Lost messages on iPad 2 when creating new Apple ID on new iPhone and changed it on the iPad
We have got a new iPhone5, and when setting it up the first time, a new Apple ID was typed in, unaware the problemes it would cause.
We also changed the Apple ID on our iPad2, and lost all historic messages at iMessages.
Is it possible to have it restored without a backup?
We have tried to change back to the old Apple ID, but still have not been able to restore the messages.
To use iCloud your iPhones and your Macs should all be signed into the same account, what are you trying to achieve.?

I created a new apple id for my iphone and ipad which work great and allow me to access Icloud. on my macbook air I can't get it to use my new apple id for icloud. It keeps going back to my old apple id and doesn't afford me to alter it. I use system preferences-icloud and it just wants to verify the old apple id but doesn't afford me the opportunity to delete teh account or edit it like the iphone5 and ipad. Help?

If you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen, and if it is still turned on and connected to the internet with Find My iPad enabled, you can do this by going to icloud.com as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165.

Can I back up my iPhone 4S to my ipad 3 (64 gb)? I do not have a computer running Mountain Lion. Our desktop still runs Tiger, so I purchased the 3rd generation iPad with 64 gb thinking it had had plenty of room to backup my iPhone photos. I used a camera connection kit and transferred about 1100 old photos from my camera roll on my iPhone to my ipad. I then deleted pictures from my iPhone and now my camera roll has only 357 photos. However, in the Settings, under "About" it says I have 2147 photos. Why? I only have a total of 216 photos in all my albums. However, now I don't have enough space in iCloud to backup either device. Why not? Any help, any advice, appreciated please! I spent a long time on the phone with Apple today and they couldn't solve the problem.

iCloud only give so much space for free storage, then if you exceed the limit of 5gb you have to pay for additional storage. -
New Apple ID on Old iPhone and iPad
My wife and I have been using my Apple ID account for both of our iPhones and iPads - sharing books, music, etc. Now that Family is available, I would like to set her up with her own Apple ID. Do I reset her iOS devices then set them back up with her new Apple ID information? Can she use the same e-mail address as she used when using my Apple ID account?
Time to contact Apple support directly and have them assist you with resetting the password.

Hi everybody
Just have bought an ipad2 and i would like to manage several IDs on my computer (i.e keep my iPhone ID and create another one for the ipad to manage apps for my iPhone (4) and the apps for the iPad).
How can I resetup the iPad to create that new ID on itunes?

JpIf you have separate iTunes accounts for the two devices then you'll need to buy 2 copies of any app that you want on both device - you can't copy or move apps from one account to another (they are tied to the account that bought/downloaded them). If you want to reset the iPad then logout of the account on it (Settings > Store and tap the id on the right-hand side) and then Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings will reset it back to factory defaults.

In the past month, I have stopped being able to play youtube content to my apple TV from my iphone - I can only get audio to play, and no video. When I activate mirroring, the video quality is much worse than it ever was before. Additionally, there is no option to play any content from youtube to my apple tv from my macbook. What has changed?
The native Youtube app was removed in IOS 6. You would have had to download the official 3rd party app, which has not been enabled for airplay. This is up to the developer to do.
The only way to do stream Youtube content from laptop to Apple TV natively is through Airplay mirroring, which requires a recent (2011 or later) model running Mountain Lion. The alternative is going through software, Airparrot. -
Can I take video with the iPhone and edit it in the iPad?
I have an iPhone 4 and a iPad 2. On both devices I have iMovie. Many times I take video with the iPhone as it's more handy but it's harder to edit it on it.
I would like then to transfer the movie to the iPad to edit it using iMovie.Import the movie from your iPhone's Camera Roll with your computer followed by transferring the movie from your computer to your iPad via the iTunes sync process - selected under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes.

could you please get back to me as soon as possible , there is an update I have been anticipating for a about two months now and it is coming very soon.
This is a user to user forum; there is no one from Apple here to get back to you. Apps and music are forever associated with the Apple ID account they were purchased with. There is no way to transfer them to a different account. That is why Apple lets you change the email address associated with your account without having to get a new account. If you didn't do this, but instead got a completely new account, you are out of luck. You can still go back to the old account and just get a new email address for it.

Why is the message app popping up on my mac when everything has been disabled on my iphone and mac as per the instructions all over this forum, I use my phone for messages, not my mac. Is this a bug? I just want it off my mac forever!

How to reset your Apple ID password.
Go to iforgot.apple.com and type in your Apple ID, then click 'Next'.
Verify your date of birth, then click 'Next'.
