Looking for a labview virtual instrument program we can modify

Hi, I’m looking for a canned labview virtual instrument program we can modify for the OMB DAQ 55 from Omega to measure three temps and control three DO. I have the driver at:ftp://ftp.omega.com/public/DASGroup/products/OMB-DAQ5455&56/ The driver is labviewpdaq5xsetup.exe. I have the OMB DAQ 55 from http://www.omega.com/pptst/OMB-Daq55.html with a USB interface. I am trying to set it up to control a 24V electric valve. I’d like it to measure temperatures (5 separate temps), allow a set point to be programmed for three of them and turn on and off a DO based on the temperature. PID is not required yet. Maybe in the future… We have labview 7.1 and 8.0 but my colleague prefers 7.1 Do you have an labview VI programs that you can share that will do this with the DAQ 55? If you have something that will be close, we can modify it. But starting from scratch will likely mean we can not get this done in time for a project test. Simple set point and control is all I’m looking for… I’m new (my colleague knows it better than me, but has less time) to labview and do not have the resources to learn it from scratch to figure this out. Is there something you have I could modify? Can you help. Or are there canned programs you have that will do this? Labview is the preferred language. Thanks. Attached is what Omega shared with us, it might help…it’s a screen capture from a similar program, but far from the mark.

Hi vestel,
These discussion forums are more geared for questions - not necessarily having everyone else code for you.
You have a few options if you want code.
1) Look at the shipping examples that come with LabVIEW. This will give you a starting point from which to ask questions.
2) Look at the Instrument Driver Network that exits on National Instrument's Web site. Here are all the Omega instrument drivers listed.
3) Look at the list of Alliance members who you can pay to develop your code for you. Look here.
I hope this helps,
Kevin S.

• Looking for a third-party affiliate program that will integrate well with Adobe Business Catalyst.

Dear Adobe Community,
I am looking for a third-party Affiliate Program that will integrate well with the Adobe Business Catalyst platform.
The requirement is fairly basic, i.e., to track multiple affiliates and down-stream affiliate-to-affiliate referrals. Also looking to report and display these referrals an affiliate’s dashboard.
We have looked into Affiliate Program Software, Affiliate Tracking Software Marketing and would like to entertain other options before making a decision.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! —Thank You!
Kind Regards,

For what it is worth, I am a fan of NuGen, I have both SEQ 1 and 2 and two stereo enhancing tools (stereoizer and stereoplacer I think they're called). Since I have the SEQ 1 it replaces all Channel EQ's. And the stereotools sound great and very lush, in stead of the more usual cheezy combfilterthingies that pass for stereo enhancing tools.
And I actually like the interfaces. Simple, but stylish, functional and ergonomic (in this case meaning you can see all parameters in a quick glance, no guessing at settings).

• Small Company looking for a LabVIEW consultant (remote consultant welcome)

Hello,
We are a small company looking for a LabVIEW consultant. This is about a 3-6 month project. The consultant must be familiar with NI hardware product as well. Please send me your resume/CV. In your email please state the following: years of experience, educational background, your hourly requirements, your location, and the amount of time you will be able to provide.
Please removes spaces on the email below.
int e g r at e d devi c e s @ yah oo. c o m

I'm not sure if this is frequent on the NI forums, since I believe NI validates user information prior to issuing an account that allows them to post to the forum. But usernames (like mine) don't provide immediate identifications; you have to ask for it.
Apparently Job Scams have become more frequent. See the list of tips on the following site, (I have no relationship with this site. It just came up in a google search).

5 Steps to Take Before Applying for a Job
1. Email - the company to get information about the job. Do not provide any personal information to them upfront.
2. Phone - speak to an official at the company and ask about the job. Be assured that it is legitimate.
3. Meet - at the company site to assure it is a real company. If you cannot meet, and the company is in your town, drive by to see the facility, (possibly using google maps to view the site).
4. Verify - see if you can find a person who has worked at the company or call a Chamber of Commerce of Better Business Bureau to assure the legitimacy of the company. Search online for legitimate information about the company, search online for any complaints of non-legitimacy. State Entity sites typically have the name of the company and how long they have been in business.
5. Apply - once you are assured the company is legitimate, it is safe to apply; but you should still not supply highly personal information like bank accounts until you are officially hired.

Hi I'm looking for a thunderbolt extension cable so I can hook up my 27" LED THURDERBOLT APPLE DISPLAY SCREEN.

