LO Cockpit Data sources

Hi everybody,
i have a peculiar problem here.
I have activated some datasources for LO in RSA5 and when i checked in RSA6 i could find them, so they r active right.
i went to transaction LBWE in that screen i could find only few, the other three <b>(2LIS_40_REVAL, 2LIS_40_S278 and 2LIS_03_BX)</b> were missing in LBWE under retailing,and inventory what could be the reason and can anyone help me to solve this.

Neelkamal,
BX DS is needed for initialization of inventory stock only. Probably because of it, it is not seen.
MCNB is a tcode for filling setup table for this DS.
In general, installing of MM data is not so easy, and error prone.

No delta coming for LO cockpit data sources

Hi Gurus,
I have successfully initialized the LO cockpit datasources and loaded the data into BW.
However I am unable to load delta records. I have activated the data sources in LBWE. Job control is already set for 'Queued Delta'. I can see some records in RSA7 but no all delta records.
RMBWV302 & RMBWV303 program has also been executed successfully. However I can't see any enteries called MCEX03 & MCEX02 in LBWQ.
Am I missing something ??

Hi Ashu,
This is how delta works in brief
1. The setup table is used to load historical data and this is called initialization of delta. After this phase the setup tables have no use.
2. Once the initialization is done the delta records follow the below mentioned path
Transaction -> LBWQ -> Job control -> RSA7 queue -> Delta infopackage Run ( BW )
When you dont see MCEX03 & MCEX02 in your LBWQ, it means there has been no transaction done for these applications. The records without coming to LBWQ cant reach RSA7.

Pre transport Activities for Logistic Cockpit Data sources

Hi Friends,
I am transporting the LO cockpit (2LIS) datasources from Dev to Acc, i know we have to do some pre-transport activities like the following should be done, pls suggest me if im missing anything.
1. Run the V3 job (RMBWV311,12,13) to post data into RSA7
2. Stop V3 job
3. Run one 2 deltas to BW to flush RSA7
4. Do the transport
5. Restart V3
6. Continue w/ delta
I have a question here how do we stop the V3 Jobs or should we cancel the Realeased Job or do something else?

Hi,
You should ensure the following:
Setup tables for the concerned datasources are empty ( tr LBWG )
(ii) clean the entire data queue - flush data from the extraction queue to delta queue using 'job control' in LBWE
(iii) pull data to BW from the delta queue
(iv) stop the updates to extraction queue using 'job control' - you will have to delete the scheduled jobs
(v) stop BW pull jobs
(vi) ensure that no new transactions are posted during your transport pertaining to your application area - you might have to lock create / change / delete transactions in R/3 for some time - the best mechanism is to bring the system in single user mode.

Functionally LO Cockpit and FI Data Sources

Hi Experts,
I have been in BI for quite some time. I know general step of LO cockpit extraction quite well.
Can i get pdfs which functionally explain each application of LO data sources. Here by application i mean 2lis_11_ , 2lis_3_ i.e 3,11,12,etc. I want SD part cross related to BI.
Also understand kfs coming from SD source functionally to some extent.
I undertand application 3 datasources are run 1st when implementing LO, why so being explained in pdf. Functional significance of each application and all.
Same with the case of FI data sources. Can i get functional doucments which have signficance associacted with BI. I understand delta of some FI data sources work differently, which data source gets affected after which data source because of doc. postings and all.
End to end FI posting cycle and datasources getting affected would be very helpful.
I dont want to totally go into FI or SD, I want to learn their functional accumen reqd in terms of BI is concerned, so it createss better understanding in me.
Points will be assigned for sure.

It's a bit difficult to tell you this - apart from read the help files.
In addition to being a BW consultant for the past 10 years - I also have 13 years as a FICO consultant and each daya I am still learnign somethign new in Finance
Perhaps buy one of the FICO books that around - they dont cost that much

Data source 2LIS_03_BX is not getting displayed in LBWE

Dear All,
I was trying to extract MM data sources in R3 , I activated 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_BX ,2LIS_03_UM in RSA5 .After tat wen i tried to activate this data sources in LBWE only 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_UM are displayed under inventory.
please let me know how to get 2LIS_03_BX in LBWE

You wont find data source 2LIS_03_BX in the LBWE screen.
We use this data source as a one time activity. you can directly activate the data soruce using the transaction RSA5 and delete the set up tables and fill the set up tables and initialize to extract the historical stock data.
2LIS_03_BX is not part of LO cockpit, hence you will not see them in LBWE. Pls use transaction code MCNB to load the setup table before you load data into BI.
rest of the data source you use OLI1Bw and OLIZBW to load the set up tables for BF AND UM.

