Lost project

Hey guys, lost a project that i really need in netbeans 6.7.1
Can anyone help?
i downloaded a file recovery program called recuva but there is thousands of files and cant see any necesarry ones

I know I'm locking the stable door after the horse has bolted here, but this is why keeping stuff in version control is a good idea, even at home, even for seemingly trivial stuff. Look into it as soon as you can. Subversion is good, and a handy skill to have on your CV anyway.
You might be able to retrieve the project files, you might not. But don't be too disheartened if you can't. You'll usually find code is easier to write the second time round. If you can't recover it, just sigh a bit and start again, I bet it's not too long before you've re-done much of your work, probably slightly better. And get some version control in place!

  • I lost project files, found them and lost them again...

How do you recover lost project files in Aperture?  I had them one day and they were gone the next day.

So when you looked in the library tab of the Inspector the projects and albums were not there or do you mean when you looked in a project the images weren't there?
What did the Best Buy associate to to recover what was lost? Knowning that would make this a lot easier.

  • IMovie crashed, lost project. How do you SAVE in iMovie? Where's the file?

Just spent 4-5 hours building a complicated movie from a year's worth of footage. At some point, iMovie crashed. I think I lost all those hours of creative decision making, since I cannot see the file when I reopen iMovie.
There is no "open" command in the file menu. There is no "save" command in the file menu.
This would imply that Apple was autosaving for me to save me trouble. Hmm. I can save in almost every program I use, and revert, and save versions.
How do you save a project in iMovie? I don't see save in the file menu, as has been the steadfast tradition of Apple applications since I purchased my first Mac in 1984. What in the blazes have you done with SAVE? It is so basic.
Along the same line, where is the project file located on my hard drive? I would like to open it. Since I assume you have been autosaving to somewhere, could you please let me know where my file is saved.
    <Edited by Host>

This just appeared to happen to me too.  I tried clicking on the file in Movies/iMovie Projects.  That didn't work.
Then, I made a copy of the  file in a safe place.  I noticed it was 2.2 MB, so something had to be in there.  Next, I started iMovie and clicked the Project Library arrow.  The project was listed there.  I opened it and got back most but not all of the work.  It lost a lot of my audio changes.  Here's the thing.  I worked until about midnight, and then left iMovie up and running til noon.  You would think it would have autosaved the changes by the time I came back.  I suggest making your own copy of the file now and then, just in case.

  • Lost Projects after FCP X crash

I have lost two projects after a crash of FCP X, both on different external drives.
FCP X begins going slow and then freezes and then closes, when I reopen it and try to find the project I was just working on, it is gone!  I have searched all over and cannot find it.  When I try to update events and projects (under file) it is not there.
Help!  This is about 8 hours of work lost.

This helped recover one of my missing projects from one of my external hard drives, but when I attempt the same process to recover a different project from a different external hard drive, this warning appears:
I did the exact same thing as with the other project/drive and for some reason this one is not working??

  • Lost Project in Final Cut Pro X

I lost my entire project in FCP X. I edited for a couple of days and was very irritated by not being able to save it (though I checked on the internet and as everybody is talking about it I trusted that FCP X would save automatically). When I restarted the computer and programme there was only my imported files left in the Event Library (with their very current names, strangely enough), but the entire timeline and project was empty.
I went to Movies- FCP X- Project and opened the current version, but it's the same. They are just empty frames and I can find nothing of what I edited.
I know that many complained about losing bits and pieces with FCP X, but I wonder if there is a solution for losing the entire project!
Also, I'm using a free trial version but read that there are no limitations so I don't think this is the reason. Please reply if you have any idea what could be going on! Thank you.

Get "Preference Manager" from Digital Rebellion, it's free, and use it to delete the FCP X preferences.
If that doens't fix it, move the FCP X application from the Applications folder to the trash and download it again.

  • Help! Lost project in iMovie 10.0.2

Working on project iMovie 10.0.2, "Quit" window popped up said start-up disk almost full. Lost entire project before I could "share" (save). Any way to recover? Re-started iMovie and tired to paste files into new project, but files are "empty."

I have the same problem. It says I have 7 projects but only displays 6. Happend after using Voice over recording.
All movie clips are still there, just not all my editing info.

  • Lost project from library

    Hi can anyone help me?
I went to open project from the library today and it is missing from the project library.
I have found the file in iMovie project folder but it will not open or drag and drop into iMovie to open
    Any advice welcome

    Hi
If You moved or altered any folder named
    • iMovie Event's - or -
    • iMovie Project's
    on DeskTop/Finder
Then connection back to iMovie most probably is broken - and this especially if material is moved to an external hard disk FORMATTED as UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - then the problem get's even worse and with a HIGH Risk of in a non mendable way.
All movings of Event's and Project's must
    • be done within the iMovie application
    • to a Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted hard disk
    else all can be lost.

  • There are restoring a lost project in Final Cut Pro x?

    Hello guys,
I have a problem with my FCPX project. Can anyone help me?
I searched some forums, but no one with a similar problem.
I was working on two projects (each in a different event) and the program was getting slow. So I created new folders within "Movies" in the finder: "Final Cut Events - Hidden" and "Final Cut Projects - Hidden", to put projects and events that were not being used and leave open only what was currently working.
I did this and for some time I managed to edit. When I returned to another project (putting it back into your source folder), the final cut did not open anymore. And is not opening any project.
Will I lost all the work of a month?
If I lost, I'm restoring the project?
    Thank you for your attention.
    Luana.

