Local currency type in BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST

Hi All,
I am creating a G/L posting using the BAPI BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST.
I have to pass the Document Currency, Local Currency and Group currency values based on some conditions. I know this can be passed to CURRENCYAMOUNT tables parameter.
I would like to what value needs to be used for CURR_TYPE field for Local Currency.
For. Ex. 00 is for document currency and 30 is for group currecny.
Thanks,
Preetham S

Hi Preetham,
It must be '10' for local or company code currency.
Thanks,
Manoj

  • Profit Centre Local Currency

Hi friends, I need your help with the following subject:
I need to obtain profit center accounting reports in both Controlling Area currency and company code currency. The controlling area currency differs from the company code currency. If I set the profit center local currency type 20 (controlling area currency), can I obtain Profit Center standard Reports in the company code currency?  or I need to set the profit center local currency for type 90 (profit center currency) with the company code currency in order to obtain such reports?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gerardo.

    Hi,
You can take currency type 20 (Controlling Area Currency), and Company Code currency can be different. In PCA tables, the values are populated in Profit Center currency, Company Code currency as well as document currency.
If Company Code currency is EUR and Controlling Area and Profit Center currency are USD, you can get reports both in EUR and USD. Further if transaction currency is GBP you can get reports in GBP.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Second Local currency deletion

    Hello guys,
My client has defined 2 local currencies for a company code into FI-GL (ECC6). This company is productive and some documents have already been recorded...
The second local currency type is "50" and I want to delete this 2nd local currency, do you know the consequences and procedure for that? Do you know any OSS forbidding this deletion?
Thank you in advance for your help
    Best regards
    Pascal

You can delete the 2nd local currency any time as it won't impact your future transactions but you can not remove this from the documents which have already been posted in your system and recorded in the tables. SAP generally operates in following currencies:
    00 : Transaction Currency
    10: Company Code Currency
    30: Group Currency
    40: Hard Currency
    50 : Index Currency
60 : Global Company Code Currency
You will find this setting at top node of you configuration where you assing additional currency to your country. Once this is done you assign this currency in the ledger node of New Gl. Here you will find a node to assign 'Currencies to the leading ledgers'. You can delete additional currency from this config node and then post new entries and test. I advise to di this in your sandbox environment.
    Hope this helps

  • Local Currency - Translation Date Type

    Hi:
We are on ECC 6.0 with New GL.
I wanted to check if we can change the Translation Date Type for 1st local currency (10) from Translation date to document date? There are three options in this field - Posting date, document date and translation date. But when we maintain it (under additional local currencies for a company code), local currency has this grey out and comes default to translation date. Not sure where it is defined that local currency can be translated only based on translation date.
However for 2nd and 3rd currencies this field is open and allow to choose any date type.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Rahul

    Hello Rahul,
For the local currency, it is hard-coded in the system to
choose the translation date as the transalation date (type 3). If you
change this translation date when you enter a document, the system will
use this new date. However, if you don't change this, the system will
always use the posting date as translation date for the local currency.
    hope thic clarifies

    Hello,
    I have following problem:
    E.g.
One company code in Germany having Local Currency as EUR and Another Company Code in France having Same Local Currency as EUR.
If i am posting transaction say on 12/09/2008 in USD for both company code and Exchange rate in Two Countries are as follows:
Germany  -EUR to USD -1.25 on -12/09/2008 EXRTTY: M
France     -EUR to USD -1.50 on -12/09/2008 EXRTTY: M
By default system picks up "M" exhchange Rate Type [EXRTTY]. And we cannot change exchange rate type for Currency "10" Local Currency.
Please help me how take care of such situation.
    Regards,
    Manish

    Hi,
No i want system to pick diffrent exchange rate so i want to change exchange rate type for 1st Local Currency.
But that area is greyed out. Is there any system setting where i can maintain diffrent Exchange rate type for 1st Local Currency instead of "M". or is there any other way out that system will pick up diffrent exchange rate.
Problem is that two entities are operating in different market having same local currency but conversion rate for Foreign currency will be diffrent e.g. Local Currency EUR Exchange rate between EUR -USD in France 1.20 and Exchange rate between EUR-USD in Germany 1.25.
Is there any wayout to deal with such situation.
    Please suggest.

  • Why we should give currency type 30 in 2nd local currency ?

    Hi,
why we should give currency type 30  2nd local currency in Define Currencies of Leading Ledger. Here 30 indicates EUR only. I want to give USD as 2nd local currency.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Gangaraju

Group currency is unique at client level, i.e. this is same for all company codes.
    go to scc4
Check the currency of your client.
This currency comes by default for group currency and you can't give as your own.
If you have any requirement, then you can give it as third local currency.
Also remember third local currency you have to maintain at first country level.

