Load Applet Error on Sun SPE Pages
Hi,
I have a scenario where I am displaying the IDMXExampleEndUser form on the home page when an SPE user logs in. This form has a field definition for listing resources as follows:

Please note the lower case in "multiselect.class". This class is however available in idmclient.jar. Is this a known issue ? Please help out.
The list does become available when I change the field's display class from "MultiSelect" to "Select". I would assume this is some problem specific to the MultiSelect implementation class.

I suspect the culprit is the codebase setting. As you already know the multiselect class exists in the IDMCLIENT.JAR. The codebase setting is telling it to look in the specified path...where i suspect the jar file does not exist...remove the codebase setting or set it for the correct path.

Shaan...The null pointers you are gettings quite often come from attempting to reference applet methods like .getQueryObject or .getChartObject before they are ready for scripting.
Based upon your description of the problem in your initial forum post I would speculate that it's not 12.0 or the applets, but more than likely due to javascript on your page. For an applet to work inconsistently or sporadically it is typically due to timing issues that are outside the control attempts to man-handle the applets on a page with client-side script. An applet merely wants to query the server for knowledge of its underlying query and display templates, and when it has this information it runs the query and displays the results, so within a browser session where the client JRE has cached the knowledge of the QT and DT it just needs to request the data and display it.
Warning signs of this will be a body onLoad tag that reference an applet(s) or some sort of initialize function that attempts to force loading of the page in a particular order or progression (like would make more logical sense in server side programming). Initial page loading and timing issues will haunt pages developed like this, and the numerous variables involved on the client environment tend to make things difficult to troubleshoot with some of the apparent guesswork evidenced in this thread.
To test this simply isolate one of your single applets onto a single test page by itself and see if it consistently loads properly. If you have difficulties doing this because of too much script or dependencies between multiple applets, then you may be understanding the problem a little bit more than before.

Ben (support) - no that's not a time out concurrent connections are a little different then sessions and or connections. Lets say for an example you have 5 images on your site and 5 7 users come to your site this is not 7 concurrent connections but 35. They
do close after awhile hence why the 503 error comes and goes. You can have these connections close sooner using code but this is something you have to research using your favorite search engine

The link provided tells us : All Plesk accounts are limited to 200 simultaneous visitors.
From what Ben (support) says and a little extra research, if those aren't visitors but connections then it's quite easy to max out, especially if the connections aren't closed when finished using. I'd suggest forwarding this to Kasem to see what he thinks.

Power BI Sites Error
We were unable to load the Site. Refresh the page to try again
When opening Power BI Sites with internet explorer, in certain security configurations you may run into the above error. While we are looking into resolving this, please see the following workaround:
From the Tools menu, select internet options.
On the security tab uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode" checkbox form the relevant Zone (Intranet/Internet)
Remove all entries to *.powerbi.com from trusted sites or/and local intranet sites
On the advanced tab, uncheck the "Enable enhanced protected mode" (if you made a change here it will require a restart of the machine)
Restart and try again (if not changes done in the last step, just restart the browser)Hi
Any further debugging tips? I upgraded from IE9 to IE11 on my Win7 machine to try get Q&A working, it broke the entire PowerBI site for me -
"My Yahoo" page loads up as a blank white page, with no error messages or anything. Any ideas why?
I started a thread on this topic many months ago, and have yet to see any reply for support for this topic. The issue I have had now for over 6 months is that Firefox will not load my "My Yahoo" page at all. I get no error messages or anything, just a blank, white screen when I try to load it. I can load this same page in IE as well as Chrome, but I much prefer to use Firefox if I can. I did follow all of the instructions and ideas that are out on the forum for handling similar problems such as this, but with no success. Clear Cache, History, etc, as well as disabling Add-Ons, restarting, etc, as well as setting proxy settings to No Proxy, etc, etc. Does anyone have ideas ideas as to why Firefox is no longer able to load "My Yahoo" page, but I am able to load things like my Yahoo Mail page successfully? Thank you in advance for any ideas anyone has on this.
Firstly, a heartfelt "Thank You" for the prompt reply. I have gone through the steps you outlined above in the past, with no success, but I did them again just to be certain. One other thing that took place since posted this a few days ago, is that I "Updated Firefox, to 9.0.1 and after I did that, then Firefox would not even load at all. I kept getting a Firefox has crashed pop up, etc. So I figured before I could go through the steps you outlined above, I needed to "Uninstall and Reinstall" Firefox once again. I did this, and loaded the Yahoo Optimized version since apparently the generic version of Firefox, 9.0.1 must have some bugs that did not allow it to load up on my computer. After reloaded Firefox, I proceeded to go through the steps you have outlined above, and as typical, I still have the same problem, even in Safe Mode. My Yahoo comes up as a Blank White Page... no error messages or anything, just a blank white page. Since I have posted this I have been forced to use Google Chrome, and I really hate using that browser, but I don't know what else to do here. Any other ideas please? Thank you once again.
Note: Even as I am typing this Firefox is coming up with a pop up window, suggesting I update to version 9.0.1 since it is a security and stability update. However I won't do this, because the last time I did, Firefox would not load at all. -
Latest version of Firefox is having problems loading some sites, it tries to load and then gets taken over trying to load Google Analytics. No error messages, just a page that won't load. How do I get rid of this, it is a "pain in the neck"

http://I just spent 3 days with this issue as well. I finally fixed it by reluctantly adding yet another add-on called ADBLOCK
I was able to selectively block google-analytics. Now pages that weren't loading before are now loading.
eg vimeo.com starbucks.com & other random sites.
This was a tough one to fix because there is NO ERROR MESSAGE..page just shows it's loading...forever..& the bottom of my browser says 'waiting for google analytics'. I finally figured out google analytics is the culprit. Ironically, some help pages in trying to find a fix wouldn't load for me due to google analytics arghhh!
Im on a macbookpro & Safari worked fine for these same sites. It was just Firefox. I nearly switched back to Safari because of this stupid issue.

