Line Chart cannot drill down on legends and lines

I am doing a drill down Group report which will show the Sum of Last year's Sales By Country, State and city over a period of time(by date) for throughout the year 2007. Every group will have a line chart with Data title as Sum of Last year's Sales ($), Group Title as Date and legends displaying countries (or states or cities) as USA,UK,Australia. etc.. I have same sort of line chart for State and City as well. So, I got 3 levels of groups with a line-chart displayed in every group level.
Now, the problem is my drill down would not work on chart lines or legends as it would do for a 2-dimensional data chart like a bar-chart or pie-chart. In the Chart Expert->Data->Layout:Group ->in the On Change Of event selection I am able to specify either Sales.Country (or) Sales.country and Sales.Sales.State. Both options would not let me get the correct linechart with correct data and drill-down working as well.
The only work-around i got is to display the line chart with legends and showing the Country(or State or City) names in a field in the Group Footer. The drilling will work on those fields, but not on the legends or lines of the line chart. This make my report showing the Country names twice once on legend (with no drill-down) and once on group-footer(with drilling ability to groups below) which is untidy.
Have anyone tried to make a drill-down crystal report on a 3-dimensional data like this? The World Sales report in Crystal reports C:\Program...\BO\Samples\General Business\World Sales Report is the best example of how i would like to see my charts to drill down. However, they drill down across a 2-dimensional data. I am publishing this Crystal Reports in Business Objects Infoview.

Please re-post if this is still an issue

  • Cannot drill down SSIS Packages

    Hi,
I am running SQL SERVER 2005 with SP4. The issue what i am facing is as follows
I have two users. 1.  UserA 2. UserB
    1. UserA -> with sysadmin privilege
    2. UserB -> msdb (dtsadmin) privilege
Both the users can view the SSIS package under msdb folder but cannot drill down (+ icon) or open the package. Can any one help me on this?
    Thanks.

now another issue raised. The ssis package is encrypted with password. (SQL SERVER 2005=>SSIS => MSDB folder=>package) when i right click the package and try to export the package its prompting for password. But the developer or i dont have idea
    about the password
Lets be little generous on forums, Dinesh. Katherine made a polite request to share your solution for initial problem for the benefit of community members.  Instead of giving slight hint of the solution, you directly said, "another
issue". Please be generous and provide the first solution.
    Coming to your another issue:
First of all without password, it will not be decrypted. What you will have to do is, while exporting say cancel (when prompted for password) and save it to the file system. Then launch BIDS and add it to the new project. All the sensitive info will be lost.
If it is small to medium size package, you may end up creating it from scratch.

  • Cannot drill down from 2nd lowest level to lowest level of hierarchy

In my item master hierarchy, I cannot drill down from the 2nd lowest level (Product Class) to the lowest level (Item Detail).
When I add another level between these 2 levels, then I can drill down from Product Class to this new level, but I cannot drill down from this new level to the lowest level.
Also, if I set the preferred drill path at any level to drill down to the lowest level, it instead drills down to next level down intead of of drilling to the lowest level.
Any thoughts as to why I would not be able to drill to the lowest level of this hierarchy?
    Thanks,
    Travis

OK, next check, any security in place on the presentation columns which would make the lowest level column unavailable to the user account?
Are you running the report as Administrator?

Hi, i cannot shut down my mac, and there is several times lagging, hanging, and auto restart. what should I do ?

Hold the power button till it shuts off (10 seconds or so)
    Then try a SMC reset:

Follow directions for a battery you should not remove yourself.
You can also try a pram reset, which has a link at the bottom of the page of the first link above.

  • Xcelsius Drill Down With Column and Line Chart

    Hi Guys,
I am working on an Xcelsius 2008 Dashboard. I would like to integrate two charts, a column and a line chart. The column chart is supposed to show the results for each quarter. With a selector it changes the view and name of the different numbers.
Then I would like to enable the drill down so that I can see the results for the three months of the corresponding quarter in the line chart. Is that somehow possible? I am totally lost. Thanks for your help.
    Kind Regards,
    Maurice

    Hi Maurice,
You cannot integrate a column chart and line chart to make drill down possible. You could drill down a column chart to show the values in another chart bt that would be just two different charts and not an integrated one.

  • Group Charts in drill down

    CA Forum: General Feedback
Hi i am pretty new in CR. I have a report which is grouped in 5 levels. ie.when we view the report we get the higher level view then you have to drill down to each of the levels. the grouping and drill down is working perfectly.I need to insert charts in the drilled down pages. but wherever i insert the charts [i tried putting it in group headers and footers] it gets shown on the very first page of the report  without drilling down. I want it to be shown only when drilled down Please helpThanks in advance

    Hi Ricky.....
Chart waise Graphical Representation is given by SAP and it can be easily done in XCelcius.
All you need to do is you have to create your own report and put this report in XCelcius.
    It is recently launched.....