  • Profit Center Local Currency (Currency Type 90)

We are in the middle of implementation of SAP and our curreny setting is as the following:
    Group Currency: USD
Controlling Area Currency: Currency Type 30 (USD)
FYI we are also implementing multiple valuation as the following (T-Code 8KEM):
    Currency Type    Valuation
    10                     Legal
    30                     Group
    10                     Profit Center
Now we set up Profit Center local Currency as Curreny Type 90 (Profit Center invoice currency) in IDR since we want to have different currency then our Group and Controlling Area currency (USD).
However I am just worried that this will cause inconsistency in Profit Center especially between FI and CO.
Anybody has experience whether it is safe to use curreny type 90 as Profit Center local Currency?

    Hi Ernst,
Did you ever get a solution for your query. I am facing a similar situation.
In my case the company code currency is USD and controlling area currency is also USD. I am not sure if I should leave the currency field blank in the PCA controlling area settings or populate it with 30 or 90? 90 to me means I am recording PCA currency again as USD when the system anyways records the transactions in both the transaction and local currency. 30 makes sense to me where I can choose the group currency EUR but then the currency setting of PCA is inconsistent with that of the controlling area.
Would appreciate if you can advice on the matter.
    Happy New Year

  • When saving sales order Error determining local currency: ER type 'M' date

    Hi experts
we have created new sales area for intercompany billing process. we are doing testing for this.
    Update was terminated
after saviing sales order express document update was terminated received from author
sales order Error Info...   M2 802: Error determining local currency: ER type 'M' date 02.08.2011.
    i need your input
    thanks

    Dear Manoj Verma,
Check the pricing date of the sales order.
Check the valid from date for the currency types/exchange rate type M in OB08
Now check whether the pricing date in sales order is before the valid from date in OB08.
If so , make the valid from date in OB08  as the pricing date in sales order in OB08 and then save.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Post in local currency with BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST

    Hi,
BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST works with document currency - can it post with local currency?
    Thks,
    William

looks like there is some misunderstanding around this...
let's say the company code currency (=local currency) is EUR.
-If you want to post in EUR, just give EUR into BAPIACCR08-CURRENCY (you don't need BAPIACCR08-CURR_TYPE )
-If you want to post in a foreign currency (anything which is not EUR) and you want SAP to calculate the exchange rate for you than give the foreign currency into BAPIACCR08-CURRENCY (again: you don't need BAPIACCR08-CURR_TYPE )
-If you want to post in a foreign currency and you DON'T want SAP to calculate the exchange rate for you, than it is the case when you need to use BAPIACCR08-CURR_TYPE the following way:
for each single item, you'll need two lines in BAPIACCR08:
    BAPIACCR08-CURR_TYPE = '00'
    BAPIACCR08-CURRENCY = 'USD'
    BAPIACCR08-CURR_TYPE = '10'
    BAPIACCR08-CURRENCY = 'EUR'
of course amount will be added for both lines
(it is clearly written down in the documentation of the BAPI)

I have the following scenario../ steps followed..

    e.  Initially invoice is posted for qty 1.  and value of 70.00 GBP
    f.  Further another  move invoice is posted for the same line item of the PO for Qty 1 and value of 30.  GBP.

    4. Posted

    Dear Suresh
This is a standard behaviour only.
    1. when you ost intital invoice for Qty1 and value 70 GBP, then perform GR, the amount in local currency will be shown as 70 GBP with Quantity 1.
    2. When you post GR for Quantity 1 after posting two IRs (one with Qty1-70 GBP + second with Qty 1-30 GBP), , the amount shown in local currency will be 100/2 = 50 GBP. System will show as Quantity 1 due for GR.
Always use GR based IR which will not create any issue or Please define the over delivery/under delivery tolerences which will not allow to post more than the PO quantity. Main reason is posting IR mroe than the PO quantity. We can't use userexit for this. This is standard process. If you bypass these controls, will create a inconsistencies.
    Warm regards

From the form's general selection, select the currency type and define as local variable.

