Just upgraded my MacBookPro to OSX Mountain Lion. Now unable to reinstall Capt.Installer driver for my Canon LBP3010 printer. Same Capt.Installer was used in previous OS.
Got message that the software was not obtained from Apple or trusted source.
Anyone can help solve this issue, do not wish to purcahse new printer, and Apple does not appear to be friendly to me

Apple is still friendly, only became more protective - for your very best. Right-click on the installer, then "Open", and then you get a window offering you the option to run it. That's a ML feature. Again, for your protection.
Independently, and as not only with Apple, a new OS X is sometimes different, and ML is that bit "pickier" with fully compatible software. So, even if your driver ran under Lion, it can be that it won't under ML. In that case please check Canon's website if they have a newer ML-compatible version, If not, also go and blame Canon. It's their responsibility to provide up-to-date drivers, not Apple's.
    Good luck.

  • I cannot download the driver for my Canon MP490 printer.

I have a desktop Mac with OS X 10.9.2 and a Canon MP490 printer.  The driver will not download and I have tried all the updates I can find on the Canon support site.  How do I download the driver?

Have you tried Software Update from your Apple  menu drop down menu?

  • Is it possible to change the driver for my canon multifunctional printer?

Hello guys! I've installed my Canon MP160 multifunctional printer to my airport express. I may print from my 4 PC's who is connected to the wireless network. This works great! But I've no scanner possibilities. I would really like to scan as well. Is it possible? Can someone help me, or do I have to connect the printer directly to the PC?
    Regards  PC-N

Hi, I have windows 7 and configured my Canon MP160 printer to my airport express. However, i'm unable to print any documents. The documents just wait in the printing queue. I also have a Mac from where i'm able to print over wifi. On my PC, i have installed MP Navigator 3.0 software. Are there any additional drivers i need to install to make the wireless printing to work?
    Thanks!

  • Looking for a good laser printer for OSX 10.6.8

I need a decent laser printer.  Using Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6.8.  I've given up trying to get the drivers to work on our office Xerox Workcentre 7328.  I keep getting the "OTC at end of life" error and I'm sick of trying to download drivers and try this and that.  All I need is to print text.  I will buy a separate scanner for scanning pictures (any recommendations on that as well?).  I have been seeing issues with Lion and with our Xerox troubles, I'm a little gun shy now.  I was considering the Brother Printer HL2230 I saw on Amazon.
Does anyone have other recommendations or experiences to share?  As far as the scanner goes, I'm looking for something for less than $100 if possible.  This would be mostly for scanning pictures to put into slide shows.  I found this one, also on Amazon:  Epson Perfection V300 Photo Scanner (B11B193081)
    Opinions?

If you want to avoid any trouble in the future with new versions of OS X then as Bob has suggested the best action is to get a laser printer that supports Postscript. Looking at the specs for that Brother, it is a GDI device, meaning that may have rely on Brother producing an updated driver if the current driver does not work on the new OS. Now if you are not likely to update when the new cat is released then you should be fine. And there is also a chance that the current drivers will work. But Postscript support does future proof your printer, although it will cost more than $80 which is very cheap. If you do get that Brother make sure you also get the high yield toner cartridge which is a separate purchase. The starter cartridges included with the printers generally have a quarter of the toner that a full cartridge has.
As for the scanner, I've read good reviews about that Epson so it looks like a winner.

  • Looking for suggestions on alternate printing services

I ordered my first two iPhoto books from Apple last month. Processing was quick and the physical quality was as advertised, however the photo print quality was lower than I had expected and I think the price is a little high overall.
I'm wondering what printers others have used successfully from iPhoto. I'd prefer to have it printed locally so I can work with the printer face-to-face, but online ordering is no problem (and more of what I'm expecting to get here). Since I can make a PDF of the completed book it should just be a matter of finding a print shop that'll make a book from PDF. Any suggestions, good or bad? Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you're looking for large sized prints I just got back a 20"x30" collage from Large Format Posters that I put together with Photoshop and OmniGraffle and it was outstanding in color and sharpness. They required the file to be converted to CMYK which told me they were using high end printers. I did the conversion on composite file and uploaded it to their site (77MB). I am extremely happy with it. They print from 11x 17 on up. That's the only experience with online printing I've had.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Looking for HP Photo template print v 1.12

I know HP updated this program, but I want the templates back that were in the 1.12 version! Will somebody share, please?!

