Looking for feedback for new monitoring and notification tool

Hi we just released our cross platform Cluster and Systems Management tool for OS X. It runs natively and can generate reports and send notifications on many different services and system data.
Please check it out. It should make any sysadmins life a lot easier: http://www.bixdata.com/

Hi Dore,
According to your description, I understand that you want to set Integrated Windows authentication(IWA) for internal client access, Forms-based authentication(FBA) for external client.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
As you mentioned, we can create another virtual directory and configure different authentication with different website. More details about
Configuring Multiple OWA/ECP Virtual Directories on Exchange 2010 Client Access Server, please refer to:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/01/17/configuring-multiple-owa-ecp-virtual-directories-on-exchange-2010-client-access-server.aspx
“Microsoft strongly recommends OWA and ECP virtual directories in the Default Web Site be configured for IWA, leaving the InternalURL as with the default (Server FQDN), making that site and virtual directory the target of proxy requests from other Active
Directory sites or delegated connections from the firewall.
Microsoft recommends creating the second OWA/ECP virtual directories in a new IIS web site with a different IP address, and using it for internal client access. By default the new virtual directories will be FBA-enabled, and have no internal or external
URL values.”

  • Monitoring and Alerting tools for Business Object Data Integrator

    Hi,
We have Business Objects DI installed in AIX 5.3 environment. Please advise any type of monitoring and alerting tools for DI.
Monitor tools to monitor Job servers(like job service and web services running properly) and also to monitor long running extraction jobs and alerting the same. Thanks.
    Thanks.
    Raj.

    Hi Thomas
Though both the tools objectives are for Data integration, the purpose for both tools are different.
SAP BODS/ BOBJ Data Integrator is an ETL tool which involves combining data residing in different sources and providing users with a unified view of the data
SAP PI is a Middleware/EAI tool which have a mechanism/technology that connects different parts of an application or a series of applications
    SAP BOBJ Data Integrator
    Bulk Data Integration
    Extraction Transformation and Loading
Deals of huge volume of data
    SAP PI
It is process based integration of application data
It is a middle ware which integrates various project applications into a common programming package that can be operate/access as a single application
SAP NetWeaver PI is SAP’s implementation of Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) middleware and facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies.
SAP PI uses SAP NetWeaver Application Server and message servers where in fail over cases the messages can be resent again.
The below differences will gives you more clarity
Verdict is we can use both the tools for data transfer/migration and for choosing the tool depends upon the business requirement
Please reply back if you need more information.

  • HT1483 My ipod needed repairing, so I backed up the data into restore file. My ipod was swapped for a totally new ipod and now I am having difficulty reloading the restored data that I saved. I keep getting the corrupt or not compatible MSG??? Any Ideas

My IPOD needed repairing, so I backed up my personal data into a restore file. In the end my ipod was exchanged for a brand new one and now I am having difficulty with restoring all of my data that I saved.
While trying to restore through iTunes I keep gettingthe corrupt or not compatible error message. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this issue?
    Much Appreciated for any help!

You can not restorea a backup made with a newer version of iOS to a phone with an older version of iOS.
1400 photos stored on the phone? Do you not EVER extract them? The camera roll is intended to be temporary storage. Like the SD card in a digital camera. You should be extracting them to your computer on a regular basis.
Contacts should be synced to a compatible contact manager or cloud service. If you were not doing any of these things, guard your backups with your life and make sure your computer is being backed up on a regular basis, because you won't be able to get them back until you get a new phone with at least the same version of iOS that your 4 had.
There are 3rd party applications that say they can extract this information from a backup file, but I don't have personal experience with them.

