will only work with Photoshop 7 and 8(CS) but not with 9 (CS2). Photoshop CS2 you must delete the Photoshop CS2 folder. If you have any 3rd party Plugins or presets remove them from the folder before deleting. Just placing the folder in the trash will not work it must be deleted. After reinstalling CS2 you can now put all 3rd party Plugins and presets back in the new folder. --------------------------- Another solution courtesy Anne Shelbourne Open your Previous System folder. Find "Adobe Unit Types". Copy it into: <Your current system Hard Drive>/Library/ScriptingAdditions/ Then reboot your Mac. --------------------------- However, if you happen to be running a non-English version, like Photoshop CS CE or Photoshop CS ME, it appears the missing file does not get installed. You would need to install and delete the international English version first.

The problem you got into is a known problem after updating to Tiger. It is a small 4K file that gets trashed with the update. It is called the Adobe Unit Types. Both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements need this file to function.
One way to get it back is to reinstall Photoshop, the other is to add this file again.

As you trashed Photoshop, you need to completely deinstall it to be able to reinstall it.

Indesign CS4 double click the file opens app. but not file

One of our systems that is running Win XP Pro SP3 with InDesign CS4 loaded and file associations fixed, when an INDD file is double clicked the application opens but the file does not. If we open INDD and go to file open and select the file it opens. Just not when double clicked. If I put the file on another system everything is fine. Anyone seen this before.

I'm pretty much at a loss. You might want to make sure that the open action is programed correctly in Windows.
Open Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options... and scroll to .indd, then click the advanced button and select the Open action. Click Edit, and make sure that the "Application used to perform action" line includes "%1" (in quotes) after the path to InDesign. I believe the "confirm open after download" box should also be checked in the edit screen.
If that's OK, I'm guessing it has to do with SP3. Doe you have SP3 installed on the machine where it works?

Text uploads, but not images

Dear Mark: I have a new problem. I have a new pc and upgraded Dreamweaver CS4. I can connect to server, text uploads, but not pictures. I also noticed in local files some images dropped out. When I put back and try to upload they will not.

Contribute is an application contained in the CS4 Web Suites. I think that the error message you are getting is only 'speculating' on what the problem actually is.
There is something called a 'clean script' that will help to get rid of extraneous settings. I believe you need to uninstall your CS4, run the clean script, and reinstall CS4, but follow David Powers' resource on that: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1984151#1984151
Before you go and do this, go into your site definition and turn off all Contribute functionality in Dreamweaver (especially if you are NOT using Contribute).
It sounds to me as if there is a scrambled installation happening. See what these links can help with.
And do not hesitate to contact Adobe Installation Support.

When I double click a PS file, it opens PS but not the file. Why?

Since I purchased CS5, I've found that double clicking, or dragging to the Ps (or Ai) icon in the dock will only open the program, but not the file. I then have to go back and double click the file again to bring it up. I've looked in preferences but cannot find a way to resolve this. A friend who also has CS5 does not have this problem.

Are you on a Mac or a PC?
That behavior usually is sign of a file vital for Photoshop (and some other Adpobe apps too) missing.

If you are on a PC I have no solution to suggest.
