Linksys e2000 router Open NAT troubleshooting multiple xbox 360's

Hello,
I've been searching for about 4 hours now how to fix my NAT problems. I thought it had it working on one xbox in my bedroom, as it said OPEN NAT. But, when I looked at my Xbox in the living room, it said MODERATE NAT. How can I get these both to say OPEN NAT? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

If you're attempting to game with multiple 360s, port triggering would be your best option.
You might succeed in getting open NAT on both but the issue would be if you'd be able to play the same game on both consoles simultaenously. Since both consoles will use the same Internet port, the game packets will only be sent to one local IP address. Some games support this and some don't so if you're unable to get open NAT on both game consoles, call your ISP and request for another IP address. That should solve everything.

  • WRT1900AC Problem With open NAT with multiple Xbox One's

I am starting a new thread for some possible help with this. I have just recently replaced my r7000 with the wrt1900ac router and for the life of me cannot get my 2 xbox ones in the house to have open nat. Only one of them will show open NAT. Anyone get this to work and work 100% of the time? I have reseverved the IP's. I tried port forwarding.. I tried putting one in the dmz. I have tried port triggering. None of it works. One will be open the other stays at moderate. I have got it in strict before as well. I have upnp on. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. Ideas? Also It seems my router reboot on its own and turning the LED's off after a reboot the wireless led's come on. Seems like a bug.

Hewligun, found this on another Linksys thread, it appears that Linkysy may need to update their UPnP and all should be good. Original thread:Packet Dropping thread  Excerpt from thread: Re: WRT1900AC packet dropping[ New ] Options  ‎05-01-2014 06:16 PM  I did some research. Microsoft documents that port forwarding will only work for the one xBox in the forwarding rule. In the same document it mentions that the only way to have two xBoxes running at the same location behind a router is with UPnP. The UPnP protocol has be the newest version in order for it to work. I guess the WRT1900AC is running a later version of UPnP in which case a firmware upgrade will solve this. Keep in mind that Microsoft xBox Live itself is having documented issues as well so we can't really know for sure if the UPnP on the WRT1900 is the newer version or not at this point. Look at the affect services in the current xBox Live status: Affected platforms:Xbox Onexbox one outage;Social and Gaming,Xbox 360xbox 360 outage;Social and Gaming, Affected services:Accessing all game featuresJoining other Xbox Live members in online gamesPosting game performance or viewing the performance of other Xbox Live members https://support.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox-live-status

  • WRT54GL Open Nat with 2 Xbox 360s

    Hi All,
I've been searching all over for this answer and at last have decided to post here on the forums.  I am running a Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 router with the latest firmware from the website: v4.30.14.  With this setup, I am having a helluva time trying to get 2 Xboxs wired into the router to show OPEN NAT on Xbox Live.  I can get one of them working, but when I bootup a second Xbox it either comes up as Moderate NAT or Strict NAT.  Often times when playing on Xbox Live with that second router, it will get disconnected most likely due to a Strict NAT.  My router configuration is running Automatic DHCP with a Mac Address filter for security.
Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this to work? c4

Yes, you can try to trigger the ports instead of forwarding the ports.
Who is your Internet service provider?
Open the setup page of the router and go to status tab. Check the Internet IP address on the status page.
All the settings seems to be correct.
did you try to upgrade the firmware on your router?
If not then try to upgrade/re-flash the firmware on your router.
Connect the computer with the Ethernet cable to the router.
Download the latest firmware from Linksys website and save it on your computer. Open the setup page of the router. Click on Administration tab and go to Firmware upgrade sub tab. Browse the firmware file that you have already downloaded and upgrade it on your router.
After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.

  • WRT160N V1 Open Nat on 3 Xbox 360(s) Possible for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2?

    All connected wireless.
Possible?  If so please assist or direct me to a router that would work.
I'm using the Motorolla SB5101 connected to Cable at about 25 Mbps.

So you need to Open NAT on all your 3 XBOX's. Well i don't think its possible, never tried to make the NAT open on 3 XBOX. Yes but 2 XBOX can work with your Router and the NAT will be open on your Router.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter... Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox , IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox, Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...
On you need to Assign a Static IP on your 2nd XBOX. the IP address should be 192.168.1.30, Subnet , Default Gateway, and the DNS should be the same as of your 1st XBOX.
On your Router page, under the Application and Gaming tab  you need to click on the Sub tab "DMZ" and you need to Enable DMZ and input the IP address of your 2nd XBOX and click on Save Settings...
For your 3rd XBOX you can try to Enable Port Triggering and open the same ports : 53 to 3074 and click on Save Settings...
Now you need to restart your all the 3 XBOX's and check if the NAT is Open.

