Long Audio Delay

I'm running on Mac 10.7.3 using the latest free trial of Adobe Connect.
I'm experiencing very long audio delays (5 seconds or more) when in a meeting room. I've searched the forums and found this   Re: Long audio delay By jonturkle, posted Nov 20, 2008 by this doesn't seem to match my situation as I'm not in a hosted environment or behind any firewalls that would restrict ports. (Or at least I don't think anything like this should be going on)
Video streams fine, so it doesn't seem to be a bandwidth problem, just a lag with audio.
Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing this and how it can be fixed?
Thanks
James

By free trial of Adobe Connect, are you talking about Hosted Trial? or did you build a server?
If it's Hosted trial, then you are in a hosted environment.
In the upper right corner of your meeting, see the vertical green bar.  Click that - to see your connection /latency.
In the room, choose Meeting / Preferences.
Set your preferences for bandwidth to DSL/Cable
Then run the audio setup wizard.

  • Turn off the audio delay?

My question is pretty straightforward and simple.
Is there any way that I can turn off the ~2 seconds audio delay from the AirPort Express audio output?
    Thanks!

    Not really.
iTunes uses a QuickTime CODEC to convert audio files to Apple Lossless, and then, uses AirTunes to send them to the AX. In turn, the AX uses built-in software that converts the Apple Lossless to an Encoded Digital Audio format. From there, digital audio is sent to a optical transceiver to convert the electrical signal to an optical one before sending it to the innermost part of the audio port. For analog, the AX has a built-in DAC to convert the Encoded Digital Audio to Analog which is sent to the same audio port.
One operational glitch is the fact that, as the AX doesn't have a local clock circuit, when the incoming data is interrupted, as it is when you change songs in iTunes, there is no longer a digital output to feed the DAC, which loses lock as a result. This is typically "heard" as the delay you are experiencing.

  • How do I join multiple (short) audio clips into one single long audio clip in Premiere Pro CS5?

    Hello,
The question is in the title but I'm wondering how I can join multiple (short) audio clips into one single long audio clip in PP CS5.5.  I put all my short clips right next to each other and selected all of them to see what options are available by right clicking and using the toolbar options at the top.  The closest that I got was to nest the sequence, but that's not what I really want.
I'd like to merge all the short clips into one single (long) audio file to use under the video.
Thoughts are welcome and  greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Melvin

O.K. This is kind of fundamental and you will need to learn up on this fully ...but for now...
Make sure you have the WAB ( work area bar )covering the length of the audio clips. ( You do not need to select them)
Go to the File Menu> Export Media
You will be given all the Export Options.  Choose Wave File
Select option for Export Work Area.
Choose where to export the file to ( HD location)
    follow your nose from there....

BTW - Why are you taking the audio to Audition anyway? What are you going to do to it.

  • Audio/video out of sync (audio delay) with PowerBeats wireless earphones.

I am having a problem with audio/video sync between my  PowerBeats Wireless earphones with my MacPro and MacBookPro. I have tried pairing, playing the video, pausing the video, turning off the PowerBeats, tuning the PowerBeats on, then starting the video playback again. I have the same audio delay so this not working for me. Anyone have an update as to how to fix this audio/video sync problem?

I am playing MPEG-4 movie files. I did open MPlayerX from my dock, then pulled down File to select Open which then did show the folder where these movie files are stored.  Then I was able to select a movie file, open it, and use "Decrease Audio Delay" to closely sync the audio with the video. I say closely because it is not perfect. Rather than stepping each increase or decrease in one tenth of a second, perhaps a finer adjustment would have been in milliseconds. This is the adjustment that I have with my AVR to sync the audio with the video, so I know this is a possible increment adjustment. The perfect adjustment was in between -0.4 and -0.5 second, however, this was not possible in one tenth second adjustments. The closest adjustment was with -0.4 second rather than with -0.5 second. So, adjustments in milliseconds could have been very near a perfect sync. Perhaps later versions of MPlayer will offer the adjustment selection in milliseconds. Nevertheless, this is working much, much better than before. Thank you so much. I have spent most of this day researching this problem and you have come up with by far the best solution. This problem goes all the way back to 2010 and possibly beyond for Apple products. There are hundreds of reports documenting out of sync audio/video issues with no solution that works as well as MPlayerX. Even the Beats support staff have no idea of how to resolve the audio/video out of sync.

