LMS 4.2 Template Center parameter file

Is it possible to run templates from Template Center against a parameter file instead of interactive setting the variables analogue to compliance base line templates?
If yes where can I find a documentation, how to deploy template center templates with parameter file?
Thx in advance, Steffen

Thx, Marvin for the reply and the attached whitepaper.
I know that compliance baseline templates are able to support a parameter file.
But I asked for parameter file based by means unattended, none interactive rollout for the templates in the Template center. Its intended to build up a network from the scratch so everything will be none compliant anyway, so in my opinion Template center XML (the only configuration method that was taken over in PI) will be the better choise to rollout all the variable driven per device individual config parts.

  • LMS 4 Template Center issues

    For years we have used baseline templates to deploy basic configurations to LAN switches as part of the staging process.  Since the baseline templates were developed more as a compliance check mechanism, I thought I would try to move this function over to the template center.  So I opened the LMS Configuration Management manual and read the Managing and Deploying Templates chapter, along with Appendix B - Config Template XML schema.  This left a lot unanswered, but I thought I would give creating a template a shot anyway.
    So I exported one of the system defined templates and went about hacking it up to suit my needs.  The first thing I discovered was that when I tried to import my modified template and there was a problem with it the only feedback I got was a message stating Template import Failed. Unable to parse the XML file.Please ensure that the XML file is complaint to the schema.  Um... ok... that narrows it down.  Undaunted, I chopped most of the XML out until I got the thing to import successfully.  Then I slowly added the rest of the parameters in, one at a time and fixing any problems along the way.
    I finally reached the point where I was ready to test a deploy.  With great anticipation I clicked on Deploy, selected my test device, filled out the form and clicked Next.
    Some fields might contain invalid characters, or required fields could have been left blank
    What now?  None of the fields are flagged in the browser.  Is there any way to determine what it is that is missing without resorting back to chopping up the template and trying portions of it until I find it?  Am I going about this the wrong way?  Am I misinterpreting the purpose of template center all together?

    Where did you start? It looks like you've followed an invalid installation method. The soft appliance (.ova-based LMS 4.2 image) runs over the built-in ADE-OS (custom Linux variant from Cisco).
    I'd advise recreating the VM, carefully following the steps in here.

    No, Template Center approval has not yet been implemented.  There is a bug open for this, CSCtl21503.

  • FinalCut XML: question about the Center parameter

    Hi, I'm writing a script that will massage some of the data in the XML file export from a sequence. I'm trying to understand the settings for the Center parameter in the Viewer.
    If my Center point in the Viewer is 1 horizontal and 100 vertical, that corresponds to something like this in the XML:
    <name>Center</name>
    <keyframe>
        <when>147</when>
    <value>
        <horiz>0.000347222</horiz>
        <vert>0.0520833</vert>
    </value>
    </keyframe>
    Any idea how those horiz/vertical numbers correspond to the values 1 and 100?
    thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Meg, actually looking at this again I'm still confused. In my new sequence which is 1620x1080, I have vertical keyframes 0, 16, 34, 60, 79, 104 and 212. In my XML, these correspond to:
    0 : 0
    16 : <vert>0.00833333</vert>
    34 : <vert>0.0177083</vert>
    60: <vert>0.03125</vert>
    79: <vert>0.0411458</vert>
    104: <vert>0.0541667</vert>
    212: <vert>0.110417</vert>
    However, if I divide each of the left-hand values above by 1080, I get different numbers:
    16 / 1080 = .0148
    34 / 1080 = .0314
    60 / 1080 = .0555
    79 / 1080 = .0731
    104 / 1080 = .096
    212 / 1080 = .196
    So, I'm still not understanding where the <vert> numbers are coming from. Am I missing something? I understand the zero point is the center of the frame, so maybe that affects the calculations as well.
    As you can probably tell I'm trying to calculate the position of the same clip in the larger 1620x1080 frame, so it matches the relative position in the 720x480 frame. (I've changed the Scale by multiplying it by 2.25, which is easy.)
    I appreciate your help.

  • Need a sample file for IDQ parameter file and a Shell script to execute it from command line

    Hello,The parameter file itself is generated from cmd line using infacmd command and it automatically creates the parameters inside it based on the parameters created inside the mapping and the workflow. So, even if one provides you a paramtere file for IDQ, it might fail as your workflow definition and its paramters would be different. Thanks,K

    Hi all   My project migrated from Power Center to IDQ developer and I had to move all my mappings to IDQ developer. I was able to migrate everything except for the parameter files. It seems that the layout and syntax for parameter file is different from Power Center. Is there anyone who can help me out or send me a sample of a parameter file for IDQ? As well as a sample shell script to run the mapping or application from the Command line.This is an urgent need and It will be greatly appreciated.   ThanksNaveen Medisetti

  • ZAV 10 - Unable to open parameter file error

    When trying to launch a ZAV 10 app, C-Cure Administration Console, users are getting an error "**Unable to open parameter file cc800cl.pf, errno 2. (1247)". This only appears to be happening on Win7. This did work when first created, but after a few weeks the error has started to pop-up.