  • Open NAT to New Xbox 360

I just replaced a brand new Xbox 360 arcade with an Xbox 360 Elite.
When the Arcade Console was hooked up it showed the NAT on my WRT54GS version 1.51.0 router as "OPEN".
After I replaced it with the Elite console it shows the NAT on my WRT54GS version 1.51.0 router as "Moderate".
To host games it needs to be open.
So can anyone help me get it to "OPEN"?

Do you have the ports forwarded for your XBOX on router?

I had this same problem, I had to enable three things. enable UPnP, enable Allow users to make congiguration changes, enable Allow users to disable internet access. You most likely have the first two I mentioned enabled but the last one is the one I didn't have enabled and once I enabled then I had open NAT

    Linksys E3200 High-Performance Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router
the nat type for xbox 360 and ps3, what is it when you set the router up out of the box? are the nat types open moderate or strict

Hi there. It actually depends if the gaming consoles ports are not blocked by your ISP. Moderate NAT type limits your connection playing online games, Strict does not allow you any connection at all while Open allows you to play with everyone online. Have you had a router before with Open NAT on the gaming consoles? Try to check without the router by going directly to the modem and see if your NAT type is open or strict or moderate. If ever modem is fine and it is the router not working right you can port forward ports on the router. I found these usual ports online, for XBOX live:TCP and UDP ports:  80-88, 3074-3074, 4267-4269. For PS380, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080 and UDP: 3478, 3479.

  • Compatible linksys router for multiple xbox 360

Are there any models of linksys routers that will support multiple xbox 360 online at same time?
Any and all models that would work is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance

I believe all Linksys routers should work with multiple Xbox consoles. But here are my top three routers: WRT1900AC, EA9200, and EA6900.
Also, keep in mind that it is not recommended to play two Xbox 360 units on the same network connected to the same game server since the modem will only generate a single WAN IP address.  However, you may secure another WAN IP address from your ISP to connect the two Xbox 360.

  • Reset Linksys E2000 router and now my HP-6310 is Offline.

I recently reset my wireless Linksys E2000 router...changed network SSID name and WPA security key and now no one on my home network can print to the HP-6310. I am running Windows 7 and when I go to Devices and Printers, &  double-click on HP Officejet 6300 Series, it shows the printer is "offline". My printer is configured as a network printer and is connected to my router via Ethernet cable. How do I get it back online and printing again?
    Would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Gary

Delete all instances of the printer in Devices & Printers.  Re-add it with this method:
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing. Get its IP from a Network Test printed from the front panel of the printer.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Devices & Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Opening NAT settings for Xbox

So recently I tried opening NAT settings so I could use my Xbox Live more efficiently. Unfortunately, I know nothing about computer networking. Is there anything I can do to get this up and working?

Unfortunately, the AirPorts are not listed as Xbox Live-compatible routers ... so there is no guarantee doing this will get Open NAT status for Xbox Live!
The following web blog does a great job explaining the NAT issues with Xbox Live! Basically what it comes down to is that although you can get an Internet connection for the Xbox with the AirPorts, you may not get the necessary NAT setting (Moderate or Open) for the Xbox Live! on-line game that you want to play. As such, you basically have two options: 1) Create a DMZ (Apple calls this a Default Host) for the XBox or 2) Configure the AirPort for Port mapping to open the required ports to allow Xbox Live! access ... or 3) Use a compatible router.
    Option 1 - Create a DMZ
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT
Enable default host at: <Enter the IP Address for the XBox>
Option 2 - Configure Port Mapping
The following ports must be available for Xbox Live to operate correctly:
    UDP 88
    UDP 3074
    TCP 3074
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the Xbox 360.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab
Click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
    Reserve address by: MAC Address
    Click Continue.
MAC Address: <Enter the MAC hardware address of the Xbox or the MAC address of the wireless depending on how you connect the XBox to the network.>
IPv4 Address: <enter the desired Private IP address>
    Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT > Configure Port Mappings
    Click the "+" (Add) button
Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    Public UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Public TCP Port(s): 3074
Private IP Address: <enter the DHCP Reserved IP address for the Xbox you created earlier>
    Private UDP Port(s): 88, 3074
    Private TCP Port(s): 3074
    Click "Continue"

  • Linksys E2000 router is incompatible with Linux?

