List content type columns don't show new names after resource files were changed

Hello,
we ran into a problem, that we're not able to figure out at the moment.
We have a site collection with site columns and site content types defined and created with
features ant their XML files. All display names are retrieved from resource files. We do have
several subsites, that have predefined lists also created from features and their corresponding
XML files. They use inherited versions of these site content types as list content types with
their columns inherited from the site columns.
We had some changes within the resource files and never ran into a problem up to now.
We changed the display names of some of these columns within the resource files. After
these changes the site columns, site content types and list columns show the changes
as planned. Unfortunately the columns of the list content types do not display the changes.
They still show the old name. If you try to alter the old names manually the new name is
shown within the form, but you're not able to save it and the list content type columns
still have their old name afterwards.
We checked our definition files and they seemed to be well.
Any ideas?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to modify the site column name in the list.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
You can modify the DisplayName in the Element.xml file.
Then after you redeploy the project, the site column name will be changed in the list setting page.
In addition, please check whether you create the list correctly.

Missing Columns from List Content Type

Hi,
I'm having some strange problems with one of my site collections, I have site content types with a few columns in it and I'm using them in 3 different libraries.
However recently something happened and it seems the list content types in one of the libraries have stopped using some of the columns set out in the site content type (according to library settings). The columns still show as part of the list (and the metadata
is still in there), when I've tried adding them back to the list content types, I do not see them in the list columns group, only in their original column group. If I try to add them to the list from their original group I get the errors similar to the following:

I've tried to make changes to the parent site content type, however those changes to not push down to the library in question. The missing columns have varied types (single line of text, lookup, managed metadata and so forth). All of these content types &
site columns were created through the user interface of SharePoint.
Can anyone help me with any ideas what has happened and/or how to fix this problem?

As I understand, you have custom content type in 3 libraries, while the issue occurs to the columns in this content type.
I wonder if the issue occurs to other two libraries as well?
From your description, "I've tried to make changes to the parent site content type, however those changes to not push down to the library in question", do you mean that changes in content type are not reflected to the list which is added to this
content type. If that is the case, I'd suggest you recreate content type.
If the site content type works well in other two libraries, please create a new library and add this content type. If it works well, then move the list content to this new list.

Search for documents using External Data on list content type

hi,
say we have clients in an external database, we create the external content type for use in sharepoint 2013
we create two content types, Quote and Order for use in a library
we create a document library that uses the above content types
we then add a column for the external data ( in this case Client Name- but also include ID) , we have the option to copy to content type selected. so now library shows 'Client' and 'Client:ID'
I believe that column gets added to list content types based on the 2 document content types.
so we have list items , which have a document , a content type and a piece of data from the external LOB system.
now that is fine, works great, however, how do you configure the content search web part to return documents based on the piece of external data - ie client:ID ? or Client Name ?
I can map the client:ID to one of the Int00 managed properties and crawl etc - but do not see a way to use that to return documents
any help would be appreciated :)

Deploying a Reusable Workflow to a List Content Type using PowerShell

We have a situation where deployment of a reusable workflow for a site content type cannot be completed through the web interface due to the number of libraries where the content type is in use (time-out on deploy and update).
It was hoped that this could be accomplished with PowerShell but the method of deploying to a list content type appears to be different than it is to a list (all content types).
The below snippet works fine for a list / all content types:

After you associate the workflow to the content type, you should update the update the content type using
$ct.UpdateWorkflowAssociationsOnChildren($true,$true,$true,$false)
method.

You can't currently permanently delete purchases, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible : hiding and unhiding purchases

From your description, it seems that your resource file is a XML format file, if so, you could also have a try to use
LINQ To XML which is easy to operate the XML file to add new row to your resource file, and here is an example to show how to add a new element/row to the specific tree:

Report Painter - New Columns Don't Show Up

Hello All,
We have a report painter report that was copied from an existing report in transaction CJE5 (for modifying the form) and then assigned in CJE1 (to a report). The copied report was functioning properly with an existing tcode assignment. Now, I am trying to add new columns to the same form and I was able to add and save everything to the form without errors. However, when I execute the report, these new columns don't appear on the report. Can anyone suggest why?
One thing I notice was that when I went to the "Report Parameters", the list of "Columns" does not include the columns that I added. I cannot figure out how to add them to the list so that they would start appearing on the report output.

Hello Suresh, Thanks for the suggestion, but report painter is a functional area and the ABAPer should not be required to insert a new column and make it appear on the report. Any more suggestions, please?