Error while activationg BI content for BI admin cockoit for data sources

I am doing BI content activation for BI admin cockpit, from SPRO -- Activation of BI content of BI admin cockpit , i ran the activation but it got failed. The error message says:
DataSource 0TCTBWOBJCT_ATTR from source system BWQCLNT500 could not be activated
This error is coming for data sources :0TCTPRCSVAR_ATTR, 0TCTBWOBJCT_TEXT, 0TCTPRCSVAR_TEXT and 0TCTBWOBJCT_ATTR.
I have applied the sap note 1110642 , 1110641 . also ran the program RSSM_SHIPDVERS_CLEANUP but did not able to find these info packages for this data spurces:

First of all Rather than using SPRO to install Admin Cockpit, its better to install it from Business Content, else many of your existing InfoObjects would get overwritten and you would require to revert them back.
2ndly, check if these DataSources are available in your source system. While installing from Business Content, the system prompts to log in to source system interactively and would install the DataSources in teh source system if they are not there already.
Also check what versions are your Source Systems on. Older versions may not have the DataSources while the new concept of Admin Cockpit is available in BI7.0 which goes well with ECC.

Deltas are not pick up by the data source

Hi,
From one weak onwards my data source is not pick any deltas today i found that the luw's are struck into LBWQ.I can see the luw's in lbwq .In rsa7 there is no luw'sie It shows 0.My data source 2lis_02_scl. The V3 job compleated success fully every day.
So how can i clear the LUW's to rsa7. Remember this is production .
This is very urgent please respond.

How to replicate Generic data source from R/3 to BI

Hi,
I have created generic datasource in r/3 using view. I replicated to BI.
I selected for DataSource (RSDS) instead of selecting 3.x DataSouce.
Now what r the steps to load data into cube.

About Generic Extraction:
In Sometimes the Standard Extraction Does not Satisfy the Customers Needs that time We have to use Generic Extraction.
generic extraction is also classified in to three types
using
1. View
2.Infoset query
3.Function module.
Procedure:
-->Go to Tcode : RSo2,
-->There give the name of data source which you want to create like
transaction data source or master data attribue or Text data source.
-->enter
-->again in the next screen you need to give application like SD or MM
etc
-->in the same screen need to select table/view or infosetquery or
function module. these are different ways of creating data sources.
-->Give the name for the same like if u r creating data source on table
give the name of table.
-->click on Generic delta which will there in application tool bar and
fil the required columns in that screen like type of delta and all

How to do basic LO extraction for SAP-R3-BW
1. Go to transaction code RSA3 and see if any data is available related to your DataSource. If data is there in RSA3 then go to transaction code LBWG (Delete Setup data) and delete the data by entering the application name.
2. Go to transaction SBIW --> Settings for Application Specific Datasource --> Logistics --> Managing extract structures --> Initialization --> Filling the Setup table --> Application specific setup of statistical data --> perform setup (relevant application)
3. In OLI*** (for example OLI7BW for Statistical setup for old documents : Orders) give the name of the run and execute. Now all the available records from R/3 will be loaded to setup tables.
4. Go to transaction RSA3 and check the data.
5. Go to transaction LBWE and make sure the update mode for the corresponding DataSource is serialized V3 update.
6. Go to BW system and create infopackage and under the update tab select the initialize delta process. And schedule the package. Now all the data available in the setup tables are now loaded into the data target.
7.Now for the delta records go to LBWE in R/3 and change the update mode for the corresponding DataSource to Direct/Queue delta. By doing this record will bypass SM13 and directly go to RSA7. Go to transaction code RSA7 there you can see green light # Once the new records are added immediately you can see the record in RSA7.
8.Go to BW system and create a new infopackage for delta loads. Double click on new infopackage. Under update tab you can see the delta update radio button.
9.Now you can go to your data target and see the delta record.

3 generic data sources or only one function module

Hi all,
I have 3 custom tables
1. ZCOUNTRY (giving the link between code entity and country)
1. ZCURR (giving the link between code entity and currency)
1. ZYTPE (giving the link between code entity and type entity)
I shall fill an info object which has as fields code entity, country,currency and type entity.
I have 2 solutions i suppose:
1. Create 3 generic data sources based on the 3 tables.
2. Create a generic data source by using the function module.The function module will populate an extract extracture from data from these 3 tables.
What is the best solution?What is the advantage of the chosen solution?

