Lot Size "WB - Weekly Lot Size"

Dear All,
I have selected lot size "WB - Weekly Lot Size" for a material.
The Planned week start day is Monday in planned calender.
If i run MRP for the above maintained material it is not flowing the requirment and it is not combined on Monday, it is throing on Tuesday, Thursday and all the other day including MOnday also.
Why is this system is not throwing correctky the requirment on every MOnday.
Is there settings need be done to get this.
Your valuable answer will be appreciated.

Please check your settings in SPRO:
SPRO > Production > MRP > Planning > Lot-Size Calculation > Check Lot-Sizing Procedure
...here you can check "Scheduling" field (V439A-TERBV) of lot size "WB". And you can check also field V439A-LGTER.
F1 help for the field:
Scheduling for period lot sizes in short-term area
This indicator defines the time in the period the system is to create the availability date or the start date for the lot for period lot-sizing procedures.
The availability date is the date on which the material, including the goods receipt processing time, is available again. In the MRP list, the availability date is equal to the MRP date.
In in-house production, the start date is the order start date, in external procurement the start date is the release date.
The following procedures exist:
Availability date equal to requirement date
Availability date at period start
Availability date at period end
Start date at period start
Planned order start date at period start and availability date at period end
With this setting, the in-house processing time in the material master record is ignored.
Note
The following is valid in all cases:
If the start date lies in the past, the system switches to forward scheduling. The following example illustrates how the system procedes:
The period start is Monday and the period end is Friday. The planned delivery time is 8 days. The indicator for determining the date is set to, "availability date at period end".
Today is Monday, a requirement is planned on Wednesday. The system has to schedule forwards. As the system works using date determination, today's date is not selected as the start date. Instead, the system determines the next period end, and uses backward scheduling to calculate a start date that does not lie in the past. This means that the end date was planned for the Friday of next Week.

  • 'Start of Lot Size Grouping' and 'Lot Size Strategy' parameters

    Hello,
For "by period" lot sizing procedure, could anyone explain the difference between:
    - "Start of Lot Size Grouping" flagged with  "Lot Size Strategy": 1
    - "Start of Lot Size Grouping" flagged with  "Lot Size Strategy": blank ?
I  have played around with  both options and both produced the same result. If anyone could provide some insight , I would appreciate it.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Datta,
    Thank you for your help.
You indicated that the "The first period of the grouping horizon can be different than the period in which demand exists".
How would the first period be different? What other elements could be considered for the start of the horizon?
For example,   Periodic Lot of 4 weeks, Lot Size Strategy 1 or blank  and Start of Lot Sizing Group Flagged produced the exactly same result. What is interesting about it, is that with Lot Size Strategy "blank" the group production quantity is placed in a bucket where there is no demand. The results with Lot Size Strategy "1" makes sense as I have the grouped quantity placed in a bucket where I have shortage due to Safety Days requirement and not necessarily demand.

  • Weekly lot size configure

How can i configure the weekly lot size which should plan the matrilal in the week days not at the start of the week .
as per my knowledge if it is weekly then As standard the system tries to schedule the receipts for the first requirements date in a period for the weekly lot size (WB).
for WB (weekly lot size ) it will not accept the other lot size  in the customization.
    Plz let me know

    piyush

    Hello sir  ,
    Thanks for the reply ,
The requirement is a new lot size like WB, but the End of planning time fence (10days ) should not be rounded to the start of next week.
actually our client wants to use the Planning time fence 10 days  & total replinishment time 10 days for the material & that should consider in the planning the material  & in the MD04 screen also it should look with the same date .
i have mentain the planning time fencce 10 & total replinishment type 10 days but when i see the md04 it is showing the differant dates to me
    example from todays date for
todays date 31.04.2009 (5 day working as per the factory calendar)
19.04.10 -- end of time fence
If i want "End of planning time fence" date is same like "End replenishment lead time.
14.04.10 -- end of replinishment time
14.04.10 -- end of time fence
how i will achive this .
I have used the material with firming type but i am not able to see the the replinishment time in the MDo4 as mrp element as a .
please provide me a details .
    Thanks in advance

  • Weekly lot size

    Hi,
Want to plan material based on weekly lot size. However, am working in a region where week begins on saturday and ends on thursday with friday off.
Have tried maintaining a planning calendar for the same and used lot size PK.Also, have maintained the factory calendar accordingly but, the system does not give desired result.
    Am I missing something?
    Tarang

    1. In Factory calener in spro, use No. first workday as 5 (i.e Saturday)
    2. Have you updated the new factory calender in the Plant.
    3. In Planning calender , Period begin on following weekday = 6- Saturday
    4. have you updated Planning calender correctly in material master

  • Weekly lot size calculation with scheduling lines

    Hi,
We are using WB = weekly lot size calcultaion for purcahsed material.
We are also using Scheduling agreement and MRP is creating schedule lines automatically, but it does not take into account the weekly lot size.
If we have three different requirements coming from different end products for same week, but different date and then we run the MRP, SAP will create three different schedule lines for the same date. Is it possible to configure system so, that it will create one schedule line in that case?