Customising a SharePoint list content type form - "Manage multiple list items with this form"

I have designed a form for a content type on an existing SharePoint list. When I ran the initial wizard, I selected
Manage multiple list items with this form which is great, exactly what I want.
But, there are some columns in this content type that I do not want repeating and have them moved them outside of the Repeating Section but I am getting the below error. I can't seem to find a way to create a new non-repeating group though. Any
advice on how to do this?

I am having one content type. I have 10 columns in it. There are two rich text columns in my content type. I have attached this content type to pages library. I want to change the data type of this rich text column to "Full
HTML content with formatting and constraints for publishing".

From your description, my understanding is that you want to change the data type for rich text column in content type.
The field type of Full HTML content with formatting and constraints for publishing is "Invalid", you could refer to this article:https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spfieldtype.aspx.
You also could test it by create a Full HTML content with formatting and constraints for publishing column and get the its type with C# code below:

I have tested it with the PowerShell, it cannot hange the rich text column to “Full HTML content with formatting and constraints for publishing” column. If you want to edit the rich text column, you could not change the type of the column as the screenshot
below:
As a workaround, you could follow these steps to accomplish your requirement:
Create a “Full HTML content with formatting and constraints for publishing” type column in the content type.
Enter your site columns by clicking gear icon -> Site Settings -> Site columns under Web Designer Galleries under section.
Find and delete the rich text column you want to change.
Find the column you have created in step 1, and change the column’s name to the name of the text column you have deleted in step 3.
But you will lose the data of the rich text column in pages library with this method.

Deleting sharepoint list content type Fields

Please tell me the code for deleting all the fields inside content type fields..This is my code i used,but its not deleting the fields.

Flex builder 3 don't show new components

Hi,
I've installed flex builder 3 beta 3. The new components such
as the advanced datagrid don't show in the components window.
Actually they were showing but for some reasons they are gone now.
I also have flex builder 2 installed on the same pc, but it
shouldn't be an issue.
I've made sure in the preferences that flex builder 3 uses
the right sdk (3.0 beta 3)

Yes I was definitely running 3.0. I've solved the problem by
reinstalling flex 3.
However sometimes I get a nasty crash when I open a component
in Design mode and when the Properties window of this component is
opened. Then Flex closes and I get a popup with error log. Will
post it next time I see it.
Overall it seems ok though, I'm already enjoying the advanced
datagrid :)

Gnome 3.12 - nautilus, gedit etc. don't show new input instantly

When renaming a file or directory in nautilus what I see in the input field is always one repaint behind what I actually did.
For example:
1.) Create a new folder in nautilus
2.) Rename it and set the cursor to the end of the name so that it deletes one character at a time.
3.) Press backspace over and over again.
It will seem as if it doesn't delete the first character of the foldername. Now type a new name and you'll see that it looks like it doesn't set the last character you typed. Click inside of nautilus and you'll see that it just needed a new repaint.

One user mentions this being related to the latest nvidia driver (using 337.12 atm), but I remember having this issue also with the older versions. I suspect that this is a problem with clutter, since these problems started to happen around the same time I reported a screen flickering bug to NVIDIA which turned out was a bug in clutter.

A clutter maintainer responded to my thread:
That does not seem to be the case (yes that problem exists but this is a different story). This particular bug is simply a bug on how we handled the buffer_age extension in clutter. I have fixed in upstream clutter. The patch is also in the 1.16 branch (not just 1.18) so should end up in distros soon.
This doesn't happen in non-gnome applications like sublime text.

According to the bug report and the clutter developer, this issue has been fixed, but I'm still getting that horrible 'text to screen' delay with gedit and with other gnome apps. Mouse clicks in those apps are delayed as well. Is there something else I need to do, or could it be that I missed or misunderstood something while researching this issue?
Currently running Gnome 3.12 (not from testing repo) and all installed packages including nvidia are the current releases from the Arch official repos.

SMS inbox doesn't show new messages after upgrading to OS 5.0.0.681. SMS format appears as IM.

My SMS inbox doesnt show new messages and also my Curve 8900 doesnt prompt for any new messages. However, the Mobiso application (which logs calls, texts) shows messages coming in with its text lengths. I asked this to Blackberryhelp on Twitter but it said to contact service provider, but there is nothing wrong with it. The format of the SMS inbox should have something wrong otherwise the Mobiso application should not have logged all messages.
Please help me, i am missing all my daily SMS since last 20 days.
Will degrading the OS help? Which is recommended OS version for BB Curve 8900?
