Live action in flash

I have to do a project for a course in flash animation, and I
was wondering if it was possible to do a live-action movie in
flash? If so, how would you import the live video to flash? Oh,
and, more specifically, this all has to be done on Flash 5.
Thanks for the help!

  • How to add live action video to the timeline in Adobe Flash CS5?

    Hi, I want to make an animation over live action footage, I've looked on the guides and the ones which explain what I need to do are for previous versions of Flash and don't work on CS5.
    I'm wondering how I can import a video in to Adobe Flash CS5, so that it plays in the timeline frame by frame? I dont mean putting it on one frame so it will play, but so i can edit objects over the top of the flash in each single frame
    Thanks.

    So are you saying that you cannot embed the video directly into the main timeline (I don't use CS5) as you could with earlier versions?
    Overall I wonder if you are using the wrong tool for the job. Flash is not a video editor and attempts to use it as such often fall short. Adobe After Effects or even a simple video editor may work better:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/aftereffects.html
    If that is not an option... how about
    .... embed video directly into main timeline... or
    ... convert video file to .swf, then import .swf... extending timeline as needed..... or
    ... if vid is short, do frame grab for each frame, save as bitmap, import the series of bitmaps, place them on layer below animation... or
    but to keep the video synced to the animation, you'll need to set the Flash doc frame rate to exactly the same as the original framerate of the video. For example, if shot in mini-dv format, the frame rate of the video is 29.97 so the Flash doc frame rate would need to be 29.97 also.

  • Using OSX 10.8 DW CS6 when I click "live" it says "flash plugin" "not found".

    Using DW CS6 when I click "live" it says "Flash Plugin was not found. To view Flash content in Live View install the Firefox Flash Plugin from www.adobe.com."
    My default browser is Chrome. DW uses Chrome as the primary browser. (FFox is secondary.)
    I do have Firefox and do not have Flash on it. I open Flash content Chrome, and I installed an HTML5 video viewer add-on in FFox (but haven't tried it yet).
    I also have the Dreamweaver HTML5 Video View add-on, so why am I getting that message? Furthermore, the HTML code doesn't have any Flash objects. (The code is the source HTML from www.google.com page, without any changes.)
    How do I make DW display the "Live" view of the code without giving me an error? (My end goal is to find out what google does when you enter something in the search box and hit the Enter key, actually, I'd like to see why the result of the search is displayed the way it is - default should be Web view, but Image view shows instead. I want Web to show!)

    "Why would anybody paste Google's source code into their own web page?" To learn from it.
    I'm sorry Phil, but you can't learn much from Google's source code because search engines are dynamically programed with behind-the-scenes code and content from databases that you can't see.  You're just spinning your wheels here.  If you want to learn how to make a search engine, I'd be happy to point you to some relevant PHP & MySql tutorials.
    The issue still remains that DW is giving me the error (flash plugin not found)
    When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW

    If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences

    If all else fails, use the CC Cleaner Tools below followed by a software re-install.

  • Can any one tell me when i use adobe flash media encoder how can i see my live vidoes on flash media

    can any one tell me when i use adobe flash media encoder how can i see my live vidoes on flash media server . thnx

    Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
    The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
    Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • How to speed up the loading of live data into flash file.

    How to speed up the loading of live data into flash file if the swf file size is 1.5 MB. Flash file is using 20 web service connections to load the live data.

    Hello,
    I am also facing a similar problem wherein the SWF file takes time to load the refreshed data in Infoview i.e. after exporting the xlf file to Business Objects platform. Currently I am using Xcelcius Engage/Enterprise 2008 SP3 Windows (file name: 51038212.ZIP) version 5.3.0.0 build number 12,3,0,670. Also the SWF file is approximately 2MB in size  and it uses 42 live office connections.
    Please suggest solution as to how to decrease the time it takes to refresh the live office connections.

  • Can I video capture 'live action' from Viewer screen ...

    Can I capture 'live action ' video as it appears on the 'viewer screen' in iMovie as I move the cursor across the 'source video' clips. Does iMovie allow me to record this 'action' to hard drive ?? ... Suggestions greatly appreciated.

    it is this 'rapidly changing 'still' images' as it appears in the 'viewer' that I want to record.
    You could use a screen capture application like Snapz ProX to capture the "preview" window as it is either playing or being "scrubbed." On the other hand, if you have QT Pro, you could also export the original source clip as a sequence of still images (image frequency can be selected by the user) to a folder and then simply open the "Image Sequence" using QT Pro to create a motion clip with a user selected frame rate for viewing. This approach would provide a more even playback than a screen capture of a "scrubbed" playback which depends on how fast and steadily you "scrub" the file.

  • Matching part of a live-action footage with 3d perspective

    Hi!, just a simple trouble... hope so...
    I have a live-action footage showing the stage of a theater from the stage perspective. The stage has two parts, one lower than the other. The footage has no movement, the only thing i need to do is moving up the lower level, to match the upper level. I've been trying to do it just by 'eyeballing it". I duplicated the layer, mask the lower level, activated the 3d box in the layer, and tried to make the effect just by make keyframes and combining position and x rotation. But i just painful.. i just dont get it...
    link http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?6ff086661b.jpg

    Hi Craig, i've been trying to shift up the layer, with a mask, the problem i'm having is that doesnt match the perspective of the frame, and when i try to softly rotate the layer as is goes up, its just doesnt look real. The idea is make a bigger bottom layer by precomposing and painting/cloning/stretching, so when its moved on 3d near to the horizon line i still have visible floor, thanxs anyway?

