Linking to a page not created by iWeb?

Good day everyone -
Just a quick question, is there a way to link to a webpage not created by iWeb. I don't currently own iWeb, but it is coming with my new MBPro. I really like the way Adobe Lightroom creates SWF pages for gallery use, can I create a link inside iWeb to direct visitors to a webpage created with another software program? Thanks in advance everyone.

Yep, it's a piece of cake. The lLink connection inside the software's inspector allows you to link internally or externally.
I have several such connections on my pages, for example see:

The first is iWeb. The second is not.

Link to files not created in iWeb?

I tried some of iWeb yesterday, I don't have a .mac, so I publish to a folder, but it seems it can only inter-connect pages created in itself only.
Say I want to add a link to a pdf file for downloading on my page, I can't find where should I put the pdf file.
I tried to publish to a folder first, then put the pdf file in the folder just created by iWeb, then make a link to the pdf file in iWeb. But if publish again, iWeb will remove anything not created by iWeb from the folder, so the pdf file I just put in disappears.
Does anybody how to solve this problem?
and btw, how do I myself manage the folder structure when publishing, I don't like iWeb put everything in one folder.

First upload your PDF file to the remote server you'll ftp iWeb's published folder to, then use the file's remote address in iWeb's Link Inspector.

Is it possible to embed a page I created in iweb into say perhaps a CL ad?

I noticed some craigslist ads that open up to a site page such as this:

I would like to do this with a page I created on iweb such as this:

If this is not possible with iweb what do I need to do to make this happen?

If you look at that Craig's List posting you linked to it is an image. So you would need to make a jpg image of your iWeb page and link it to the ad using the add photos section of your ad.. An easy way to make a jpg/gif/pdf file of a web page is to use Paparazzi@.
You could post a link to the web page but adding a jpg version would be better IMO.

How to create links to other pages i create??

I have finished my "homepage" and it has 5 buttons on it.("home",
"Contact us", etc.).
I have no idea how to create links to other pages i create.
For example, if the user clicks on "Contact us", i wnat contact information
to appear. So, do i create another html document that will contain contact
information and then call that page whenever the user clicks "Contact us". Or
do i just create another applet that contains contact information and display
the applet in the appropriate area, whenever the user clicks "contact us".
Hope that wasnt confusing. Bascially, I am sitting here looking at my buttons, not knowing
what code to put under the actionPerfomed part of each button.

... judging from your question... the best way i think is to create another page...
.... so when ur user clicks on Contact Us..... he/she will be taken to another page...
there are other techniques besides this.... but it is always better to stick with the easiest one
... so you need to create separate pages for all of your links....

the % sign is often used when there's a space in a name. HTML doesn't like spaces so it fills them with % or %20
try, on the end of that link, see if there's a space built into the page or the link when the page was made
On the web address you may be able to 'backspace' at the end and erase that space to get the address, but whomever made the page possibly put a mistake in the link

Behance links result in "page not found"

In the Behance tab of the Creative Cloud app there are two buttons, "Add work" and "View profile".
Whenever these are clicked a new browser opens with the message:

Do I have to be a DBA in order to view the alert log? I only have access to tables and information through APEX, I'm just a developer, I don't know how to access the alert log through APEX and the information on the pages you provided does not appear to use APEX in order to display this information. If only a DBA can view the alert log, how would I ask it of them to view this information? That is, where do I tell them to look and what are they looking for?
Back to my original question and your last question about it, the URL I get when I get the "page not found" goes from being "https://esddev.wvu.edu/ncf/f?p=104:5:..." to "https://esddev.wvu.edu/wvu404error.html". It looks like this is a custom-created page intended to handle errors, however I have gotten errors in the past which did not lead to the "page not found" page. Would this be something set up by a DBA?
I wish there was a way to show you more of what I've done. Do you want me to include my PL/SQL? I have the PL/SQL which generates the checkboxes, and I have the PL/SQL which is supposed to either save the information into a new table or delete the record. Let me know if that might help you.

Web page not loading with iweb

I have a problem with my web page loading.
I have set up my domain name and forwarded it to my .mac account.
but when I enter http://www.paulphillips.ca it goes to the apple/dotmac.com web site
if I enter either of these three variations it works:
paulphillips.ca
www.paulphillips.ca
http://paulphillips.ca
I was wondering if a few people could try all these and let me know which ones work.
I'm not sure if it has something to do with the cache of the computer I am using or maybe it is a problem at the company that forwards my domain name.

