Lotus Notes Backup data .nsf file corrupted

Hello friends,
One of my users backed up data (nsf file) of Lotus notes got corrupted. The file size is 4 GB. Now the user is asking me to retrieve the data (mails) and i am not able to find any utility.
Anyone having idea about any such free utility / tool to repair corrupt .nsf file.

Lotus Notes Database data corruption usually occurs when the software application or the operating system crashes while the .OND data file is open in memory. In most cases, headers or parts of the data file are not saved to disk causing the data
corruption or the application to fail. There are ways to recover all or part of your data file. U should immediately make 2 or 3 backup copies of the corrupted OND file(s) and stop using the computer except to send the file(s) for recovery analysis.
There is a very good tool NSF Repair Kit such is powerful that repairs & Recovers Lotus Notes NSF file & restores them in original format to any user-intended location.
1. Make a new copy of the database and deselect Access Control List in the “Specify What to Copy” section of the Copy Database dialog box. This will bypass the corrupt ACL and create a default ACL that you can then modify as necessary.
2. Replace the design of a mail database with a non-mail template and then do a replace back to the mail template, which has been known to correct corrupted ACLs.
3. From the Administration client > Files tab, select a healthy ACL database where the ACL is similar to the one that needs to be replaced. Right-click and select ACL.Copy. Select the bad ACL database then right-click and select ACL.Paste. This
is an easy way to reset the ACL.

Iphone4 will not sync, back up file corrupt

During the sync process my iphone was accidentally disconncted. After restarting my computer and trying to again sync I received an error message stating the the back-up file is corrupt. I followed the procedure to delecte the corrupt file and have recieved the same message. I followed the process to uninstall / reinstall itunes and related files twice with same results. Any ideas?

I have the same issue. I deleted all the backup's in Itunes, under preferences/devices. But, I still have the corrupt backup error.

I have Windows 7, but I don't see any of these folders. I can't get past Users\ (username). I can't find AppData, or Roaming, or Apple Computer, or MobileSync, or Backup. I tried doing searches for each of the folders but I couldn't find any of those folders.
Would it work to uninstall windows and reinstall it?
Any help would be appreciated.

PSE10 not writing dates to files consistently

I asked essentially this question on Elements Village a few days ago. No responses as yet, so I thought I'd try here...
In PSE10, I have many photos scanned to TIFFs. In the Organizer, I set the dates for these photos to match when the original photo was taken (which of course is not present in the automatic metadata for the scanned image). However, when I look at the actual photo files (either with exiftool, or looking at the metadata available in Windows Explorer on my Windows 7 machine), usually my added date is not present. If it is there, I see a "Date taken" in Explorer. In exiftool, it appears in a few places, including IPTC Date Created and XMP-xmp:Create Date. However, it only appears in about 5-10% of the files. The ones where it does appear seem random to me.
I have this problem after doing Write Keyword Tags and Properties Info to Photos, although I'm thinking this isn't a factor with this problem.
Does anyone know how to get these added dates to be written reliably to the files? And why is it intermittent with PSE10?

An update, and some more questions:
I figured out which dates get written to files and which do not. If my assigned date is only the year, or only month and year, it does not get written to the file. It is necessary to have the day specified (but not the time) to have it written to the file. So some new questions:
If you only specify a year, or year and month in Lightroom, does it write it to the file? What about other programs, such as Picasa? Does it support year only dates?
I remember in the past reading a John Ellis FAQ where he suggested when you only had the year to put in Jan 1st, etc. I can see how this trick would solve my immediate problem, even tho it is misleading. My question is the following. Lets say I plan to convert to Lightroom in the near future. If I added these artificial Jan 1st's, etc., would that mess up me up after importing into Lightroom?

