Looking for Java Based Graphics & Animation Program

I'm having a bit of trouble finding a Java based program for graphics such as in games, pictures, etc. I already have Sun Java Studio Creator 2 which seems to be all about website graphics, and not what I'm looking for. Can anyone help me out?

• I am looking for Java-based technology for building nice looking Web apps

Hi everybody,
As written in subject - I would like to use some nice web technology, based on Java. I would like to build good-looking web pages. I have tried a bit of Dojo or JQuery (generally this is Ajax I think). Could someone point me what is the relation between Java application/technology and presentation layer of the application? For example, could I easily build nice Web application only with JSF? Or should I connect it with some Ajax-based library?
If Ajax is best solution - what are your favourite Ajax implementations?
What about other technologies: portlets, EJB? Thanks in advance for some info - even general.

I have tried a bit of Dojo or JQuery (generally this is Ajax I think). I think you need to start to learn the basics properly. I've summed up several links here: [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5404443].

JS/Ajax is entirely client side.
In JSF world there are several component libraries with builtin ajaxical (and skinnability -this also covers "nice looking" as you say) support, such as RichFaces and IceFaces. Give their homepage and demo's a look.
If Ajax is best solution - what are your favourite Ajax implementations?I myself have jQuery on #1.

• Looking for a third-party affiliate program that will integrate well with Adobe Business Catalyst.

Dear Adobe Community,
I am looking for a third-party Affiliate Program that will integrate well with the Adobe Business Catalyst platform.
The requirement is fairly basic, i.e.,  to track multiple affiliates and down-stream affiliate-to-affiliate referrals. Also looking to report and display these referrals an affiliate’s dashboard.
We have looked into Affiliate Program Software, Affiliate Tracking Software Marketing and would like to entertain other options before making a decision.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! —Thank You!

For what it is worth, I am a fan of NuGen, I have both SEQ 1 and 2 and two stereo enhancing tools (stereoizer and stereoplacer I think they're called). Since I have the SEQ 1 it replaces all Channel EQ's. And the stereotools sound great and very lush, in stead of the more usual cheezy combfilterthingies that pass for stereo enhancing tools.
And I actually like the interfaces. Simple, but stylish, functional and ergonomic (in this case meaning you can see all parameters in a quick glance, no guessing at settings).

• Newbie looking for maven-based web projects

I'm looking looking for maven-based web projects so I could learn how to orginize and configure code and configuration files respectively. Thx in advance.

Tones of good material exists at the Maven2 site:
http://maven.apache.org/
Another very good place where to find information:
http://www.sonatype.com/book/
To search for free jars (very useful)
http://www.mvnrepository.com/search.html
It is kind of difficult to start, but it worth the effort.
I cannot imagine to start a project without Maven + Continuum

• Looking for DOS based drivers for model ct4

i am looking for dos based dri'ves for model ct4730 for a DOS gaming machine that i am building.
any help would be great thanks.
emiual me direct at [email protected]][email protected] thanks in advance.. i cant wait to play rise of the triad and the original c+c

I looked for a driver at http://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/browse/ but was unable to find one for the Denver Instruments' Balance. National Instruments develops Instrument drivers based on demand and popularity. If it is a commercially available instrument, you can officially request one at:
http://zone.ni.com/idnet/other.htm
We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one in the future.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver, we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :
http://zone.ni.com/idnet/development.htm).
We also have a syndicate of third party vendors that specialize in National Instruments' produc
ts and services. Some of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would suggest contacting one of the Alliance members at:

• SMTP settings for java-based MTA

We use an Office 365 E1 account for sending and receiving email. My Server 2012 Standard file server runs a java-based backup program, Zmanda Cloud Backup, that sends an email upon completion of a backup or restore operation.
I looked up the SMTP settings for my account and saw that the SMTP server is smtp.office365.com, port 587, using TLS security, and - here I'm assuming - with authentication. However, when I use those settings with the backup program, I receive an error
"Test message could not be sent."
I don't think the issue is with the firewall appliance. I was able to telnet from the server to office365.com on port 25 and issue a ehlo command and receive a successful reply.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
Thanks.

• Looking for a labview virtual instrument program we can modify

Hi, I’m looking for a canned labview virtual instrument program we can modify for the OMB DAQ 55 from Omega to measure three temps and control three DO.  I have the driver at:ftp://ftp.omega.com/public/DASGroup/products/OMB-DAQ5455&56/ The driver is labviewpdaq5xsetup.exe. I have the OMB DAQ 55 from http://www.omega.com/pptst/OMB-Daq55.html  with a USB interface. I am trying to set it up to control a 24V electric valve. I’d like it to measure temperatures (5 separate temps), allow a set point to be programmed for three of them and turn on and off a DO based on the temperature. PID is not required yet. Maybe in the future… We have labview 7.1 and 8.0 but my colleague prefers 7.1  Do you have an labview VI programs that you can share that will do this with the DAQ 55? If you have something that will be close, we can modify it. But starting from scratch will likely mean we can not get this done in time for a project test. Simple set point and control is all I’m looking for… I’m new (my colleague knows it better than me, but has less time) to labview and do not have the resources to learn it from scratch to figure this out. Is there something you have I could modify? Can you help. Or are there canned programs you have that will do this? Labview is the preferred language. Thanks. Attached is what Omega shared with us, it might help…it’s a screen capture from a similar program, but far from the mark.

