Linux - Can't move menu or enable menu bar button (like Windows)

I have used Firefox 4.0 betas on both Windows and Linux. I notice that unlike Windows, Linux doesn't seem to have the ability to hide the menu under the button which says 'Firefox'.
I also cannot move the menu bar and place it on the navigation bar for example. I like to minimise on toolbars but because of the way this is designed, this does not seem possible on Linux. On 3.6.9 I use an add-on which consolidates all of the menu bar items onto one called menu, and then I add the navgation bar to this bar as well as buttons, and then I can remove one of the toolbars. With 4.0 beta however this is not possible if one wants to use tabs on top.
Can anyone confirm if the single menu button functionality as available on Windows will be coming to Linux? Given how many betas have been released I'm concerned time is running out for this feature.
I had previously found a support page which revealed that the Windows version has an extra toolbar which Linux does not have. I cannot find that link currently however.

There has been some progress on this. To implement the Firefox button on Linux, 3 separate patches to the code need to be added. The first has just been added and the developer who is working on this hopes to get the remaining 2 patches available over the weekend. Still no guarantees that it will make it but it does look hopeful.
There is a limited time frame for this to be implemented, beta 7 is planned to be the beta that is "feature complete", new features should not land after this. If the patches have not landed by beta 7 then Firefox 4 may ship without the Firefox button on Linux.

2. Open Photoshop Elements. Make sure following option is checked:
Edit>Preferences>General: Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode
3. Create a new floating document and drag it to the second monitor.
Start working on the first monitor(having PSE) with canvas on second monitor....

the think the answer is No to both your questions.
I don't see a way to move the microphone, also can't hide it w/o disabling siri.

I use a couple of external hard disks, one with Time Machine for every day back-ups and another for occasional back-ups of large work files and videos I have purchased. It bothers me to see them sitting up there in the top right hand corner of my screen. Yes.
You can drag the drive icon from the desktop into the Dock.
Then you can go to Finder > Preferences > General > Show these items on the desktop > uncheck External disks, and it should stay in the dock but not show on the desktop.
There are third party apps that will give you Finder-like access to things in your Menu Bar, like Download XMenu for Mac - Menubar item lists/launches apps, and more. MacUpdate.com , but I would avoid third party GUI-changing apps like this if I were you, as they tend to be problematic, and install background processes which slow down your mac.

Can not move mail through Message menu

Since a few minutes ago, I can not "move", "copy" or "move again" any messages to folders via the message menu. The options are greyed out. All I can do is drag mail to folders. Once I drag something, that folder name will show up in the "move again" option.
I have rebooted but still behaves the same.
I do not use the cloud for any function, so this is just specific to mail on my computer/

After shutting down for the night and restarting 8 hours later, the menu options have mysteriously come back.
I did several shutdown/restarts last night with no effect. Don't understand what is happening, but seems back to normal.

Tempo changes - can't move them when I delete bars or beats

I have written in many tempo changes in a project, both immediate changes and drawn curves to create rallentandos. I then decide to eliminate a few bars, say, in the middle of the piece, then shift all the regions together where the deleted bars have left a gap.
When I move the regions, the tempo automation does not move.
How can I move tempo changes to match the bars I've just deleted?

I have not done this for a while, but I think you need to hit "select all" in the arrange window and then use the cut/insert time command in the track menu to do your cutting. That should move everything appropriately.

How can I move files using the title bar

I am using Mountain Lion, latest release (10.8.4) and am wondering if there is some secret options which would allow me to move files by clicking on the title bar (of e.g. preview) and moving it to a directory.
Unfortunately, I can only either create a link or copy the file. Moving seems to be deactivated, though I have learned from other forums posts that this was working under Tiger.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on the application. iCloud-aware applications (Preview, Pages, etc) have the behavior you describe, and you can't move a file by dragging the thumbnail icon, but there is a small popup triangle to the right of the filename which contains the option "Move To" - you can then select your destination. It's not as seamless and dragging and dropping, though, I agree.
Non-iCloud-aware apps, like Office 2011, still allow drag-to-move from the titlebar icon.

