Locked Out - Unable to Sync to my OSX Version 10.4.11

Due to a high security email account I recently was forced to used a passcode on my phone...which had to be changed weekly. At 6 a.m. yesterday I was forced to change it yet again - needless to say I forgot my code, tried various possible codes, went to the AT&T Store and am now at the "iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes" screen. I've never been able to sync to my computer because it's outdated - OSX 10.4.11. Even if I could, I still don't know my passcode (exhausted all possibles) and now I don't know how to "start over"without the sync capability...much as this isn't what I want to do anyway due to losses.
Suggestions? Can I reboot without the sync? Back to the AT&T Store. No Apple Store in Rochester.

There is no easy way to get around the passcode lock feature. If this were easy to bypass, there wouldn't be much reason to have the feature in the first place.
You can power your iPhone off and on and/or reboot/restart the iPhone by doing an iPhone reset, but this won't get rid of the passcode lock or affect any data or settings. The only way to get rid of a passcode lock that you don't remember is by restoring the iPhone with iTunes.

  • Hard drive wiped out unable to sync to restore. help!

i had a problem with songs skipping or jump to next. i restored it with same problem and was told to wipe the hard drive. lost os unable to sync (syncs but unable to restore)from itune. help please.

The iTunes content sync is one-way: Computer to phone. You can transfer iTunes purchased music & apps: Connect your phone, iTunes running, first make sure your computer is authorized: Store>Authorize this Computer, then: File>Transfer Purchases. For music ripped on your own, you'll have to use third-party software to first extract such from your phone, as Apple makes no provisions to do so. Do this before you do anything else:

  • ITunes 10.3 thinks it's a version below? No ping, locked out from iphone sync

Hi, my iTunes thinks it's a version below for some reason
I have 10.3 installed (Finder says so, iTunes > About says so) but when I try go into ping it gives me the "See what you're missing, upgrade to 10.3" message - I hadn't worried about this too much before but I just updated my iPhone to the OS 5 beta and now iTunes is not letting me sync at all leaving me with a fairly useless and unsyncable iPhone and crippled iTunes.
I have tried re-installing iTunes (Yes I even deleted all the preference files) I have tried iTunes on another account on my macbook and it gives the same error.
I actually do not know a single person that is able to access ping without getting some update error even though everyone is using the latest iTunes.
Please help, I need to sync my iPhone!
Here is a screenshot of the Ping message: http://cl.ly/470n472Q2C442b2k0w3Z

  • Why does Premiere pro locks out effect and media render when I have an active creative cloud account?

PP was operating correctly with full effects.  Relaunched today with active cc acct confirmed and effects got locked out just like I have a trial version.  Any suggestions.  We relaunched PP several times with the same result.

If Premiere is acting weird restart computer. Hold down shift+alt while opening Premiere until welcome screen.
    See if that will help.

  • CS3 Leopard: System Lock Out

This now the 5th time this week I've had my system completely lock out while working in the most updated version Illustrator CS3, and ONLY within Illustrator. 3 out of the 5 times it has been while using the type tool, either creating a new text box or adjusting a current one. The other two times have been while performing basic shape manipulations.
Essentially though, it's locking out the entire system. I've waited, up to 20 minutes in case it was processing entirely too long (which shouldn't really happen with 4GB of RAM in this beast), even closed and re-opened my MacBook Pro thinking that would fix the problem. When I open it back up, the screen does not re-illuminate.
It seems the only fix to this problem is holding the power button and completely rebooting the computer seeing as Force Quit (from the keyboard command) will not work, nor will it let me switch to other programs or click on anything as it changes from the colored wheel to the pointer when it feels like it.
Only other thing, is that iTunes will continue to play. No other keyboard or system commands will work, such as adjusting volume, switching programs or exposé. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it really just me?

    Hi Joe:
Im having the exact same problem with Illustrator 13.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.2; in my case, I have installed Leopard last sunday and I havent really tested my machine yet in real work but seemed to be perfect except when applying Overprint in Illustrator. Did you find any solution?
Please, anyone, I hate to reboot my machine this way.

I am locked out of my iphone. In resetting my passcode I must have hit a wrong digit, because the 4 digits I thought I used Don't work (and of course not my old passcode). I have tried the instructions both for "if you have previously synced your device with iTunes" and "If you have Never synced your device with iTunes" . Neither has worked and I'm in a vicious circle with each time after lengthy downloads it still all ends with the program, & my phone, asking for my passcode to proceed.  I'm not sure if I have ever synced to my mac book (i may have) but my address book seems to automatically update on both devices without the need to plug in. Thank you for any knowledgable help that could efficiently get me  out of this passcode ****!

    Hi DRussell,
If you have not sync'd your device to your Mac then you will have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore as a new device. Read the information in this link and follow the instructions to recover the phone:

It all depends on the definition of "factory unlocked". If the phone was purchased directly from Apple and the receipt says "Unlocked" then updating or restoring it will leave it unlocked (Apple never uses the term "factory unlocked" as there is no such thing; phones are unlocked at activation time). Similarly, if it had been locked to a carrier and the carrier authorized it to be unlocked, and you went through the unlocking steps they provided, it is permanently unlocked.
Unfortunately, a lot of the phones sold as "factory unlocked" were actually unlocked by hacking in the "factory" in the basement of some shop somewhere. These phones at best will become locked to the original carrier if restored, and in the worst case will be permanently disabled if restored.

    - You can only syncewith one iTunes library.  It sounds like you change libraries such as changing the computer.
    - As you may know you can transfer iTunes' pruchases to a new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - This previous discussion provide info on how to move other music from an iPod to a computer:
    Best iPod to PC
    - You can also manage music with different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
    - If you need more help please provide more information.

  • I'm running OSX 10.9.2, when my system updated it required my Apple ID... When I provided it, it said that AppleID hadn't been used at the App Store... so now I'm locked out of my system... what do I do??

First, there are no PPC Macs that can run Snow Leopard or later. Did you buy your iMac used? Where did you get Mavericks in the first place? If it was installed by the seller, then you are not licesnsed to use his/her copy.
Do you know exactly what iMac model you have? If it's a post 2010 model you can do the following:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. You may then go to the App Store to download Mavericks using your Apple ID.
If you have a 2010 model you may require a special firmware upgrade before you can do the above: Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery.
If you have an earlier iMac then you must get Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed by installing a version of Snow Leopard either included on the software restore discs or:
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.

  • I am unable to load the newest itunes update to my 10.5.8 osx. The update requires 10.6 so this makes me unable to sync my updated phone and ipad with my imac. Solutions?

I am looking for suggestions and possibly a solution to the following problem: The new itunes update requires at least a 10.6 os.x. My imac is a 10.5.8. I am unable to sync my iphone or ipad, which both have the update, with my imac. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD and run the 10.6.8 combo updater.
