Loading videos and movies onto the fifth generation ipod

I would like to load my ipod with movies and other videos. These videos are already stored on my computer's hard disk. Have you got any suggestions?

Yeah... Your best bet is that the videos you are trying to import are in a format unrecognized by iTunes, since iTunes uses QuickTime to play video media you will have to convert your video so it will be recognized by quick time..http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/specs.html (see specifications at bottom of link page.) After you have converted the videos you should have no problem importing them in to iTunes, with the steps we discussed above.

I did find an error log related to the error code and tried all suggestions on the list of recommendations, still no luck
I definitely am running OS X10.5.8 (hopefully will be updating later on this month)
I tried several brand new discs from the same box, still no luck.
My last option is to go out and try a different brand, guess I'll go with Verbatim this time but I think I'll poke around some more before buying 20 more new discs.

A song is listed as being 4:17 seconds but stops after 35 seconds and moves onto the next song, this happens in iTunes and on my iPod Touch 4th gen, both are recently updated to the latest software and the album was purchased today.

This is bugging me quite a bit, I bought an album today and it lists the song as being 4 mins 17 seconds. However, as I mentioned, on both platforms it stops at around 35 seconds and flicks onto the next song in the case of iTunes or just stops playing audio for my iPod Touch 4th gen. It is a full song on Youtube and everywhere else I seem to look, so is this likely to be a software issue with iTunes/iOS or the song itself perhaps?

That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

Project idea: quickest way to load pictures and movies to the page.

In my homepage.mac.com website I used a javascript which referred to a text file to pre-load all the gif, jpeg and png graphic files into the users browser. The first page to my website was a small page of text someone would read and then given choices of where to click to next. The time for reading and deciding what to do next gave time for the person's browser to then load most if not all of the graphic files, this enabling faster loading of any of the following pages. The introduction page to one's website has to be small, and contain info to make someone stop and read and to give the time necessary for the browser to work the pre-upload of graphics. Navigating between pages is noticeably faster once all the graphics are loaded in.
My homepage.mac.com webpage does load faster after I implemented the java code, though I haven't spent the time to implement it into my web.mac.com website. No time to do so as of lately.
And I'm sort of lazy in that it is not a priority to do so yet. Later on I will definitely want to tinker and put this code into my iWeb site, because my future website will probably contain alot of pictures, though if anyone is familiar with the script and wants to take the time to figure out how to work it into their iWeb website, and then pass on all the knowledge of how it's done to all of us here at these iWeb discussions ..., well, thanks for helping alot of us stay lazy and not have to struggle doing so ourselves. Connecting the Fifth Generation iPod to Windows

Seems many have this problem:
I have the 5th generation 30gb ipod classic, but my system doesn't recognize it nor reads my device in itunes...
ODDS:
ports are 2.0 greater! Reinstalled itunes! tried eveything with apple support- seriously! Cable is fine!
Note:
ipod will charge---when in mode it will show can disconnect, but will not show do not disconnect
All the ports are updated and function properly
** Apple mobile device shows as started with "services" file- through administrative tools 'under control panel'
*Apple mobile device does not show through device manager...
There is no mass USB, no apple USB, no other usb in device manager

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

Problems trying to upload video and movies to the internet

We are trying to upload a movie that we have made on imovie recently to a website on the internet, however I am not able to upload the movie. I keep getting a message that I need a codec. I only have quicktime player 7.4.1 (v14). Should I get quicktime Pro or is there someway I can do this without having to purchase the upgrade

What QuickTime codecs did you use for the export?
QuickTime Pro doesn't add any other codecs found in the "free" version.

HT1849 I bought a song(which is 5 1/2 minutes long), but it stops playing after 15 seconds and moves onto the next song. I bought this song in a set with 5 other songs, all of which play for full time. Is there anyway to fix this?

Hi - I know my 30GB ipod can play music videos, tv shows, short films etc..., but is there any way to transfer some of my DVDs to my ipod?

Depends on what input options you have on your TV.
If your TV has DVI in then you need a MiniDisplay Port to DVI Adapter.
If your TV does not have DVI in but has HDMI then you need a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI Adapter with Audio Support.

it would take much more than 1000-2000 signatures. this would cost apple money to write the software and whatnot to get it to work on the other iPods so they're not gonna do for such a small amount of people.

Unfortunately, the fifth generation iPod nano does not have a built-in Bluetooth chip. The seventh generation iPod nano, introduced in fall 2012, is the only iPod nano as of now that does have Bluetooth built-in.