  • Wich one best for Audio Recording using cubase and pro tools? MBP md102 or MBP md103? i often using a lot of VST

wich one the best for Audio Recording using cubase and pro tools? MBP md102 or MBP md103? i often using a lot of VST too

Well, I've been trying this for a while. By my calculations, at this rate, installing all the applications one by one and trying to restore all the data manually will take me about six years. I would finished just in time for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The main problem is, I don't know where all the bodies are buried. Just one example, I'm using Cornerstone for an svn client. I have working copies of multiple repositories on my computer. I really don't want to set them all up again, and I can't figure out where the Cornerstone preferences and all settings are stored. I couldn't find them in the Library anywhere.
    And that's just one case.
I haven't done much with my MacBook Pro yet, I think in retrospect the easiest course of action is to reinstall OS X as though it were new MacBook Pro, start from scratch, and use my Time Machine backup with the migration assistant and go from there.
And that's what I'm doing right now. I'm in the middle of reinstalling OS X.
Afterwords I'll use a clean app uninstaller application to get rid of all the applications that I'm not using. And I'll just hack away at directories that I know I haven't looked at for years, with the confidence that I have a backup both in Time Machine and in CCC and also on my iMac. That's three backups.
I would rather start out "light", but I can see it's just going to take forever and a day to get it done. Anyway, fortunately nothing is carved in stone, and I can always try again if I want to. But dealing with all the documents and all the applications one by one separately was just obviously going to take too much time.
I'll report back on my results. And I appreciate your suggestion.

  • VoIP Monitoring and Management Tools

Does anyone have suggestion on VoIP monitoring and management tools for large enterprise voip infrastructure?
We are in the final phase of 8000 phone cut-over across 2 location (2clusters) and need some advice on choosing the right monitoring system.
I saw Qovia have Cisco approved monitoring tools.
Does anyone ever use this? any suggestions or advice?
    Thanks in advance
    Bonaldi Kresnanto

    Bonaldi,
Monitoring voice quality is just one aspect of ongoing operations. It is equally (if not more) important to have the ability to remotely troubleshoot end-user problems, manage configuration changes, and perform active testing on a regular basis before users are impacted.
In addition, whenever you make changes to your IPT system (e.g. CallManager upgrades/patches, IOS upgrades, power outages) you'll definitely want the ability to verify the system is still operating as design. Using the active tests you can do this easily and in an automated fashion.
ClarusIPC Operations is the only product that addresses these needs. It is also just as valuable during the deployment as ongoing operations to help you make changes and deploy new phones with the same product you day-to-day.
I'd like to talk to you more about the product and how it can be used in your environment.

  • Using AIA for Error Handling. Logging and Notification Services

    hi,
In our project we usie OSB and BPEL for integrating different applications.
There is a suggestion that we should use AIA to just use the Error Handling, Logging and Notification services from AIA. I am not sure about this use case, as most of these services mentioned can be replicated in BPEL. Except for the AIAAsyncExceptionHandling BPEL process, i guess all other functionalties provided by AIA can be easily developed in BPEL or OSB alone.
However, would like to hear from you guys about this particular use case. Is it advisable?

  • Images look too light on new monitor

    Hi,
I hope you can help me. I've been working in CS5.5 on two Dell desktops, using two Dell Ultrasharp monitors. The color was consistent on both. I created files on the newest of the two computers, viewing them on the Ultrasharp 2311 monitor. The files were used to produce both printed and digital books, and everything looked good. Note - I'm not a graphic designer. I never calibrated the monitors or made any adjustments to the settings, either in the system display or in PS.
I just retired the oldest computer and bought a new Dell computer, along with the Ultrasharp 2711 monitor, which has excellent reviews. The files that look fine on my two-year old computer/monitor are too washed out on the new monitor. Dell couldn't figure out the problem and sent me a new monitor, which didn't change anything. The technician at Adobe could see the problem and we played with the settings, but couldn't fix it. If I go to Proof Setup/Monitor RGB it gets closer, but it's still too light. I never made this adjustment on the older monitor.
I KNOW the files produced on the older monitor work, because I've seen the finished printed and digital books. Manipulating the file on the new system isn't the answer. There must be some setting that needs to be adjusted, but neither Dell nor Adobe can help me.
By the way, my older monitor looks fine connected to the new computer, so it's not a computer issue.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks so much,
    Chris