I am also looking for a previous version of HP software. it was a free download. I last downloaded it in 2009 but due to malfunctioning computers, I lost the program. it is called HP photo template print. it allows the user to print images either as a full page print or use a variety of templates to insert images. the images do not have to be previously loaded to the computer but the program will accept the images from any device. If there is anyone, anyone at all who can help it will be greatly appreciated. The file name I have for it is HP Photo Template Print. ver 120.000.011 or something very similiar. I have contacted HP and no one seems to know what program I am referring too.
    PLEASE!!! help
    Thanks in Advance

  • Passport in Parallels will not look for my functioning wireless printer.

I think Parallels has done something to the program so it will not even look for the printer. It is stuck on "Pictures." Is it a Nuance problem or Parallels?

Let's make sure it can connect first.  Remove all security from the router so it has no password temporarily.  Now try to connect with no password.  If successful and verified, go back and add security on the router, WPA2-AES (Personal).   Now connect again with the printer with the new security and new password.
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos Thumbs Up to the right in the post.

    Hi,
Below are the FM that used to read the IDOC based on the IDOC Type:
    IDOC_TYPE_COMPLETE_READ
To get the segment details, you can use IDOC_COMPLETE_SEGMENT_READ.
If you want to get the data based on IDOC type check the table EDID4; All the IDOC values are present in SDATA field
    Hope this helps

  • Photoshop Elements 9 Printer Driver Problems with Canon MP600 printer

I'm having problems using my Canon MP600 printer with Photoshop Elements 9 with regard to the paper allocation. The MP600 has 2 paper trays and for some reason when using Elements it prefers you to use the top loading (auto sheet feeder)  method all the time.  For space reasons  I need to use the bottom cassette. When you initially go into the settings for the printer within elements you can choose the cassette and paper type etc no problem and make a print. When you go back in to do another print it changes the setting back to auto sheet feeder so you have to change it back again which is winding me up!  I have got the latest drivers for the printer and they are set up to how I would like the printer to work but Elements changes some of those settings for some reason. Does anyone know a way of fixing this please ?? When I'm not in Photoshop if I go to print something from the web it performs perfectly so I can only assume its Elements thats changing the settings.
Also when I print small thumbnail sized pictures on an A4 sheet of paper to test what the photo colour will look like when I go back into the print menu it puts the thumnail picture back in the center of the sheet of A4 rather than leaving it where it was, so then you have to put in the top and sideways measurements again to carry on ! The last version of Photoshop I had never did that. Does anyone know had to solve that problem ?? Any thoughts on the above problems would be gratefully recieved !

Thank you for your suggestions. I downloaded a more recent version of Twain, but this didn't help. I also tried closing and opening Photo Shop and restarting my computer without success. Reinstalling Photo Shop sounds like a very promising solution, but I'm  not sure I will do it. In the meantime I can scan items using a printer program. These scans open in Photo Shop. It is an extra step.

  • Looking for a Suprer Wide printer driver.

    Hi all,
I have to produce an ultra wide report that will be used as an extract (never actually printed).
The problem is that it will have about 80 fields and I need CR to accommodate this. The only way I can think to do this is by installing a super wide printer driver on my computer.
I can't seem to find one on line.
If anyone has, and is willing to share a printer driver for an HP Scitex, NUR Expedio or any other billboard sized printer I'd be indebted to you.
Failing that, if you know a way around CR's printer width limitation, I'd LOVE to know about it. I'm using CRXI R2.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    Thanks Ted,
Yea actually I do. I actually had the idea, after I submitted this post of course, to just use a free pdf printer instead.
I down loaded Cute PDF Writer and it's giving me a max of 108" (or 9 feet). I think that will do the trick.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Looking for a canon with the same features as SD1100IS. What are the next 3 models after SD1100?

Husband's canon SD1100 was stolen.  We're trying to replace it with another but 1100s are not available.  What are the next 3 or so models past the SD1100 that would have the comparable features, speed and ease of operation?

    Hi A-Mo,
I'm very sorry that your husband's PowerShot SD1100 IS was stolen!
The SD camera line has been replaced by the PowerShot ELPH lineup. These cameras are improved in a number of important ways, such as better zoom lenses, and sensitivity to light for existing light photography.
I recommend that you consider the PowerShot ELPH 310 HS. This camera has an 8x optical zoom lens (vs. 3x for the PowerShot SD1100 IS), has a higher ISO of 3200 (vs. 1600) for low light photography and shoots video in "full" high definition (1920 x 1080 resolution) (vs. 640 x 480).
Please note: none of the cameras in this group of cameras includes the optical viewfinder you had on the PowerShot SD1100 IS,
    I hope this is helpful.
