Log in error message, any idea?

I am getting the following errors which are not allowing me to log on. I am trying to log on to a new (never been used) Open Directory. This is the first iMac I am trying to join to the network. Thanks.

As always the first thing to try is DNS. Without it nothing will work well - if at all. You need it just to provide the stability the Server needs simply to maintain itself before you even begin to contemplate anything else.
This part:
"homedir=/Network/Servers/SFHIGH.net/Volumes/Data/s_home/test"
does not look right to me. I would have expected to have seen something like:
"homedir=/Network/Servers/yourservername,yourdomain.net/Volumes/Data/s_home/test "
The difference between the two URLs are obvious. It appears from yours that you've either not defined a name for your Server or there's no .TLD for your domain. DNS Services do not have to be running on the Server itself. If you already have an existing DNS Server providing DNS Resolution for your network then use that instead. If this is the only Server on the network then you must configure DNS Services and make sure they're working properly. If I was you I'd start again as you've got nothing really to lose. Don't confuse privately maintained DNS Services with what's available publicly.
