Logic pro 7 & Korg Triton Pro

Hi
I have a Korg Triton Pro and I am trying to find out how I can configure Logic to see all the sound banks correctly?
For the older version of Logic, I downloaded an environment from the Korg website but there is nothing there for Logic Pro 7 and the Triton so I imagine Logic has the presets somewhere in the program?
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Hey there,
SoundDiver is an application, after downloading the app,you should be able to run it by clicking on the file you just downloaded.I don't remember if it is as a .dmg file,i have installed this ages ago,if it is you have to open it to find there the app and drug it to your desktop.
If it is a .dmg and your system doesn't recognise the file that's another issue!
''SoundDiver is a universal, MIDI device editor and librarian program. It supports a huge list of devices, has a user-friendly interface, and integration with Logic.
Graphic editors allow you to edit every aspect of your setup with just a few mouse clicks. You can freely organize and catalog your patches in searchable libraries and define shortcut keys to speed up your work. ''
Try downloading the file again.
When you do and let's say that this time you will be able to see the file,
Open first logic and the the SoundDiver.
Follow the instructions that the startup window will give you, make sure all your midi devices are on and let it scan your system
I think you have to dump data from triton to soundDiver for it to see the banks name list.
Go to install under windows, add device triton pro, then open setup <windows> and under new >build library>select all entries or memory,
you have to do a data dump of everything from triton.
You will see a moving bar saying receiving(data from triton)when you press ok on Triton's screen to send the data to SD.
After doing that you will be able to see the banks and the names.
Let me know if that worked.

  • Korg Triton versus Logic-Pro 7

Genklag

I can't answer the question, but I will take a stab at the translation. Genklag, mon francais n'est plus parfait, alors, je vous donne mes excuses en avance...
Just bought a G5 dual 2 g proc. with Logic Audio Pro 7 and an RME Fireface 800. My Korg Triton Pro X isn't recognized by Logic (at least it doesn't show up in the logic [startup?] menu). What do I need to do to use the [internal?] sounds in my Korg Tri.Pro X? Do I need to download something or get another driver? I'm inclined to keep both Logic and the Korg, but if they are incompatible (or if one way or another everything will just crash every two seconds) I will need to get rid of one or the other... And apparently the manufacturer of each unit is at odds with the other as usual (now that I have bought everything...! including two 23" mac dislplays etc...) Does someone have and answer or have I just made a big mistake?

  • Logic Pro 8 with Triton Studio MIDI Data Not Sending

I have a Triton Studio (Korg), recently got a MIDI IN/OUT to USB plug in, for my macbook.
Never done this before, thus am trying to figure this out:
My computer is showing that the USB plug in is indeed there, and Logic Pro sees the device as well... however when I punch the keys in the keyboard, the data does not seem to transfer into the Logic Pro track.
I just want to get it set up, so I can record onto Logic Pro 8, creating music on this software.  As in playing my board, having the software receive what I am playing.  Just piano stuff really...  Any help I can get is appreciated, I have looked through all sorts of forums and manuals, but maybe an explanation would help, or clarity on what the basic settings should be at, so it can work, then if it still does not work, then maybe there's another issue.
Also, when I start Logic Pro 8, it says "Cannot find DAE Folder in "System Folder" them "ESB TDM Plug-in not found"
Are these anything to worry about?  This computer is used, thus I am not the first owner.

The cable labeled IN goes to the MIDI OUT port on the keyboard....etc.
You need to use an external MIDI track or a Software (virtual) Instrument track to record MIDI.
Normally this is correct, but I have seen a USB Interface where the cables are labelled the other way round.... IN goes to IN, OUT goes to OUT.
Crazy situation, but might be worth checking?

That's one I've never seen but have no doubt they exist.
Perhaps a quality control issue.... Nah!
    To the O.P.
Does the Korg Triton have to be enabled for MIDI out.
As I recall some Korg Triton models had both MIDI ports and a built in USB interface and there was a MIDI Menu where either port could be enabled. It's worth checking into even if your model does not have the built-in USB output.
Are you using 10.6.8 like your tagline says?

