Link to QT videos and display in media holder on same CF page

I am using a learning object which I downloaded from Macromedia many years ago. The white paper which came with it was very usueful in parts but did not cover this problem. One of the interactions which I was never able to get to work as given was for a video to play in a placeholder when one of five links on the same page was selected. This really is a very neat elearning object and although Macromedia also left out two of the sets of videos the rest would be very useful for me to deploy with a client. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the missing movies let me know.

I did it once - however, I am not sure if Portal 10.1.2 has support for MIME types other than text/plain. I implemented a JSP solution and this is what I did :
1. I have a Servlet that checks the choice of output i.e, html or Excel.
2. The Servlet first renders the page in HTML, with a link that invites the user to "Export" the report to Excel. The Servlet forwards the rendering to a JSP ( which is a Portlet ).
3. If the link is click, the same Servlet is invoked - thsi time, I made the Servlet to render the output as Excel using the usual code: response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
4. The same output is rendered in Excel.
The Servlet was not a Portlet - I had to do this workaround as Oracle Portal 9.0.4 wouldn't support the content-type application/vnd.ms-excel
Thus, the HTML rendering was done via a JSP, which is a Portlet. THe PDF / Excel redering was done by a Servlet, which is not a Portlet.
I would be interested to know if 10.1.2 ( & the later verions ) support the Excel / PDF MIME Types.

Yes, I do agree there is no need to create an additional DAD when we want to call a procedure from infrastructure database (iasdb) because giving grant to public or portal_public schema is enough.
But why is it that even after following the right way to create a DAD for HR schema in infrastucture database fails to call a procedure?
The error which I get is:-
Database Log In Failed
TNS is unable to connect to destination. Invalid TNS address supplied or destination is not listening. This error can also occur because of underlying network transport problems.
Verify that the TNS name in the connectstring entry of the DAD for this URL is valid and the database listener is running.

I have left database connection string blank as the infrastructure database is local.
Is it that I cannot have two DAD for a local database eventhough they point to two different users?

Shouldn't be a problem, unless you want to view it in Full Screen Mode at the same time with only one display.

I have already added this in my ProcessRequest, the issue I am facing is it the submit button is disabled while I load >the page which is fine. but when I do a search and the query returns rows still the submit button is disabled.---Will nt reuired SPEL here..

Jerky Video and Display Driver Error

We use CS3 at our production house. My editor has told me he is now getting jerky videos and the following error. This pops up in a yellow triangle at the bottom of the screen which when I click on it, an Events Window is opened.
Error: "Desktop Display Mode has been reset because the video card returned an error. Please reset the Desktop Display Mode in the Playback Settings dialog as this may impact your playback performance."
The computer is a Sony Vaio with 1GB RAM, P4 w/HT, RAID5 of SCSI drives, and ATI Radeon 1600 Pro. We are running Windows XP Pro and Premiere Pro CS3. Supposedly the video just started being jerky the last month or two. Windows update issue? I have tried updating the video card drivers (released March 2009) and also changed the Desktop Display to all three options ... Comptable, Standard and GPU. The video still plays back and exports to tape jerky. However, if we export to an AVI on the local disk, then pull that video back into an older version of Premiere Pro we can export to tape.
Any thoughts!?!?! I have found similar qusetions in other forums, but it seems like no one has an answer.

It is very common for OS updates to render display drivers obsolete, and most people do not even know that these are installed. If you have tried the most recent driver (replaceing an older one), and not helped, it might be something else.
The aspect of the video Exporting poorly, leads me to believe that your system might be underpowered, especially in the I/O sub-system. A slow, fragmented, or full HDD can do the same. That would NOT address the warning message, though. That almost has to be a vid-card, or driver issue.
Also, if your Assets have to be decoded by PrPro, that will tax the system. If you Export as DV-AVI, then the CPU does not need to work overtime on the conversion.
Please give a complete description of the Assest, especially their CODEC's. Please give a system breakdown, paying special attention to the I/O sub-system (HDD's specs. and all configuration details).

Video and display having artefacts

Hi
For the past week or two (maybe its because I am in Greece and the temperature is 36°C and the CPU temp is at 80°C most of the time).
But when I have been capturing video and doing anything that uses a lot of the CPU it seems to have artefacts or stutter on video playback, or the video freezes and the sound continues, etc.
Even on YouTube, etc.
Anything I can do to help this? Zap the VRAM/PRAM??

I put videos on my i-pod and they used to play normally, then all of a sudden it started acting up my vidoes are all scrambled and staticy and now there are little black lines on my screen that keep spreading, it started off as two little black spots right in the middle of my screen and in the matter of four days spread all the way across the screen. My music still plays normally it's just the video and these lines. Do I have a virus in my i-pod or something.

Now when user select one particular row and excute it , the requirement is to flush that ALV displayed and display normal

What do you mean by "Now when user select one particular row and excute it "???
Meaning you do some event like double clicking on that particular row or after selecting it, you will trigger some button?
For 1st condition, make sure you've created an ALV event.
If 2nd one, either you create/modify the ALV toolbar.
Then you can do a simple call screen to exit from that ALV. Or a simple pop up message.

How to create a plugin to open a pop up on right click (using context menu) of any link on any site and display the link url in the pop up

We are developing a Plugin with the specific purpose to display the URL to which any link redirect to on any website.
This URL should appear in the pop up when the user right clicks and selects the "show URL" option in the context menu.
Can some one please help us either to find such plugin (except firebug) or guide us how to develop such a plugin.

Streaming video and music from Media Server to N80

Hi
Has anyone any idea (if it's at all possible) how to stream content (video or music) from Home Media Server on the PC to the phone? I can see how to play content on the PC on another uPnP device using the phone as a remote control and I copy files between the PC and phone, but really I just want to play MP3s from the PC on the phone without copying them across first.

In Home Media Server 3.4, you are not prompted to create a user account and password through the product. User accounts became available in September 2006 with Home Media Server 4.0.
To give Home Media Server 4.0 a whirl, download it for free at:

In addition, the SimpleCenter Knowledge Base and Forum is in the process of being updated. And with luck, the new version will roll out by the end of November 2006. One major change is that the new version will no longer require a username and password to browse the technical articles and forum threads.

Garbled video and display

Sometimes after I use my computer it begins to get this garbled video on screen:
The above picture is just an example. It gets worse though... certain things that require alpha blending (like when the brightness/volume bezels fade out) or even simple things (like scrolling certain windows) makes the video all garbled. Scroll bars will flicker when scrolling. Only happens sometimes and in certain windows.
I have a feeling it's the graphics card, but could it be something simpler to fix, like some corrupt background app?

How to stream video AND sync Music + iPhoto from the same iTunes library ?

Hi everybody, my iTunes library is full of Music and with movies "linked" outside itself (to a external hard disk connected to my iMac), I'd like to sync this iTunes library to my AppleTV as follows:
1) the video should be set in streaming mode hence itself not being copied to ATV hard disk;
2) the music and my iPhoto library should be sync'ed (hence copied!) to ATV hard disk.
How could I achieve that ?
