Link to Anchor on another page DW Mac CS4

In GoLive when I clicked on the pointer to go to another page, it showed a list of anchors on that page. Is there a way to do this? Alternately I could have two pages open at once and click from the text on one page directly to the anchor on the other with the pointer.
Problem is that with the tabed pages I cannot open two pages at once. Is there a way to open two pages next to each other instead of tabbed?

No. Several GoLive people have asked the same question. You can't do it in Dreamweaver. If you think it's an important feature that you would like to see added to a future version, file a feature request here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

You can turn off the tabbed interface in the Mac version of Dreamweaver by selecting the General category in the Preferences panel. Deselect the checkbox labelled Open documents in tabs.

Yes it is possible.
In the properties dialog insert the page containing the named
anchor into the link edit box.
At the end of the link add #anchor name.
For example:
link:
index.htm#anchorname

But I keep getting an error, I think its because its reading
the # hash sign as a PHP instruction rather than an anchor hash...
Is there are way to mark it up so as to use the # as part of the

Sorry, I will try and explain in a different way...
I have a page in php where a database has an entry added,
changed or deleted.
The page is posted to an in between page to process the
transaction (which works)...
You are then taken to a dynamic anchor of the entry on a
database summary page to the SAME entry to see that the change has
been done.
(So the basic problem is that the link to take to the anchor
needs to have a # hash symbol in the middle to denote the anchor,
but the URL that is created puts the # at the end of the URL rather
than directly before the link the php code generates... All I need
is a way to code a PHP URL that manages a # hash in the middle.)
So in the middle processing page, I have update an entry
transaction with the page to redirect to after undertaking the
transaction as:
seeAllEntriesXcodeAsc.php#<?php echo
$row_getProductsWithSAMEcode['id']; ?>
So the final URL error I get is this:

Link from report to another page

I have a report with form construction. The report lists Things. Thing has columns ID,NAME,DESC. The ID (Edit button) via the wizard is linked to the form and it works fine. Next I wanted to have the NAME column link to another page (page 27) whose content is generated by a PLSQL procedure as the region source. The PLSQL uses the bind variable :P27_ID to determine which record to select. On the reports page Column Attributes for NAME I have target page in this application (27) and in the Items List I have Name of P27_ID and value of #ID#. I hoped this would work like the link to the Form page but it doesn't quite. The problem is on Page 27 I wind up with the record for the previous time I clicked a NAME in the report list. It's like one behind. I'm missing something obviously.

Anonymous - Sometimes the session state gets corrupted when you're developing an application, like if you rename an item for example. If logging out/logging in permanently fixed the issue, it was probably something like that.

Help!!Why not read the values from the calling page in the new page? They are there and available.. If you call page 2 from page 1, all the items on page one are available to page 2...

Navigation back to anchors on another page

How do I make a navigation link go to an anchor on the "home" page of this site?

by selecting the linked button inside the flyout menu at the top left, I click on any one of the persistent nav links at the top of the page and am returned to the home page.
However, after briefly showing the "anchored" location the page jumps to the top (header) anchor.
Can this be made to work where the page returned to stays at the location of the anchor?
Also, the home page display an error when I try to view it on an iPhone or iPad.
I see this: "MuseJSAsset: Error calling selector function: TypeError: "undefined" is not an object" when using an iPad.
The error message shown on the iPhone is similar but a little different.
After clearing the error messasge by tapping "OK" the page displays at the bottom anchor (contact)
Does the problem have anything to do with the embedded html for the "Jotform"contact form?
Or the obfuscated link to the email link just above it?

Your site is working fine for me, but I have just finished a site that is having the same issue, and in Chrome, Firefox. For instance, if I navigate to http://www.arnicare.com/adventure/rules.html and then click any link on the menu (which all link to anchors on the home page), I see the anchored content and then am returned to the top of the page. In IE, I get returned to the first anchor on the page (which is not at the top). In Opera, I get returned to the middle of the first section (under the first anchor).
On iPhone, I am not getting any errors, but am having the same anchor problems.

For some reason, when ever I click on a link to go to another page in an existing page like facebook or YouTube, I'm taken back to my main startup home page

I cant navigate inside firefox.... this page here has been the only place that my mouse will take me to any new page... when I try to go to different links inside any of my normal sites, like facebook or youtube, if I click on any link inside them I am taken back to my main home page.... I also can not single click open any of the icons next to the firefox name at the top left of my screen, history, bookmarks, tools, none of those work unless I hold my mouse button down and then scroll down to what I need... I have cleaned my mouse, and it works fine on my husbands comp, and works fine offline on mine... it is only in firefox that I seem to be having a problem... what can I do?