    MIDI is MIDI.
if the keyboard has MIDI-OUT, and the MIDI interface you buy is Mac compatible, it will work

  • Transferring Files from Triton Le (via Smart card) into Logic pro 9

I'm trying to get original material from my triton Le smart card into Logic pro 9. I've looked at a couple forums and tried different ways. I know i can do it track by track/ real time audio, but would prefer having it as midi, as i've found cutting and splicing the realtime has produced some glitches in the music. The other way was to use a usb floppy disk drive save my material as midi on the floppy then open it in logic. This i've tried but must be missing something because i drag the file from my 17n1 card reader (which reads my smart card) into the floppy and it just takes the file as it is.
This will get figured out soon, some help would be great!!!

  • Logic Pro and Korg Zero 8

I use Logic pro (8) and now I would like to record audio through Korg Zero 8.
The only sound I get is in Mic 1 - Setting, but not through firewire.
In Audio or Audio/MIDI setting I get only strange noises. Logic 8 recognizes the sound interface, but audio recording seems impossible.
Does anyone know how to fix it, if it's fixable at all?
    Thanks

I want to suggest you that a patchlist for the X50 be included with a future Logic Pro update, because it's impossible to work seriously without the name of sounds and I think that X50 will be one of the most important synth in the future (like wavestation).
    Thank you very much.

Korg nano séries it compatible with Logic Pro x ?

It's usually not about if the hardware is compatible with LPX.. It's if it is compatible with Mountain Lion that matters... as LPX needs 10.8.4 to run...
So, if the Nano series is compatible with Mountain Lion, you should be good to go..
To find out, see Korg's website

  • Yamaha MO8 and Korg Volcas with Logic Pro X- recommendations for mixer and audio interface

I plan to use Logic Pro X to access and configure the patch list for my Yamaha MO8 workstation. The Steinberg software I downloaded previously didn't work and never allowed me to configure the sounds. From what I've heard, I was told to use a cheap mixer or a Audio/MIDI interface (like the Scarlett 2i2 or 4i4). The Yamaha MO8 will be used as a master and has MIDI IN, OUT, and THRU. I also have the Korg Volca synths to use as slaves (they only have the MIDI IN port), and plan to connect them to the MIDI THRU on the keyboard. I already have the Yamaha USB driver installed, and the Mac recognizes the device. I also have the Portmidi app and wonder if that will allow me to see the patch list (with the actual names, not numbers).
What mixer and audio/MIDI interface do you recommend to use the Yamaha MO8 and the Korg Volcas? Just to be clear, I don't want to use software synths, but would like to use the external instruments to get the audio (which I know can be selected through the Environment Panel on Logic Pro X).

Anything with 2 audio inputs and 2 MIDI outs.
-Out HP jack of Volca-1/8 to 1/4 adapter into Audio interface 1 (For any that are stereo use both 1 and 2 and use a Y splitter in addition to 1/8 to 1/4 adapters.
-Midi out from interface to Midi in of volca (Or buy a USB to MIDI interface for about $35)
-When starting up the volcas hold down the "Memory button" the LED will tell you what MIDI channel it is set to, you can change it if you wish)
-Create external MIDI track and set it to the same channel as the Volca (Only if you want to do sequencing in the DAW, if thee Volca sequencer is handling it then not necessary)
-Patch together the Volcas via the "synch out/Synch in" jacks to insure they are synched
-Record them all together or one at a time, depending on how many simultaneous tracks your interface can handle.

  • Is this a bug in Logic Pro?

I use a MAC G5 with Logic Pro 7.2.1 - I play a Korg Triton through a Motu Micro Express Midi interface to access the sounds in Logic as well as my Ivory Grand Piano Plug In. A Mackie Control Universal is my interface.
Ever since I got geared up last March I noticed that when I changed files (song projects) from client to client during the course of the day that my Ivory track would show up transposed a step down. Not limited to the Ivory track sometimes a Bass track, maybe a Bass from Apples Jam Packs, would be transposed.
I never have messed with the transposition of any Logic track, I don't even know how to do that, but I have transposed a song or two in the Ivory Grand Piano Plug In Window.
It was my understanding that once you close the Logic file that it would remember the parameters of that file the next time you opened it.
Well something very telling happened yesterday. In the morning I worked on a clients song. It was a song that early on I may have transposed the Ivory track to help the singer. I closed out of that file and when I brought up a file of another client's work their Ivory track and their Bass track were transposed down a step. Keep in mind that the day before that client's track played down perfectly in the right key and I'm sure I closed the file with it in the right key. And obviously all the audio tracks remained in the original correct key.
Here's the kicker. Fearing that I would mess up my client's song I quickly closed the file without saving any changes and completely closed Logic. When I rebooted Logic Pro and reopened their file the Ivory Grand piano track and the Logic Bass track were in key again!
This has happened quite a few times to me but only now have I realized that completely closing down Logic fixes the problem. ie - If I just ping pong from one file to the next without closing Logic down I have this transposing problem on the Midi instrument tracks.
I'd like to remedy this because it's time consuming to close down Logic between every client. Any ideas? Thanks

