Logshipping Out of Sync Issue

Hi,
Old Settings:
Primary Server : DB2
Secondary Server : DB3

Current Settings
Primary Server : DB3
Secondary Server : DB1
Issue is we keep getting alert from our monitoring system
Error: The Log shipping Secondary database DB3 has restore threshold of 120 Mins and is out of syc, No restore has been performed for 22222 mins, restore latency is 7 mins, chk alert log and log shipping monitor.
Any ideas on this issue, are the msdb log shipping tables not update?
Naveen| Press Yes if the post is useful.

Hi Naveen,
According to your description, the primary database is DB3 in your current settings. But the error message indicates that log shipping was still trying to restore data to DB3. Did you disable the log shipping copy and restore jobs on DB3 and enable the log
shipping backup job on DB3 in the recent switching. If not, this may be the reason why this error message is generated.
So please go to check the Log Shipping settings and ensure that the roles between primary and secondary Log Shipping Servers are appropriately and successfully changed.
For more information about How to Change Roles between Primary and Secondary Log Shipping Servers (SQL Server), please refer to the following article:

If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Anyone noticed Quicktime 7.4.5 causing out of sync issues for online vids?

Since 7.4.5 all Quicktime video clips I view online in Safari have audio out of sync with the video (by perhaps four frames). Anyone else seeing this?

I do not use Safari. However, I have no problems w/out of sync issues using the +latest versions+ of FF, Camino & Netscape.
Have you tried other browsers to rule out Safari as being the culprit rather than QT? Are you using the latest version of Safari?
What troubleshooting methods have you tried to resolve your issue? Need this info to avoid the +"been there done that"+ senareos.

  • A/V out-of-sync issue for FCP captures

I've read many of the out-of-sync posts on this board, most of which seem to indicate that the problem is usually caused by either dropped frames, bad timecode breaks, edit errors, or disunity between FCP capture and sequence settings, compared with audio sample rates for the underlying files.
My files, shot on my Panasonic AG-DVX100A in 24pa mode, result in perfect (except for the anamorphic screen size - see my next post!) Quicktime movie files, in perfect sync. It's only when I create clips from those files in FCP that the video and audio go out of sync. And the out-of-sync drifts; that is, the further you go in the clip, the more out of sync the sound and the video gets.
My camera is always set to the 24pa mode, which, by default, records only in the non-drop-frame mode, regardless of any other camera settings I may have selected. The audio settings in my camera (and in the resulting underlying QT files that are created when I capture in FCP) are 16-bit integer and 48.000 khz, as they are in both my FCP sequence presets and capture presets, so I don't think it's an issue of conflicting sample rates. My device control presets are for Firewire NTSC NDF (non dropped frame).
Given the above information, does anyone have any idea what else I might be doing wrong? I've already shot hundreds of hours of footage last year that worked fine. I don't know what I changed to cause this out-of-sync problem now, but I'm going bald tearing out my hair trying to figure it out.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The dvd recorder was in the loop when the sync issue showed up.  the dvd was in sync but the live stream, next in line, was out of sync.  I have returned to using the older machine with xp.  (the lap top is running vista)  The older machine is a desktop which requires more space on the production table and time to set up.

  • XMPSES file extension and Out of Sync issues

I captured a VHS tape to an AVI. If I watch this file using Windows Media player, the audio and video are in sync. I then imported the AVI into PE11 and created a video project. I selected the MPEG option for Computer under Publish+Share. I did not change any settings. The preset is NTSC DVD Standard. When the project was complete, I now have two files
    FILENAME.MPG
    FILENAME.MPG.XMPSES
Also, when I play the .MPG file using Windows Media player, the audio and video are out of sync. The audio is delayed by a couple seconds.
    I am using Windows 8.1
Does anyone know why PE11 creates the two files? Is this related to the sync issues?
    thanks,

    uberjaeger
That .xmpses is an informational file attributed to Adobe and described as a Premiere Elements DVD Marker File (has information about DVD marker project, chapters, titles and scenes). I can confirm its existance. I do not suspect that as the source of your out of sync audio in your Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG with NTSC DVD Standard export.
How did you capture the VHS tape to AVI and what type of AVI did put on the Premiere Elements 11 Timeline....DV AVI? If DV AVI, was it type 1 or type 2?
What were the properties of this import into Premiere Elements 11 - 720 x 480 4:3 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second or something else? What did you use for Add Media?
What was the project preset of this Premiere Elements 11 project? Did you set the project preset to NTSC DV Standard manually before the Add Media or did you let the program automatically set the project preset based on the first video drag to the project's Timeline? If the program took charge, what did it set? Please see Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio (even if grayed out).
If you take your Timeline directly to Publish+Share/Disc/DVD disc, does the DVD-VIDEO standard on DVD disc play back with out of sync audio?
By the way, do you have the VLC Player and does your mpg play back with audio out of sync there?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Out of Sync issue