    If this was working and is not now, and you are certain nothing has changed on the client systems (or at least nothing that could interfere here), then this might be an issue with the license used when building the application. What is the expiry date of your license and was it applied prior to building this exe?
    If this isn't expiring please open an SR for this issue, if you can. This is the information the support team will require:
    - Copies of any warnings or errors around the time the issue occurs (or a copy of the application and system event logs, in .evtx format)
    - A copy of the exe you are using
    - If you can build the exe again as a diagnostic-mode executable and provide the diagnostics generated when attempting to run, that can be very helpful
    - It may also be required that you send installation media for the application and your build process, so the team can attempt to reproduce the issue in-house
    - You will also typically be asked for the .xappl file and associated Files folder, if reproducing in-house is required. This will become absolutely necessary if a ticket needs to be filed with Spoon, so sending it ahead of time is a good idea

  • RTF Templates and report file (.xdo)

    Hi all,
    I use Oracle report and I would like to migrate from that software to Oracle BI Publisher. During my tests, I encountered various problems like the following:
    I create my report (.xdo file is generated) in development with one RTF template. I load my template in the report and the system copy the rtf file is the same directory as the .xdo file. Also, the system modify the .xdo file to add a line like:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    When my report and template are ok, I update my customer to install them in production mode. When they are installed, my customer would modify the RTF template so he duplicates the RTF template, modify the file and load it in the report. Now, in the report, I have two lines:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    <template label="stkcinv2" type="rtf" url="stkcinv2.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    For my part, I modify the report in development to add a new value in the datamodel. Then I update another time my customer and erase the standard report by the new.
    the problem is that doing that, if I look at the .xdo file, I see that in the <templates> section, I have:
    <templates default="stkcinv">
    <template label="stkcinv" type="rtf" url="stkcinv.rtf" outputFormat="html,pdf,rtf"/>
    </templates>
    So the templates loaded in the .xdo file is lost and my customer must reload it in the new report. If my customer has 100 reports, each time I update the soft, he will have to reload all templates... Amazing...
    How can I do to avoid that problem ?

    Well there appears to be a bug in the RTF generator.
    It appears that Oracle want to use paragraph left and right indentation properties to pad text in cells away from cell borders. There is a bug in the rtf reader in word that causes problems if cell padding properties are used so paragraph indentation appears a sensible work round.
    By default there appears to be a left hand indentation of 5 applied to all paragraphs in cells. If a left hand cell maring is applied to cells then the left hand cell margin in the report increases in size.
    However, right hand cell margins appear to be ignored and NOT written as attributes to cell paragraph text in the the generated report, and this causes problems when trying to print an RTF report as numbers in cells get clipped by cell borders.

  • How can I display the correct enum ring value from a parameter file?

    A user will make selections based on the menu ring (there are several of these) and then the values are saved for later use as a parameter (text) file. I have several menu rings which I write out to a parameter (text) file.
    How can I take these text values back into the appropriate location in the menu ring. For example, if I have menuring_value at index 0, menuring_value at index 1, etc. how do I make sure that, when the par (text) file is loaded, the saved values are the ones displayed without erasing the displayed menu ring value and inputting the saved one (from the parameter file). I would like the text value to search the appropriate menu ring, make a match and then display that menu ring value when the parameter file is loaded.

    If I understand your question, attached VI should have solved your doubt
    In this example, Configuration File VIs are used to save & retrieve MenuRings' statuses.
    As this VI is improvised, please further modify it to suit your needs.
    Cheers!

