Link to a new site that opens within my site

Can someone tell me how I can create a link to an external site, where the site opens up within the body of my site? Do I need a javascript for this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi David,
The iframe option is fabulous. I've used it for my ebay link as well as a "news" section.
I do still have one issue with the "news" section – I seem to have my background image from the body showing through in the padding of the div that holds the iframe. I've tried everything, but can't seem to get rid of it! I didn't have this problem with the ebay link and didn't have this problem before I added the iframe. Any suggestions?
Thanks again!

  • How to replace LOV popup with a search screen that opens within same window

    Hi,
We have a requirement to get rid of LOV popups from our custom OA pages. They need to be replaced by search pages that open within the same window.
For example, we are creating an employee assignment to a department. We first find the employee (currently using the LOV), then the department (currently using another LOV) and then save the new assignmnet record.
The two options we have are:
    1. search page fully replaces the current page, and when the user has selected a record, it returns them back to the first page, setting some fields, eg. employee id, employee name, employee address fields.
    2. search page opens in a region of the same page (PPR?) and then disappears once the user has seleted a record.
I am not sure how to do this, and really could do with some pointers, i.e. the best way to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance
    Mark

Both of your options are valid with some pros and cons.
option 1: It gives you a nice interface but then you will have a pass a large number of data back to 1st page.
options 2: You can use the Rendered property of a serach region at runtime and achieve your goal. Since it will be a single page, result set to base items mapping will be easier. Though this kind of UI will look bad if your search region is big.
So it all depends on which option is easier to implement for you.

  • Last nov. i opened itunes only to find my account gone.  My email is linked to a new account that I have never accessed, its empty of information, like my bank account etc.  Help1

My account that I had set up is gone, or I can't access it.  My old username is unfound by apple.  Ihave a new username but the accoun it links to is new, qith no info in it.  what happened to my old account?

I am now on Chapter 3 & 4 -  Since this is the ONLY message board I can get into,
& Roger, No, I never had a "mobile me account", if that's a cell phone - wouldn't own one! - IF it was from the Old Tiger mail Ap, I do believe it was discontinued, when they came out with Snow Lion, no? So that's defunct.  FYI I got my first computer in 1991 - DOS, good stuff, easy to fix. My first mac in 2006 Tiger, great stuff, loved it. Then Snowleopard, not sure when, maybe '09? it was just before Lion came out, didn't know the new one would come so soon. & in June 2012, first mac crashed, lost a year "unsaved" data.
Q # 1. I can't get into My Account - to get into support & any questions! Somehow all my data is messed up, & I've had to change passwords 3 times today every time I'm "rejected" by my account. I seem to have 3 accounts now, each with a different name Password, & Security Questions! & I've been rejected due to: "Incorrect ID name", "Incorrect Password" & because whatever - doesn't" recognize my birth date" / or "my Security question answers" that I chose - all of which I know are correct. AGUH!
    My latest problems:
    1) Can you Unzip iPhotos, uploaded from a USB or External Drive (after my SL crashed)? The dpi for these old ones is about 250 x 360 (88 KB) compared to 2448 x 3264 (2.6 MB) for recent ones.
    - Do you need a program to do this? Some say there's a "free" program, any good? Can unzip be done to many or 1 at a time? Or is there something I haven't found in iPhoto '11, 9.2.1 (Lion)?
[I now buy new Camera Memory cards & don't delete the photos anymore, since I lost so many.]
    2) Can I combine all 3 of my Apple ID info - or at least delete that 4 year old Email address in my profile? (IF I can ever get in. I wrote a "suggestion" to the Apple folks, who said my new Email was on it, & they'd send me an email - but I never got it, guess it went to the old one?

  • Lately(2013) when i click a link in Firefox, the window that opens is maximaized instead of half or quarter sized like it has always been. why? fixes?

Just recently May 2013, when I click on a link that opens a new window, the window opens as maximized instead of the reduced size it normally does. why? I can't find any support for this issue. I am operating Windows 7 with service pak 1. And using Firefox 21.0. is this a bug? how do I fix it?

That worked perfectly. not sure how i pressed f11, but thank you so much!

  • When I open a link in a new window it opens BEHIND the current window.

links that open a new window open the window behind the current window instead of in front of it. This just started happening in the last week or so.

  • I clicked a link in another program that opened a link in Firefox, but only that opened, not any of my 50 saved tabs from last session. What can I do?

So I clicked a link in a program that opened in Firefox. I had over 50 tabs from the course of a couple months I was saving, so "go back in your history" is not a practical option. I use the "Restore Tabs From Last Session" (or whatever the exact wording is) so I can just close and open and get all my tabs back. This time only this one link opened, nothing else did (like I remember it usually doing). How am I to restore that previous session? It's crucial for me to get all that stuff back, it drives me crazy when this happens (it's why I dropped Chrome and came here to Firefox, better memory management and less crashes).

    Restore your Previous Session
    *https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-previous-session
You can try to restore a previous version of the sessionstore.js or sessionstore.bak file. You need to rename the .bak file to .js to make Firefox see that session.

  • Everytime I click on a link and a new tab/window opens to open the link - i get an alert that says URL is not valid and cnnot be loaded. I click ok and the page loads fine. How do I get rid of this alert?