  • Extremely long print delay - Mac

I am experiencing very long print delays or, in one case so far, an error message.
I downloaded Adobe Reader for Macintosh 11.0.02.  I have a Mac Mini with OS X 10.8.2.  The Mac Mini has USB 3.0.  My printer is a Brother MFC-8440 local printer, USB 2.0.  The printer driver has been updated and is current.  The Mac and Brother printer are connected via USB.
I am able to print the PDF files as images but not as documents.  Most of the PDF files I have tried to print as documents have done so but they take FOREVER to print.  For example, a 28 page PDF file might take the better part of an hour to print (that may be an exaggeration but not by much).
But on one PDF file that I tried to print I got some weird error message on the document that printed.  It says,
    ERROR NAME;
             ioerror
    COMMAND;
            flushfile
    OPERAND STACK;
            --filetype--
            --arraytype--
Strangely enough, I can see the document on-screen just fine.  But the only thing that printed on the sheet was that error message.
I am able to print documents from other applications such as Word without any issue.  So this seems to be isolated to printing PDF's.
I previously used Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows on my old PC (XP Pro, SP3, same printer) until I recently switched to the Mac.  I never had any issues with printing PDF's in a fairly quick manner with the PC.
I am only using Adobe Reader now.
My guess is that with the Mac there is probably some sort of bug in the processing software with the Brother printer.  The Brother printer has an LED that flashes as the data is being downloaded.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Does this mean the "data" goes from MBP wirelessly to AE then "upstream" to the Modem/router then back to AE then USB to printer?
No, the data should travel from the MBP wirelessly to the AEBS, and then, to the printer via the USB port on the AEBS. If; however, a network client is wired to the D-Link, then data would travel from the client to the D-Link, and then, by wire to the AEBS before it goes out the USB link to the printer.

Willy, the procdedure you describe works perfectly for AppleTV G1. In fact, I frequently play DTS music discs ripped to my iTunes library as Apple Lossless (ALAC) and synched to the ATV. What happens is that, as far as iTunes and the ATV are concerned, a conventional stereo 16/44 audio file is being played; however my reciever detects the DTS data stream, and instead of outputting static, it decodes the 5.1 channels correctly. This process parallels the way DTS discs were designed to be played back: a conventional CD player is connceted, via digital out, to a DTS-aware reciever/pre-amp and the two channels of static are recognized as 6 channels of DTS-encoded audio.
However this process will only work if the player (CD, ATV, PC, etc.) sends a "bit-perfect" 16 bit/44.1 khz data stream to the decoding device. In the case of ATV G2 and G3, as has been discussed elsewhere, the unit resmaples all audio - including 16/44 PCM (Redbook CD)  - to 16/48. While this is not a big deal for conventional audio CDs, MP3s, and AAC files, it mangles the fragile DTS datastream and renders it undecodable. The resulting static that you hear is just like the static you would hear if you played a DTS CD on a non-DTS capable system.
Sadly, I'm not aware of any easy way around this. You could use a program like Foobar (and the DTS plugin) to convert your DTS CDs to 6-ch .wav or .flac file. From there you could transcode the file to AC-3 and then mux it into a video container that ATV supports. You may need add a dummy video track, for iTunes/AppleTV to be ok with the file, though I'm not sure. This may be a lot of work.
Sorry for the bad news. I wish that the iTunes/ATV ecosystem had better multi-channel audio support.

  • 1-2 Second Audio Delay after installing windows 7

I installed windows 7 on monday but whenever i do anything that has audio it is always delayed by -2 seconds.
For example when playing Dragon Age Origins an npc's mouth moves then a second latter the audio finally comes.
When listening to music it isnot that noticable since it is just audio but when i pause or stop it the audio continues for -2 seconds.
When watching videos on Hulu it is the same as games where the voice comes about -2 seconds after the person's mouth moves.
I have everything up to date via the auto updater and checked on here to verify the correct drivers are installed and they are indeed the latest.
Everything worked fine when i had vista but this issue may not be big to some but since i am a big very gamer this is a major problem and if not fixed soon i will remove the card and use the crappy onboard sound.
Any help fixin this issue would be greatly apreciated.
Edit: Forgot to mention that i use the creative sound blaster x-fi titanium card
Edit: I managed to fix it by deleteing EVERYTHING Creative and using ONLY the newest driver from the site, however doing this pretty much makes my card nothing more than a fancy onboard sound card since it doesn't have any of it's features.
The updater doesn't detect my card and when it does and i install anything from the list i get this audio delay issue.