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

Widget to select anchor on another page

I am working on a requirement where I need to provide option to author to create link which should point to anchor placed on some other page. Is there any widget available for this in CQ? If not than can someone help here on how to achieve it.

Implement a cq dialog with an xtype as pathfield .. this will allow the author to
select a page .. customize further to read the anchors and list to select links on that page ..
you may try the javascript route to pop-us a window to display that page and after user selection is

I am sick of yahoo pages appearing when i even click a web link to get to another page on that site. this is rubbish. i am going to ditch you firefox .

On Mac, the most common reason to get this is Spigot or Conduit add-ons. You can check for those on the Add-ons page, either:
* Command+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
Note that such add-ons may have been part of a bundle with something else and may be re-injected into Firefox if the bundle installer is not removed from your system.

Auto collapse menu linked to anchors on a page

I've got a long(ish) page that I want the viewer to be able to "jump" to various areas. I'm trying to do this with a vertical menu inside an accordion. See http://thesalusburyfoodstore.businesscatalyst.com/pizza-delivery-menu.html for an example of where I'm at.
If you view the page above, you will notice that although the accordion is initially closed, as soon as the "menu" part is opened, it stays open. I need to be able to make the menu close back up to the top "Quick jump to section" part, once a menu choice is made by the user. This is pinned to the top of the browser.
Is this possibele? Perhaps I'm using the wrong widget for this?

I have the same problem. I've created an alternate mobile site. I put a vertican dropdown menu inside an accordion widget.
This type of system works fine when the menu takes one to w new page; but!, when there is one long page and the menu links to an anchor further down the page, the menu stays open after clicking. This is not good! The menu needs to collapse after making a selection. Adobe should add this as an option, somehow. I don't know if the option belongs in the accordion widget or the menu widget.

Linking a footer to another page on your Master page?

I would like to have a Terms and Conditions link, along with some others that are all on the bottom footer of the Master Page. How do I create this and link it? Do I have to creat child sites under each page I make and link to it some how?

1. In your Master page create the text "Terms and Conditions".
2. Place the text in your footer area.
3.Select the text and check the "Footer" radio button to assign the text as a footer. (located on the top tool bar)
4 Select the text and link it to the Terms and Conditions page you created. (locate the box beside the word "Hyperlinks:" on the top tool bar, select the box and drop down will appear with all the pages you created, select the page and the text will be linked to that page.)

PHP/MySQL - Nav links pass variable to another page? Or?

I'm a PHP/MySQL beginner. I'm digging through books and tutorials as best I can, but finding myself a little lost in the sheer volume of information. If someone can point me in the right direction for this task, I'd really appreciate it.
I have a database (MySQL) with two tables. One is a list of carpets, and the other a list of the categories of carpets and information about those categories.
The "carpets" table has a field for each record to indicate which category that carpet belongs to.
I'm trying to do this:
- A navigation bar listing the categories
- When you click on a category, a "gallery" page opens, display the carpets (name, description, photo) of each carpet in that category
Does Dreamweaver have server behaviors for this? If not, can anyone give me a general idea of what the code is I need to write to make this happen?

I believe I've done exactly what you described above; only my naming is slightly different.
catID in my database is "category_id"
page.php in my application is "navbar.php"
detail.php in my application is "gallery.php"
When I view navbar.php in the browser and click on one of the links, the resulting URL is like this:
gallery.php?2=
or
gallery.php?3=
etc.
I'm pasting the whole code from navbar.php and gallery.php below, in case it's is helpful for you to have a look at it (and you have the time to).

Link to anchor in swf / page reload

Hi
I want to link to a frame label from html text below my swf.
For example:
<a href="Maps.aspx#bostonmap">Vew the Boston map</a></p>
I want that to refresh the page and then jump to the frame "bostonmap" when i click the link. Right now, when I click it, the url changes but the page does not reload. Is there a way to force the reload?

This is not really true that you could only do this in Javascript. You could do this in many languages like PHP as well, where you would make the link to yourpage.php?part=anchorname and that would force a page reload, then you could test the variable name and redirect with PHP to yourpage.php#anchorname.
There are tons of ways you could do this. I would highly recommend staying away from anything that forces a user to have javascript enabled, and handle it with some server side language, that you know will not fail in this instance.

Nothing has changed. A stylesheet is still a stylesheet. And pseudo-classes are still pseudo-classes.
You need to define a set of link states (link, visted, hover, active) for each ID or class name required.
Let's say you want to have red links in your #header and white links in your #footer.
