Local number in Mexico

I have set up my local number in Mexico (just updated where I am and the US numbers "transformed" intro local Mexican nuumbers), but when I call the local number (or numbers) it is always busy .  I am in Queretaro and dialed local skype number with and without the area code (442) and always busy...  Any idea why?

These are Direct Dial #s. You can just click on the # and get straight through to your contact so each contact has a dedicated #. They are free.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

  • How to pick a local number?

When I signed up for skype number it gave me an area code that was on the other side of the state and that was the only option.  Is that common?

    1.  You can sign-up for the unlimited US/Canada subscription for 2.99 a month, unless a year plan is offered that would be approx. 36 dollars a year.  If you have a subscription the price per year for an online number (if they have one available) is reduced to 30 dollars.  This makes the total cost 66 dollars a year.
If you have a free account and dial an 800 number they cannot return your call, if they try the random number that displays on their end, it won't go through to you or anybody.  You can always verify a cell phone via SMS as your caller ID, that way if someone wants to return your call, they could reach you on your cell phone (Your cellphone appears in their display when you Skype call them)
    2.  If Skype doesn't have an online number in your area code.  There is nothing you can do.  You can just check from time to time to see if one becomes available.
    3.  I got my local number and ensured my family could reach me locally without it costing them anything extra.  When I had a landline it was also good to know I wouldn't be charged any additional money by my telco f I chose to test call myself.
    4.  Try to buy a Skype online number, if there is one available in your area, you will be able to purchase it.  You can still see the list of numbers without buying them.
    5.  A Skype online number is a phone number people can reach you at.  It allows people with normal phones to call your computer without having to have Skype installed.  Otherwise people can only reach you via a computer using the Skype client.

  • Where is   sign when you call international number, but first you call local number and after connect open keyboard and see that sign   doesn't exist only 0

Where is   sign when you call international number, but first you call local number and after connect open keyboard and see that sign   doesn't exist only 0

No that is not work. Try to call some number and when is connect click on keyboard and you can see that sign "+" doesn't exist.
So I use local number, when I'm connect I have option to call international number but like "+3193675xxxx" how I can put?
Before on iOS 6 I do it.

  • I only got dial tone but can't dial local number

    Hi All,
We are upgrading our existing Cisco 3640 router with two nm-2v's with three e&m voice cards) to Cisco 3725 router from the central site( running configuration attached). The remote site uses the same 3640 router.
Before the migration, our VoIP connection from two sites works fine. Both sites used Cisco 3640(two nm-2v's and three e&m voice cards).
After we migrated the central site to Cisco 3725 router( one nm-2v installed with two e&m voice cards) using the same parameters on the Cisco 3640 router, we can only get a dial tone to the remote site but can't connect to the local number. We are using IOS Voice on the Cisco 3725 router(central site) version 12.3(8)T3.
Attached are the running configuration for the Cisco3640 and Cisco3725 router.
During the migration we have verified that the Analog E&M Hardware is recognized by the Router using the IOS Voice software by issuing the show version command .
We have also verified that all voice ports are active and verified the E&M signaling type, Audio implementation, Start dial supervision and dial method by issuing the show voice port command. The show voice port command was issued after configuring all the parameters mentioned. This parameters are based on the current config of the Cisco 3640 router to communicate to the PBX.
We have assumed the wiring arrangement between the PBX and the voice gateway(Cisco router) to be OK, since it is already running using the Cisco 3640 router.
We have also verified that the Cisco 3725 router is communicating with the PBX. By issuing the "debug vpm signal command", the supervision signaling or the on-hook/off-hook signals are being transmitted between the PBX and the router by lifting the phone handset and dialing the extension number of the remote site. But we only got a dial tone but could not dial the local number.
We have checked if the Cisco 3725 router is sending and receiving digits to and from the PBX or if the address information (DTMF digits or Pulse Dial) is being passed between both ends by issuing the "debug vtsp dsp command". But unfortunately the router debugging output shows no signs of digits being send and received between the two devices.
With this, are there any issues that we need to consider on the cisco 3725 before migration? Our data connection and dial-up for remote users works fine. Only the VoIP link to the remote site.
Hope you can provide inputs on this problem.
    Thanks,
    udimpas

