Lost all my purchased music

I have purchased 15-20 songs through iTunes on my iPod Touch. I connected my iPod to my computer last night to put on Sigur Ros's new album and to charge it. But when I turned it on this morning, all my purchased music had gone without trace, both from my iPod and from iTunes. All that remains are two songs that I bought last night (I bought them through the computer, not the iPod), and a random Single of the Week that I downloaded ages ago.
I still have all the receipts of all the songs I downloaded. Is there any way to get them back?

Try it, and also try Store menu > Check for Purchases.
If not, go to your Purchase History and report problems with the songs individually. You can also start here:

I downloaded itunes onto my new computer, i connected my iphone during the updating process itunes failed and i lost all my purchased music from my iphone and can no longer retrieve them. I would like to know how i can reinstate the lost music please.

When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Old laptop is broken, and iv now lost all my purchased music

i recently had to reinstall windows on ym laptop, and when i reinstalled itunes, i connected my iphone and had to resync my iphone to the now new itunes. as a result i lost all my downloaded (and paid for i might add) songs. how can i recover all my downloaded music which i have purchased over the last few years?!
    Thanks

Not to worry. Apple stores all iTunes purchased songs and more in iCloud. So in your iTunes:
    1) go the "preferences"
    2) under the "store" tab, check :  ' Music ', ' Apps ' , & ' Books '
    3) Make sure your the itunes account your are using is the same one you used to purchase all the items from iTunes
Now iTunes should automatically Redownlaod all ur purchased items

  • Lost all my purchased music after update!

I recently purchased the software update for my iPod touch, and have now lost all of my purchased music from my iTunes. How can I get it back?

Your music is normally stored in your iTunes library (which is how it was originally synced to your phone) and syncing with iTunes would transfer it back to your phone.  If it isn't in your iTunes library your only option is to re-import it and then sync it to your phone.  Music has never been included in the iPhone backup.  (When you restore an iCloud backup it merely redownloads your purchased music from the iTunes store.)
------But my music from ripped CDs and playlists are now missing from my  iTunes library on my commuter too after I upgraded/downloaded the latest iTunes version that was suggested. 11.0 I think? So if I don't have the CDs to rip again, the music is pretty much lost then huh?

  • I lost all my purchased music that i bought on my ipod touch, how do i get them back?

i lost all my music that i purchased from my ipod touch, how do i get them back?

You should have transferred them to your computer regularly and included them in your backup copy of your computer.
You buy one and only one download.  It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then you can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

  • Lost all my purchases music

My laptop was stolen but i had all my Itunes on an external hard drive. I bought a new laptop and had one of the geniuses help me move my music on to the new laptop. I don't seem to have any of the purchased music I bought. Any Ideas?????

I'm in Canada so it's the same here. It's due to licensing so we'll have to see how it comes together.
I always keep a backup of all my important data just in case.
    Good luck

  • I accidentally synced my iPhone with a different iTunes, now I lost all my purchased music. How do I get it back?

I had synced my phone onto a different iTunes account without thinking about it. I had purchased a few songs and episodes from the iTunes library and now I'm having a hard time recovering them. The new iTunes lets you purchase previously downloaded apps and books but I can't find anywhere to download my songs and tv shows. I have the list items in my previous purchases history but every time I go to download it again it asks to buy again. Is there anyway of getting them back for download or will I have to suck it up and pay again? I have an iPhone 3GS if that helps. Thanks for your time.

Not 100% sure, but I think even though it says "buy", it will recognize that you have already bought it and it won't charge you again.
Maybe someone here can confirm that that is indeed the case?

Now remove all your info and update the old AppleiD/iTunes account and use only that account.
You cannot transfer items between iTunes accounts.
You can redownload all the content.

  • Can I transfer music from my iPod touch that was originally burned from CD's or does it only transfer music purchased from Itunes?  My computer crashed and I lost all of my music?

My computer crashed and I lost all of my music.  I have music still on my Ipod touch but a lot of it was originally burned from CD's onto my computer.  Is there any way to transfer this music back to a new computer or will I need to re-burn each individual CD again to get this onto the new computer?

    - iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one fo those discussed here:
    Copy music

  • I changed my ID due to an email accessibility issue and I lost access to all my purchased music for the last few years.  Been browsing through the support area and it seems like everyone is saying I will have to rebuy everything.  Is this really true?

Apple has to be more user friendly than to let something like this happen, right?

Did you change the ID, or did you create a new Apple ID? If you had simply changed the ID then what I suggested above should work as the ID itself is the same (even though the name of the ID - the address - has changed).
However if you created a new ID, logged in with that, and purchased items on it, then you have two separate IDs each with purchased associated with them. You say that you can't log in to the original account with the 'alternate' email - have you tried logging in with the original email address? It doesn't matter if it doesn't actually work to receive mail, as far as logging in is concerned it's just a text string.

  • Ugraded to 4.0-lost all of the music I've purchased

Last night I just upgraded my ipod touch 3rd gen to 4.0. now I have lost all of the music that I have ever purchased. when I reach the itunes store through my ipod, it shows that I have once purchased these songs, but only asks if I want to purchase them again. how do I get back this music?

okay, well some how none of the music i have purchased is in my library or ipod, but it is showing that i have previously bought it. is there anyway to re download this music since I have previously paid for it under the same account? and also it is giving me an error report saying that it cannot restore my ipod

  • I have lost all my purchased movies and tv shows on my iTunes

Please help as i have lost all my purchases on my apple tv how do i recover these?

Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
If the above doesn't work, it is reported iTunes Support permitting a second download when asked nicely, but they are in no way obligated to do this. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'iTunes' in the first column; 'iTunes Store' in the second column; third column click 'Purchases, Billing & Redemption' and proceed from there.

  • I lost all my purchased songs when my hard drive.  Can I get another copy from Apple?

I lost all my purchased songs when my hard drive.  Can I get another copy from Apple?

Quite possibly, at least assuming you are based in the US. Install the latest build of iTunes, sign into the iTunes Store and click the Purchased entry in the Quck Links panel. Here in the UK I only get tabs fro Apps and Books but, if I understand correctly, you should also get a tab for Music. Click on the Not in My Library button and you should be able to download your purchases again.