  • Conditional Formatting for Charts in Drill down - Disappears

    Hi All,
I have a "Vertical Bar Chart" that is plotted against Time on Y-axis and Unit on the X-axis; it has drill feature selected.
The chart also has conditional format specified and the color of the Vertical bar will change on a condition. Eg: The bar will show Red color if the Average Time taken is more than 60 minutes for an Appliance Unit. All this works fine.
    Problem
As the chart has Drill feature enabled I can drill down on the chart say from Year - > Month -> Day. The issue is the conditional formatting disappears when you drill down the chart.
It looks strange as the main chart shows Red color for a Unit and when you drill down I don't see the conditional format applied any more.
Did anyone had similar problem, is there any work around here.
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards
    B

    Hi,
Create a dummy column and in fx write this,
Case when Table."Average Time" >60 then 0 else 1 end
Add this also in th part of chart axis,
Go to conditional formatting set the formatting on the dummy column when 0 set to Red color.
Now you will have the conditional formatting even if you drill down.
    Thanks,
    Vino

  • Drill Down thru hyperlink and return

    Hi,
In one of my report(REPORT A) I am drilling down using navigate to another report (REPORT B), and I have a "return" at the bottom of the report.
I am facing the following problem when i do this:
Step1: I am opening REPORT A and drilling down using the hyperlink from one of my column to REPORT B.
Step2: I am opening another report, REPORT C, which has NO connection to REPORT A or REPORT B.
Step 3: When I click the "return" link at the bottom of REPORT B, it takes me to REPORT C instead of REPORT A.
How can this be fixed? Please help. Thank you.

    Hi Bifacts,
In that when you say "After I Open REPORT C", do you mean you "REPORT C" is provided as link on the dashboard page?
-- Yes, REPORT C is provided as a link in the same dashboard page.
this is what i understood from the first 2 points:
there exists a single dashboard page, where you have REPORT A initially displayed to user and REPORT C as a link.
-- REPORT A, is also provided as a link.
On "REPORT A" user is provided with a on click cell navigation to "REPORT B".
    -- Yes
You say you can "return" back safely now.
    -- Yes
But when you click on the "REPORT C" link you don't come back to the dashboard contiaining "REPORT A" and "REPORT C" link right??...now correct me if i am wrong.
-- At this point let us assume I have clicked on REPORT A, and it pops up my dashboard prompts and I input values, it displays my report, and from the report, I drilled down and now I also have REPORT B up. Now I click the link to REPORT C, and input values thru the dashboard prompts of REPORT C, and REPORT C is also up in a seperate window. After this I go back to my REPORT B, and click return, instead of returning back to REPORT A, it returns me back to REPORT C's dashboard prompts.
-- In another scenario, if I click on REPORT C's link, and the dashboard prompts for REPORT C comes up, I input values and display REPORT C, then I click on REPORT A, and input values in REPORT A's dashboard prompts and drill down to REPORt B and click on the return in REPORT B, i safely return back to REPORT A.
-- The problem is the return takes me back to the last opened(clicked thru link) report, instead of always taking me from REPORT B to REPORT A as only these two reports are related using cell navigation.

  • Create Multiple Pie Charts with Drill Down capability(foreach in mainreport

  • Can Discoverer drill down include summary and details?

Let's say I have a set of bonds in different accounts.
Each bond has an account, product_type, rating_group and book_value.
I show an initial report with account and sum(book_value).
then I want to "Drill to related" to see the sum of book value by rating group.
When I do this, I no longer have the total book value for the whole account. I just have it for each rating group within the account. I want to be able to still see the sum of the book value for all rating groups and also see how it's broken out by rating group.
    For example:
    I start with this:
    Account | Book Value
    C-BASS | $1M
Then I drill to related -> "Rating Group" and it looks like this:
Account | Rating Group | Book Value
    C-BASS | AAA | $0.5M
    C-BASS | AA | $0.25M
    C-BASS | A | $0.25M
I want it to look like this (or something like this):
Account | Rating Group | Book Value
    C-BASS | All | $1M
    C-BASS | AAA | $0.5M
    C-BASS | AA | $0.25M
    C-BASS | A | $0.25M

  • [SQL Developer 3.0.04] Cannot Drill Down

In my connections tab, once I can connect, I see a list of database objects with expandable plusses. However, when I click on a plus, I don't get anything under it (e.g., a list of tables). I'm going against an Oracle 11 normal database.
Is there a setting I've missed in the tool, or is this my security access. I seem to be able to execute the SQL I need.

    Hi Gary,
You have described a variation on theme that can be found in many posts on this forum. You may want to try out the most common fixes:
    1. Make sure you are not pointing to a Java 7 jdk in your sqldeveloper.conf file. Using the latest jdk1.6.0_xx update is recommended.
    2. Try restarting SQL Developer after removing its system directory (but only after first backing up your connection information!).
    3. Rather than (2), alternately you could download the latest SQL Developer (3.2.09.30), unzip it into an empty directory, and start it up.
If you decide to go with (2)
    A. Back-up the connections by right-clicking on the Connections node, select Export Connections..., then follow the Export dialog.
    B. Exit SQL Developer.
    C. Either delete or rename the system directory. On Windows 7 for SQL Developer 3.0.04.34, for example, it can be found at:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SQL Developer\system3.0.04.34D. Launch SQL Developer and import your connections.
If you decide to go with (3), you can either migrate settings from an earlier SQL Developer install or not. If not, doing (2A) may be convenient if you prefer to import connections rather than re-enter them manually.
One of these approaches usually resolves the issue.

Wow. That post almost made my eyes bleed. You may want to add some white space for readability.
Anyways - as Falk said. You should move or re-post this in the [Crystal Reports Design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum. They specialize in this sort of thing. Us dev guys here make sure we can see the chart without errors and don't do much beyond that.

  • Pivot and chart drill down

    Hi ,
Could anyone please let me know how to drill down in pivot and related chart report .
As because when I drill i get a table view instead of chart.
    Regards,
    Megha

    Hi,
I believe you are trying to show chart of your pivot table as well in your pivot view. I tried and I can drill down from both chart and its pivot table.
You need to select drill option under Interaction tab of Additional Charting Option properties of this chart. Save your report and see if drill down in pivot table and in chart in the Pivot view is working.
