Live Cam Voice requires restart after system sleep under Vista
I have attached my Live Cam Voice to my brandnew Vaio Notebook which runs Windows Vista Home Premium and installed the latest drivers from the Creative website. The cam works fine, until I put the laptop to sleep mode and waking it up again. After waking the PC up, the cam is not recognized anymore and I need to restart the computer.
Anybody experienced similar problems and (hopefully) has a solution? Thx.
Did you ever solve this problem? I have a similar problem on my desk top running Vista Home. I couldn't get the Vista driver (download from this wesite) to load so resorted to trying the XP dri've. This seemed to work until Vista put the machine into "Sleep" mode. After coming out of Sleep mode I eith have to restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect the webcam.

Creative live cam voice help please
Help please,
We are using the "live cam voice" model, with our computer (Vista 32bit), that appears to work OK, but after a few minutes we get the BSOD! We have tried un installing and re-installing drivers without any effect.Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it.
Regards,
ArthurThanks for your response. I have tried 3 ports so far, all with the same outcome. One of my sons had it happen to him on another computer (XP SP2) using this webcam . As to programmes open at the same time, I am not computer literate and have no idea what programmes were running on each occasion. We use the webcam for Skype and apart from that I may also have IE open and perhaps Outlook Express. Over and above those CS4 sometimes.
If I cannot resolve this, can any one suggest another webcam please.

Live cam voice & msn messenger
I bought creative live cam voice and I cannot get it to work with WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER as it always crashes and gives the error message "the program has stopped working". Im using vista 64 bit and all the latest drivers.
I did get it working for a short while with MSN 7.5 but microsoft now prevent that version being used and when you try and install it windows insists on downloading live messenger instead.

Live cam voice ......errr Help please
HI all,
I wish i never uninstalled my web cam....never had it working since.
I;ll put you all in the picture....Dell, Win XP Pro, SP3, and trying to install Live cam voice.....
Unfortuantely i think i have misalid !! the main CD it came with.
I have installed the drivers ( the most up to date ones 1.02.08.0710 ) and application package on the creative web site for XP.
The application seems to freeze, the web cam works, but when it tries to install the drivers, it halts for ages on the wdmaud.drv to c:\windows\system32.....is trying to install that driver section for over an hour now, if i disconnect the usb end ( which i will do now, it says its installed ok and finished ) but not not recognise the audio section. It shows up ok and fine on the video web cam, and also as i mention above the application seems to freeze adhock.
Advice given from ireland on the phone,
1) try tips from website ....like shut down anti virus and firewall etc ...done that no use !
2) uninstall, install the files from the CD
3) uninstall.... install from the web app and drivers ( which i have already done )
4) try from another PC...i have not got another PC!!!!!
Does anybody have any other tips...please helpYeah, I hear ya! There is such a tremendous delay between sound and video that it looks like a bad kung-fu dub :womansad: I bought 5 of them for may office and they are horribly poorly synched. What's up?