  • Combination of Fixed Lot size and Period lot size

    Dear all
    I have scenario as follows:
    1. My supplier's standard packing size of a raw material is 1000 EA.
    2. I want to follow period based lot size to optimise my order and inventory cost. But I don't want to use dynamic lot size which will propose dynamic quantity.
So my requirement is like I want to fix lot size as 1000 at material master and Period is Week. My proposal quantity must be 5000 EA for the following demand pattern:
    Week 1:1200
    Week 2: 1000
    Week 3: 1100
    Week 4: 1000
System must consider period as well as fixed quantity.
Kindly throw some light on this.
    Advance thanks.

    Hi
1.As you are looking for Weekly demand demand quanityt , you have to assign Weekly Lot Size : WB.
    2. Goto OWD1   and Create a Rounding Profile which will rounds into Weekly Demand quantity for that plant and simulate .
3.Assign this rounding profile in MMR in MRP1
3.DO NOT assing  rounding valu as 1000 .Rather keep it blank
Hope this will solve the problem

  • Rounding Value,Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Siz parameters

    Hello Gurus,
Please explain me the what is the use of the parameter Rounding Value
,Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Size parameters in the product master and how does it in impact during the Heuristic Run?
    Thanks.

Rounding value is the incremental quantities in which the order can be produced/procured. Eg. if orders are possible with quantities 40,60, 80, 100 etc..then rounding value is 20.
Min lot size is the minimum quanity in which order can be produced eg. 40 in above example
Max lot size is the maximum quanitity in which the order can be produced/procured. eg. 100 in our example
Impact on Heuristic run: heuristics takes all the above parameter to plan supply order. eg. if requirement is 55, it will supply plan for 60. If requirement is 120, it will produce two orders - one for 100 and the other for 20. if the reuqirement is 10, the order size will be 40.
    Hope this helps.

  • Fixed lot size and Minimum lot size

    Dear senior,
My client has the following scenario. His supplier provides the item in a fixed lot size of 100. The minimum lot size to be ordered is 300.
The supplier is a fixed vendor.
I tried to maintain this information in the Material Master MRP views. Lot size  - FX, Fixed lot size - 100, Minimum lot size - 300.
However, everytime, the minimum lot size will get reset.
Is there any way , I can maintain this scenario via configuration or any other method?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Fixed lot size - 100 means for every 100 quantity system will create one purchase document.
If you selected Lot size - FX - Fixed order quantity , then no need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields.
Then you have to maintain Fixed lot size filed only.
    Ex:
    Lot size = FX
    Fixed lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 300. Then system will create 3 PO's with quantity of 100 each.
If Lot size is Ex - Lot-for-lot order quantity, then only need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields in the MRP 1 view.
    Ex: Lot size = EX
    Minimum lot size = 60
    Maximum lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 250. Then system will create 3 purchase documents, two documents with the quantity of 100 and third one with the quantity of 60.
That's why, in your case system is reseting Minimum lot size every time.
If you want to maintain Minimum lot size, then maintain
    Lot size as EX
    Minimum lot size = 100
    Max lot size = 300
    It will solve your problem.

  • Lot for lot(EX) with minimum lot size

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to have Ex with minimum lot size. I have a situation where an FG cannot be produced over a certain qty but can be produced in any numbers beyond that. Please explain.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi,
You can use Lot size key EX- lot for Lot order and Minimum lot size as per the requirement. If the lot size is smaller than the Minimum lot size qty procurement proposals will be created for the minimum lot size quantity.
Hope it resolve your issue. Kindly revert for further clarification.
    thanks and regards