  • Filter for turning live action into animation?

    Is there a filter that will turn live action into art the way you can with Photoshop on stills?

    Can you provide a little more info on this desired filter please?
    A screen shot perhaps.

  • Triangular poly filter for live action?

    Is there a filter that yields a triangular poly look to a live action clip with the polys following the natural contour of the imagery...similar to a low res 3D render?

    It would be fantastic if someone cracked that, would it not? No, short of experimental 3D reconstruction software or things like the various Kinext experiments there is no such software that I'm aware of and even if there were, to get a proper polygon flow you'd need more than one view. Y'know, self-intersections and other ambiguous situations that won't work from just one fixed angle...

  • Importing 3D objects to animate within live action

    Regarding motion tracking, I'd like to import a 3D model of a robot and interact it with live action characters in a scene. Nothing too complicated - it hovers around but, it needs to be in 3D space for realism. What I've read of tracking, I can put an object in a scene and lock it down through camera movement and such. I would imagine the rotobrush tool will come in handy for this process. I just haven't wrapped my brain around how to animate this robot in a scene where the camera may be moving. Any suggestions?

    3d tracking a scene is never "nothing too complicated".
    The most important step is having a good script.
    Other steps following that will include planning, storyboarding, shooting the scene (with enough tracking markers - or trackable elements - in the right places in the shot), shooting a clean plate (also, take the chance to grab some ambient room noise for your audio editing later), and shooting an HDRI - note: this is not an all-inclusive list.
    That was all just pre-production and production.
    Steps in post would include tracking the shot, modeling the 3d elements, texturing the 3d elements, lighting the 3d elements, animating the 3d elements, rendering the 3d elements and their various passes (object buffers, ambient occlusion, shadows, lights, motion vectors, depth pass, etc.), compositing your 3d elements into the scene (which will involve color correction and may or may not involve keying, rotoscoping, and other techniques - you'll figure this out during the planning stages), rendering out your composite in a proper intermediate codec, bringing your final shot into your editing program, adding sound design, color grading, and producing a finished file in the correct delivery codec. Again, there is more to it than this, but these are some of the basic steps.

  • Cannot superimpose graphic over clip of live action

    I did this before so I know I am missing something.
    I am trying to superimpose a LiveTitle graphic over a live action clip. I keep getting the prompt that I cannot due the edit and to check my video tracks. I am trying to slow down the speed of the LiveType graphic clip and it does not seem to be working. Anyone have any ideas on how I can solve these two problems? Thanks.

    You slow down the LT animation inside the LT project. Stretch out the animation and make the text longer. Import the LT project inti FCE and drag it from the browser into the timeline onto the track above your video.

  • Two par biddig and live action for sinle document

    Hi,
    I have a requirement for a sngle shopping cart at the time of sourcing is it possible to carry out live action process and bidding (RFx process) simultaneously for single shopping cart document.

    only one JAy is correct.
    SC Item will not agian appear in the cockpit once it was converted to next follow on docuement and Object links are created.
    OR
    You can create an auction by converting an RFx into an auction. This enables you to process converted auctions more efficiently and use bids copied from an RFx to drive competitive bidding. You can choose to copy full-quantity bids without attributes from the RFx to the auction; only valid bids created for the current external version of the RFx are transferred during conversion.

  • SRM 07 Live Action

    Dear Expert,
    I am starting to work with the SRM 07 Live Action.
    I can enter  to the Live Action after I published the Action.
    Can someone tell me how to create password to the bidders I added to the auction?
    How can I create the URL for them?
    Can they enter the action using regular internet Access?
    Thanks,
    Yaron

    Hi,
    You will have to have the vendors in the SRM vendor organization, and also create contact persons to these vendors.
    So when you create contact persons you will have a su01 user with bidder role associated with it, hence for the same su01 user a portal user with bidder role has to be created.
    Once the live auction is published the bidders have to login to the portal with above user and access the live auction.
    Regards
    Sam

  • Rotoscoping and live-action animation

    Is it possible to do rotoscoping and live-action animation in iMovie? This type of animation was used in the "Take On Me" music video by a-ha in the 80's and more recently in the Charles Schwab commercials and the movie "A Scanner Darkly" starring Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder.

    welcome SCD to the  boards of discussions...
    iM is a consumer video edit app... import some minutes of miniDV camcorder stuff, edit it - done...-
    such elaborated effects as rotoscoping are for sure NOT supported... these are domains of the Big Guys as Final Cut (I'm using FCElements for the "special effects" in my homemovies...) or $$$$ Motion, After Effects etc.pp.
    they main need to do such effects is a second video-layer.. which iM doesn't support...-
    the "poor-man's effect machine" is the combo of a grafic app + QTpro... that will allow to convert a bunch of handpainted pics into a solid dv-stream for iM... I did that for my lil' StarWars project I made for my son... (which reminds me to finally finish the making_of website < slapping own forehead .. > )