Ok thanks. I did try the online help. Initially got a very helpful young women who then transfered me to a thoroughly unhelpful man who just said i should wait for the engineer and there was nothing they could do.
Well the engineers turned up mid morning on friday. Turns out the dial tone i was getting was the previous owner's line that had been blocked when they left. the engineers attached a new bt box, then had to go to the exchange to connect my number, then back to my flat to test. all sorted but seems totally unneccesary. shouldn't this have all happened as part of the activation process and not involved me taking a half days holiday..oh well

With Online Numbers, receiving calls on them using Skype is free.  You would only have to purchase Skype Credit or a subscription if you used Call Forwarding to divert calls to a telephone number.
If you purchase a UK Online Number, calls from them to your Online Number would be billed the same way as calling a non-Skype landline number in the same area.  It may be a local call, or - at most - a domestic long-distance call in the UK.  This sounds like the better way to go, as those UK contacts would have to pay for an international call if you had a Mexican Online Number for them to ring you on.  Again, it would cost you nothing to receive the call in Skype, but callers would pay whatever their telephone carrier charges to make a call to that location.
Now if you had people in Mexico who also needed to reach you via telephone, you could purchase a UK and a Mexican Online Number.  You can have up to 10 Online Numbers on a single Skype account.  I have numbers in these two countries, along with the USA and Australia.  Then people in those countries are either making a local call (possibly a free local call) or no worse than a domestic long-distance call to reach me.  Or they can use Skype, and it would be a free call on both ends.

  • How to parse a BigDecimal from a localized number String

I want to be able to build a BigDecimal instance from a localized String.
    i.e.: From a string like "2.123,45123" I want to get when I get by doing: new BigDecimal("2123.45123");
The NumberFormat parse(String) method answers doubles, so I lose presition. When I do nf.parse(2,0000000000000000001) y get a Double representing 2. I can't make a BigDecimal from such a string afaik.
The problem is the localized version on the number (in the string) otherwise it works fine (with the US locale).

    >>
So you only can't convert a string to a BigDoublethat
uses the ',' for the decimal place and the '.' forthe
real number separators? If that's the case, whycan't
you use a String buffer then to strip out all the
periods and replace the comma with a period so it
looks like a US decimal string then use that?Thank you very much for your answer. That would have
    been a workaround. I found a BigDecimal parser that's
    absolutely perfect for the task.

Gives to BigDecimals what java standard gives to all
the other Number subclasses. Good! Frankly, I'm usually just lazy enough to hack a solution.... because I like to say that I hack. evil laugh

  • New US local number is a shame

I just purchased a skype local NYC number to use it from Pakistan tonigh. Immediately after that I subscribed to International unlimited worldwide trial package .. And I dont have any credits on my account only the trial subscription.
When someone calls me, I see them calling but when I attend I hear no voice.. neither my callers hear anything...
Similarly when I make a call, the bell ting ting ting rings but when seconds begin to be counted, there is a complete silence.
I was not expecting such a low standard from skype..
I even tried to test the call features to check my mic, speaker, internet etc.. but all is working..
then I tried to talk to the agents but it kept me waiting forever and I was not able to reach any customer service agent.

Didn't save me from what I think are design stupidities, but the upgrade was flawless.
Yup, like changing folders to also open within the same folder when you double click a subfolder, instead of opening in a new folder. Never had to do that without holding the Option key before. So why weren't users given an option to choose? As you note, it's not a bug, but a feature change/loss many users don't like.
I'm way off topic here, but I agree with the OP's sentiments, not because I've found 10.9.3 to be buggy - actually it is one of the cleaner major upgrades I've encountered. It is "a shame" for the continued iOSification of OSX and if I understand yesterday's "keynote" we are looking at more in 10.10. I regularly send feedback to Apple - never acknowledged - protesting the gratuituous and seemingly irrational changes in the interface particularly as the user is (1) not told (2) given no options. I really need to do creative work and a $5K iPad just won't make it for me.
To the OP, I don't do user switching so haven't seen the issue you're facing. Is it critical to your work to use this feature?