Hi, I'm using Premiere Element 10.0 (Bullseye) and am downloading video for my wife from a Sony HVR-Z5E HDV 1080i camera via Fire wire in mpeg2 format, Audio at 48k etc.  When I watch the footage captured back, the sound track is out of sync...!!  I've been through the preferences and set everything as standard for HDV, PAL 1080i etc. but no joy.....What am I doing wrong?
I have spoken with video editors (who use other tools) and no-one understands the issue?
    Pointers / thoughts welcomed.
    Regards
    Steve

    Steve
    Let us do a recap
    Premiere Elements 10 Windows
You set the project preset for
    PAL
    HDV
    HDV 1080i25
When the workspace opens, you use Get Media/HDV Camcorder and the Capture Window opens. Do you see this Capture Window
I ask about this since you said
I can't find he check boxes you mention on the preferences or projects settings menu's...am i missing something?  I have "report dropped fames" and "use device control timecode" on the capture options in preferences.
If you have a red line over the Timeline content without edits, after you press the Enter key, does the red line turn green?
    Did you try this yet
For troubleshooting purposes, can you do the HDV data capture firewire into HDV Split to get .m2t split clips that you import into Premiere Elements 10 (Get Media/Files and Folders) and end up with these clips playing back in Premiere Elements 10 with in sync audio?

  • DMP-4310G Multicast video out of sync issues

    Hi!
Currently I have following problem with DMS:
I have couple of DMPs connected to the same L2 switch with the identical configuration (same startup url, same buffers config etc.) and a multicast streaming server which streams (by UDP multicast) some live video to the DMPs.
Video codec is h264 (1920p,high [email protected], bw 6000kbps,29,97fps).
The problem is that after some time (6-15 hours) the video on the screens become out of sync (i.e. screens show the same video but with some delay (1 to 5 sec) between the same frames on 2 different screens for example).
    DMM and DMPs - 5.2.2.
Can you advise me on that problem?

    Hi again
I actually think my problems is very much similar to this one:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2598909#2598909
Could it be related to H.264 and mainconecpt not doing things right?
When I try export the excact same project using Windows Media HDTV 720 - jsut setting the FPS to 50 instead of 25 it comes out nice. Looks a bit more blured to me, but might just adjust some parameters to get it right?
So i guess this issues with some periodic and ad hoc sync-issues is related to the H.264 mainconcept codec? Is there any other and better codecs for H.264 and how do one get them installed to use them inside PPro CS4?

  • Dynex WBRDVD1 audio out-of-sync issues

I'm running the Dynex WBRDVD1 via HDMI to my TV.   I'm running a separate SPDIF coax to my Yamaha receiver.   I'm getting a large audio-sync delay on Netflix and Youtube especially.   I have all post processing disabled (Direct on the receiver)    I dont have the sync issue when using HDMI audio on the TV.
I've adjusted the modes PCM vs Uncompressed and sample rates with no luck.   I imagine there is some sort of delay since HDMI is direct video to the TV-- then digital conversion via the SPDIF to the receiver... then converts it back...etc
Anybody else had this problem?   I read that some TV's have the ability to adjust the video delay when this happens..  I just have a Mitsubishi WD65C9 which is a DLP from a few years ago.  So I dont have such an option.

Does your tv have an optical audio output?  Hook both audio and video to your tv, then run the optical cable out of your tv to your receiver.  the problem is that the tv takes longer to decode the hdmi video that you receiver does the audio, so then they don't sync up.

  • Bizarre out of sync issue

This question is mixed FCP and DVDSP, so it's O/T on both forums, but here goes:
I have a 97 minute feature. Shot HDV. Edited ProRes. Exported via Compressor using MPEG 2 and Dolby. Using Mac Octo.
On the resulting DVDs the 2 pop is in sync, then it loses sync by about 3 frames for about 10 minutes, comes gradually back into sync and then, about 10 minutes before the end, creeps out of sync by about 3 or 4 frames again.
I have checked the original FCP timeline. Perfect sync all the way.
I have checked the Exported ProRes file in FCP timeline. Fine.
But when I pull it into DVDSP, it is out of sync when I look at it in the simulator and burns as described.
I have tried compressing sound and picture separately, but it doesn't make any difference.
    Can anyone advise me?
    Wacky, huh?
    Harry.

used to have a prob like this with older versions of compressor. The work around I used was to export the audio from fcp as an aiff then compress it to ac3 from the exported aiff. If compressor still gives you a wacky file use a another program to go to ac3, such as FFmpegX.

  • AppleTV streaming has out of sync audio - anyone else having same issue?

Ive noticed since last updates to appletv and itunes that any mp4 file imported to itunes have very slight out of sync issues, enouth to be very annoying.... is it just me? i stream wirelessly usinga  mac book pro and the latest appletv.

