Line Item Dimension has been reset / cancelled after upgrade to 7.0

Hello,
we upgraded to Netweaver BI 7.0 SP 17 and now I receive the message that the line item flag in the dimension has been reset / cancelled.
Can I set the line item flag again also in the new BI 7.0 Multicube?
Does anyone know where to set the flag ?
Thanks and regards,
Ilona

Hi llona,
U need to set the flag at the dimention screen of the Multiprovider..
When u enter the Dimention screen there u can find all the dimentions of the Multiprovider, right side to those dimension u can check the Line Item Dimention flag..
Make sure that u will assign only one char to the line item dimension.. then only u can treat a dimension as Line Item..
Thanks
Do these things in D and move it to the further landscapes..
thanks

  • Empty line item added in incomplete sales orders after upgrade

    Hi,
We are upgraded from 4.7 to 6.0 version of R/3. After the upgrade in sales orders which were incomplete in 4.7, a empty line item have got added in those sales order. While opening those order in VA02, first line item is completely empty and due to that it doesnot allow me to do anything on that order. Also, on checking the tables such as VBAP, VBKD an empty line item is there.
    Kindly Advice.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Kishore,
I have already checked SAP notes but got nothing related to it.

  • IPhone 4's WIFI has been not working after upgraded to 6.1.3(10B329)

My IPhone 4 was working fine with its WIFI when it is running in default IOS version, I believe it was 5.x.x version, however after I upgraded to 6.1.3(10B329) then WIFI got very aweired issues again and again.starting from then I never get my WIFI working again:
    1. Sometimes I can connect to my home's network and keep alive for 1-2 minutes then WIFI will not work on IPone, my home's router is not working either, I need to restart my home's router manually;
    2. I can connect to my office's network and keep alive 5-10 minutes then WIFI is not working, however my office router is not affected; however the following days then I can't connect WIFI to office's network any more.
    3. I tried to connect to other public area's free network via WIFI, however never joined in.
I called Apple's service centre couple of times they have no clues, they said they never met this problem before for WIFI not working after upgraded to IOS 6.1.3 and no suggestions from them at all, every time I called them they gave me the same suggestion, such as restore-re-install, check your own router etc, nothing help, however my friend bought a brand new IPhone 4 with default IOS version 6.1.3 which is working perfectly without any issues on its WIFI then I believe this is a completely software issue.
I know this is a general issue for Apple users and I refuse to upgrade to higher version as I am not sure the higher version can fix this issue however I am pretty sure the newer version of IOS did bring a lot of new bugs, anyone can provide me any suggestions guys ? THANKS A LOTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Terrence

I have fixed this issue after upgraded my router's firmware finally, this is a completely compatibility issue between Apple and other third party manufactures, hopefully we can get compabitlity list for each future IOS version ahead of time which can potentially avoid such kind of embarrassing situations moving forward, thanks !

  • Checking Line Item Dimension

    Hi
Does anyone know a quicker way to do a mass check on whether 'line item dimension' has been defined in InfoCubes?
    Please share if you do.

    Hi Anthony,
You can look up table RSDDIMEV (field LINITFL).

  • What is line item dimension and cardinality in BI 7.0

Can u plz suggest me what is line item dimension and cardinality in BI 7.0..
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Babu
Line item: This means the dimension contains precisely one characteristic. This means that the system does not create a dimension table. Instead, the SID table of the characteristic takes on the role of dimension table. Removing the dimension table has the following advantages:
¡        When loading transaction data, no IDs are generated for the entries in the dimension table. This number range operation can compromise performance precisely in the case where a degenerated dimension is involved.
¡        A table- having a very large cardinality- is removed from the star schema. As a result, the SQL-based queries are simpler. In many cases, the database optimizer can choose better execution plans.
Nevertheless, it also has a disadvantage: A dimension marked as a line item cannot subsequently include additional characteristics. This is only possible with normal dimensions.
Note: In SAP BW 3.0, the term line item dimension from SAP BW 2.0 must a) have precisely one characteristic and b) this characteristic must have a high cardinality. Before, the term line item dimension was often only associated with a). Hence the inclusion of this property in the above. Be aware that a line item dimension has a different meaning now than in SAP BW2.0.
SAP recommends that you use ODS objects, where possible, instead of InfoCubes for line items.
    Hope this helps.

  • Line item dimensions and cardinality?

    hi all,
how to identify nor use the cardinality relationship as well as the line item dimension?
can anyone explain me about it. since i am trying to create an multi provider which enables to fetch data from 3 ods.
    regds
    Hari Chintu

    Hi,
Below is some useful information on Line item dimension and high cardinality.
These concepts hold good for Cube design only, coming to ODS, these dont help you. As ODS is nothin but a flat structure, we do not have the facility of Star schema. Reporting on ODS can lead to performance issues, it is better to load data from ODS into Cube and then have a multiprovider on them instead of having it on ODS.
    Hope this helps.