Can't remove new pop-up title bar on background windows

Firefox accidentally updated somehow while I was away & now I have a popup title bar appearing on background windows (as in my dual monitor) that covers my data until I make that window active.
I don't know what it's called, so can't term-search it.
Can't find any references to it.
It's driving me insane & I'm clueless for once.
I don't like that.

How can you move video files to a PC operating system windows xp that are bigger than 500mb?

Iam trying to move video files from my iPad to my PC but because they are all over 500mb my OS (windows Xp) will not let me. So I am presently stuck with them on my iPad. Is there another way to move them. Please help!

On a Mac, can you navigate menus with one handed key strokes like Windows?

On a Mac, is there anyway to navigate menus with one handed keyboard strokes like you can in Windows? My girlfriend is a graphic designer and switched from Windows to Mac. She misses being able to use the Alt key and make menu selections. On Windows she can press "Alt" and then move through menus and submenus with one hand on the keyboard. When you press "Alt" the first letter of every menu is highlighted. When she presses a certain letter the menu drops down, and the first letter of every submenu is then highlighted. She can then navigate through all the submenus until she hits the selection she wants, all using the left hand on the keyboard. It's very fast and efficient. Can you do something similar to this on a Mac?
The reason she wants to do this is because when she is in Photoshop, she likes to use her right hand on the mouse with the cursor inside the canvas (sketching, moving layers around) while she makes menu commands with the left hand. It is 10 times faster this way than using the mouse for everything. Hot keys are not the same because you must have those memorized. With the "Alt" key function, you can open a drop down menu, see the choices, and make your selection.
I have been a Mac person my whole life, and I have to say, it's a pretty awesome function. I really want the Mac to have something similar.

Is there a way to re-enable or add the scrollbar buttons (on the top and bottom of vertical scrollbars or on the left and right of horizontal scrollbars) in Gnome (GTK) 3?

Nice. I searched for those properties and set the values to 1 in my theme's gtk-widgets.css file (my theme is RevoLT by Malys) then refreshed the theme (by changing to a different theme then changing back) but nothing happened and there were no scrollbar buttons.
It worked after logging out then logging back in though. Is there a way to refresh themes in the classic "Fallback Mode" without logging out and in? Gnome Shell allows you to do Alt+F2 then run the "r" command but in fallback mode that doesn't work.
On another note, It's nice that the buttons can be turned on/off inside a theme's CSS, but I think it'd be more user friendly (maybe not for Archers, but especially for many Ubuntu users ) to be able to toggle this setting from within Gnome's "System Settings" (instead of theme designers deciding for us). Designers would simply design for both cases while letting users make the final decision in System Settings (or even gconf/dconf for that matter).

Can I stop Itunes adding stupidly small files? Like Windows/Game audio?

Ok, I've got 10 years of backups, all with windows and games folders in them as well on a single 1TB drive... I want to be able to select the whole drive, and only dig out the music...
I cant even find an option in Itunes to "Not add files smaller than X" or "Not add files with less runtime than Xseconds"
It's really making the whole thing hard, cause I'd like to be able to press "Coalate" or whatever to merge them all into the Itunes folder for some organisation.
Any ideas? Plugins or what have you?

Nothing automatic. As far as iTunes and any other media player is concerned mp3 files are music no matter the size. Same with midi and wav.
You should be able to do some of this yourself using Windows search features. Do a search, sort the search by size then copy the files to one location. Add the contents of that location to iTunes.

The navigation elements are menu items,. you have to enable the menu UID in your form and catch the menu events, but don't forget to check for the formtype/formuid of the form where teh menu event occurs (Application.ActiveForm)

The easiest way to move bookmarks around is in the Bookmarks Organizer, which at some point was renamed the Library. To open it, you can choose Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks or press Ctrl+Shift+b.
(Please note that the sort order of the Library dialog doesn't actually carry over to the menu. To sort the menu alphabetically, it's easiest to open the Bookmarks Sidebar, right-click the words Bookmarks Menu and choose Sort by Name.)
