Line item grace periods vs Days in arrears

hi consultant,
in dunning procedure, we can see line item grace periods. if click the dunning levels button, can see the days in arrears at each dunning level.
what is the difference between Line item grace periods and Days in arrears? i think line item grace periods is after this grace period then only due to start dunning run and count the number of days until it gets dun. correct? what about days in arrears?
thanks

Hello,
Do not leave grace period blank or less than days in
arrears if you do not want to include items in dunning level "0" in your
dunning notice.
As per the documentation, the number of grace days (line item) and
days in arrears (first dunning level) you enter will normally be
identical. So if your days in arrears for level 1 is 14, you should also
indicate grace days of 14.  Otherwise, if you leave the grace days
blank or less than 14, the system will include also items in arrears
earlier than 14 days (level 1).
As per online documentation:
Grace period shorter than days in arrears
In this case there may be items which are overdue but which do not
reach a certain dunning level due to the days in arrears. Although
these items are printed out, they receive the dunning level zero.
These items alone cannot trigger a dunning notice.

  • Line Item Grace Periods  Vs Min Days in Arrears(Acct)

    Hi All,
While configuring Dunning @ FBMP, there are two fields which serve almost the same purpose. They are,
Min. Days in arrears (acct)......If we give say here 3 days, then 3 days will be added to the due date for determining whether dunning can be generated for an open invoice.
Line Item grace periods...........If we give say here 3 days, then 3 days will be added to the due date for determining whether dunning can be generated for an open invoice.
It is observed that if you put equivalent or less than the number of days in Min Days in Arrears field as compared to the number of days entered against Line Item field, then no dunning will be generated.
On the other hand if you put more no of days aginst Min days in arreas field as compared to the no of days put against Line item grace periods field, then the dunning will be generated on the invoice date plus no of days mentioned in Min days in arrears field.
Could any body throw some light on why this happens. More specifically:
    1. What is the basic difference between these two fields and their significance for Dunning. I am pretty clear about the meaning of  Min days in arreas filed, but not about the other field's significance.
    2. Why the system behaves in the fashion that I have described above for different combinations of figures entered in these two fields.
The brief scenario is as below for easy reference:
Details    Min Days in Arr   Line item gr Pd   Dunning Possible
    Days            3                       3                    Not Possible
    Days            3                       2                    Possible
    Days            2                       3                    Not Possible
Please throw some light on this.

  • New GL: Balance carryforward w/line items

Hi guys i am having issue with new GL: Balance carry forward w/line items. totals are working fine but i am having issue with line items
i did applied with note SAP Note 1153947. some how the   balance carry forward  is not  writing    line items to period 000. is there any one had this problem?
what i need to do if note is already in PLace?
i am exacting data from ds FAGLFLEXA, FAGLFLEXP and FAGLFLEXT
please do let me know if you guys have any solution for this?

    Hi hsakhan ,
Technically, you can transfer the balances using F.16 where the balances of the G/L account will be carried forwarded into the new fiscal year.
But the financial statements for the closed years have to re-stated which is a big deal (especially if the company has gone public). You might want to check this with internal audit in either case before you do that in production.

  • How to input FI invoice with many line items using FB60

    Dear All,
Currently the users are posting document consisting of 500 to 700 line items every period using transaction FB60. The line items that are posted every period are not repetitive in nature. It is consuming lot of time.
Is there any efficient (simpler) way of posting the document with so many line items? could you please share your thoughts in this regard?
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Vasu,
Try to do a recording for a BDC program with Tcode SHDB.
Then ask your ABAPer to developa program with this BDC recording.
    This will fix the purpose.
    Thanks,

  • Credit Terms with Grace Period in Credit Management -

    Team,
I want to know how to define the following:
    Credit Terms: Net 30 days
    Grace Period: 5 days
The systems  should not  put Sales Orders on 'credit hold' upto 35 days. On the 36th day (and beyond) Sales Orders should be put on 'credit hold' by the system.
Please let me know where and how to configure above scenario in R/3.
    Thanks

    Hi Reji,
To achieve this, you assign two different credit control areas to two different sales areas. Then in "OVA8" you maintain the horizon period differently.(You can maintain in days aswell). and you maintain the overall credit limit as it is in the Customer Credit Master record (FD32) .This should solve the problem.

  • Clearing Line Items in previous periods (F.13)

My customer was not aware that an automatic clearing process had to be performed at the end of each month for a GR/IR Account (Transaction F.13). So, in Transaction FS10N, all line items by Purchase Order with balance = 0 are shown open. (They display with red light).
We were able to fix the problem by executing the automatic clearing process (transaction F.13) for the current period which it is Period #10. Now, all line items by Purchase Order with balance = 0 are displayed on green which it is correct.
We tried to execute the same process for previous periods (Period 09, 08, 07 .... 01) but we get the message Can't process, the period is not open. In previous periods, the line items still are shown on Red light even if the balance = 0.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    MP

    Hi,
F.13 clearing won't possible previous periods. can be possible present month and previous month only.
Before previous month won't possible. the reason is Material period will allow only backpostings upto one month.
    Thanks

  • Archiving cost center line items for current period

    Hi,
I was not able to archive & delete the cost center line items for current period.I was succesfull in deleting the past line items of the last periods.

