Link to query Form and auto-execute

What is the secret after creating a link from a report for example, to not only pass the link parameter to a query form, but to cause the form to execute the query.
Currently my query form shows the passed parameter but doesn't auto-execute..

This is exactly the same question I have and there are lots of similar questions in this forum. None of them have replies. Is this question still unanswerable?

  • Relinking Forms and Reports executables

    Hello All,
    I am relinking forms and reports, using below commands, as part of Java 1.7 downgrade.
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32
    $ make -f ins_forms.mk sharedlib install
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32
    $ make -f ins_reports.mk install
    What i found is, the timestamp of the files under these directories($ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32  and  $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32) is not that of today rather it's old timestamp. How to make sure that I have completed this task(relinking forms and reports executables) successfully?
    Thanks,

  • Could query form and result table display at seperate pages

    we are new at html db, there are a few of questions we need to clear before we make decision to use HTML DB to develop our next version of application: (I seperate them at differenct topics).
    * Could query form and query result table display at differenct pages?
    Thanks
    Lei

    yeah, this is surely possible...and quite easy. you'd just set your form page up as you'd like. put a button on that page with a branch to your report page. then have your report query refer to the items you defined on the form page. so if your form page had an item called P1_JOB and P1_DEPTNO you could have your report use those items with a query like...
    select ename, job, sal, empno, deptno
    from emp
    where :P1_JOB = job
    and :P1_DEPTNO = deptno
    ...hope this helps,

  • Make a program in your VI and auto execute it (as in controlling a pilot), how to achieve

    Ok well I have another one for you experts. The goal of my labview programming is to build a VI that controls a small setup with pumps and valves etc. . It's for filtration experiments.
    Now, the user should be able to setup the experiments he wants, save it, and then letting labview auto execute this.
    My global question, where do I start learning how to do this?

    I suggest use some scripting...what i mean to say is...
    1) you deevlop the application (with proper architecture) and give full control to the user (operator) for performing any operation he would like to do.. (like turinig on/off valve setting the required parameters or copyig files ..etc)
    2) Record this Test steps everytime when ever an appropriate action is performed on the UI
    3) Give an option for the user to rearrange the test steps or to modify them and then save them (call it Test scripts).
    4) The test steps can have proper tags for identifying purpose (this will be useful when you run the test scripts later programtaically without the need of user say AUTORUN mode)
    5) Give an option to create the Test suites (which is a collection of test scripts)
    6) Give an option to load and run single or multiple test suites/scripts......
    7)Now have a buttom called 'Autorun" to run all the selected test suites/scripts.
    8)Provide an option for aborting the test script/test suite
    Having typed all these i suddenly remebered why dont you use an combination and "TESTSTAND and LabVIEW" since Teststand will ease your job by doing most of the job said above

  • Help Links in HCM Forms and Process

    Hi Experts,
    We have a requirement where we need to open a pop-up window when user clicks on help link on
    Adobe forms . For this, we have created a Web dynpro Application and whatever application URL we are getting
    We are passing to the Help Link UI element like below.
    app.launchURL(URL, true);
    when user clicks on the help link that webdynpro application is opening.
    But the issue is user donu2019t want to see these URL bar, tool bar , action bar.
    So is it possible to hide these URL bar, tool bar , action bar when the application is launching.
    It should launch just as a window. If it is possible please let me know.
    Thanks,
    santosh

    Why are you doing all of that? Why not simply use the "additional info" configuration to supply the needed URLs? In this way, you will NEVER have to modify the forms if/when a URL changes or more are needed. It is simply a configuration change. Also, you can make these links specific to the current user of that form step and still be able to share the SAME form among users (ie. an HR Admin does not care to see "Manager Help Link" on a form that they possibly share with managers from a previous step). You are creating much more of a headache and maintenance nightmare for yourself.
    Now, that said.....second question....why in the world are you calling some WDA from the form to then launch a URL??!?!?! You can simply place a URL link on the form. Via script, you can also set the window parameters to tell the URL to launch in a new browser window without any toolbars, status bars, etc. Pretty basic Javascript is all you need....not some complicated WDA app.