Live Cam Voice OR wireless connection; not both
My new Live! Cam Voice blocks my wireless Internet connection. The Webcam works fine for taking photos and making little videos. But if I'm online, and plug the Webcam into a USB port, my connection is cut and I cannot restore it. Unplug the Webcam and sometimes the connection comes back, or if not I have to restart my computer, and it comes back then.
A previous Logitech Webcam worked perfectly.
Any ideas?
KBelow was copied from a post by: cjasonwilson on this forum and Worked on my live!cam voice product.
***Note***
When I followed the direction on this I found only:
LowerFilters value inthe file - I deleted that and all is well in wonder land!
Thanks to Cjasonwilson for some great info, the only thing to work after 3 calls to creative, gatway and one of my buddies dack in FL. Thanks Again!
I found a fix that worked for me and I hope it works for anyone else experiencing the same issue. I had to Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values.
To Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values, follow these steps:
1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
START > RUN > (Type) REGEDIT (and hit ENTER)
2. Locate the UpperFilters and LowerFilters value under the following key in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{6BDDFC6-80F-D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
3. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
NEXT: I went to my Device Manager in Windows XP > IMAGING DEVICES > CREATIVE WEBCAM LIVE! ULTRA then right mouseclicked and chose DISABLE. I Then Right mouse clicked again and chose ENABLE. Then Wallah! My webcam led cam on and the darn thing started working again.
HOW I DISCOVERED WHAT TO DO
I came across a link to a similar problem regarding a CD-Rom Driver install issue returning Error Code 9. This was the same error code that I recieved when trying to re-install my webcam drivers. So I poked around the registry near a similar path (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class\) as mentioned in the article found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/34060/EN-US/ until I ran across an entry that said Imaging Devices in it. -
[Slvd] What to restart after system upgrade? When to restart X server?
Hi all,
After a system upgrade, what should be restarted? The following actions I know about:
kernel (linux): reboot
daemon (sshd, cups, iptables, etc.): rc.d restart ...
application (fvwm, mutt, etc.): restart application
But what will require restarting X server? Can the current X server continue to run after upgrading one the following:
1. xorg-server
2. libx11 or other libraries xorg-server depends on
3. anything else?
I want to keep the system up-to-date but avoid restarting the X server to maintain my X session (>100 windows carfully spread and grouped over 22 workspaces). Unfortunately, there is no xsm anymore and, no, I don't like gnome/kde/thelike.
Thanks,
Daan

A useful command is:
lsof | grep 'DEL.*lib'
I put this line in a script called stalelibs. Helps to see which services should be restarted. Or whether I'll just take the easy option and reboot :)
This is very helpful!
Also, in the link that you sent it is explained why programs don't break when their shared libraries are removed:
Existing programs (that are already loaded) have pointers to the old version, as Naib says, in RAM as code or an inode location as a file handle to the deleted version. Once all handles are gone/programs terminated, the file will then truly be "removed" from the disk and space reclaimed. Until then you'll see shared libraries still eating disk space and RAM, despite them being removed.
This is why it's good to reboot the machine after certain upgrades such as libc, so programs like init can pick up a new copy of libc.
@brebs: Thanks for the great contribution! -
OSMF self start playback after system sleep
Hi,
We've found an issue with OSMF player: in case you load a page with video, then send system to sleep - after system wakeup playback starts itself. This is valid if you are using f4m file or rtmp stream. Those issues are visible on OSMF demos: here http://www.osmf.org/dev/1.6gm/StrobeMediaPlayback.html there are no issues, but here http://www.osmf.org/dev/1.6gm/debug.html video starts itself after system wakeup. Changing source to flv allows to get rid of the issue.
Also, if you load page, than start it and pause it - the issue will not reproduce as well.
Control bar behaves also very strange: playback time and scrollbar are updated according to actual playback, but play button (not pause) is presented. on case i push play - video restarts.
Systems: MacOS (10.7.5, build 11G63), Firefox 20, Chrome 26, Flash (11.7.700.169); Windows 7: Firefox 17, Flash (11.6.602.180); our cluents also mentioned they have same issues on Win8 under Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. This problem was resolved for me using suggestions in another discussion thread.
Please see this link to that discussion for the solution:

Live Cam Voice on HP DV8305 -- Video image very slow
I installed Live! Cam Voice on my HP DV8305 succussfully, it works, but the video image is very slow. it needs about 30sec to capture a frame, sometime just stucked. I changed the Display Adaptive Driver, used differrent USB IF, checked my CPU and Memery usage, my HD space, use differrent IM -- skype, MSN, .... Any one can help?
As further information, the issue seems to be with the exposure setting. When I turn auto exposure off, then set exposure down as low as it will go, the picture darkens, but the frame rate goes up. I don't have this problem with my Logitech QuickCam Orbit -- I'm not sure if the problem is with the firmware, or if the CMOS sensor in the Live! Cam Voice is just smaller.