    See above

Actually the OP is running Firefox 3.6.8, but has a user agent that is corrupted by an extension (NET_mmhpset)
You can check the '''general.useragent''' prefs on the about:config page.<br />
You can open the '''about:config''' page via the location bar, just like you open a website.<br />
    Filter: general.useragent<br />
If '''general.useragent''' prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.<br />

  • When clicking a link normally - a new tab would open, but in this version a new window opens and there are 2 blue bars - the bar at the top of the browser and on the left hand side is a orange firefox button - Next time i start firefox it crashes!!!

This window looks weird: there are 2 blue bars(the upper blue bar - normally there is 1, with the current page name and - Mozilla Firefox written in white inside of the bar) plus in the 2nd bar there is an orange firefox button, on the left hand side.
I have already asked this question and was adviced to start in safe mode - this did not help either.
Please help me quickliy, it is really annoying.
    Thanks

  • Whenever I right-click to open a link in a new tab, it opens it in a new window instead. How do I fix this?

The other night, I opened up a new window to do some school work, then accidentally saved that page instead of my usual page when I closed out, causing me to lose all my tabs. Since this happened, all the links I open in Firefox open in a new window, even though my settings are set that it should open in new tabs, and even when I right-click and hit "Open in a New Tab." Links from places besides Firefox (like MSN and such) still open in new tabs. What can I do to fix this?

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

  • Why the hell you've now decided to change the order of the "Open link in a new window" and "Open link in a new tab" options on the link menu???????????????

Why, oh why have you now decided to change the order of the link menu options? People were so used to it that I bet nobody even look at the menu, they just go for it as I do and many of my friends does!! Why change something that works so fine and has been since ever??

I like the new arrangement because I open new tabs much more often than I open new windows. It makes much more sense than the old way.

  • Safari and new Windows That Open by Themselves

I am using an iMac, Running OSX 10.9.4. And Safari 7.0.5.
I have for last few  months been dogged by windows in separate tabs opening most of the time when I am on any website.
i.e.: when with safari open, I have one tab open, I click on link on that page, two windows open, the correct one from the link that I Clicked on and another which is from various sites, like betting sites to adult sites, but mainly MACKEEPER and JAVA update.
I am at a loss as to how to fix this ?

  • Forefox won't open links in a new tab, they open in a new window instead.

I just updated to the newest version of Firefox (says 3.6.11 in "About Firefox"). Links now open in new windows instead of tabs in the same browser window. My settings are set to do this but it doesn't work.
Someone said the AskToolbar extension was the problem, but I went to Tools-->Add-Ons and saw that I didn't have that extension. Anybody know whassap? Thanks!!

Did you check if another extension is causing it?

  • I am writing an applescript and want to paste the clipboard contents into a new file that opens in TextMate. This is what I have so far. The paste is NOT working...

This is what I have so far:
    tell application "Google Chrome"
view source of active tab of window 1 -- Or whichever tab you want
      delay 3
repeat while loading of active tab of window 1
      delay 3
              end repeat
select all of active tab of window 1 -- Must *always* be the active tab
copy selection of active tab of window 1
      delay 3
--          delete tab (active tab index of window 1) of window 1
    end tell
    delay 1
    tell application "TextMate-1.5.9"
      activate
      open
      paste
    end tell
    Paste is not working.

This works, I am sure that there is a more elegant way??
    # Applescript to copy html of active tab to clipboard and open TextMate and paste source to new document
    tell application "Google Chrome"
set theURL to URL of active tab of window 1
view source of active tab of window 1
    delay 3
repeat while loading of active tab of window 1

copy selection of active tab of window 1
    delay 3
    end tell
do shell script "open -a TextMate"
    delay 3
    tell application "TextMate"
    open
    activate
              tell application "System Events"
      keystroke "a" using {command down}
      keystroke "v" using {command down}
              end tell
    end tell
    tell application "Google Chrome"

  • Opening a link in a new tab brings opens to a page of Chinese writing

I have had several web sites today that have re-routed me to a page filled with Chinese. The location bar shows the correct destination, but it brings up chinese on an otherwise blank page.
The page I selected to view was at this URL:
    http://www.exposed.su/CIA_Director_John_Brennan_Credit_Report.htm
But this is how the page was displayed.
    file:///home/jess/Pictures/Screenshot%20from%202013-03-16%2019:10:03.png
Can anyone tell me what happened with it? It has never happened to me before today when I have seen several sites do the same thing.

You can check the encoding to see if it is currently set to an UTF-16 encoding when visiting the page.<br />
You can try an UTF-8 encoding or other encoding.
*Firefox > Web Developer > Character Encoding
    *View > Character Encoding
That server is currently not working for me, so I can't check it.

  • How can I get new tabs to automatically open when I click on a new site (rather than replace the existing page I am using)?

For some reason when i click on to a new site or link, tabs no longer automatically open so if i forget to manually click on the little plus sign at the end of the tab strip, my new destination replaces where i currently was. This was not the case in the past and I cannot find where to reset this so that a new tab will once again auto create. !
I tried options/tabs: open new windows in a new tab instead, but this did not fix the issue. Can anyone tell me what i need to do get firefox to create auto creat a new tab when i move to a new link rather than replace the one currently in use? Thank you!

You can middle click a link to open that link in a new tab.
