Thanks for your response. However, maybe I haven't been specific enough: I would like to find the files of the emoticons, themselves. Like in the old iChat app, where you could find them under /Applications/iChat/Contents/PlugIns/Standard.smileypack/Contents/Resources/.
I would like to add an emoticon myself to the system.

While trying to use airdrop, the files located in finder are not visable. What to do?

I would like to xfer some files from my macbook pro to my new imac desktop using airdrop. I get visibility of both computers using airdrop,
however all the files located in finder are hidden as soon as airdrop starts running.

A guess: your friend was standing beside you when this was demonstrated. There are several apps available (all described as "entertainment"). The app was simply showing where your friends iphone was, i.e. Right where you were. Your position cannot be tracked. The apps are meant for joking.

Try adding [email protected] as a VIP contact in your icloud mail app using the appleid used for icloud if using multiple accounts (i.e different itunes and icloud account).
But seriously that happens really !? not getting emails for using icloud services with a valid appleid.

IF you had activated find my ipod on the ipod itself BEFORE it was stolen and it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi, THEN you may be able to find the registered address of the wi-fi router to which it is connected.

You can't delete the update and your problem probably is not in the Update.
Check to see if Location Services is turned ON. (Settings > Privacy > Location Services)
What model iPad Mini do you have? WiFi or WiFi + Cellular

It's not likely to re-connect to a network lying on the ground somewhere and getting rained on, it would be really great if I could see that map again so I could use it's last known location to find it. Kind of pointless to have a 24 hr killswitch deadline. If I had known I would have taken a screen-shot while I still had access to the information. Since I lost the phone at Canada's Wonderland (which is now closed for the season) I don't have access to the location where I lost the phone (under a roller-coaster probably), and so I wanted to send the Lost And Found people a screen-shot of it's last known location, but I guess I can't do that now. (Apple are big jerks)

The phone "beeps" only if "Play Sound" is ON and after clicking "Send" (even if no message). Just locating the phone doesn't make it beep.

Shortly after installing Leopard I noticed that the property allowing one to fine-tune the whereabouts of a file in the Finder (not to a single location, nor to all, but to a number of specific ones) has been omitted. This property was available in Tiger (Command-F, then choose "Other", before, if need be, pinpointing the file type, creation date, etc.) to contain the search criteria to the specified locations. Leopard, instead, only allows you to either choose the directory wherefrom the "find" command was launched, or the whole of "This Mac" (e.g., the default "Macintosh HD" drive and all the drives (including optical) mounted). Well, that's a shame: I'd personally resorted to using the useful faculty in question in Tiger very often, and found it very useful.
Also, the drop-down menus (specifying the filetype, creator, date created, contents, keyword and so on...) do not all work equally well. For instance, choosing the "Email addresses" yields no result even when the file with a given name (keyword, etc.) is contained in a (number of) emails from the given email address. As well-implemented as the search criteria specification appears at the first sight (an excellent idea to elaborate even further on), it often doesn't work at all.
I hope Apple does come across this or similar posts and rectifies the issue.

Type in file location in Finder or file selector windows

Is there any way I can get a text field, preferrably with filename completion, where I can simply type in the location of a file or folder? In the Finder or file selector dialog, that is?
Yeah, a directory GUI is nice, but in some cases it is actually faster to write the name than to track down and click through a chain of folder icons. I mean, while still using the GUI - not doing everything in the shell. And just being able to see the path to the directory you're looking at may be useful, too...

Whoops. Somehow I forgot about Go->Go To Folder, and overlooked it when trying to find it, when I wanted to do this for the first time in a while. How embarassing...
This interface is of course also available in the file selector via the normal shortcut (ShiftOptionG)
Even "more direct" access to folder location would sometimes be nice, though...

I'm trying to find an exact, one-off, file in my home directory, but locate is giving me various options:
locate 9.txt
gives me 9.txt & 99.txt; how can I find the specific file?

locate 9.txt | grep '^9.txt$'
except locate is going to give you path information so may
locate 9.txt | grep '/9.txt$'
Or you could try the 'find' command:
find $HOME -iname '9.txt'

If you have a networked printer, they sometimes have SD Card slots, USB thumbdrive slots, etc... and the printer offers to be a file server to share the contents of those removable camera storage devices.
It is possible your home WiFi router can also act as a printer server, or with a USB disk (or thumb drive) attached, a file server.
You could use a utility such as Bonjour Browser which will give you more information about the devices it sees on your home network