  • GR/IR account difference for posting in second local currency

    Hello SAP Gurus,
We have set up additional local currency in OB22 (Currency type 30, rate type M, Translation on the basis of "Transaction Currency", date type: 3). We have set up exchange rates in Tr. code: OB08 and using GR based IR.Now:
    1. Create a account assigned PO (with Goods receipt)  in foreign Currency say EUR 500. Local currency and additional local currency are same say AUD. Exchange Rate for PO is .0.61120  EUR = 1 AUD.
    2. Did MiGO with Rate .0.62220 = 1AUD system posted folllowing  Entries:
TC= Transaction Currency, LC= Local Currency, LC2= Additional Local Currency
    Dr EXpense A/C  500 (TC=EUR)     803.60(LC=AUD)         803.60 (LC2=AUD)
    Cr GR/IR Clg A/C  500 (TC=EUR)     803.60(LC=AUD)         803.60 (LC2=AUD)
    3. Did MIRO with rate: 0.61550 EUR= 1AUD system is posting following entries (WRONG)
    Cr  Vendor A/C      500 (TC=EUR)    812.35 (LC2=AUD)         812.35 (LC2=AUD)
    Dr  GR/IR Clg A/C  500 (TC=EUR)     803.60(LC=AUD)         812.35 (LC2=AUD)
    Dr  Expense A/C    0   (TC=EUR)         8.75 (LC=AUD)              *0.00(LC2=AUD)*
What I think it must do is keep GR/IR clearing AC same for both local currency and LC2  and post difference to original expense account in local and LC2 currency.
It use to work perfectly but seems something gone wrong recently in system(with some OSS note or something else) that seems to have cause this issue.
Any knowledge/experience sharing will be highly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Chandra

  • Amount in local currency for GRs

    Hello gurus,
can anyone please explain to me this phenomenon:
We have got a PO for 10 pieces of a material. The price is $7,40 per 10 pieces, so $7,40 total.
Someone posted a goods receipt for 7 pieces. For whatever reason the amount in local currency (Amount in LC) for that GR is $6,17.
Later, this GR was reversed using movement type 122 and a new GR for 10 pieces was posted. This time, the Amount in LC is $15,66.
Can someone please explain to me where those values come from? I cannot change the price in MIGO, can I? And if I cannot, how does the system calculate those values?
The problem is that now there is a difference between GR and invoice (correct price = $ 7,73)...
    Thanks
    Alicia

    Hi
The problem is due to non sequential operation.
    Generally,
Step 1: When GR is done after P.O , system will pick the price of P.O and Post.
Inventory (Dr)  and GR/IR ( Cr.)
Step 2 : If the IR is done after P.O and latter GR, then IR price take precedence over the P.O price.
Step 3 : If there is no stock and Partial IR is done after P.O , tehn while GR system will take partial value from P.O and Partial from P.O
    In this case.
    PO: 10 pcs., $7,40 : Unit Price is .74$
    GR (101): 7 pcs., $6,17 (incl. VAT) : Base Price 5.18 + 0.99 = 6.17$
    GR (122): -7 pcs., $6,17 (goods return)
    Till now it is o.k
    Now : IR: 1 pc., $ 7,73 (wrong IR, 1 pc instead of 10) : Unit price is 7.73$.
    GR (101): 10 pcs., = 1 pc. price from IR ( 7.73) + 9*(.86) = 15.47$
*0.86 : refers to the P.O value inclusive of Tax ( assuming the Tax as 16.04)
The problem in such cases is due to in appropriate GR/IR entry .
Solution : Always Can cell all the documents last come first basis then post the document one by one.
Solution 2 : Do clear the GR/IR account through Manual JV from FI module and Change the price by MR21 entry.

  • 0COMP_CODE Local currency different than 0COMPANY currency

    Hello guys,
We are implementing BCS for our client and the scenario for the same is as follows:
We are using ECC 6.0, BW 3.5 with SEM 4.0., we have activated New GL Accounting in ECC 6.0. and have been able to bring in data from totals table FAGLFLEXT into BW.
Now we need to bring in the data from BW to BCS cubes using the load from data stream method. We needed to bring all the three currency types (transaction, group and local) into the SEM BCS cube (0BCS_C10), so we have added all the 3 currencies in the data basis roles.
When we run the load from data stream method, we get the following error for some items:
Error message UCD1 032 (Local currency of company X is not correct).
This message occurs for the company codes (0COMP_CODE) which not have the same currency as their related Company (0COMPANY).
Could you please help us solving this "issue" ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Regards,
    Pascal MORIZUR

    Pascal,
IMHO, the situation is a bit different.
AFAIU, It doesn't matter which local currency is set for 0COMP_CODE in ECC.
The BCS totals cube has three key figures for currencies. Each KF has attached to it a currency key. In your case this key doesn't correspond to local currency set for 0COMPANY.
    This causes the error.
If I were you, I'd try to replace incoming local currency key by the proper currency key. The particular solution may depend on your details. Try to add an attribute of currency to 0COMP_CODE and to MOVE this attribute to local currency in mapping.
Very straight forward but not flexible is to use a CONSTANT in mapping (if all the companies have the same local currency). If not - use also a condition which will determine for which company code which local currency to apply.