  • Audio bug with WAV files: use mp3, not wav for syncing long audio files

    Just a tip:
I've noticed another audio bug in Presenter (including 7.05) but there is a workaround. I often export the audio as a single, long clip from pre-recorded lecture videos, and sync it with the powerpoint slides in Presenter. I've found it easiest to import the long audio file into the first slide, then sync using the Edit Audio window. I find that much easier to use than the Sync audio window.
However, If you use WAV format for the imported audio file, sometimes Presenter will simply refuse to play back anything beyond about 5 minutes into the timeline in the Edit Audio window. Nothing fixes it - restarting, re-importing, etc. However the problem goes away if you save the audio as mp3.

I would recommending posting your question in the Final Cut Pro forum.

  • No longer audio on .avi files when attempting to use Elements 9

I have compiled 20 years of videos from family videos and converted them to .avi files.  I now want to edit these files into other smaller videos to give to my children.  I have Premiere Elements 9.  When I get one of these files using PE9 there is no longer audio on them.
There is audio if I play them on Windows Media Player but no audio on Quicktime Player.
I can edit in Windows Movie Maker but not in PE9.
The Quicktime Player states the following:
Format: Motion JPEG Open DML, 640 x 480, millions
    Movie FPS 29.97
    Playing FPS 29.97
    Data Size 1.94 gb
    Data Rate 8.67 mbits/sec
    Normal Size 640 x 480 pixels
    Current Size 640 x 480 pixels
I have a Dell Inspiron 530, 4.0 gb RAM, 32- Bit Windows Vista system.  Plenty of Hard Drive availability.
I purchased PE9 because I thought it would be superior to Windows Movie Maker.  Very frustrated.

    Hi Bill,
The .avi file is a compilation of videos from multiple cameras from over the years.  There is no 1 camera.  That is why I am confused here.

What camera produced the MJPEG files, wrapped in the AVI container? The reason that I ask this, is because camera mfgrs. love to tweak CODEC's, and some take that tweaking to an extreme. If you have the utility disc, that came with the camera, it is probably best to install their particular version of the MJPEG CODEC. The Morgan, or the MainConcept might work OK, but having the exact version, from the camera mfgr. will get you as close, as is possible, and will save having to buy an MJPEG CODEC, that might not be perfect. Now, on that utility disc, one might have one of three possible choices: The MJPEG CODEC might be a separate installationThe MJPEG CODEC might install along with the camera's driverThe MJPEG CODEC might install with an included editing/cataloguing program (most common nowadays), and even if you do not use that utility, having the proper version of the MJPEG CODEC installed on the system, will get you as close, as is possible Good luck, and let us know if you have the utility disc for that camera. Hunt

  • My ipod touch (and iphone) won't play long audio files.

What happens, is it gets to 5 minutes or so, sometimes 10, then skips to the next track. And when I skip back to the track I was listening to it won't go past that point. Why would this be? Could it be the way I have my ipod set up or the audio track? (These are long audio tracks btw, 50mins-1hr long)
    Thanks

What is the source of the files? Do they play OK in iTunes on the computer?
    Try:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have a problem an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • Audio delay when call is answered, CUCM 8.0

I have a client who is reporting an audio delay when a call is made to an external number. Call setup is fine and ringing begins immediately after the last digit is dialed.  When the called party answers there's a 1 or 2 second delay before either party can hear each other.
Outbound calls are routed to a SIP trunk.  I am suspecting that an MTP is required but checking that off causes all calls to fail.
I then discovered that the only MTP defined in CUCM is the default and this is in a different device pool than the SIP trunk with the delay issue.
Before I got through a possilbe hardware purchase (router, dsps, etc.) for the site with the problem I was hoping someone could confirm that this may in fact be the issue.
    Thoughts?

Under older versions of CUCM, you can set that same parameter as a global Service Parameter for the CallManager process. You can try that. Newer versions pushed the setting down to the individual trunk level. Be aware the global setting will affect all calls on all SIP trunks, so test carefully after the change.

  • Audio Delay In Timeline

    Hello Everyone
It's me again still having audio problems. The next problem is there's a audio delay in the timeline, someone is speaking and I can see the video and audio not in sync.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thank yoy
    Sabrina

First, how are you viewing this? You need to view on an external NTSC monitor or TV at the very least. Viewing on your computer screen may not be accurate.
Is the delay consistent over time, or does audio drift further out of sync over time?
Do you see a red number at the top left of a clip, next to the clip name? If so, control-click on the red number and correct the sync there.
If no red number, it could be something else. What tape format? How was it captured?
