Locate songs which are on 1 playlist

Hello, I'm curious if there is a way to get a list of songs which are on more than one playlist?
I can right-click on particular song and choose "Show in playlist", but I would like to have a smart playlist or column with ability to sort out all songs at once.

There isn't a way to show that information, either as an additional column, or to pick it out with smart playlist rules. In principle you could create a script that processes each track and counts the number of playlists it is a member of and then does something with that information such as adding to another list, or setting an otherwise unused field with the result.

i can drag and drop one folder which is a proper album into itunes under playlist. if i drag and drop two proper albums into itunes it is also ok but if itunes does not know my own compliations and i drag and rop my 3000 folders in one shot into itunes i get only one playlist containing all songs.
pleased to hear if anybody know how i can avoid to do 3000 times drag and drop a folder into itunes.

Before you begin the import, edit the properties of the tracks to set the Album Artist to Various Artists and Part of a Compilation to Yes.

No, you should have Restrictions OFF.
Computer's iTunes > Preferences > Parental Preferences > everything should be unchecked.
Are the songs also on computer's iTunes?

Did you try setting itunes to run with administrator privileges?
Since I changed that I no longer have this issue

Do I have to do a search in itunes for the category I want, and then go and read about that application (if a website is offered).
Are the only forums for specific applications, attached to each individual application? That is, there is no one forum which deals with queries/features of applications in itunes?

Apps aren't an iTunes issue, per se, since iTunes only downloads and transfers them. Try:

How do I sync my old ipod and save my ipad songs which are different?

Like a lot of folks, I have 4 devices that I sync with Itunes. I have diffent songs on my ipod than on my ipad (or shuffle for that matter) and I do not want to sync the songs that are in the itunes library when it pops up (they are the songs on my ipad) but want to transfer and sync the songs currently on my ipod to the library (without erasing the others of course)
When I tried to do this, I got the message to either "erase and sync" which would have erased the songs on my ipod and transferred the songs in the library to the ipod, which I didn't want to do. I forgot what the other option was but it was not the correct one either.
Bottom line: I need to know how to sync multiple devices and each keep their own unique specific library of songs and videos.

How do I delete one copy of a song that is in two p[aylists?

You almost certainly only have one copy of the song in your library. The song listings in a playlist are just "pointers" to the song, not duplicate copies. So if you want to remove the song from one of the playlists, just highlight the song in that playlist and press the "Delete" key.
If you want to remove the song from both playlists, then unless you want to remove the song completely from your iTunes library, you'll have to delete the song from each playlist separately.

Ipod4 syncs music incorrectly with itunes after ios5 update. Playlists list some songs which are greyed out and wont play. Suspect they werent downloaded as Ipod now holds 16 000 songs. Previous max was 9000 songs.

I upgraded to IOS5. Now have synching problems using the USB Cable . I tried everything. Resent the Synch history in ITunes. Unticked all playlists and synched to clear all music etc of the iPod. Reticked items to synch then still have trouble. After it synchs, I see a playlist with some songs in black and some in grey. The black songs play, the grey ones don't. The same songs in iTunes do appear there and will play. I don't have any broken links in my library. Anyone know of a solution.? Synching takes forever and seems to get stuck on importing the pictures for ages. I walk away and next morning it will be finished syncing but with aforementioned problems.

Thanks for the reply but that is not quite what I ment proberly my fault for not explianing clear enough.

What I want to do is make sure every song in my library is in a playlist.
I can do this manually but means have flick between library and playlists thought there might be a trick on here to do it,without setting up smart playlists. The reason I want to do this is I use my I pod in the car and dont want to be searching for songs while driving.This is why I need to use playlists to make it easy.

How can I listen to songs which are grey on my itouch?

I had itunes installed on my family computer for years and once i got my own laptop i had my own. I had my ipod to manually sync so that when I plugged it in the songs already on my ipod would not delete and just have what is now on my new itunes. this whas working fine for months upon months. lasst week however all the songs from my old itunes are appearing grey in my music folder on my actual ipod and they all have alerts on my itunes and wont play at all. how do i get those songs to be available to play again like they were before. they are all there just unlistenable(is that a word?) please help!

You can delete individual songs, artists, albums, playlists, compilations and composers from your iPhone. To delete an item, swipe across it, then tap Delete.

Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

Im scared to sync my ipod to my itunes as ive already synced my iphone to it and i dont want to loose all info on my ipod.
i want ALL the songs to be put in both my iphone and ipod.. (as i recently changed computers not all my songs are on the one computer)
is there anyway of doing this? or do i have to wait for the icloud? or put all my songs on the one computer?

connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

How do I manage a different ipod to the songs which are in my iTunes?

Hi there, just received an old iPod froma friend of mine...
and when I plug it into iTunes, I can see all his songs and playlists but cannot access any of them meaning it does not allow me to click on them to play delete or alter the playlists...
I wanna keep some songs from there, but mainly I want to copy over my iTunes Library on this iPod.
Can someone give me the best solution for this, I'd really appreciate it?

Your friend can give you his old iPod, but has no right to give you the songs. Restore it and put your own content onto it.

Can't locate songs that are in the ITunes folder

I have an exclamation point next to every song even though it is in the iTunes music folder. I have checked that the path to the music folder is correct - it there any way of re-linking all songs to the folder short of locating each manually?
Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Try this:
Go to iTunes->Preferences->Advanced (general): change the music folder location to the new location of your files. Click OK. (If it already set correctly, set it to something different, click OK, and then go back and set it to the correct location.)