  • HDS live streaming to Flash not working

    Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5.5 r4013
    Windows 2008
    Sources:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-52e437a812a3725df a0-8000.html
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobe-media-server/articles/live-multi-bitrate-video-http-flas h-ios.html
    Live streaming a single or multi-bitrate video over HTTP to Flash does not work. I have followed the instructions on the 2 sources listed above repeatedly, but I can’t get live streaming over HTTP to Flash to work. Live streaming to iOS over HTTP works with no problems (single and multi-bitrate streams).
    I have tried the troubleshooting steps from the following:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS0432746db30523c21e63e3d12efac195bd -8000.html
    Troubleshoot live streaming (HTTP)
    1.      Services window (Windows): Flash Media Server (FMS), Flash Media Administration Server, and FMSHttpd services are running. ✓
    2.      Verified that the request URL is correct. ✓
    3.      Configured ports:
    a.      Configure Apache to use port 80. Open rootinstall/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf in a text editor. Change the line Listen 8134 to Listen 80.
    b.     Configure Flash Media Server not to use port 80. Open rootinstall/conf/fms.ini in a text editor. Remove 80 from the ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT parameter so the parameter looks like the following: ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = :1935 ✓
    4.      Placed a crossdomain.xml file to the rootinstall/webroot directory. ✓
    5.      In Flash Media Live Encoder, select the Encoding Options tab, choose Output from the Panel options menu, and verify the following:
    a) The value of FMS URL is rtmp://fms-dns-or-ip/livepkgr. If you’re testing on the same server as Flash Media Server, you can use the value localhost for fms-dns-or-ip. ✓
    b) For a single stream, the value of Stream is livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent. ✓
    c) For adaptive bitrate streaming, the value of Stream is livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent. ✓
    Flash Media Live Encoder uses this value to create unique stream names. To use another encoder, provide your own unique stream names, for example, livestream1?adbe-live-event=liveevent, livestream2?adbe-live-event=liveevent.
    The encoder is showing all 3 streams being published and streaming.
    6. Check Administration Console: the livepkgr application and the 3 streams are running. ✓
    7. Check the logs for errors. Flash Media Server logs are located in the rootinstall/logs folder. The master.xx.log file and the core.xx.log file show startup failures. Apache logs are located in the rootinstall/Apache2.2/logs folder. X
    a)   core00.log: these errors did not occur every time that I tried playing the live stream but these are the only relevant errors in the logs.
    1. 7968 (w)2611179     Warning from libf4f.dll: [Utils] [livestream2] Discarded all queued Media Messages received before first Video Keyframe Message

    2.     [warn] bootstrap path is in event file is empty for event:livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent stream name:livestream1
    As I mentioned, everything works on iOS and FMS seems to be creating all of the stream segments and meta files:
    a.     The 3 streams are being created in: HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_
    b.    FMS is creating the following files in each stream folder (livestream1, livestream2, livestream 3):
    1. livestream1.bootstrap
    2. livestream1.control
    3. livestream1.meta
    4. .f4f segments
    5. .f4x segments
    The appropriate files are also being created in the HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\events\_definst_\liveevent folder, in which I have the following Manifest.xml and Event.xml files:
    <manifest xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/f4m/1.0">
      <media streamId="livestream1" bitrate="200" />
      <media streamId="livestream2" bitrate="500" />
      <media streamId="livestream3" bitrate="1000" />
    </manifest>
    <Event>
      <EventID>liveevent</EventID>
      <Recording>
    <FragmentDuration>4000</FragmentDuration>
    <SegmentDuration>16000</SegmentDuration>
        <DiskManagementDuration>3</DiskManagementDuration>
      </Recording>
    </Event>
    I’ve tried clearing the contents of both streams\_definst_ and events\_definst_\liveevent (keeping the xml files) after restarting the encoder, and creating a different event definst for the streams (liveevent2 for example).
    We have an event in 2 weeks that we would like to stream to both Flash and iOS. Any help in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

    One step closer:
    Changed the crossdomain.xml file (more permissive settings).
    Changed the encoding on FMLE to vp6. Working somewhat (don't know what I did to make it start streaming through hds).
    But at least now I can get the individual streams in the set manifest file to work:
    http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livevent/livestream1.f4m
    http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livevent/livestream2.f4m
    http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livevent/livestream3.f4m
    BUT when I try to play the streams through the set manifest file from http://localhost/liveevent.f4m I'm getting the following error:
    "The F4m document contains errors URL missing from Media tag." I'll search the forums to see if anyone else has come across this problem.
    I used the f4m config tool to make the file. These are the file's contents:
    <manifest xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/f4m/2.0">
      <baseURL>http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/</baseURL>
      <media href="livestream1.f4m " bitrate="200"/>
      <media href="livestream2.f4m " bitrate="500"/>
      <media href="livestream3.f4m " bitrate="1000"/>
    </manifest>
    Thanks