I've had this issue too. I found that if you hold down the select button (the big one in the middle) on the remote, you'll get a menu at the top of which is an "audio" button. If you navigate to it and select it, you'll probably see that "english surround" is selected. go down to just "english" and select that. This should take care of the problem, it does for me!
    Hope this helps!!

  • Quicktime Export causing Out of Sync Audio?

I'm trying to export a self contained Quicktime movie from my timeline, and every time I try, the audio ends up being out of sync. What am I doing wrong?
The audio is set to just the defaults, 16 bit, 48khz.
    Sequence settings: HDV1080p30
When I bring the final exported movie back into FCP, it plays out of sync.
Exporting through the Share feature to bluRay resulted in perfect sync audio, so I'm at a loss as to why this isn't working.
    Please help!

Allright, since nobody out there seems to have the answer - I'm going to share what I discovered so that the next person will actually get an answer without having to spend hours and hours finding it in other forums. Here goes:
Problem: Audio plays in sync on the timeline, an export from the timeline through Share to bluRay results in correctly synced audio; but a Quicktime Export with current settings results in a final movie where audio is out of sync with the video.
Solutions: I found two solutions to this problem:
1- When exporting to Quicktime Movie, check "recompress all frames". This solution had mixed reviews, with lots of people saying you should never do this, as it will reduce the quality of your final output; while others said the reduction in quality was not noticeable to the naked eye. I guess you can try it and be the judge.
2- In your sequence settings, change the compression setting to Apple Pro Res. This is the setting I decided to go with, as I'm currently awaiting the 10 hour render.
I did do a quick and dirty test on the ProRes option, where it appeared to work. Since the audio is correctly synced in the beginning of the video and then slowly falls out of sync (obviously the 30p to 29.97 problem), I had to run a test using my entire sequence. If you run a test on a 2 minute sequence, it will appear to be correct, because it is a slow falling out of sync issue - the problems occur later in your project (just fyi). Here is what I did (in case you want to try it on your project):
I created a new sequence and then changed the compression setting from HDV1080-30p to Apple Pro Res 422. I dragged my sequences into this sequence (so they were nested). I unlinked the audio and then selected about a 20 second area from about 3/4 of the way through the project. I sliced this section and then removed all the video before and after (so it would speed up render time and only render black, but I would still be able to see if the audio synced up later - I hope that makes sense - this made my export time only 12 minutes). After it exported, I reimported the movie, found the little 20 second area, and it was correctly synced. So, now I am exporting the whole thing. I sincerely hope this works. I don't have lots of 10 hour blocks just lyin' around!
Since my audio issue was most likely due to the fact that I captured and edited in 1080 30p, I believe it must be a bug in FCP that exports the Quicktime movie in 29.97 regardless of whatever your sequence settings are (believe me, I tried to change it to 1080-30p and it didn't work). That is why I think the Apple Pro Res option works, but it involves a total re-render of your project. This is also why I believe it plays fine in the timeline, because my timeline was set to 30p. Again, I also believe that is why my export to BluRay through Share resulted in correctly synced audio - the bluRay export I believe uses the Pro Res codec (which, by the way, took 19 hours).
Wish Apple would fix this bug.

  • Audio and video out of sync when using quicktime conversion

    hello,
i am editing a hdv project and want to export to quicktime. the client needs it in a specific size (700x394). they do not want the video in the file compressed, just the size of image. they are compressing the video through flash for the web. anyways, i used to just use quicktime conversion, custom size and use 700x394, but now when i do that the audio and video are sparadically out of sync in the product. the wierd thing is that the project plays fine in the timeline, but when i export the problem occours. i then, exported to a full res fcp movie and it is fine. then tired reexporting through qt pro to 700x394. when i did this their were no sync issues but the quality of the file was not so good, it look more pixely, certainly not as good as when i did it using quicktime conversion.
how can i export through fcp to get the 700x394 file? someone said 'use current settings' instead of using quicktime conversion? how do i do this? what do i need to do and what are my settings?
any help is appreciated. thanks a ton in advance.
    cheers,
    clay

What format are you converting the HDV to?
If it's animation, it is quite possible your computer can't pull the data rate. In this case it would be a processor / hard drive issue not an out of sync issue.

  • Multiclip sync issues - resolved???