Alternatively you could simply hyperlink to the already published pages. It's also possible to link to an external page from iWeb's navigation bar:
Create a blank internal page titled whatever you want. Then in that blank page add just an HTML Snippet with the following code:
<script type="text/javascript">
parent.window.location = "http://www.externalsite.com/page"; // change this to your own URL
</script>
...Once published, clicking on that new page in the navbar will immediately redirect to your external page. (Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code).

Href link in JSP page not working?

Hi All,
I am creating a web app that at various points accesses various files from a local repository (the app will be installed on WAS instances on local servers and the repository will be on the server with a WAS variable pointing to its location - so the web app knows where it is)
On my web page I am trying to have a list of links to generated reports that will be stored in the repository:

</td>where stubHome is the location of the root of the repository and serviceArray is a list of the specific report names.
When I view the site the "View results" link appears as normal (blue/underlined) and when I hover the mouse over the link I see in the bottom left of the IE window "file:///D:/stubRepo/reports/Service1.html" - which is the correct the name/location of the stored report - and if i just paste that link into my address bar on teh browser then the file opens.
However, if i try to click on the link directly on my web page nothing happens and there are no signs of anything happening... any ideas what might be wrong?

This is a bad approach. Use JSTL/EL.
"file:///D:/stubRepo/reports/Service1.html" - which is the correct the name/location of the stored reportDo you realize that this path refers to the local filesystem? Do you also realize that this file must be available at every client who is visiting your website?

How to check links on a page without creating a site?

Setting up a site in Dreamweaver is a chore when all I'm developing is one html landing page, an html email, mockup presentation, testing source code, ...
Is there a any way Dreamweaver can check absolute urls to external sites or local relative image urls aren't broken without having to config a site?
Or maybe there's a service I can paste the html into and it'll tell me if links are broken?

Pages that are online are not showing in iweb

i want to edit some of the pags i created in iweb which are now on the web. the problem is that the pages do not show up when i open iweb...only my welcome page. is there a way to get the pages from my idisk into iweb so i can edit and add to them? thanks....gail

Mount your iDisk (Finder Go menu).
Open Web/Sites/iWeb and double click the index.html file to view your older pages.
Copy the URL and you can link it to new iWeb pages.
If the files pages can't be found when you open iWeb then you must have done something to your User/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites file as that is where your "local" copies exist.

Links and photo gallery not working!

I've just created a website by iWeb. After publishing the site in the local folder I've uploaded the entire contents to the server by FTP. From local folder it works fine but while trying to view online, the links between the pages not working (even not visible) at the same time my photo gallery is also not working (not visible). I was using Safari in mac.The same problem occurs while I am trying to browse the site from in my pc (copied the file in a local folder) and using Google Chrome and Internet Explorer
If anyone can tell me what is the possible error?

From viewing your site it's apparent that not all of the files are being uploaded to the server. Particularly those in the Scripts folder.
Have you opened your locally published site with your browser and checked it out? I think you'll find that the navbar will display correctly on both pages and the rest of the site will properly.
What ftp client are you using to upload the files? If you haven't tried the free Cyberduck client give it a try. Many users have found it to be successful where other clients were having problems.

Links to Photo Pages Don't Work After Publish

I have a page with different photos that I would like to link to different "galleries" (iWeb photo pages):

The links to these internal pages work just fine within iWeb, but when I publish (I use Fetch to ftp the site to Yahoo host), the links no longer work.
I created each of these photo pages using an iWeb template and dragging and dropping an iPhoto album to each page, and I suspect this may have something to do with it, but I really have no idea. Can anyone help me figure this one out?

I meant that I use Yahoo web hosting, and I transfer all of my site files from my Mac HD to the host, via the Fetch ftp program.
All of my site's pages were created in iWeb. The photo pages themselves are internal pages (within the site) that I purposefully left out of the site navigation menu in order to keep things clean. I want users to navigate to these different photo pages from a "gallery selection" page (the STAFFPICS page).
All of the other links within the site appear to be working properly (hyperlinks are active).

Trying to link a html page in AS3

I made a flash site with a button I want to link to a html page I made. But I don't know what I'm doing. I tried this:

where cele1 is the button name, but that don't work. I know what I need to do to navigateToURL but I want to link a HTML page I created.

Page not found errors

I am stuck with the following error "page not found" when i click on my link. I am trying to use the cgicmd.dat.
In the .dat file:
report: server=Rep60.sony.com userid=#####/#####@dwhs report=%1 %*
In the HTML code:

Yes it is working when i pass the whole thing throught the html string. What i am trying to avoid is the db autho betting passed. I would like to require none what so ever and let the Apache Server do that bidding. But i understand that i have to use the .dat file and i can't make it work for me.