ClassNotFoundException when trying to access applet (jar) from a jsp page?
I have my applet in a jar file and I am specifying the applet tag in my jsp page as follows:

I tried with and without the codebase. The jar file is at the same location as the jsp page which has the above applet tag, however I get a ClassNotFoundException in the Sun Java Console in Internet Explorer. Any inputs on resolving this will be much appreciated.

This can happen if the applet is compiled using an higher version of java and the browser is pointing to an older version (even if minor version number is higher) -
Stack overflow error with Sun JVM
We have an application that was running on MSJVM. Recently we migrated to SUN JVM. After the migration, we get the error message - "Stack overflow at line 0 " at random, while loading applets.
Any solutions to this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Googling for "stack overflow at line 0" hints that the problem may be related to JavaScript. Is there JS on the web pages that elicit the error? The JVM upgrade might be a coincidence. -
Applet navigator to open a page in another frame.
Hello to the Java gurus out there,
I was wondering if someone could give me a pointer as to how I can get an applet navigator to open a page in another frame of the web browser?
Say for example, I have two frames in the main HTML page where one frame contains an Applet navigator, and the other page can be loaded based on where the user clicks on the applet navigator.
Capturing the mouse click event is all good, but then how do I load a page in another frame ??
Any help would be much appreciated.

Problems on loading applet in Netscape4.73(jre1.1.5) AppleMac OS-9.
when i try to load applet of size ~ 200kb in Netscape 4.73 AppleMac os9, then browser abruptly closing with the AppleMac os error message :- the Applicarion " Netscape Communicator " has unexpectedly quit because an error of type 2 occured. And then asking for system restart.
Since i am new to the AppleMac environment i cant adjust the settings please help me to overcome the problem. Its Very urgent and i am in great hurry pls.

I'm not a mac-os specialist (even I had some business with mac !!), and it is very difficult speaking in blind, but I have severals questions that may help you.
- Did you try you applet in other AppleMac plateform ?
- Does your applet work fine in other browser/plateform ?
- Does a small applet work fine on this plateform with this browser ?
- Does you applet contains instructions like System.exit, System.* or try to access (read or write) to local files ?
Otherelse it is possible you have problem with your jre config, try to configure your plugin with command like : -Xmx64m -Xms16m
(These commands tell the plugin to use at least 16 Mo memory and 64 Mo for the maximum see : http://java.sun.com/docs/hotspot/gc/)

How to load javafx applciation faster on web page

Well i have been using javafx for some weeks. I see it is not enough fast for it's loading on a browser. Because just imagine i have a small application on javafx just like the project manager which i put on my webpage. The rest of the content of the webpage loads really quickly but just the project manager loads too slow....I mean there must be some consistency in it's loading with the other content. I really want to know if there can be a piece of code that load the application really quickly??? The difference in the loading of the content of the page and the javafx application should not be shown. The <update check="background"/>... doesnot load it fast.
Please helpThe update check is, if I understood it correctly, to check if there is an update of the JavaFX runtime. Or perhaps (also?) of the application's jar, with regard to the user's cache.
The very first time the users load the applet, they have to get the JavaFX runtimes, which is time-consuming, as they are quite large (compared to size of typical applet). Although if you make a game, the applet blows fast as they include assets like images and sounds (Flash applets can load slowly too, because of that).
Next, the load time will be greatly reduced because the jars will be found in the cache. Unless the users clear it...
Another latency factor is just the load time of the JVM itself, and of its libraries.
Currently, I doubt there will be much ways to reduce this time (having a fast server can help...).
I believe Sun is well aware of this issue and is actively working on it.
For example, see latest release of Java (1.6.0_18), which curiously is available in [Java SE Downloads|http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp] but not in [Free Java Download|http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp] page (where we come from sun.com/java) nor in the automatic updates.
It [introduces a number of speed improvements|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/6u18.html], among them:
- Better startup of applications and applets on systems where D3D is used.
- Revised support for pre-verification of FX runtime. Improves warm start of typical FX applications by up to 15 percent. +(not dramatical but that's a step forward)+
- Concurrent download of jars for webstart applications and applets.
- Number of other startup improvements for UI applications and applets.
Some other (unrelated to our issue here) improvements are interesting for JavaFX:
- Improved performance of applications using translucent windows.
- Better performance and smaller memory consumption by text rasterizer.
- Faster processing of PNG images.
It also adds a number of JWS improvements.
The concurrent download of jars might be particularly critical for performance improvements of applets using lot of libraries.