InnoMan, I experience frequent problems with Logic Pro that require quitting and relaunching the application. I'd say in a typical 3-hour session working with Logic, I end up doing this about 4 or 5 times. The glitches I experience sometimes involve transposition of notes.
Tell me, when your track gets transposed, does it actually appear transposed, or does it just sound that way? In other words, does the region become magically set to transpose (say, set to +4 or something)? Or, when you go into the region, have the notes been moved?
If neither of these things is happening, but the track just sounds wrong, then that's a problem I've been having. I have a bass line that repeats throughout a track, and it's all in key (A). Recently, I moved that baseline further along in the track. I changed nothing. The first time I listened to it, it all sounded fine. Every subsequent listening, however, sounded like the notes had been transposed to a completely different key. The region had not been transposed, and the notes in the region are still in A. However, it sounds completely off.
I tried completely recreating the region, instead of using a copy from earlier in the track. That worked on the first listen, however again, subsequent listenings and the notes are off.
I'm guessing that upgrading to Logic 7.2.1 might make a difference (I'm using 7.1.1). However, Apple wants me to give them $50 for this experiment, and given Logic's reliability so far (pretty bad), I'm loathe to give Apple more money for this thing.
Anyhow, let me know your experience. Thanks.

  • Help setting up my audio interface with logic pro x

    Hi everyone,
I am a newbie with regards to home recording and using Logic Pro X and I need some help and advice about setting up my home recording set up for the first time. I want to connect my synthesizer Korg Triton Extreme to my Audio Interface Steinberg UR22 to my Apple Imac computer.
What I would like is if I can create backing tracks or use pre-set sounds or drum patterns from my Korg Triton Extreme synthesizer and then transfer them onto Logic Pro X to help me compose songs.
How should I go about doing this? And what settings should be applied to Logic Pro X so that I can hear the songs as they are being played and recorded?
So far I have connected my synthesizer's two outputs to the two inputs on my Steinberg UR22 Audio Interface. I have also connected the USB point on the audio interface to my Apple Imac computer. But when I have tried to add a drum track from the Korg Triton Extreme synthesizer I cannot seem to add any of the drum sounds. Nothing appears to be recorded despite me trying several times. I cannot hear any sound coming from the audio interface either despite having a pair of headphones plugged into it.
I would also like to find a way to synchronise the drum tracks I want to record from my Korg Triton Extreme synthesizer to Logic Pro X. So that when I click on the record button on Logic Pro X the synthesizer track automatically starts playing and recording on Logic Pro X. Whats the best way to do this? And will I need a Midi cable for any of the things I want to do?
    Many thanks,
    James.

    Hi James
I just got myself a macbook pro and logic pro X, and I also have a Triton Extreme and the UR22. So I know what the learning curve can be like - it's been a long time since I've used a sequencer in a computer.
I assume you are aware of the difference between audio and midi? With your current setup, all you can do is play your Triton and record the sounds as audio loops - you should be able to hear the Triton through headphones plugged into the UR22, and (assuming you have installed the UR22 driver) you can also hear the Triton through your computer speakers (or headphone output) once you tell Logic there is sound coming in from the UR22.
If you want to be able to play the sounds in logic pro, or transfer drum patterns (which are in midi format), you will definitely need midi cables (you may be able to use midi by connecting the Triton's USB out to your computer, but having not tried that, I don't know if it will work - it does on more recent synths)

  • Logic Pro keeps (Not Responding) when launched or opening tracks...

