Looking for a site that shows problems with windows patches or updates...so I know what not to install.
Plenty of sites list and summarize individual patches, I want one that consolidates problems and complaints so I can better assess the risk. Currently I'm waiting to install patches several days and doing google searches. That works, but I'd rather find a place
that does it with expertise.
Which forums would be best to look for such problems.

Windows update helps to keep your PC safer—and your software current—by fetching the latest security and feature updates from Microsoft via the Internet.
Although there might be some problems when installing it, Windows update is not the one to blame.

I love the Smart Cover. It fits the way I work and I love the instant on/off and the always available screen protection. I wouldn't use my iPad without it.
I got a Cover Buddy for the back, because I wanted the back to be less slippery when I'm using the iPad in the classroom, teaching. I have a Built NY "hoody" slip on case with a hard internal shell that I use when I'm in the field and I can put the iPad with the Smart Cover and the Cover Buddy inside this . But for everyday use, the Smart Cover with the Cover Buddy is a terrific combination.

I was having problems with a preloader that I've been using
(modifying) for my Flash jobs... I decided to keep working on my
website anyway and get back to that later... But now it's just
annoying me and I'd really love to figure out how to get a
preloader to work with my site.
My site is not complete yet, and it's probably not built the
best way it should (my first full-flash website!.. plus I'm a

Looking for shelf system that will work with 5th gen 8g Nano?

I'm looking for a shelf stereo system with integrated iPod dock that will work with my 5th gen 8 gig Nano that I received as a gift. I've been researching this and have a found a few candidates such as the JVC UX-GN8 or UX-LP5, or the SONY CMT-BX20i. But... have been unable to confirm if they work with this new 5th generation model. Anyone have one of those units, or something similar, that works? Also, is it true that the Apple Cradle ($49.99+cable) has some problems docking the 5th generation Nano in the sense that all the features are not accessible (audio, video, etc.)? Thanks for any and all responses.

If their websites do not specifically state that their product works with the *iPod Nano 5th Generation _with video,*_ its more likely their product is not compatible. You can try calling them if possible to confirm.

Siri can't look for places in Cyprus and problem with remembering of siblings

I like to use Siri, but when I ask for a place or address, it answers "Sorry, I can't look for places in Cyprus" !
Is there anything that I can do so Siri work properly?
Also, when I tell Siri to remember a sibling, she always ask me who this is! for example, if I ask call my mother, she always asks "what is your mother's name?" I answer and she says "Do you want me to remember that ... is your mother?" and I say YES, so she answer "OK, I will remember that ... is your mother" Every day the same thing! Is there anything that I can do for this too?

I believe you are confusing an end product with an editor.
All the editors written in the Visual Studio Library will work (allow for the creation of programs and websites on a computer) on Windows 7. The real question is what are you creating for the end user? Which version of .Net does it target?
Visual Studio stopped becoming a .net version specific editor as of Visual Studio 2008, which at that time then allowed for different version of .net to be created, (.Net 2 and .Net 3, 3.5). Visual studio verison 2010 can create .Net 2, 3.5,
and 4. VS2012 can create all that 2010 can do and create .net 4.5x applications.
So a better question would be which version are you targeting for .Net?
Since Visual Studio is an editor, I recommend going with the latest one which can create programs to target .Net2 - .Net 4.5x. Try the latest Community edition
which has just been released and is free to use as long as you are not a large corporation.

Looking for HD camcorder that works well with FCP. I'm fed up!

I have the JVC GZ-HD7. This cam is a complete total nightmare. I have tried everything and the kitchen sink to get it to capture or to playback its files on my Mac Pro! It works on my PC but I want to use my Mac.
I have renamed the .TOD files to everything you can think of...and nothing.
I paid $20 to Apple and downloaded the mpeg2 update... and nothing.
I have tried capturing video with FCP and iMovie. You just see a Blue screen.
I have download the QuickTime update from Panasonic and it doesn't work either because it's outdated.
I have also tried other wild and crazy things. I GIVE UP. I'm not stupid, i've done my research and I'm about to post this cam on eBay.
I also herd that the new Panasonic HD cams are difficult to work with on Macs to?
So what are you guys using??? What is working for you? Does anything work?

But, months ago someone at the COW was having problems
playing .TOD files from his camera.
He put a sample to download on his iDIsk.
Bring the curious type I found the QuickTime TOD plugin
that comes on the software disk included with the camera.
I also found easy setups for FCP and the Everio cam.
**You can get an updater for your installed QuickTime Component for Everio
released last April here:

The aforementioned TOD clip then opens instantly in QuickTime player

I am looking for a timer that shows elapsed time since a particular date and time. Showing days, hours, minutes etc.