Bonjour Service Prevents Sleep Under Vista
Hey all.
I've been having a problem with iTunes (well, Bonjour really - but that came with iTunes, I didn't install it independently). I'm running the iTunes 8.0.0.35 version for Windows.
When the Bonjour service is running, the machine won't sleep according to the settings under the Power Options in Control Panel. I have my machine set to Hybrid Sleep after a bit of time of inactivity, and when the Bonjour service is running, that is magically disabled (the setting's still there, but the system won't sleep).
The only "Windows" setting that relates to this is "Allow computer to sleep" under Multimedia Settings / When Sharing Media in the Advanced Power Options of Control Panel. That's already setup so that it will sleep when using Media Player to share media.
It looks like the Bonjour that comes with iTunes is the ghetto edition - there's no controllers for it that I can find. I can "fix" the problem by simply disabling the "Bounjour Service" under Services - so it's definitely Bonjour that's the problem.
Can someone tell me how I might go about setting iTunes (/ Bonjour) to allow my machine to sleep like I've told it too? This whole Apple-does-my-thinking-for-me stuff is getting a bit tiresome.
CheersUnfortunately I do want to use it. I suppose I can just use Media Player to share my library (which is what I'm doing at the moment), but that seems to be a sort of half a job solution
I'm guessing this is an Apple "feature" and won't be resolved anytime soon? -

WL 7.0 Node Manager - auto restart after system boot fails
I have configured node manager to automatically restart managed servers on my Solaris
2.8 host. When I kill the managed server from the command line, node manager automatically
restarts the managed server just as I would expect. But when I reboot the system,
node manager does not restart the managed server. I started the managed server before
the reboot using node manager/admin console as the documentation states. I see nothing
in the logs that indicate any attempt by node manager to start the previously running
managed server, although node manager itself starts up OK after the reboot. Any
suggestions on how to get this working?

ii) system reboots.

Actually we were given a solution to this problem:
The node manager (NM) should restart managed servers (MS) upon reboot of the box.
There is one exception however - this can't happen if the MS is part of a cluster
and it hosts a migratable service. Currently there are two migratable services
- JMS and JTA. You need to have explicitly setup the migratable services for the
MS via the console.
Assuming you are not using these as migratable services you must explicitly set
a flag to indicate the MS is not hosting migratable services. This can be done
via the command line. It only needs to be done once and it will update the config.xml
file. The command line is:
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://adminhost:port -username <user> -password <password>
SET -mbean <domain>:Name=<MS name>,Type=Server -property HostsMigratableServices
false
You should see a simple reply of 'OK'.
Once this is done your should be able to reboot the box and after restart the
managed server should be running.
It worked!
Kumar Allamraju <[email protected]> wrote:
NM will only restart managed server's if they are abruptly killed.
We have no mechanism inplace to start managed server's upon system reboot.
May be you should write some startup scripts to start WLS upon system
start.

International changes from British to US after system sleep
Hi,
The International menu flag chages from British to US after my system has been asleep. Any ideas as to how I may be able to stop this from happening?
Thanks,
AndyliWelcome to Discussions Andyli-
Have you looked at System Prefs>International>Formats and made sure that you have the UK selected as your region? Also, make sure under Input Menu you have British checked, and not US.

WiFi Printer cannot be accessed after System sleeps
My Canon MP640 WiFi printer works immediately after I startup my iMac (Mountain Lion) of a morning but complains that there is a communication error the first time I try to print with it after the iMac has been asleep. This also occurs if the printer goes to sleep. It's a real pain as the only way to activate the print queue is to restart the computer. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?
the problem is they can`t be deleted because if you try , the error message goes "the operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient priviliges for "SERVERNAME"

Svrmgrl: connect internal requires password after system crash
Please help.
I'm running Oracle 7.3.4 on SunSolaris 2.6.
It seems we had a system crash.
Message when I try to restart the database

"Database "SID" possibly left running when system went down (system crash?).
Notify Database Administrator.

also when I attemting:
svrmgrl connect internal
I'm prompted for a password (Kennwort).
I don't know the password.
I tried it as root and oracle user.
Any suggestions or help?
Thank you.
nullIn the password file I set the password of the os
user oracle which owns installation. The Password for the password file is supposed to be the SYS password and not OS User oracle which owns installation.
I do not think the Oracle OS user password change is the problem. When you alter SYS password using the alter user command, it should change the password file automatically.
Try
SVRMGR> connect sys/sys_password as see whether it works. If it does not, then check other issues.