Thanks Peter & Sid. I appreciate the advice, but it doesn't match our experience over 12 years of designing web applications so I'm having trouble understanding what's different, can I ask for any more advice you might have?
If we calibrate the monitor using the recommended tools, will Photoshop images look 2-3 f-stops brighter (i.e. as they should look) and will images in all other apps (which look fine now, have always looked fine) look 2-3 f-stops too bright? Or would we be changing JUST the way Photoshop sees the images?
Through probably a dozen different previous CRT and LCD monitors, we've never calibrated anything. Even on our immediately-previous Samsung 213T monitor, images appear pretty much the same in Photoshop as they do in all other places. That includes published web sites viewed with several popular browsers and viewed on literally hundreds of different systems inside and outside of our office.
The previous monitor was being used with exactly the same software and hardware as the new one. The only thing that's changed is the monitor.
Peter asks about brightness or white point luminance. I haven't used any tool to determine that. The monitor is set to 50% brightness, for whatever that's worth, but I can tell you that it is substantially BRIGHTER on white than the previous monitor. The previous Samsung monitor is being run side-by-side with the new one, and it looks quite dull and yellow beside the new one (and we thought it was a great monitor!) The new 30" Samsung has MUCH whiter whites. Does that help even a little?
    Thanks for any further advice.

  • Assistance needed with new monitor and printing from LR3

I just purchased a new IPS monitor.  I have calibrated it using the HP Display assistant that came with it.  It is an HP ZR 22w.  I saved my calibration as a preset  - however - this is not appearing as a profile when I try to select it in the print module.  the checkbox for "include display profiles" is ticked.  If I allow the printer to manage - the pictures are much warmer than on the IPS display.  My printer is a canon mg6120 and I am running windows 7.  I would appreciate any assistance that anyone can provide.  Thank you

I think the "HP Display assistant" is a software tool, is that right?
Ideally with Lightroom, you should use a hardware calibration/profiling tool (Spyder, Eye One, Color Munki etc).  In particular, you need a monitor profile that contains colour space information.  I had a look through the HP Display Assistant user manual, and it appears the software does calibration but it probably doesn't put colour space info in the profile.  It'll be better than nothing, but a hardware tool is better.
    However:
I saved my calibration as a preset  - however - this is not appearing as a profile when I try to select it in the print module.  the checkbox for "include display profiles" is ticked.  If I allow the printer to manage - the pictures are much warmer than on the IPS display.  My printer is a canon mg6120 and I am running windows 7
This is not what you want to do!  The profile that the HP Display Assistant creates is for the monitor, and only for the monitor.  It gets the right white point and tone curve for the monitor.  What you need in the profile drop-down in LR print module is a printer profile, not a monitor profile (except on very special circumstances).
I'm not familiar with the MG6120, but when I googled "profiles for canon mg6120" I got a lot of hits, so I assume profiles are available.  It's quite likely that some came with the printer driver, and were installed with the printer software.  When you select "profile" in LR print module (you may well have to go to "Other..." to see them all) then there should be profiles for the printer - possible lots of them - one or more for each paper type.  If they're not there, see the Canon documentation (or google it) to find out how to load them.
If you can't find any profiles for the printer, then try using sRGB (or probably it's "sRGB IEC...").  Without colour management, your printer will probably expect sRGB images, so this should be roughly right, but a specific profile for the printer is better.  This is one of those very special circumstances when something other than a printer profile (and sRGB isn't a printer profile) may be better than nothing.

  • Colors displaying as dull yellowy-green; new monitor and calibration

Just got a new ASUS LCD monitor, and calibrated it with the Spyder 3 Express.
Now when I import a .CR2 file using Lightroom 3 to edit the RAW image, the color is displayed as yellowy-gray and dull.  It looks the same when I pull it into Elements 7, unless I remove all color management (which, if I save the image, actually then renders the image colors neon and oversaturated with lots of pink and red tones).  If I export the image from Lightroom 3 the image colors are correct and very different from how they look in Lightroom.
I also use the ACR editor with Elements 7 and I am having the same problem there.  Upon opening an edited Jpeg or a .CR2 RAW file there, the color is displayed as dull, grayish yellowy-green.
If I view the very same image in GIMP, Picasa or on the web, as long as the colorspace is intact (sRGB), the color is accurate.  Not so in Elements or Lightroom.
If you have experience with this problem is it the monitor, the calibration, or Elements and Lightroom?  I am beyond frustrated and need to see my colors properly.  I have not had this problem before.
    Thanks for your time.