Hi All, I have Cisco/Linksys E2000 router setup for home wireless network. I had been setup while ago and well working since then. Now the challenge: I need to know or to change the wireless guest network password. Linux support says it can be done ONLY using a local application, not the web interface. And only from Windows computer. In my situation, I have Linuxes, blackberry, players and other network equipment but no Microsoft software. I did not know that router doesn't work with Linux when I bought it. Had anybody resolved similar issue? Thanks Yu

Sorry the software is only supported on Windows or MAC.  You will need this to administer the Guest network.

  • Open NAT problems with Xbox One .

When I first got my 1900ac I used Media Priortization to get an open NAT for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on my Xbox One ; prioritizing the Xbox . It worked fine for about 6 months until I changed cable/net provider to Nextech in Ks. This company uses the 1900ac to hook up it's system for all it's customers ( since I already had one they're using mine ). Unfortunately I'm unable to get an open NAT in this game anymore ; I've tried just about everything , NAT forwarding , triggering , Media Prioritization . Nextech support & Xbox Live support , useless . Tried Portforward . com , nothing . Forwarding port 53 cuts off net connection & doing the static ip change for Xbox didn't help . Almost everything I've looked at seems out of date & I'm at my wits end . It would seem by now Linksys should have solutions available , any ideas ?

Thank you chin_pamz13 for your response . I tried to check if my modem had a public or private ip address but I'm not sure how to do that ; I've read about double NAT's elsewhere . Regardless , I think I've finally found a solution that seems to be working so far . I went to the website " tech - recipes . com " & found an article , " Xbox One open NAT " by Aaron St. Clair . I tried his first suggestion about port triggering , with extra ports I had'nt seen before . That did not work for me so I followed his instructions for putting the Xbox in the DMZ & it's working ! I think my problems from before were the result of improperly setting up the static ip address for my router & Xbox . Previous instructions had me changing the ip in the console along with the router ; Aaron said not to do so in the Xbox , let the router do the work it's supposed to do & make sure the settings in the console are on automatic . In the router at the DMZ , I was'nt sure how to proceed , but at the bottom is a section labeled DHCP reservations list ; clicked on that , saw XboxOne , clicked on that & it filled out the MAC address above for me . Then I went to the Xbox network settings , advanced settings & clicked " automatic " at ip address , subnet & DNS . I checked mutiplayer connections & did the " hold bumper & trigger buttons " trick & finally got an open NAT ; fired up CoD Advanced Warfare & got the open NAT there also . I may have screwed up when I did the port triggering but since the DMZ fix seems to work I'm going to leave things alone . Hope this helps others with open NAT problems .

  • Trying to change NAT connection from moderate NAT connection to an open NAT connection for XBOX LIVE

Hi, I have a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router/WRT160Nv2 and I have been trying to change my NAT connection from a moderate NAT connection to a open NAT connection for my Xbox Live on my Xbox 360. I can sign into my Xbox Live account but it is working on a moderate NAT connection. I have already enabled the UPnP and put in the proper port numbers. After doing that I signed into my Xbox Live on my Xbox 360 and tested my Xbox Live connection and still it says that I a moderate NAT connection. I do not know what elso to do and I would greatly appreciate step by step help from anybody who knows what they are doing. PLEASE HELP ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!
    Thank you

A known issue with Linksys routers is the NAT Type 3 or anything related to dropping of Internet connectivity during play time.  Network Address Translation (NAT) is the ability of a router or firewall to translate a public IP address to a private IP address and vice versa.  It adds security to the network by keeping the private IP addresses hidden from the outside world.

  • WRT54GS V7 NAT TO OPEN, HOW? For xbox 360 live

I recently got a new modem DSL modem so I had to re start my wireless Linksys router settings to factory default. I use AT&T DSL.
I got my network all set up again and can connect to Xbox Live fine. My desktop has the DSL modem and router plugged into it. Thats in another room. Im in my room on my laptop, with my Xbox 360 next to me. I used to plug the ethernet cable from the 360 to my laptop, and I could get online fine.
But once I connected today, it said my NAT was set to Strict.
How can I set my NAT to open, or even Moderate. Because as of right now, I cant really join ANY games online at all. (I tried with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2)
    Thanks

As you have DSL modem, you need to convert the modem into the bridge mode to make your X-Box working.