  • Can anyone help me find my lost project in iPhoto?

PLEASE can someone help me? I have lost my iPhoto library. I have tried searching by size with no luck. These are family photos and a year long project/book I have been working on. Back up did not work and I am desperate to find my photos and this major project. I would appreciate any help!

Your iphoto library by default is in your home/pictures folder, it is most likely simply called 'iphoto library', try a search by name and take a look in your trash.

  • Lost Projects and Photo's

From what I have read, I like many of you have lost all projects and images as soon as I did the upgrade. Being an old ****, I am having trouble trying to understand and retrieve all my files. Unsuccessful to-date, need help in layman's language.

Tell us more details, please, to see, if we can help.It is important to know the versions to see what might have happened.
as soon as I did the upgrade.
    What were your previous versions?
What MacOS X version did you upgrade from?
What Aperture version did you upgrade from? Are you now using Aperture 3.5.1?
Where is your Aperture version stored? On your internal drive or an external volume?
What happens, when you launch Aperture? Does Aperture not launch at all? Do you get an error message or simply see an apparently empty Aperture window?

  • IMovie Lost project after

First and foremost my MacBookPro Operates on OS X Version 10.9.4 ...
I was working on an iMovie for a really loooooong time and my computer got really hot and just froze up completely ... I tried letting it sit but eventually had no other choice then just manually powering it off. When I turned it back on it asked if I wanted to restore the programs I had running (which the only one that was running was iMovie) I clicked yes... when iMovie was reopened the event with all the footage and content was still there but the movie project was gone... I just about cried.
I looked on other Apple Forums for this and tried the process of locating the com.apple.iMovieApp.plist file in the Library but that didn't work...
Any solutions that will actually work would be AMAZING!

    Hi
    A. To get it back - Have no idea - Most probably not - As I see it there is more than one problem here if the project got lost e.g. moving of other folders as iMovie Event's and iMovie Projec's - CANT DO THAT on desktop as this results in broken links back to iMovie = most probably hard to impossibly to mend.
Moving Event's and Project's must be done WITHIN iMovie application AND ONLY TO Hard Disks (or ev. USB Memories) that are Mac OS Extended (hfs) Formatted ! UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange WILL NOT DO for Video (even if You use FinalCut - it doesn't work - must be Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted)
    B. There are no copies of any material in any iMovie Project's at all - the Project is just a short TEXT document describing What material that is used (Movie's, Photo's and Audio's) and where they are stored e.g. iPhoto Library, iTunes or in iMovie Event's. So if audio on an Audio-CD or USB-memory is used - the pointers in the Project points to this storage and if it is ejected - info is broken.
    I do first
    • create a folder named as my movie
    • in this I put my photos and audio files
    • then I use these files in my movie projects + video from Event's window.
THIS folder can not BE MOVED - so I put it from start in my User Account and here in Movie folder. But that's me.
All my photos are .jpg ONLY
All my audio is .aiff ONLY - NO .mp3 or other alient format - I use AudaCity (free on Internet) to convert all to .aiff 44.1kHz or 48kHz 16-bit.
    C. But why Your project disappeared - is strange - My guess is that iMovie pref. file got corrupted - If You made Force Quit or Panic Halt - this use to be a major reason to this.
I trash the pref files - AND
Run Repair Permissions - Disk Util tool
    to keep my Mac happy.

  • Lost projects after reinstallation

My computer got the software reinstalled, and I have lost everything - including the programme iPhoto and the projects and pictures in it.
Is there any way to recreate at least the iPhoto projects?
In addition: The books have been ordered once. Could they perhaps be saved from the order information or something? Or at least reordered?

My computer got the software reinstalled, and I have lost everything - including the programme iPhoto and the projects and pictures in it.
You have to restore the applications and your iPhoto Library from your most recent backup you made before the system was reinstalled.
If iPhoto has been bought from the AppStore, reinstall it from the "Purchased" tab of the AppStore. Make e sure, you are using the same AppleID you  used, when you bought it originally.
But to recover your photos you need to restore the iPhoto Library . If you use Time Machine, try this:
iPhoto '11: Restoring from Time Machine with iPhoto '11 (9.2 or later) and OS X Lion 10.7.2 (or later)

  • How do I retrieve lost projects from the trash?

Hi, I made a huge mistake this morning, and moved the wrong project to the trash.  How do I retrieve it? I did not empty the trash, i tried dragging it into fcp x, i drug it to the desktop then tried importing it and nothing is working. I also right clicked and selected "open with FCP" and it said you can only open files within final cut pro. I really need help
    The file type is ".fcpproject"

No, not the project file. When you delete a project from the project library and whole folder of material goes into the trash. The whole folder should be returned to its correct location in the Final Cut Projects folder when the application is closed.

  • Help with recovering lost project in iMovie '09

Thank you in advance for your help! I may have accidentally deleted a very important rcproject in my iMovie project folder. I've searched using Finder. I even downloaded Stellar Phoenix in hopes of finding the project. No luck so far. Is there any other tricks to find missing projects in iMovie '09?

Check to see if it is in the Trash ( at the far right of the dock). If it is, drag it back to the Movies/iMovie Projects folder.
Better yet, if you are running time machine, go back in time and bring a copy of the rcproject file back.