  • Lost of Parameter file in web application

    Hi,
    We develop a java (1.5) application running on Tomcat (5.5 and 6.0).
    In this application, we use a parameter file in YAML format.
    Everything works perfectly except when the tomcat server is restarted.
    At this point, the application is no more able to reach the parameter file.
    We have to re-deploy the whole application to be able to use the parameter file.
    But we lost it again when the server is restarted.
    We don't know if the problem is coming from our tomcat configuration or from our java code.
    The problem is seen on Tomcat 5.5, 6.0 and on Linux and Mac OS X.
    So, it must come from our code.
    Do you have an idea ?
    Thanks
    Here is the code where the parameter file is read:
    final private String YAMLpath = "truc" + File.separator + "META-INF" + File.separator + "Parameters.yaml";
    try
                   Scanner openYAML55 = new Scanner(new File(this.YAMLpath) ); //For Tomcat5.5
                   this.readParameterFile(openYAML55);
                   openYAML55.close();
              catch(FileNotFoundException f)
                   f.printStackTrace();
    private void readParameterFile(Scanner paramFile)
         while(paramFile.hasNextLine())
                   Pattern paramLine = Pattern.compile("(\\w+)\\s*:\\s*(.*)");
                   Matcher paramArg = paramLine.matcher(paramFile.nextLine());
                   if ( paramArg.matches() )
    if ( paramArg.group(1).trim().equals("dbase") )
                             this.dbase = paramArg.group(2).replaceAll("\"", "").trim();
                        else if ( paramArg.group(1).trim().equals("dbport") )
                             this.dbport = Integer.parseInt( paramArg.group(2).replaceAll("\"", "").trim() );
                        else if ( paramArg.group(1).trim().equals("dbhost") )
                             this.dbhost = paramArg.group(2).replaceAll("\"", "").trim();
              this.bgeeRoot = this.serverRoot + this.bgeeRoot;
              this.homePage = this.serverRoot + this.homePage;
    }

    How about simply loading the file or obtaining its input stream as a resource using ClassLoader.getResource[AsStream]? Direct file access to parts of a web app... my oh my.

    I have searched google and SDN but not found anything usefull so far.

    Hi Rob,
    there is just one parameter file for each MaxDB instance - the currently active one.
    It's the file /sapdb/data/config/<SID>.
    As your current file seems to be damaged, you may rename it and run a
    param_restore 1
    to get the last backed up version of it back.
    ATTENTION : If you modified the volume configuration before the file got corrupt and no backup version of the parameter file had been created since than,  restoring the old version will make your database unstartable.
    The missing volume configuration parameters would then need to bee added manually again.

    Lars

  • BCM/SWIFT payment,  parameter file Receiver channel

    Iu2019m using the  u201CSWIFT_payload_parFile_Splitu201D Operation Mapping for the FILEACT payment transaction.
    The result should be
    1) payload file
    2) parameter file (*.par)
    This seems to work just fine. My problems starts with  the receiver channel for the *.par file.
    I need to know more about how to setup the modules and parameters in the "*.par" receiver channel.
    Is there a configuration guide for this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Frank,
    I am facing similar issue. I am able to generate the parameter file but the overrides section contains only one parameter "Request Type" whereas there are other parameters that are mandatory. How do I get these filled?

  • Use of Parameter file in DAC

    Hello Experts,
    I am new to DAC10.x version. Can any please tell me why the parameter file so much important in DAC. Any example link will also helpful.
    Thanks
    A

    The parameter file is used as a way to dynamically populate certain values in the ETL mappings and mapplets. Its useful because it allows you to change values in the DAC instead of manually editing the Informatica mappings. It provides a layer of flexibility that you would not have by Informatica itself.

  • How to use parameter file with java

    Is it possible to use a parameter file with Java, and is there any class/method to make it easy to call and use these parameter from a text file, other than scanning the whole text file manually as we can do normally with visual basic/c++, so we can call the program with the parameter file, like java testing c:\\testing.ini

    If I understand you correctly, you may be looking for a properties file. This is basically a text file that contains pairs of strings in the form:
    parameter1=value1
    parameter2=value2
    parameter3=value3
    ...etc.
    and the values are retrieved using the java.util.Properties class - see:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/util/Properties.html
    Sample use://Call chis method once, to load the props file.
    //props file is called "demo.properties", and is
    //in a directory that is included in the classpath
        private void loadMyProperties() throws Exception
         InputStream stream = getResourceAsStream("/demo.properties");
         if(stream == null)
             throw new Exception("stream is null!");
         demoProperties = new Properties();
         demoProperties.load(stream);
         stream.close();
    // Then you can retrieve properties in your code using:
    String param3 = demoProperties.getProperty("parameter3");
    //...etc

But Informatica maps are succeeding without any error. Also Parameter file location specified by DAC is different ie /u01/obi/inf_svr/server/infa_shared/SrcFile and proper parameter file exist in this location. Please someone help clarify what is happening here and how the maps are succeeding with the parameter file as specified in th workflow log.

    How to configure the task(Informatica workflow) which contains two sessions in it?
    Because I found a recommendation that every workflow should have only one session in it and the session name must be same as that of workflow name. But my requirement is, I have to configure a workflow in DAC which contains two sessions in it.
