Lost work on pages when computer crashed...any way to retrieve data

My granddaughter had spent three days on a written report on PAGES. She was doing other things on the computer, probably listening to music, which made her computer crash. When the computer was restarted we could not find her report. I need help! She is very upset! Can someone please make me a hero?

If the machine's linked to iCloud, the document could possibly have saved it itself to iCloud prior to the machine crashing, although I cannot guarantee this as I'm not entirely sure if Pages for Mac implements this feature, however on iOS devices it automatically saves whilst you work.
Head over to iCloud.com and sign in to see if there's anything there under the Pages app.

Isn't the content that was stored on the Nano still in your iTunes library? If so, simply resync it back over to your device as usual.
If it's no longer in iTunes, you'll need to either redownload the content from the iTunes or rerip this music into iTunes.

Only if you used PhotoStream then try getting them (photos only) from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

Hullo there-- I registered an account here because I had a question regarding Photoshop Elements 4.0
I recieved a wacom tablet for christmas back in 2006 I believe it was, and with it came Adobe Photoshop 4.0 and other programs...
But recently, the computer I had Elements on crashed and we had to get new one.
The install disc I have for Elements is for XP, but we only have a Windows 7 computer now...
Is there any way I would be able to install Elements to work for our new desktop?
I don't have any money available to purchase any new programs at this time and I'm really hoping I would be able to get this software on to the new desktop... Is there anything I can do about this or....is my only option to pay?

Is there any way to retrieve Data from permanently crashed Palm?

I have a treo 755p that seemed to die on me. I can't get it past the "Access" opening page when I power on. The phone gave me a message about memory shortfall after a phone call and that was it. My service provider -Telus- no longer handles Palm and so they quickly told me that it was toast... but I'm suspicious... They want to get me into a Blackberry.
I have discovered that everthing was backed up except for my Versamail and I had some important emails stored there. Is there some way that this information can be accessed in any way? Is there something I can try to do? The person at the store tried to reset the phone but that apparently did not work.
So... two parts to the the question: Can somebody tell me what steps I can do to save my Treo and if it is dead... is there any way to access the phone's hard drive?

I am sorry to hear about the problem you are having. Unfortunately, the device does need to be fully booted to access the memory and sync it. If it is not able to boot, there is no supported way of getting your data off of that unit. A hard reset may resolve the boot issue you are having but the data would be lost. However, you can try a hard reset and answer "No" to erasing your data to see if it will fully boot. I will epxlain this process in further detail.
To hard reset the device you will want to remove the battery. Before placing the battery back in the device, hold down the red (end call) button. While holding down that button reinsert the battery. Continue holding the red button until the loading bar at the bottom completes. You will then be prompted with a message "Erase All Data Yes or No." You will then press DOWN on the 5 way navigator to respond "No" to this prompt. If the device still gets stuck and will not boot then you must answer "Yes" to resolve the issue. NOTE: BY ANSWERING YES WILL ERASE ALL DATA CURRENTLY STORED ON THE DEVICE.
I hope this helps in resolving the issue you are having. Future advice: Hotsync your device to a computer regularly to keep a back up of your data just incase if these problems occur.

Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 device fails when powered. Best way to retrieve data

Hi, I'm new here because until now I've been lucky enough to experience no issues with my NAS.
Unfortunately, as of this morning when I power on the ix2 the '!' light blinks red. I can't connect to it through my computer and the desktop Iomega program, under 'dashboard' everything seems as usual except the pie chart showing space usage is not there. But it does still say the device is operating normally. However, when I click on Users or Shared Storage it says 'Disks Not Ready. The selected function is not available due to the state of the disks. Visit the dashboard for details.'
Can anyone advise me what to do from here? I keep a backup elsewhere but I would like to get a few little things of that have been added since my last backup if possible though, it's not the end of the world if it's not.

Can you create new shares? Some users have been able to retrieve their data by adding the shares back by the same name. Not sure if it will be the same case here. A Linux-based device should be able to read from the drives, so there may be an error on the drive or a bad sector possibly. You may need to use a data recovery service to retrieve the data.
You could try one other thing by accessing the hidden support page.

Select "Recover Disks". I would only do this as a last resort and are not concerned with losing the data.

Any way to retrieve data (mainly photos) off of a water damaged iPod 4?

I dropped it in the washing machine (because i'm an idiot) so it's completely fried. I recently backed it up on iTunes, but not iCloud. I have important pictures that I really need. Is there anyway to get them back off of the old iPod and put them onto a new one or the computer?

Dry the iPod in a sealed container with uncooked rice for a week and periodically change the rice.

My computer crashed and I had to replace the harddrive. I can reload the software, but is there any way to get back the music purchased from the iTunes store?

OK firstly is there any way to retrieve the files songs from the harddrive? If not go to check purchased music its under advanced then put in your password and account details then it will give u list of your purchased music videos etc It should let u store it or drag it into the new libary. If u have prove that u have paid for it any how they have to give u a refund for it. ITS a tricky bas** when this happens mine went but i had a i pod nano a while back which i saved all files onto its wise to save them onto a usb pen or maybe a i pod shuffle around 70 quid its saves u alot of stress in the long run sorry cant be more help IF U have i pod then get the serial number on the back 11 digits i think contact apple ok laters D

Lost Fireworks cs3 due to computer crash

I have the serial number for Fireworks cs3. I lost my software when my computer crashed. Is there a way to download this software to a new computer without having to pay for it again?

OK I did some reading and found out maybe the .exe extention got dropped off when downloading. I clicked on properties for the file and found out it still had the .exe. I noticed that the a block and unblock key. I unblocked the fill and it downloaded the fireworks cs3 and everything worked ok. At the end it said to restart my pc. When it restarted the screen was black but I could see the mouse pointer. The screen is ok because when I shut the pc down manually my wall paper and desk top icons appeared for a second before shuting down.
Do you think I got a virus from that download?

you should have downloaded an .exe file. did you?
if so, click (or double click it). or right click and click "run as administrator".

To see if there are any backups of your device on the computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Moving the mouse over the listed backups will tell you to which device they belong.
If there is no backup of your phone listed, your data is gone.

Are purchase items are free to re download when computer crash

When computer crash or broken and need to re install or change with new one, are the purchase items we bought before are free to download or have to pay again? Kindly share your experience

Should all show up as "downloads" in Purchases if you use the same Apple ID.

In Firefox 3.6.10 I was able to go forward and backwards between pages without the page defaulting to the top of the page. Is there any way to prevent the page from automatically moving to the top when using the forwards and back buttons in Firefox Four?

I like to be able to navigate backwards and forwards without having to scroll down and find where I was previously. In Firefox Four, when using the forwards and back buttons, the page will automatically return to the top of the page. Is there any way to change this setting in Firefox Four to prevent it from doing that?

Thanks for the response. No Time Machine, but I probably have a backup from a few months ago on an external hard drive. :/ I guess it'd have useful history, but not if it overwrote the last 3 months or so of Awesome Bar, that might not be so great.
