Teradata and SAP BI7.3 Connection

Hi experts,
I have requirement to extract data from Teradata to SAP BI7.3, I have gone through some of the links in SDN which was suggest to go for UD connection with JDBC
1.In SAP BI7.3 is there any other way of connecting Teradata ( As all links referred to old version i.e BW3.5 and UD Connector)
2.Does any body have step by step document,
3.What are the Pros and Cons of using UD connector? Can I use DB connector ? and which is the best possible way to get data from Teradata.

You need to deploy the JDBC drivers for Teradata
Once done you need to create a connection string in the Java stack under the Connector Container.
There is a document available on the Teradata site with the complete steps.
The procedure is same like for other databases. Follow that

Hi All,
I try to pull data from SAP BW through SSIS 2008.
I already applied all the configuration requirements in Microsoft paper.
I think something else should be configured on SAP BW but i have no idea what.
Error : SYSTEM_FALIUR with function RSB_API_OHS_3RDPARTY_NOTIFY and target system MSSAPBI.
Bean RSB_API_OHS_3RDPARTY_NOTIFY not found on host ty-stbd, Progid=TY-STBD0_PORTAL_TBD: Object notfound
in the lookup of RSB_API
Error while updating to taget Z101 (type Open Hub Destination)

I have the same requirement, my RFC connection also working fine. Just to add, our SAP runs on Oracle on Unix Platform.
and our SQLSERVER is for 2008 running on windows.
Has any one got any idea about this issue? I found a note, " 1585460 - Error when running DTP to 3rd party Open Hub Destination ",
which says to Implement the necessary function on the 3rd party tool.
can someone Please help how to do that ?

Can SAP HANA be used with SAP LVM to provision customised copies of SAP systems within 24 hours?

I have a requirement to automate the provisioning of new and 'copies of' SAP systems (development and QA environments) within 24 hours.
New systems created - based on a template (e.g. an existing SAP Portal, ECC or BW system)
New systems should have unique SID's
RFC's, IDOC's, printers, profiles, e-mail, etc. all needs to be customisable in each new SAP system
The systems need to be shut down overnight (to save on running costs)
Is this possible with a combination of SAP HANA and SAP LVM?

SAP HANA in LVM will be doable in the near LVM 2.0 latest SP which will come out probably around after october 14 but stay tune as the date might be pushed little due to development changes.
AFAIK from your questions some of the features will support and some already in LVM today.
New systems created - based on a template (e.g. an existing SAP Portal, ECC or BW system) - BSuite on HANA will be supported.
New systems should have unique SID's - LVM use cases such as COPY, CLONE, RENAME will be supported.
RFC's, IDOC's, printers, profiles, e-mail, etc. all needs to be customisable in each new SAP system. Not sure but Post Copy Automation should allow to do this..
The systems need to be shut down overnight (to save on running costs). All VM operations such as power off, power on will be normal as long as you configure VCENTER in LVM.

B.O. XI 31 with SAP Bi7 question,

Hello again experts,
First I so sorry about my sully question.
I've installed B.O. XI 3.1 on Windows 2008 Server 64 bits. I use WebSphere 6.1 for the WAS. Everything is OK.
Now I would like to connect B.O. with my SAP Bi7 server. I think, in a fist time, I need the SAP Integration Kit. Then, I've copied two dll files (librfc32.rfc and sapjco3.dll) into the folder:
"C:\Windows\SysWOW64".
I've copied too the file sapjco3.jar into this folder:
"D:\"My_own_inst_dir"\WebSphere\AppServer\shared\lib"(I'm not sur that the correct folder).
After those thing I do ... nothing because I lost. I relaunch the B.O. setup and choose modify but there is nothing new.
Somebody could help me ?

I placed the dll files into "Windwos\system32" directory of my system.

But one thing that I don't understand in the chapter 2, page 25, where can I find the setup of BusinessObjects XI Integration Kit for SAP ? I've only 3 CD, one for the installation of BO Entreprise, one the client tools and the last is BO Tracker.

Request MDX syntax for BOE XI3.0 and SAP BI7

Does anyone know that where I can find a document to specify the MDX syntax that can be used for BOE XI3.0 and SAP BI7?

      Now I am using SAP BI7.0 server and I am planning to take backup.
I am planning to take the backup only the Metadata Repository. I need only the Structure to take backup because I am not having space to take Database backup so I am planning to take Repository backup only.
Any Once can suggest how to take Metadata Repository from RSA1 t-code.