  • Weekly Lot-sizing yielding incorrect Planned Order dates

    Hi All,
    need a help..
    Lot-sizing key = W2 (weekly)
"Scheduling" on the config of the lot-sizing key = 3 (Period start := start and period end := delivery date). This data has been maintained for a material that is to be planned/produced on a weekly basis.
Requirement --- Weekly planning on my material. MRP should return Planned Orders with Start Date = Reqt Date (of the Dependent reqt) & End date = Availability date (of the dep reqt).
Currently, the system is calculating the "only" hours on the basis of the Routing data (I'm running Lead Time Scheduling) while creating Planned Orders during the MRP run against my expectation of spanning the production/order out over multiple days (per the lot-sizing config)
Any clue would be of a great help
    cheers

    Thanks Mario,
Had found that out during the course of my testing. I'm doing a Lead Time Sched, so obviously my reqt can't be met..
So, we can conclude that though a weekly lot-sizing procedure is/could be compatible with LTS, the Config within the lot-size (field Scheduling = 3) cannot be used to influence the dates on the created Planned Orders...
    Cheers

  • Offset in planned order with weekly lot sizing.

    Hi,
After i run MRP with a weekly lot sizing procedure, avaiability date = start of the period, the MRP groups all planned orders of the week at the first requirements date of that week.
But what i need is to put that group of the planned orders in the last working day of the week before.
    For example:
    Week
    Friday Week n
    Week n+1
    Ind. Requirements
    0
    1
    1
    1
    1
    1
    Planned order
    5
Can you please help me how to solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mike

    Hi,
It is possible by configuring a version of the standart weekly lot sizing procedure. In customization for lot sizing procedures (tr. OMI4), copy the lot sizing procedure WB and name it. In the detail settings of the procedure set the scheduling field to 1. This makes the delivery date of the procurement proposal the period start (you requirement is the last day of the previous period, however this is the best next option). You may press F1 after clicking on this field and learn about other options. Please assign this new procedure to the material and test it.
    Regards.

i though of creating a new table with necessary columns (like ... tablename, tablespace, owner, lastweek size, this week size, difference). and running a procedure every monday to load data into table.
please let me now if my apporach is right, and guide me inthis.

if i use the LAG/LEAD it will use the data of the same column (i.e the size of the above table, not previous week size of the same table), please correct me if i am wrong. If you only have one size column, then you will want to use the same column from the table to populate both the this_week_size and last_week_siize columns of the output.

  • Finding the size of db and size of used space

    Greetings all good people.
Can you please help me find out about 2 database information?
One, I want to find out the size of a database =size of physical files.
and the size of data which is the size occupied in physical files.
We are about to start a new project and there is a table on the database but it is empty.
We want to be exporting data into this table but we want to make sure that there is enough space on the db before we start populating the table with data.
I believe the code below just gives me the size of the database.
    select (bytes/1024/1024) as total_gigs from dba_segments where owner='BELL' and segment_name='$TABLE_NAME
But I want to know the total size of the database and how much size has been used already, much the same as you would want to know the size capacity of a hard drive and how much of the size has been used.
Sorry if my request is confusing.
    Thanks a lot in advance

db size can be found out
    select sum(bytes)/1024/1024/1024 from dba_data_files ;
and size of data is -- in the datafiles
    select sum(bytes)/1024/1024/1024 from dba_segemnts ;
You can find out by below query .. the tablespace sizes -- would be DBSIZE
used space -- would be the actual occupied space.
    select t.tablespace, t.totalspace as " Totalspace(MB)",
    round((t.totalspace-nvl(fs.freespace,0)),2) as "Used Space(MB)",
    nvl(fs.freespace,0) as "Freespace(MB)"
    from
    (select round(sum(d.bytes)/(1024*1024)) as totalspace,d.tablespace_name tablespace
    from dba_data_files d
    group by d.tablespace_name) t, (select round(sum(f.bytes)/(1024*1024)) as freespace,f.tablespace_name tablespace
    from dba_free_space f
    group by f.tablespace_name) fs
    where t.tablespace=fs.tablespace (+)
    order by t.tablespace

    Gang,
What is the difference between Inspection Lot Qty vs Actual Lot Qty. And which one of these should get updated when more than one receipt is against the same Material/Batch/SLoc?
    Thanks
    Bruce

Inspection lot Qty & actual lot qty as I remind are most of the time same but when you do the QTy correction through QAC1 ,they come into picture...or may be when you have inspection control defined in the QM view
Inspection lot qty has significance for inspection & calculation of sample size.
When more than one receipt is against the same Material/Batch/SLoc the inspection lot QTy will be Qty for which he material document is created,

No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.