Extension cables for Thunderbolt don't yet exist, but Apple has recently released a Thunderbolt cable that is 2M or 6.5 feet long. I just connected my 27" Thunderbolt display to my iMac, which sit about 4-feet apart from each other, and it works perfectly. You just don't use the Thunderbolt connection cable that is attached to the display - plug the display's power cable in, and use the 6.5-foot Thunderbolt cable to connect the display to the computer.

long options = 0;
pVI = pLV->GetVIReference(viPath,password,resvForCall,options);
// Show front panel
pVI->FPWinOpen = TRUE;
// Call the referenced VI as subVI
_variant_t paramNames[5] = {"Amplitude", "Number of Steps", "Low Frequency", "High Frequency", "Response Graph"};
_variant_t paramVals[5] = {}; /* VT_EMPTY */
/* Fill ParamVals with values from VI */
for (int i = 0; i < 5; ++i) paramVals[i] = pVI->GetControlValue(paramNames[i].bstrVal);
/* Call VI -> !!! CRASH !!! :-( */
pVI->Call(paramNames,paramVals);

pLV->AutomaticC
lose = TRUE;
pVI.Release();
pLV.Release();

This may not be the easiest way. Although i have not used _variant_t. But it seems like your VARIANT type is VT_EMPTY for everything. You need to build up an array of variants with correct type, that matches the type of control you are assigning data to like VT_INT for int numeric, VT_BSTR for string control etc
VARIANT paramNamesVarArg, paramValuesVarArg;
SAFEARRAY *paramNames, *paramValues;
::VariantInit(&paramNamesVarArg);
paramNamesVarArg.vt = VT_ARRAY | VT_BYREF | VT_BSTR;
// create safearray of strings
SAFEARRAYBOUND rgsabound[1];
rgsabound[0].lLbound = 0;
rgsabound[0].cElements = 1;
paramNames = SafeArrayCreate(VT_BSTR, 1, rgsabound);
paramNamesVarArg.pparray = ¶mNames;
long index = 0;
_bstr_t paramName = "Numeric";
BSTR *bstrVal;
retVal = SafeArrayPtrOfIndex(paramNames, &index, (void **)&bstrVal);
*bstrVal = paramName.copy();
//do the same method for paramValuesVarArg
::VariantInit(&paramValuesVarArg);
paramValuesVarArg.vt = VT_ARRAY | VT_BYREF | VT_I4;
rgsabound[0].lLbound = 0;
rgsabound[0].cElements = 1;

• Looking for a graphical text popup program

I'm looking for a really specific type of program, and I don't really know where to start since I don't really know of a simple way to describe it and put into a search engine...
I want a program that will display a graphical popup on the screen with large text - something where I can type:
popup "test"
in the command line and a window or overlay will pop up showing "test" with a large font. The only thing I've seen that does this is Quicksilver for OS X: <http://www.oakinnovations.co.uk/blog/wp … arning.png>.
For clarification: I don't mean a fully automated desktop notification program, but if one of them can provide this feature, that would work.

skanky wrote:Also dunst and cat_osx I think it's called. I'll check it's package etc when I'm at my computer.
Right, it's called osd_cat, and it's available through xosd.
An image search will throw up a few screenshots.

• I'm looking for the best IDE to program in C#

I am an entry level programmer and I am looking for the best IDE to practice programming in C#. What are the best and easier IDEs to work with that work on a MacBook?
Also, any suggestions on sites, books, etc that could help me learn the language better?

• Looking for someone to make a program for my mobile phone

OK, I am looking for a programmer, who could make me a program for my mobile.
I have a sony ericsson w300i
The program needs to, when opened, change all bluetooth devices on the list, to always allow connections. So all the devices on that list are set to always allow and not always ask.
If this is not possible to do, please tell me, or if you could make this program for me, tell me too.
The program must be fast and silent. I need it to just work when opened, without a message coming up or anything, this will allow me to quickly and easily proceed with my business
The reason I need this program, is because I have I REALLY long list of devices, and it really does take a long time to change the settings to allow connection on all of them. (I need to allow connections for the specific programs I test and use, on my PC)
You can access the list (on sony ericsson) by going to: menu -> settings -> connectivity -> bluetooth -> my devices.
I might be willing to pay, if the program works well!

j2me can't mess around with the security that is built into the bluetooth protocol.
@OP
Bluetooth pairing cannot be overridden nor done programmatically. Ability to connect to another device would always depend on the owner of that device having maintained the BT address of your device in the list of known devices.
Bluetooth connection can be done through a program, but there is nothing to be gained from that unless the program needs the BT connection to transfer data between devices, as the connection is in use as long as the program holds on to it, and disconnected when the program exits (if not before).