Hi vestel,
These discussion forums are more geared for questions - not necessarily having everyone else code for you.
You have a few options if you want code.
1) Look at the shipping examples that come with LabVIEW.  This will give you a starting point from which to ask questions.
2) Look at the Instrument Driver Network that exits on National Instrument's Web site.  Here are all the Omega instrument drivers listed.
3) Look at the list of Alliance members who you can pay to develop your code for you.  Look here.
I hope this helps,

• I'm looking for the best IDE to program in C#

I am an entry level programmer and I am looking for the best IDE to practice programming in C#. What are the best and easier IDEs to work with that work on a MacBook?
Also, any suggestions on sites, books, etc that could help me learn the language better?

A MacBook Pro running ML is the best lapstop computer for running Windows according to

• Looking for Win-based sound-editing software to work with AAC files

Hi, everyone.
I'm a part-time indoor-cycling instructor. I create iTunes playlists to fit a certain types of "rides," transfer the lists to my iPod, then hook the player to the club's stereo system. Very slick.
But not slick enough. There are some songs I don't want to play all the way through; I want to use only isolated segments of certain songs. And I want to employ crossfade. When cycling, it's important to keep the music coming; dead spots are energy killers. I want to stich in some stray bits of oddball audio, such as funny snippets of movie dialog and other nonsense, to keep the mood light. And I'm looking for a way to more precisely control track-to-track playback volume.
I know I can isolate a segment of a song file by using the "start time" and "stop time" adjustments on the "options" tab of a song file's "get info" settings within iTunes. But I want to do more than that. Sometimes I want to play :20 of a song at one part of the ride, and :40 of the same song later in the ride, and I don't want to have to make a renamed copy of the song file to make it happen.
I'm thinking what I need is sound-editing software. I want to create, say, a 60-minute playlist in iTunes, export copies (not the originals) of the songs in that playlist to the sound-editing platform, do my editing and create a single, 60-minute file that I can then load into iTunes and thus, transfer to my iPod. When I hook the 'pod up to the club's stereo, I would then play the single 60-minute "song" instead of the 60-minute playlist.
And of course, I want to do it really cheaply, on a PC running iTunes for Windows. How's that for a challenge?
If I had a Mac, I probably could use SoundStudio to do this, because it imports AAC files.
What I need is a Windows-based editing platform that can import AAC files. If you know of such an animal, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
If there is no such animal, here's what I think I'll have to do:
1. Pluck song files from my iTunes music folder
2. Create a CD containing mp3 copies of those songs
3. Send those mp3 copies into the editing software
4. Stitch the songs together in the editing software into a single file
5. Export that file as a single mp3 file
6. Have iTunes convert that mp3 file to mp4.
Right? Or wrong? If anyone has advice, I'm all ears.

The reason why I posted here was to hopefully find someone who has actually done this before rather than have someone throw packages at me that I can find on Google on my own.
There are a number of SMS gateways out there, but I have not used any of them. Setting up some of them is a very time consuming process and I was hoping to get a heads up on one that that some else had used in the Solaris 10 x86 environment within a zone.
I already have a working email version of this process which I put together very quickly, but using SMS would be a much better process for the techs out in the field.
I won't have the actual GSM Modem in hand until Monday or Tuesday and am doing some preliminary work so that I can hit the ground running when it shows up.
Thanks for your suggestions though.

• Looking for Java Image Format converter

hi,
I am looking for an open-source site or so, which has Java code on converting different Image types eg. gif/jpeg etc. to PNG. I am building an application which needs to display images. It would be great to have a tool which takes the image and converts it to the PNG format.
Can anyone help me out?
cheers :)
cleoppatra

hi cleo. there is no tool you can patch into your source. there are two posibilities that i know of.
1. take a look at the algorith for gif and jepg and chang it to png.
2. send the link to a server, which you have to program, as a servlet, which will get the html page just as the midp would do, have a normal converter jpg -> png or gif -> png, see if what type of image it is, choose the right converter and convert the pic. format the text the way you want and then send it to the mobile phone. this will make most of the work be much faster since the mobile phone is very slow, and wont be very evectif on converting stuff.
think about it.