Searching through the threads here I've seen a few different posts regarding the loss of sync in multiclips when moving media files around. Unfortunately all of the threads are locked and can't be posted to. None of them have been answered!
I've just run into a similar situation and am trying to find out if the recent update to FCP 6.0.3 has fixed this. My problem, which is 100% repeatable is as follows:
    Create a new project/sequence.
Capture 2 camera tapes from the event (1 w/ timecode, 1 via a analog to digital converter, ie no timecode)
Review each captured clip and insert markers where I want to use scenes.
Create subclips from each marker I want to use
Mark In Points in each subclip to use as sync points (clapper board in my case)
Select the corresponding subclips from Camera A and Camera B and Make Multiclip using In Points for sync.
    Place multiclip in timeline.
Play sequence and use keypad to insert camera changes.
    Save file.
At this point everything is fine. My sequence plays back with all of my angle changes.
Now if I quit FCP and use the finder to move one of the captured files to another hard drive everything goes to sh*t. When I reopen the project, FCP will ask me to reconnect to the offline media file. No problem; use the dialog box to locate the moved file and reconnect. Now when I go back to the sequence and play it, the 2 camera angles are completely out of sync with each other. I'm not talking a few frames, its usually several seconds at least.
I've done this several times, and it always happens. FCP absolutely cannot maintain multiclip sync info when a media file is moved.
Just as a point of further frustration, I know someone is going to respond that I should use the Media Manager to move media files around. This is also broken. That's how I originally discovered the problem. I went to create an archive of the whole project. My destination was an external hard drive. When opening up the newly created project, I saw the same out of sync multiclips. My guess is because the media files were now on a different hard drive.
Also, try to roundtrip a multiclip sequence to SoundTrackPro - totally hosed when it comes back into FCP. Same out of sync issues.
So something is definately problematic here. I'm still on 6.0.1 and can't risk updating while this project is in process. But I would like to know if this problem still exists in 6.0.3.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Chris-- I am having the same problem-My media went offline-- tried reconnecting and get this message stating that the attributes of the original clip have changed; mark in and out-- then when i reopen my sequence certain clips that are multicam have suddenly got different ins and outs-- have no idea what is causing this but here is some advice someone posted on another forum:
I do almost nothing but multi-cam editing, and have for the last 8 to 10 years, but the overwhelming majority of my work is with matched time-code cameras. I have worked with in-points on FCP and have not had these problems, but I don't do it that often, so I don't feel comfortable telling someone that he's not having the problems he is having.
Jasper - when making multi-clips with in-points are you using master clips or sub-clips? Also are you sure you haven't seperately used the same source clip and thereby changed the in-point reference? These would be the first 2 things i would test when trying to figure out why the multi-clips were not functioning. Also I will say the a sure way to get corrupted multi-clips is to use a clip that has time-code breaks within it - something that shouldn't happen, but that actually happens all to easily in FCP.
Finally I can offer this work around, change the AUX time-code on the clips and sync with them. FCP makes it incredibly easy to change the time-code on a captured clip, and that includes 2 optional AUX time code tracks that are available for each clip. Find a sync point on each of the clips that you want to use in a multi-clip, go to Modify / Time Code - check the AUX TC 1 box and enter a common time code in the window - I would recommend that this time code be a copy of the actual time code of your most important clip, but anything will do - and then when making a multi-clip choose to Sync with Aux 1. (just don't uncheck the box containing your source time-code or you'll loose it - leave both boxes checked) - this extra step does not take long and should alleviate your problems.
    hope this helps?!@

Hi we setup ISE in our lab. We have 2 PSN registered but one of the node is out of sync after I upgraded form 1.1 to 1.2

For out of sync issues, which most likely are due to time changes or NTP sync issues, you must correct the system time and perform a manual sync up through the UI.
For certificate expiry issues, you must install a valid certificate and perform a manual sync up through the UI.
For a node that has been down for more than six hours, you must restart the node, check for connectivity issues, and perform a manual sync up through the UI.

  • Audio out of sync after importing .MOV

Experiencing audio out-of-sync issues after importing a .mov clip into Premiere Pro.
The .mov clip causing the problem does not have a problem when played with quicktime or vlc: The audio matches the video perfectly.
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1 (4) on OSX 10.9.1

  • Video recorded directly into iMovie 11 is out of sync

I opened iMovie 11 on my brand new Lion MacBook Pro and recorded a video directly into the built in camera. As the video was recording I could see it starting to delay the video and image. As the video went on it continued to get further and further out of sync. Replaying the clips in iMovie showed that the out of sync issue was still present. But if I play the recorded clips through QuickTime the clips are in sync.
I continued to edit the piece hoping that it was just a preview issue. But after optimizing clips and exporting to Quicktime the out of sync issue is still there.
In summary - the raw clips are in sync in QuickTime. Anything viewed or output from iMovie 11 is out of sync.
I've been reading through the forums and tried some suggestions such as detaching the audio. This does not work. I "Optimized the Clip" (which was a direction in official Apple Support) and this did nothing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Exactly the same here. It starts fine for about a minute and a half, but then it slips and gets progressively worse.
It's making me really mad too, because I can no longer just turn on iSight and record. I have all the latest updates, in fact I just did the main system update today as well.