Check the Key Fields in the DSO.
Ex: Key Fields are EMPID, JOB and Data Fields are Startdate and end date...
When you are trying to load the following data
1221   HR 01.01.2009        12.12.2009
1221   HR 01.01.2010         12.12.2010
Once you hve loaded the above data you will get only one record in DSO.
ONce you include the Startdate and enddate fields in KEYFIELDS of DSO you will get two records.
May be you are also facing the similar issue. Have a check with Key fields of DSO.

Hi,
Its always better to drain the delta queues before an upgrade.
As a standard practice we drain the delta queues by running the IP/ chain multiple times.
As a prerequiste we cancel/reschedule the V3 jobs to a future date during this activity.
The V3 extraction delta queues must be emptied prior to the upgrade to avoid any possible data loss.
V3 collector jobs should be suspended for the duration of the upgrade.
They can be rescheduled after re-activation of the source systems upon completion of the upgrade.

SAP BI7.0 Integration with SAP BO XI3.1

I'm a SAP BI consultant and new to BO, In my current project they need to introduce BO reporting and for that i have to give them a DEMO.
The input which i have...
AsIs and ToBe:
1.     AsIs: The customer has a BI environment up and running.
2.     AsIs: The customer has a BO environment up and running.
3.     AsIs: Customeru2019s BI and BO environments are not connected.
4.     ToBe: The goal of the project is to connect those environments and to use Apple IPAD as navigation device u2013 number of universes and reports will be defined.
what i have to do is ...
1.      have identified a BEx query suitable for the creation of interesting BO universe.
2.       have to Create one BO universe based on the identified query.
3.      have to Create one or two reports based on the created universe.
Now Please do let me know step by step procedure to do the integration part.

You have BI and BO installed and running on good environment,Correct??
Only you need SAP Integration Kit installed.
After installing successfully.
Create master BEx query. Go to Properties -->> Extended tab -- Allow external access to OLAP (Incase of BW3.x)
Create master BEx query. Go to Properties -->> Advanced tab -- Allow external access OLAP (BI7.0)
Now go to Universe Designer:
-->> Name Universe and Click on Connection -- New
-->> Connection parameter dailog box -- It prompt for many options like:
Authentication Mode:User/Pass or BO mappings or SSO
User Name:
Password:
Language:EN
Application Server: <SAP BI system details--IP address>
System ID:<SAP BI ID>
System No:<SAP BI NO>
Logon Group:(greyed out)
Message Server:(greyed out)
-- Click on Next
-- Here, you can see all OLAP cubes ($Infocubes) and Folders for BEx query based/Multiproviders.
-- Select the required one.
-- Click Next -- Next -- FINISH
OK
Now you can see lict of *Classes and Objects* and not Universe structure as we are on SAP BI system.
(In Universe Designer window)
Go to -- File -->> Export -- (Select any folder, where you have access)
Now, *logon to Infoview*:
-- Document list
-- New-->> New Web Intelligence Document
It will list out all Universe those are exist in repository.
Choose the exported one.
Now you are in *Web Intelligence Report panel*.
-- Drag any objects like Dimension/Detail or Measure to Result Objects pane (to see them in Report)
or
Drag them to Query Filters section to restrict the data.
--Click on Run Query
-- Now Report you can see.
If you want to create Report 2:
Just Right click on Report1 and say Duplicate or New Report.

I am developing the excise Invoice. For this I copied standard print program as Zprogram and Standard Script also.So I can change the ITCPO structure with three copies. But how to check these copies to print each copi with different headings?. what is required code to write in my Script?

Oracle Resource Manager function with SAP BI7

Hi,
Have anyone considered or using Oracle Database Resource Manager (Oracle 10.2) feature for SAP BI application in your site? I dont see a single OSS hit on this feature.
We have a SAP BI system that has few power users (who can run large STAR_TRANSFORMATION queries that analyzes large volume of data) and the main user community (our sales force > 3000+ users) who can run smaller queries of such nature or queries of different types.
We want to see if there is any way we can control the resource utilization on the database server.

Yes - but I'm not sure if that would give the necessary effect. Once the statement reaches the database kernel engine, it gets processed, no matter if you limit the TNS/listener usage because TNS is no more involved when the statement reaches the OLAP engine.

I understand your problem very well but I doubt, that there's an easy way of accomplishing this with standard tools.