  • Pedimento number for mexico

    Hello-
I would like to know if any company has implemented a solution for accomodating "Pedimento" numbers from Goods Receipt to Customers Invoice. We came to know about a legal requirement for mexico that every part that is imported into mexico should be attached with a Pedimento (customs document number). Also this pedimento number needs to show up in the invoice when the part is sold.
Any input in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    RN

    Hi,
You need to use batch management and open characteristics to enter the pedimento number at GR. Of course you need to have batch determination on the SD side.

  • One time calls from local number to group conferen...

Is the only way to accept calls via this online number from a landline.  We have a group conference call tonight and one person does not have a computer.  Can they dial into the call in any form?

    Douglas,
I think those users will need to have their expectations reset, bite the bullit and you will need to implement SNR.
although it is probably technically possible to have mobile numbers routed to through a SIP trunk, I dont think there will be a single provider who will do it.
You are right, if you forward all mobile to their respective DID and you implement SNR on those, you will have a loop.
    Cheers

  • Do i get charged if I use facetime to a number in mexico?

i dont know if i will get charges as making a phone call..

Facetime only works over WiFi to other iOS or Mac users with Facetime enabled.
There is no charge to use FaceTime above what you're already paying for WiFi usage.
If you initiate the FaceTime call directly from the contacts info page (rather than telephoning them first) there's no charge at all. If you telephone them first before starting the FaceTime call, you'll be charged for the call up to the point when you switch to FaceTime.

  • Family leaving in less than a week for Cancun - What do I do for older teens who still want to text?

    All,
I have nowhere else to go but this forum.  I have called Verizon asked them about upgrading to the Global Plan (which I plan on getting) but no one can seem to answer the one question I need answered.  Is there any way to avoid the 50 cent charge per text to send and the 5 cent charge per text to receive?  I do not want to block their text messages as I was hoping to be able to text them down there so we could stay connected.  We have approximately 22 family members going 12 of which are older teenagers and some in early 20s. I am trying to avoid coming home to a $1000 dollar bill from Verizon but still allowing our kids to have fun texting their friends in the US.
As large as Verizon is, I am absolutely shocked that there is no international type of service you can purchase.  Or for that matter someone who actually knows what they are talking about when it comes to texting, calling, snap chatting, twittering overseas. Me, my sister and my sister in law have all called Verizon and each were told three different things!
I know they said we should be on Wi-Fi as much as possible but at the same time I was told most resorts in Cancun will make you pay for Wi-Fi!  I feel like I am banging my head up against the wall.
All the teenagers have at least an IPhone 4 or above and all are smart phones. Can someone please tell me if there is an APP or something that I am not aware of that can be used for these teenagers while we are in Cancun?
Any help or any guidance as to what I need to do would be greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind I am a little bit computer savvy, but I am not phone savvy at all.  So the more it is spelled out, step by step on what we need to do, the better I will be able to understand it.
    Thank you for your time
    Lotton

Unfortunately, when you go on vacation, you have expenses. If you increase the things you want to do while on vacation, that will increase your expenses. That would include using your smartphones while abroad. It used to be when going abroad, keeping in touch with home was an expensive proposition. It still is, except it is NOW more convenient. If you want to do so, it is going to cost you.
You say you are shocked Verizon does not have some sort of "international type of service" while in the previous paragraph you were looking for ways to avoid paying the charges Verizon has for just such a service. Verizon DOES have an "international type of service", it appears you are simply not happy with the price of such a service.
Use the interactive trip planner. The prices you previously stated are the prices Verizon has for the service you want. Those with 4G LTE phones may be able to get cheaper service simply by purchasing a local SIM card when you arrive at your location. Of course, that would mean having a local number in Mexico and the people from home would not be able to contact you unless you were to give them the new number. Those with only an iPhone 4, unfortunately, would not be able to do so as those have no SIM card to change. Those with an iPhone 4S, could call Verizon to have their phones unlocked and then be able to switch SIM cards for cheaper service. Those with 4G LTE phones should just be able to switch the SIM card as they are already unlocked for such a switch.