I would like to download an application for my desktop and maybe even my iphone that will tell me how many days, hours, minutes, etc have elapsed since a particular date.
For example, my brother just had a baby and I want to put that date and time into the app and then determine how long it has been since that date and time.
Hopefully this makes sense, because I have not been able to locate anything.

Looking for earphones/mic that actually work with Droid Charge?

New to Droid Charge and am finding out that finding a set of earphones with a microphone for answering calls is pretty difficult. Found quite a few that are supposed to work with the Charge, but after reading the reviews find that they don't in some way or another. Help!!!

I have the V-Moda Remix 4S. They list for $80, but got them at Costco for $50 - then they had them on sale for $30 last month- D'oh. They're very solid; the earbuds are metal instead of plastic, the cord is made out of nylon (I think) and has a Kevlar center - these are the toughest earbuds I've seen. The best/worst thing about it is the play button. On my Charge (like it does on an iPod/iPhone), it starts and stops calls, starts and stops music, skips to the next/previous song and enables shuffle - which I found surprising (I use Doubletwist as my music player). The down-side is that it's a little awkward to press - it's convex instead of concave. The microphone works as it should. They're probably worth the $80, but they're a steal at $30 if you can get them.

I have a Canon 5d mii camera and had purchased a Canon EF lens : 75-300mm : 4-5.6 IS USM many years ago for a Canon t90 and would like to get an extender (tc) for the DSLR and lens. I have looked at the compatibility charts for the Canon 2x and 1.4 tc but I do not see this particular lens listed. Can anyone suggest where to find out whether or not I can purchase a tc for this lens or not.. Thanks much ~mmstar

like Jgordon24 said, you cannot use Canon TC. But you can use third party one like ProOptics or Kenko. But your camera AF may not working.

Problems with Windows 8.1 Updates - Black Screen after login

Dear All,
I have a HP Pavilion g6 (SKU is D0Y12EA#ABU) and it's been running Windows 8.1 64bit without any trouble ... until recently.
On the last two occasions that I've done a Windows Update, something has caused the laptop to stop booting correctly. I get the logon screen but once I input the password, it gives me a black screen and a mouse cursor. I'm able to boot into Safe Mode and I've tried updating the Intel Graphics drivers but it doesn't help. The only recourse I end up having is to roll back to a Restore Point and prevent Windows Update from running.
Does anyone know if there is a specific update that is causing this? If so, can I get the KB number so that I can stop it from installing?

I have a DV7-7133nr to which I have modified to SSDs, 16 Gig of Ram and Windows 8.1. I too had the black screen of death for a long time and have read many forums, and nothing worked until my last attempt. I am an Intel Channel Member and Partner and a Microsoft Partner, and this has fixed the problem, but it only applies to boards running the Intel Graphics 4000 video.
1. Go to Hp's website and make sure you have the latest bios update. I did, so at boot up, I held the f10 and reset the bios to default settings, hit f10 and saved.
2. When booted into windows, I went to the Intel website, support, drivers, and searched for the Graphics 4000 driver. Their driver was later than Hp's so I downloaded it to my desktop. I then uninstalled the hp driver through the Device Manager and removed everything, and rebooted the computer. That gave me back the Microsoft basic video driver. I then installed the Intel driver I downloaded, and not only did it removethe Microsoft basic Driver, but it installed correctly and gave me a control panel for the driver.
3. Since then, about 2 weeks ago, I have not had a black screen since. The HP Driver is out of date for Windows 8.1, but this DV7 has been the best laptop I have ever owned.

i am lumia 720 user from india. i updated my phone software yesterday to windows 8.1 but after the istallation my start screen has turned black and white. i dont understand th reason for it as when i m setting my start background pic it is not showing any effect and the start acreen remains black. even the lock screen is blank. it seems as if the updation is not installed properly. pls help me out as i dont see any solutions to it. i am attaching some of the screen shots of my phone, pls pls pls help me someone.....................

Trouble with itunes upgrade I receive an error message problem with windows installer package

I am trying to upgrade itunes. I am running windows vista 64. Everytime I try to upgrade I get an error that says Problem with windows installer package. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

HI i have tried so many times to import images, both pictures and video from my hard drive to elements 131, and it keeps coming up with the error message " .....has stopped working we are looking for a solution to this problem etc " please help!

After taking days to upload elements 13 I am now having trouble even trying to import my images and videos into the program for editing.
