I updated to OS X Mavericks and now trying to run Logic Pro X on a MacBook Pro mid-2009, using an M-Audio Axiom 49 and an M-Audio Fast Track Pro... Logic keeps telling me that Mac OS X MIDI Services are not available... How do I solve this problem?
I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As". So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail. I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
Here's what I know:
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update. None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them. This is maddening! What can be done? Apple?? Anyone??? -

The installer for Logic Pro 8 has a bug which keeps it from operating in Lion or Mt. Lion. Use the program Pacifist to install it.

i am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully, it just keeps my mac (old 1.6Ghz 2.5 GB sdram G5 still good for most stuff i need) spinning for ever but i can see compression type H.264 selected and the other setting but i can not select any other options as it still thinking but never opens! why is this happening how do i get round it?
my work flow is: 300 images shot on a 5d mark II medium jpegs opened in Light Room cropped to 16:9 then exported and opened in quick time i can save a .mov H264 giving me files sizes of 14 mb for a 16 second time lapse, mp4 9 mb. the only way i can get large files is saving as a self contained movie then i get 300mb files.
i need to save my files 1920 x 1080 photo jpeg codec as i want HD quality.
i am sure there is a simple way round this?

I bought a new MacBook Pro (Mac Os 10.8.4) when conecting my mobile broadband dongle (Huawei E122) the computer does not read it at all. I do not have problems when connecting it to my former computer (PC) and a Mac from last year. Any suggestions?

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

J'ai un gros problème avec mon Mac Book Pro depuis que je suis passé à 10.8. L'ordi s'éteint tout seul, plusieurs fois par jour, il redémarre seul en fait, je dois réécrire mon mdp, ensuite je retrouve le bureau et les docs quasiment où j'en été resté... J'ai installé Mavevixs et le problème reste le même... C'est assez embêtant à la longue...

Il faut formatter le HDD comme "mac OS Extended (journalled)" avec le logiciel "Disk Utility".
Après je propose de mettre le Librarie de iTunes sur le HDD, et aussi autre Libraries (iPhoto, Lightroom, Calibre, Virtual machines, etc).
Laissez OSX et les Logiciels sur le SSD.
N'oubliez pas de faire des backups sur un disk externe !, aussi pour TM.

Connecting your MacBook Pro and your MacBook Air will be the fastest way, but you have to spend money on cables and adapters (also, your MacBook Pro doesn't support Thunderbolt).
As you have a Time Capsule, one thing you can do is to start your MacBook Pro and make a Time Machine backup. Then, turn on your MacBook Air and set it up. Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from the Time Capsule and be patient. This can take a lot of time if you have to migrate a lot of files -

que ma pagination a conservé les attributs d'une page pair (numérotation à gauche) alors qu'elle est passée impaire.
J'aurai considéré comme normal que mon ancienne p.28 se soit déplacée en page impaire avec le bloc texte bien placé ET avec les attributs de page (liés au gabarit, tels que pagination, filets, bas de page roulants) modifiés automatiquement. Or il n'en est rien.
Tu me demandais des éclaircissements par rapport à "J'importe mes gabarits dans le document au fur et à mesure de la construction du livre et je libère les éléments de gabarit afin de pouvoir couler le texte et disposer l'icono. Lorsque c'est fait, je ne retourne pas dans le mode page d'InDesign. J'attaque la page suivante." Voici, plus en détails ce que je fais au moment où je monte une nouvelle page. Mes gabarits ont été préparé en amont.
J'ajoute une page au document (ex : une page de texte)

Audigy 2 ZS Platnum Pro Multitrack recording probl
I hope I am in the right forum. This one looks pretty close.
I have the Audigy 2ZS Platnum Pro in a brand new Compaq Prisario w/AMD (64) CPU running Windows XP w/52 megs of RAM. I bought this card new a couple of years ago and got frustrated trying to learn to multitrack with it. I recently installed the card in the above mentioned computer and went back to trying to learn to use this device. When setting the driver in Cubasis VST 4.0 I used the driver that came with my Audigy card like the instructions say to do but it caused my "sample rate" to be set to 9600khz. The instructions say to run at 44.khz to avoid problems but that is not an option with the Audigy driver. I tried several different recordings before I tried a full song. Things were going fairly well till I used the Audigy Pro driver, I started recording and my computer went wako on me then reset to the command prompt and began rebooting but it was like it was in some strange loop or something. It was hard to get it turned off and then reboot the computer. This happened a couple of times. I quit trying to use the Audigy driver and and tried all the other drivers listed in the audio setup program. I actually got a nice recording with my midi piano and a vocal track somewhere in all that crap. I ran into problems when mixing down though. All that came out was the vocal. Like the midi tract wasn't even there. I followed the tutorial word for word but things just didn't work out. I'm still trying to figure that oue out. Since the mix down went wrong I am having what I think is called "fall out". When I record my piano (midi) the play back sounds like I was playing irratic. Like I had hicups or something. And that is before even adding any other instruments. I tried all I know to do with my limited knowledge of recording software and ended up doing a "recovery" of the oporating sustem in hope of setting whatever went wrong back to factory settings. That didn't help. I upgraded from the factory 52 megs ram to gig, that hasn't helped. I am starting to loose my temper and that is not a good thing. Too much expensice stuff in my room. I think, it's best if you use Creative bundled ASIO drivers @ 6-bit/48kHz 'resolution' (even your card perhaps supports 24-bit/96kHz w/ ASIO -> is the Cubases capable for this).
Depending on your CPU performance, you should keep the ASIO I/O latency setting under 0ms when recording/monitoring.
Also, remember set your 'project' to same resolution the driver is set to.
When you're recording external sources (through line/mic/etc. ports), use AnalogMix/Line-In n for line source(s) and microphone for microphone recordings (recording/input source selection).
You mentioned reading some tutorial .. was it the same bundled w/ Audigy? If not then, check this thread for more information -

Apple tv communties said the Apple tv cannot do this, but maybe another type device can?My thunderbolt port stopped working on my late 2011 MacBook Pro rendering my external monitor useless--or so I thought.
Mac Genius suggested using the Apple TV via AirPlay Display as a $100 solution. Took me all of 6 minutes to figure this out as there are no directions in the Apple TV box supporting this. But, it does work and I am now back in business.
PS. Don't set up with bluetooth--seems logical but you want to use AirPlay Display under Settings > Displays.
Also, I originally thought my external monitor stopped working because I upgraded the OS. This time, it was definitely a hardware issue and not software. It also fixed a known sound issue my monitor had with Macs. First time in my 15 years I've ever had a ViewSonic have issues with an Apple product, too. Thanfully, it is now fixed.

Hi David. I don't have as modern a Macbook Pro as you, mine is a 2012 model, but perhaps I can help. I often find that my SD card will not load when I first insert it. I have to remove it and then put it into the slot again firmly.
You also haven't posted any information about the SD card. What size is it, do you know how it is formatted, has it worked in that same mac previously, where did it come from, does it currently work in another device (such as your camera)? This sort of information will help to narrow down the problem.
If you post some more information I'm sure people will try to help you. In the meantime, if you look at your post again you should see "More Like This" at the bottom of the page and you may find an answer in some of those related posts.