    Use
When compared to a fact table, dimensions ideally have a small cardinality.  However, there is an exception to this rule. For example, there are InfoCubes in which a characteristic document is used, in which case almost every entry in the fact table is assigned to a different document. This means that the dimension (or the associated dimension table) has almost as many entries as the fact table itself. We refer here to a degenerated dimension. In BW 2.0, this was also known as a line item dimension, in which case the characteristic responsible for the high cardinality was seen as a line item. Generally, relational and multi-dimensional database systems have problems to efficiently process such dimensions. You can use the indicators line item and high cardinality to execute the following optimizations:
           1.      Line item: This means the dimension contains precisely one characteristic. This means that the system does not create a dimension table. Instead, the SID table of the characteristic takes on the role of dimension table. Removing the dimension table has the following advantages:
        When loading transaction data, no IDs are generated for the entries in the dimension table.  This number range operation can compromise performance precisely in the case where a degenerated dimension is involved.
        A table- having a very large cardinality- is removed from the star schema.  As a result, the SQL-based queries are simpler. In many cases, the database optimizer can choose better execution plans.
Nevertheless, it also has a disadvantage: A dimension marked as a line item cannot subsequently include additional characteristics. This is only possible with normal dimensions.
           2.      High cardinality: This means that the dimension is to have a large number of instances (that is, a high cardinality). This information is used to carry out optimizations on a physical level in depending on the database platform. Different index types are used than is normally the case. A general rule is that a dimension has a high cardinality when the number of dimension entries is at least 20% of the fact table entries. If you are unsure, do not select a dimension having high cardinality.
However, we recommend that you use ODS objects, where possible, instead of InfoCubes for line items. See Creating ODS Objects.

When creating dimensions in the InfoCube maintenance, flag the relevant dimension as a Line Item/ having High Cardinality.

  • Can "Line item dimension" have attributes?

    Hi,
I understand that, Line item dimension should have only one Characteristic.
Is it allowed to have ATTRIBUTES along with it?
    Thanks for your help.
    Lakshmi

    Hi
the only restriction of a line item dimension is that it only has one characteristic.
Of course this char can have attributes, nav or not nav.
Don't forget that a line item dimension has no dimension table has such, therefore when you'll request this char, the fact table will be systematically read.
    Hoping this will help

  • Regarding line item dimension

    Hi all,
what are the necessary prerequisities will u take regarding line item dimension.
for eg., for sd cubes we r using sales doc no., i.obj as a line item dimension? why can't the other i.obj?
    plz explain me clearly?

    HI,
    Line Item and High Cardinality
When compared to a fact table, dimensions ideally have a small cardinality. However, there is an exception to this rule. For example, there are InfoCubes in which a characteristic document is used, in which case almost every entry in the fact table is assigned to a different document. High Cardinality
If your dim table size exceeds the 20% of your fact table then you can say it as high cardinality, for ex: your fact table contains 100 records and your customer dimension contains 25 records means this dim is with high cardinality. you can check with your client for the expected records for those dimensions or for the info objects which you define in one dimension. to know the sizes of the dimension tables and fact tables you can runa a program in SE37 SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS, it displays all your info cubes fact and dimension tables with sizes, if any dimension exceeds the more than 10% to 20% it will be in RED.
It means that the dimension is to have a large number of instances (that is, a high cardinality).

After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 from 7.1 over the air, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later. My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it, as well as an arrow pointing at the Itunes logo. After holding the sleep button down or even doing the hard reset the same screen comes up on my phone regardless of whether it is plugged in or not to my computer. I have turned my computer off and on again. It is plugged in and charging as it's battery life is very short. I also reset my modem and the same error message pops up. The only option on my computer when my phone is plugged in is to restore it. My firewall also allows Itunes through it. I have literally tried everything I know being someone who knows very little about technology. I also do not want to hear about how the update worked for other people. My phone has been in recovery mode for 5 hours at least now so it will just make me more frustrated if a bunch of people post about how the update worked for them.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
    iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
    Then See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...  Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...
    Restore from Backup  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

After password has been reset how do I reset keychain?

That article is a great help if you remember your OLD login password.
If not, the bad news is in this article:
OS X: Keychain Access asks for keychain "login" after changing login password
read it carefully, It explains how to change your keychain by using the OLD password.
If you don't remember your original (former) account password
If you don't remember your original password, you'll need to delete the keychain. Deleting a keychain also deletes all the password data saved in that keychain.
If this applies, it means is that your old saved passwords are lost.
You will have to start collecting them anew and adding them to the new keychain. Use Web mail and log in to your email with a Browser. Get them to send you your old password or reset it, then record the new one in Mail Preferences, and it will be saved in the current login keychain.
You will have to do a similar exercise with your other saved passwords.

if your MacBook Pro doesn’t stay active long enough to perform an OS X Internet Recovery, then you should make an appointment at your nearest Apple store or Apple-authorized service provider to have them diagnose what’s ailing it.