Hi,
Generic Extractors are based on View/Table or Fn Module or Infoset Query i.e all the extractors created via RSO2. The extractors you create for the customers would generally be generic extractors only. SAP has some other extractors like your LIS, LO Cockpit which are based on different extraction method.
Generic extractors are of 3 types:
1. Based on table/view
2. Based on Infoset Query
3. Based on Function module
The first 2 are straight forward extraction where you would either use a standard SAP or custom table/view or Infoset query to extract data.
However if you have to get data from more than 1 table and also incorporate some logic then you would use a fn module extractor. It is like a program where you would code using ABAP and have all your logic incorporated.

I have the data sources 0customer_attr, 0customer_text,. for loading the customer master data. I can extract the data from R/3 using these data sources.
But what is the need of 2LIS_01_S001 data source.
what data source should i use to load to the customers cube.
what is the difference be these data sources.

Hi Harish,
First go to RSA5 in ECC select your datasource 2LIS_11_VAHDR and activate it.
After activatin check in RSA6 whether the datasoure activated properly or not.
Then log on to BI sytem Select datasource and click on replicate.
Then Create Infocube infopackage ,Transformation, DTP ...entire flow. But dont schedule it because there is no data in SETUP Tables.For full load first we need to run statistical set up , so that data should come to SETUP Table.
Now go to ECC enter T.CODE OLI7BW to filled up the SETUP Table for datasource 2LIS_11_VAHDR.
It will ask you for Run Name etc give the run name and time limit and execute it.
If you get some error then first delete the SETUP Table by using Transaction Code LBWG.
In LBWG it will ask you for applicatiion number , give 11 i.e for sales datasourc and execute it.
Data will get deleted from SETUP Table. To check data is deleted or not in SET UP Tabe go to database table MC11VA0HDRSETUP. Always remember the name of SETUP Table will be Extract Structure followed by SETUP.
EX : If extract structure name is MC11VA0HDR then name of the SETUP Table will MC11VA0HDRSETUP.
If data gets deleted then again go to 0LI7BW and run the Statistical Setup then agan check in MC1VAOHDRSETUP table contains data or not.
Then trigger the Infopackage and DTP in BI. Above steps was for full load.
Now to Load deltas follow below steps.
First Create INIT at BI side which enable delta at ECC Side.
Then go to ECC and execute T.CODE LBWE.
LBWE is LO Cockpit Work Bench. There we have folowng functions 1.Maintan Datasource. 2.Maintain Extract Structure. 3. Job Control. 4.Delta Type 5.. Activate/deactivate.
If you want to add any new field to your datasource then to to Maintain Extract Strucutere remeber before adding or modififying datasource first we should deactivate datasource by using 5th function Activate/Deactivate.
Then select DELTA TYPE in delta type we have four types of delta. 1. Delta Queue (RSA7) 2. Queued Delta (LBWQ)
3. Unserialized (SM13) , 4. Seriaized (SM13)
If you select Delta queue then deltas drectly come to RSAT.
if you select Queued Delta deltas goes to LBWQ then you have perform V3 job by using Job Control function to move data from LBWQ to RSA7. Remeber to BI data always goes from RSA7 only.
If you select Unserealized then delta goes to SM13 again you have to perorm V3 Job to move deltas in RSA7.
Serialize update is not in used in Lo-cockpit.
There is a differerence between DELTA QUEUE , QUEUED DELTA, UNSERIALIZE UPDATE. Pls find the differences on net.
Then select your delta type and create deltas dtp in BI and start loading .

To find out which tables and fields arise from a datasource, do the following. (For example, 2LIS_11_VAITM datasource).
Transaction SBIW >>> Postprocessing of DataSources,Edit and find your DataSource. You will see the R/3 fields withing your datasource (which should also be in your extract structure).
If you wish to know which tables these fields come from, do the following.
Transaction LBWE. (LO Data Extraction Customising Cockpit). If your Datasource is 2LIS_11_VAITM, for example, go to section 11 (11:SD Sales). Select correct extract structure for your chosen DataSource. Click on 'Maintenance'. You will now get a window with two tables. The left table shows you the selected Datasource with the fields that exist in the daatsource.

SEM Management Cockpit - "Data Last Updated On:" message

Dear gurus,
I would like to know if there is a way to suppress the message "Data Last Updated On: XX.XX.XXXX XX:XX" it the SEM Management Cockpit graphics.
It started to appear after a support package installation but it is not a desired info for our users.

Got the solution! I had to enable the query for external access in the Extended Query properties. Post that the data source is being recognised in my SEM 3.5 managment cockpit.