    Hi Rajesh,
I think SAP help says that the period for which you are planning to delete or archive data may have to be locked.
    Check the following links:

  • 1KEH posting line item totals in a closed period

I have a client who has been running 1KEH but not ticking the line item update.
Therefore GLPCT has been updated, but when they drill into the detail via KE5Z there is nothing there.
Say we are in period 6 now. They want to update the line item detail for periods 2, 3, 4 & 5.
Now doing period 5 is easy as you can run it for the previous period, but how do you move the periods back to say period 3, so I can run it for period 2.
Is there a special program for this, or do I need to re open MMPV, via MMRV.
If anyone has done this let me know.

    Hi,
no need to create a OSS message as I would be the one processing it.
In your case there is exactly one possibility: Manual posting with the "old" PCA manual posting transaction 1KEL.
See note 858363, point "Transaction 1KEH". PCA is restricted to only be able to transfer the last 2 periods because of the MM period closing program. Important is that you use transaction 1KEL to be able to also enter the important characteristic field "Origin Object" (technical field RHOART) with value '19' for material stock postings.
    Best regards,

Is Verizon giving any grace period on the trade need to arrive within 30 days?

Great question graffalau. Yes, we are providing you time to send in your device." Once you submit your trade online, you'll receive shipping materials to return your old device back to Verizon Wireless within 7 days after receiving your new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, but no later than 12/01/14."

  • Why was I told there is a 7 day grace period??? and now i have a late fee

I was told that the bill is actually 'due' 7 days after the due date. (i.e. a 7 day grace period from date on bill) and now I have a late fee. This is ridiculous! I paid before the 7 days and now I have a late fee, frustrated.

What is the point of a "due date" if the bill isn't "due" until 7 days after the due date? Your "grace" period is the time from when you get your bill until the "due date". For me, that is normally 20 or so days. To me at least, a due date is pretty self explanatory. Just pay the late fee and learn from your mistake.

  • 750 to 1200 line items per order

    Hi
Does any body have the experience of creating order with 750-1200 line items per order, in such scenario how the performance of the e-commerce was handled, was any custom development made to achieve.
    please let us know
    thanks

Stefan, as stated, this was not well thought through solution (but with some work would be possible to achieve).
Regarding memory leaks. We have spent quite a bit of time looking in-depth at the shop code over the years and have so far seen very little evidence of actual memory leaks.
MASSIVE memory consumption, yes, definitely, but no actual leaks
If you have a suitable OS and JVM running that will allow you to crank up your JVM memory settings then you will most likely see that the memory usage will plateau...it might just be at a much higher level than you would have reasonably expected.
To give you an example. One of our customers was running a very large catalog (900 000 items) and the shop used 22 GB of memory when running. One of the main reasons in their case, with such a big catalog, was how the web shop chooses to create web cat items and cache them. Deep in the standard shop code you can find that there are lots and lots of ArrayLists initiated and they are all given a >0 default length, which consumes memory even when empty. In this particular case this became such a big issue that we sent SAP the proof that if they would initiate the ArrayLists with 0 length the memory consumption would drop significantly for each WebCatItem instance.
We estimated at the time after some in-place replacements of the CatalogAttributeValue, class out of the pcatAPI.jar where we set it by default to null instead of size of 10 that we would have saved about 40% of memory consumption. We even prepared the test case and sent it all to SAP, but don't think we ever got it implemented in standard code.
Another suggestion was that SAP would implement a LRU cache for catalog caching for larger catalogs....again would help with memory usage challenges.
With another customer we had 1 Million+ hits per business day (8 h period) and I can't remember us ever having to chase up memory leaks in the standard shop code...they might exist, but perhaps the usage scenarios I've been involved in have just not brought most of them to daylight.
Purely out of interest...if you have found memory leaks in the shop it would be interesting to hear where you found them.
    Cheers
    Kalle

  • AR- Invoice- splitting line item positngs

    Hello,
we have a scenario in the AR invoice. The business invoices the customer on a weekly basis, for the week at month-end few days if the week fall into the next month( for e.g Oct 28th week , thursday and friday fall into Nov month, they want that all the revenues to be automatically split on the same Invoice and fall in the appropriate period.
Personally I don't think there is posting date on line item , if we invoice it in nov then the total amount will post to november period.
Can anyone provide any inputs or some work around to split the line items month-wise on the same invoice.
    thanks in advance.

This issue should actually be resolved by an SD consultant. It is outside FICO domain.
For your scenario you need to modify "Billing Plan/Invoice Plan Type" which is configured in  SD > Billing > Billing Plan > Billing Plan Type.
There are some options available in that config settings that should fulfill your needs for eg:
    In
Milestone billing (a billing type) - the total value to be billed is distributed between the individual billing plan dates (the value billed on each date can be fixed amount or a percentage). I believe this should take care of your issue. You may need to get in touch with your Sales & Distribution team for configuring settings to satisfy your scenario.
You can find some descriptive notes on this under:
SD > Billing > Billing Plan, just read the documentation available to get a hang of the issue.