I suggest re-reading C S S Simon's and my reply, including the links I provided with solutions and historical explanation – It is apparent you didn't!
Pay your money and make your display choice, but don't blame the wide gamut capable display because you are unwilling to learn how to use the technology advantages it provides!
    Please read this factoid:
All Wide Gamut Displays when properly setup to display in a "wide gamut" mode such as Adobe RGB will only display images correctly in color managed applications – PERIOD.
Your Asus display has two factory calibrated modes, Adobe RGB and sRGB, which will only work properly using the color profile provide to you on CD (or downloaded) by Asus – This the monitor profile Asus used when hardware calibrating your specific serial number monitor at the factory. The displays internal LUT contains that calibration information, and there is no way for you to recalibrate it using a Spyder 3 or other hardware calibrator. I am going to paste here three separate solution alternatives I made at the other post – Use only one (1):
Solution 1) Delete your i1 Display custom profile and install the Asus provided PA246Q driver and profile. Then use the monitor's "factory calibrated" Adobe RGB wide Gamut selector mode with Lightroom and other color-managed applications. When using non-color managed applications, switch your monitor’s mode selector to sRGB. Calibration using i1 Display or other hardware device cannot be used with this option. User hardware calibration should only be performed using the monitor's 'User Mode.'
Solution 2) In addition to your Asus PA246Q wide gamut monitor, install a second standard gamut sRGB monitor. Calibrate both monitors separately using your i1 Display unit, which will create separate profiles for each monitor. Use your Asus PA246Q wide gamut monitor only with Lightroom and other color managed applications. Use your second sRGB monitor for with both non-color or color managed applications. You may still have issues properly calibrating your Asus PA246Q monitor with its proper 'User Mode' selection as others have reported, but the results should be better than what you have now.

    http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1004&message=3908 1965&changemode=1
Solution 3) If none of the above works for you, get rid of the Asus PA246Q and buy a good standard "non-wide gamut sRGB display.

  • New monitor and now PSE7 is all messed up! screen shot

I purchased a new Dell 2209wa monitor. Finally got the colors looking right. Looked at some of the pros pictures, and color looks great. My pictures look fine on my blog(look the same as my prints), and I have an ancient Microsoft Digital Image editing program that the pictures look fine in too. But in PSE7 they look horrible! Way green and yellow. They didn't look like this before.

In step 5 of the instructions referenced by the tech note:
    a. What is the name of the display device shown?
    b. What are the profiles that are listed for that device?
    c. What happens when you select one of the profiles and cick Remove?  If there's an error, what is the precise message?
A screen shot of what you see would be great.
    Windows Vista
    Click Start
    Collapse this imageExpand this image
, and then type Color Management in the Start Search box.
    Click Color Management under Programs.
In the Color Management dialog box, click the Devices tab, and then click the display that is experiencing the problem. For example, click Display: Generic PnP Monitor.
Make sure that the Use my settings for this device check box is selected.
In the Profiles Associated with this Device list, remove all the profiles that are listed in the box. To remove a profile, select the profile, and then click Remove. When this process is complete, the box will be empty and all the defective profiles will have been removed.
    Click Close.
Note The default display profile association is now removed. The Windows Live Photo Gallery’s Viewer application will no longer use the defective profile and will now assume a display profile of sRGB when photos are displayed.

  • Connected new monitor and now outlook 2010 wont work properly

Hello, we just connected an new 2013 Asus monitor for my computer that's running Windows XP. Since doing so we cannot use OUTLOOK 2010. Everything else seems to work. Can anyone tell why its not working properly? We have a SSD drive running XP with an
external 2 tera bite hard drive where most programs and files reside. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE US.

    Hi,
Would you please detail the symptom of this issue? Is the issue that you click on the Outlook icon but it doesn't start, or there's an error message, or it crashes?
Since this happens after connecting to a new monitor, I recommend you upgrade the graphics card driver to the latest to check the result. In addition, official drivers are more recommended.

I got a new monitor recently and the websites won't fill up the screen. There are columns without any images or text on both sides of the screen with the webpage centered. It's not a problem with the computer because offline things look just fine. I can zoom in to where it fits, but really don't want to have to do that every time I go to a new site. Thanks