Running logic Pro 7.2.1 on Power Mac G5 and using a Tascam FW-1884 control surface. During startup logic Pro hangs. Sometime if a song is opened via "Finder" it opens fine, but most times it just hangs. Also, not sure if this is related, but all logic pop-up window have this funky maroon color and its hard to read the text and button can't be seen at all.
    PLEASE help!!!!!! Production DOWN!
    -Chico

I had many problems with my Mac G5 2.7 refurb/Logic 7.2.1 when I first got it back in March. Although my problems were different than yours some things I remember doing that helped:
Trashing Logic's preferences fixed a situaution where my Logic windows were flashing randomly and Midi info was corrupted causing my Mackie Control Universal and my Korg Triton to freak out Logic.
Repairing disk permissions because 2 times Logic did not totally install correctly. Yes I reinstalled Logic at least 4 times to figure out why I was having freezeups system wide.
Working closely with Apple Care documenting my problems and finally getting my local Apple store in our local Mall to change out the motherboard, dual processors and optical drive. Yes essentially a new computer. Since that time I have not had one system wide freezeup (any wood around here)
    or major problem.
AT one point running the "Quick Test" from Apple's startup disc showed a Bad RAM chip. Again not related to you but running the test could show something.
I have 2 issues left to fix - Logic 7.2.1 for me has a transposition problem. Midi tracks will show up after I open a song file transposed down a step. The fix is to reboot Logic which is a pain. 2nd - Annoying beep coming from my power supply. Beep is audible in studio near the tower and is also in the audio chain coming out of speakers. No fix yet but again I'm working with Apple Care.

  • Please Help Connect MV8000 with LOGIC PRO 8

Hello I have a MV-8000 , a Korg Triton, and an iMAC with Reason, and LOGIC PRO 8.
I can use them all pretty well separately, but that is the problem: they are all SEPARATE music stations. SO I really want all to work seamlessly with each other. I want my main work station to be Logic.I can create the basic beats and tunes on the MV-8000 and then fix them up and sequence them on Logic. I also want to have access to reason through Logic as wel. If anyone one could help me by telling me what is needed to be done or showing me a website that explains in details how I can make all four systems work flawlessly together.
If this message is to vague I found someone who was in my exact same predicament.Click this link and he can explain better than I can what I want to do . http://logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=5683&sid=b97ff1f90561a135cc8a6f556e75496 5
    Thanks so much

Hi, could you give more info as far as what type of input device if any you are using? Firewire, usb, name and model? Running reasons into Logic Pro 8 is pretty simple by following theses steps.
    1. Make sure Logic is started first if you want it to be the host (master)
    2. In logic insert new external midi track
    3. Open Reasons (there are several ways of doing this but here is one) load an instrument no mixer needed in Reasons in this method, if the instrument is stereo it will automatically be routed to 1-2 of the Audio Device in Reasons, manually move them to 3-4 (next stereo instrument 5-6 and so on)
    4. Go back to Logic open up the mixer, Click options> create new aux channel strips, the new auxillary window opens, the number box has 1 for the track you are adding. change format to stereo if working with stereo, input would be 3-4, leave out put alone, click create
    5. Finally go to the external midi track you created in step 2 make suer ibrary is showing on the left and click reasons and the reason istrument you added. You should be able to record the reason instrument within Logic now.

  • How to get GM Drums to work in Korg Triton Logic Environment

I'm currently using Logic Pro 7.1 and have got a Triton Pro hooked up through a MOTU 828 Mk2. I downloaded the Triron Environment Template from the Korg Website and it's working perfectly so far.
The only issue I'm having is getting the GM drums to work.
    Help!
    G5   Mac OS X (10.3.4)   1.8Ghz Dual Processor, 2GB RAM

    (A) It seems that when I load a song in Logic initially & I set up the GM sounds to thet corresponding instruments, it does play back all the instruments correctly. But once I start selecting an individual MIDI track in the Arrange Window, only that instrument is played back for all the other MIDI tracks.
    (B) Even when all the correct GM sounds are playing back correctly & I save it as a MIDI file, it plays back only as a single instrument with Standard Drums when I've used several GM sounds & other GM drum sounds.

  • Setting Up a New Studio with Logic Pro 9

    Hi Experts,
I need your suggestion and help in setting up my Home Studio. I have the below hardware and would like to seek the suggestion of the experts in the forum to set this up.

I would like to use one of the Workstation (Yamaha Motif XS) as a Master Keyboard and use with Logic as the Master Sequencer. I would also like to use the Roland Fantom G6 and Korg Triton LE as MIDI and Audio Sources. Audio is not a problem as all of these are going straight into the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Now I have connected the Yamaha Motif XS 8 MIDI IN & OUT to Focusrite however I would like to complete the Architecture where in I can choose any Instrument from Logic / Reason / Yamaha / Motif / Korg and use the Logic as the Master Sequencer and use the Yamaha Motif to play these parts from the different sources.