  • Dynamic link to different form and parameters

    Have a few problems i would like some help on.
    First i will describe what I’m planning to do.
    And I'm sorry if it's a little of the normal way of doing it, but I'm new to the Portal
    Have a list over different trip people shall have possibility to join,
    Some of those trips can are for the person only and others for the whole family.
    So my plan is to show a list of all the trips and then a status saying if
    they already has join it or not.
    Then the person can press the trip (link) and depending on some data,
    they would be transferred to 2 different forms. One for 1 person trip and another for a x person trip.
    Like:
    Trip     | Status | Personal/family
    Golf     | New     | Personal - if pressed open form1
    Boat     | New     | Personal - if pressed open form1
    Dinner     | New      | Family - if pressed open form2
    Soccer     | Accepted |Personal - if pressed open form1
    Tennis | Declined | Personal - if pressed open form1
    I made a report, showing all trip, but i can only make it use 1 link to form1, how do i make the link dynamic
    The next problem is when i open form1, i would like to do some stuff in PL/SQL (Before Page).
    But I have tried to get the parameters from the URL and I cannot get it to work.
    I use something like, but the l_names.count is 0

    l_values owa.vc_arr;
    l_lang varchar2(100) := PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_nls_language;
    l_enroll_id NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_parameters.retrieve(l_names, l_values);
    FOR i in 1..l_names.count
    LOOP
    IF l_names(i) = 'enroll_id' THEN
         l_enroll_id:= l_values(i);
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END;
    What i also want to do is in some cases. Is create a row in a table and populate the form1 with it in the "before page", instead of using query from parameters.
    Like:
    Trip     | Status | Personal/family
    Golf     | New     | Personal - if pressed open form1 and insert data and populate the form with the inserted data
    Soccer     | Accepted |Personal - if pressed open form1 and do the standard query
    How do I do that?

    One way to do this would be to hold the urls for the pages you need to display in a table. You could then build the links as one of the columns of a report using some fancy SQL.<br>
    <br>
    Or you could make a simple function to return the correct link based on the relevant parameters:<br>
    <br>
    create or replace function get_url (p_criteria in varchar2) return varchar2<br>
    is<br>
    lv_url varchar2(500);<br>
    begin<br>
    if p_criteria = 'Personal' then<br>
    lv_url := 'http://host:port/pls/portal/etc...';<br>
    end if;<br>
    etc...<br>
    return '&LT;a href="' || lv_url || '"&GT;' || p_criteria || '&LT;/a&GT;';<br>
    end;<br>
    <br>
    Your report could then include the function as one of the columns in your report.<br>
    Not very elegant but it should do the job.

  • FORMS AND REPORTS EXECUTABLES IN DATABASE

    I HAVE MY ORACLE 7.3.4 DATABASE IN SUN SOLARIS AND MY USERS IN
    WINDOWS 9x/NT/2000, I ALSO HAVE DE SOURCE OF MY FORMS 5.0 AND
    REPORTS 3.0 OBJECTS IN THE DATABASE, BUT I DON'T KNOW A WAY TO
    STORE THE EXECUTABLES OF THIS OBJECTS IN THE DATABASE TO, DOES
    ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO?

    When u store the .fmb file in the database u r actually storing
    the Definition of the Form only. Not the fmb file. So there is
    no separate storing of .fmb and .fmx.
    Oracle stores these form definitions in database tables. same
    applies to reports also.
    Someone correct me if I am wrong.
    Hope this helps.

  • Web connect and auto execute websites

    Starting this week, when i clikc on a link, I get the link and a second link is executed and displayed. The secon link is an advertisement link for Instant Checkmate. How do I stop this?
    Also, starting this week, articles have highlights with double underlines. These links execute a web connect to an article or advertisement. How do i get rid of this?
    If this is something mozilla implemented and cannot be turned off, the i will have to switch to a different browser.

    No, that's not something that Mozilla implemented - sounds like Malware or an "extra feature" provided by an extension.
    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

    If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item:<br>

    If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

    Yes, in Keychain.

  • Linking PE51 Form and SAPScript Form

    I have found quite a few posts on this topic but I didn't find anything conclusive.
    We have an SAPScript form and a PE51 form. We run the Pre-program DME where we specify the PE51 form name. Then we run the DME program. But the form is not generated.
    I just wanted to understand the right method to link the PE51 form to the SAPScript form. I have read about 525-HR and REGUD-TXTHR. Can anyone please explain in detail what these are and how they help in linking the PE51 form and the SAPScript?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vidya.

    I have really not found an answer to this one, but still closing it as need to post more questions!

  • Copying links from published forms - not working for all!

    I currently have two web based forms open.  I am trying to allow others to view the results and feedback and have therefore published both forms.  I have then copied the links from each forms and created links to them via a Sharepoint site.  One of these links works fine whilst the other states 'That URL is not in the correct format for an Acrobat.com document link.'.
    Any advice on how to fix this?

    Hi;
    When you paste the URL directly into a web browser does it display the results correctly?  If it does then it seems it would be related to how the link is embedded in the sharepoint site.  Double check that you've copied and pasted the URL correctly.  Is the Sharepoint site a public site you could share the URL with me to take a look at it?  If so you can email me at [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Josh
