Login error in creating new module

I am trying to create a new module to deploy my source objects. The Design repository is on a window client and the Runtime repository is on a UNIX server.
On step 3 of the wizard for creating a data source(New module Wizard) my connection info for the DB link is the following: the name of the user owning the schema where my source tables are located, the name of the host server and the name of the SID as service name. This db is on the UNIX server.
When I enter that user name and password I get a ORA-12514 TNS: no listener error message.
I have triple check all my TNS and listener files on the server and they are all working properly.
Am I using the proper user login for creating a new module. What user login I should be using??
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

AK,
OWB supports two ways of connecting to databases: SQL*Net Connect String or Host Name, you see these choices as a radio button list when creating DB link. SQL*Net Connect String relies on local tnsnames.ora and is more prone to error. We recommend using Host Name connection, where you specify host, port and service name, which is what you are trying to do. Test your connection outside of OWB by typing in your command prompt on the client machine:
sqlplus user/pw@host:port/db_service

SBO0001 error DBD:ORA12154 error while creating new connection

Dear All,
I have installed XIR3 on a windows 64 bit with oracle 10g R2 client.
The CMS is up and running and I am able to connect to the infoview and view the lsit of all the migrated objects from BOXIR2.
But, when I am trying to create a new connection for the universe or trying to execute the existing reports i am getting the following error.
(i.e I guess BO is unable to connect to DB)
*SBO0001 error DBD:ORA12154 error while creating new connection
I tried various solution from BOB but still could not solve this. Please anyone suggest few tips regarding this case
Business objects: CMS is running and able to connect to infoview and able to log on to CMC
Database client: Able to log on to DB using sqlplus and tnsping is working.
the details of the software are as follows
*BO Server configuration
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit
Business Objects XI R3 3.0
Oracle client 10gR2 32 bit
*Database server configuration

PDF Error while creating New PCR

i am getting belolw error while creating new PCR, it suppose to open PDF but with out opening it is giveing following error.

It seems your Adobe configuration is not correct. Please use SAP note 944221 for troubleshooting.

MSS Error in creating new requisition request

I am getting a error when I try to create a new requisition request .
I had looked in to the below mentioned thread but i am not clear what I need to do ?

I am also getting the error saying "Hiring manager Personnel number is required " when I try to create a new requisition request for hiring process?
According to the above mentioned thread I had created a Position and assigned a personnel number to that position. I am not sure what is mean by :
You have to maintain the one more manager position (i mean requister line manager) and give the proper reporting relationship and ren the program RCF_CREATE_USER, it automatically creates the CP relationship.
What the report "RCF_CREATE_USER" will do??

I have an error when creating new folders, it renames the folder below it to the same name (super - next folder - parent's next sibling...)

if I try to add a new folder to a sub folder, the program does add the new bookmark folder, but it also renames the next folder in line in the parent of the original "subfolder" to the exact same name...
maybe I just need to reload the mozilla, maybe I was hacked and that is what they changed...
I also have a similar problem with microsoft explorer, every time I try to add a new folder it gives it a starting wierd name besides "New Folder"

Error while creating new release groups in PO release strategy

Hi All
I was creating a release procedure for PO and after completing steps, Create Characteristic and Create class & while creating new release grp with the class created i am not able to save it and the error message is (ME492) is" Only one release class should be used within the release groups for overall release...".
But i am able to create from an already existing CLASS and able to proceed further.( Note: I am using the training module and in the learning stage.)

"Error occurred while trying to access desktop: "portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop". The object does not exist or you are not authorized to access it. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator."
I never tried to create anything new inside the EP so i have encountered this as the 1st error ...
Can anyone help me?? or have encountered this prob as well? do u have any solutions to it??

The error seems to be due to the fact that your default desktop has been
corruptd or maybe deleted or this could be jst a permission isuue .
For restoring the desktop pls try this ,Access the Master rule collection ,
Try this url for the display rules.Login with admin and restore your desktop.

Assign the restored desktop to your user id.
Or this could be just a permission issue.
See the permission for default framework and defaultdesktop ,

We had a similar issue and found we had to create the database on another server & restore it. I think, but didn't get around to proving, that the issue occurs where the license service is running using trusted connections

Contact iTunes Store Support error when creating new apple ID

This is for a business. We currently have a combination of over 150 ipads and iphones and will be adding another 20+ per month.
I am currently setting a quantity of ipads up for employees and preconfiguring them with their own itunes account. In this batch, I was able to set up the first 7 with no problems. On number 8 I keep hitting a roadblock with the message "Contact iTunes Store Support to complete this transaction". when I try to Create the Apple ID. I have had this problem before when I hit a limit (although I don't know what that number of ID's was).
These accounts do not have a credit card associated with them. To create them I am going through the route of being in iTunes with no user logged in. I go to the App Store and search for iBooks. Then try to purchase it which pops up the login/create account screen. I go through the screens adding the email address, password, security questions on the first data page. Then add none for payment options and add the address. When I click Create Apple ID I get that error message in the upper right corner.
On all of these accounts I am creating them with the same security questions, address and phone number. These devices are all based out of the same office so the address and phone numbers will be the same. I keep the security questions the same as it would be a nightmare tracking all of the different variations for hundreds of accounts. The only thing different between them is the username/email and the password.
It would be really nice if Apple gave a way to create apple ID's for business purposes in bulk instead of creating them one at a time. I will be setting up 20 new ipads per month for at least the next year.

Looks like I may have found a work around solution to this problem. It appears that there is a flag or something on the computer that is not allowing me to create more ID's on that computer. As of this morning I was still unable to create any more ID's from that system.
I tried creating the same ID on another computer and was able to with no problems.
This does lead to a problem as I am setting up 20+ new ID's a month and typically work from one computer to do so.
I really wish that Apple provided a way for companies to create new Apple ID's in groups using a batch process instead of creating them one at a time. Or at least allowed you to create a new Apple ID with no credit card associated during the configuration process of the ipads.

I try to create oracle module. in the last step I made new location and click finish. I recieve following error :

Hi Shima,
This looks and smells like a database error. In order to post this transaction it must set a savepoint. However that seems to fail, so there is something wrong at the database level.
Can you do any inserts into tables on that database? Did anything happen on the DB, restores or something like that?