Itunes will not sync photos - itl file corrupt

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP. The XP install had my drive partitioned and my itunes data was on the E drive. Now with Windows 7 I have one partition (C) and I was able to restore everything from Itunes to the new drive. All is well accept my photos which will not sync. I renamed the itl file and let it create a new one and my photos will sync. If I go back to the original itl file the photos stay there as long as I don't uncheck the syncphotos box. I need to go back to my old itl so that my music libraries are correct - including album art, etc. I don't know why this happened or if there is a way to get the itl file back to where it should be. If I did not have so much music I would just use the itl file and recreate my music library. I did see an article talking about moving the xml file to the desktop and deleting the itl file then restoring from the xml. I am just afraid that my xml file has been updated so much since I had this issue start that it will not be correct. Does the xml file only keep info on the music or is it a repository for all itunes data?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have just updated the ipod touch software to 4.1. The update seems to have helped improve the very sluggish performance introduced with 4.0 but now photos just won't sync.
These are the same photos that are on the ipod Touch from software 4.0. The other sync items seems to have worked.
The sync gets stuck with either "Finishing sync" and barber-pole scroll or Syncing photos 4 of 4.
Unchecking the "Sync photos" Allows the sync to complete.
The "Remove photos/Keep photos" option appears when changing the "Sync photos" option. Keeping the photos leaves the previously installed images on the IPT. Using a PowerMac G5.

Timemachine does not backup all my files

I have a macbook pro 13 inch early 2011. I use an external hard drive for timemachine backup. A couple of months ago my hard drive broke and I restored my time machine backup. Unfortunately a lot of files were missing, mainly random songs from my itunes. Itunes still listed the songs but could not find them. When I went into the itunes media folder the folders where the songs should be in were still there but empty. So I checked my timemachine backup, looked like Timemachine never backed up them. After a lot of hard work I managed to get most of my stuff back from around.
But now when I backup with timemachine, and I look in the folder in my time machine the itunes folder is 20 gigs smaller than it should be. So again it is not backing up all my files. The folders are not on the excluded list. Does someone know a solution to this problem

Just downloaded maverick and iPod touch saying could not backup that is was corrupt or not compatible....what do i do

Corrupted .NSF file is overwritten

Please help. I found my Lotus .NSF file corrupted as it was having 0 Kb in size. Due to improper resolution, it was overwritten to fix the archiving issue. Now that the file size has become 22MB which is default file size for any .NSF file. Now, please
help me, I have lost all my mails and when I try to recover, it recovers only from the overwritten file and not from the original corrupted file. Is there any good software to revert the overwritten and recover the corrupted file?

If you check out the thread from my question (524480), we found
that we had to enable the IIOP task on the domino server as we
were not running it, this cured the problem I think you are
encountering.
This has not solved all our problems as I only see Notes data in
the Inbox Portlet Preview mode, this problem is refered by other
contributors as the collapsing Portlet problem (496625) and I do
not know whether there is a solution to this problem yet.

Can not restore data files from backup set

I am trying to restore Server A's backup data to Server B (they are all oracle11g) using rman. The restore commands is below:
rman target /;
shutdown immediate;
startup nomount;
restore controlfile from '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/ctl_xxx'
alter database mount;
catalog start with '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/';
restore database;
recover database;
alter database open resetlogs;
For the first time, it works. But when i tried to restore another backup data by the same way:
rman target /;

alter database mount;
catalog start with '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/';
restore database;
recover database;

The second time, i found that rman restore the old backup data, which means that it restore the data file under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100418/' instead of '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/'.
So I run 'list backup of database summary' to see the backup set lists in control file.

there's no backup set 945 at all. that's why i could not restore data file under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/' at the second time.
So, why two backup list is different ? how can i restore datafile under '/usr/local/oracle/backup/20100425/' ?

My purpose is to use the newest backupset of Server A to update Server B. So if Server A crush, Server B will be useful. Is there any other way to do that ?

From what I understand through your problem is that you are updating the database tables with the values obtained from the *.msg file, which may also include Asian characters. If you debug and check your internal table I'm certain you would find your Asian characters as they are. But once you upload them on to the database they get distorted. The problem is probably arising because your system is not unicode enabled, Please confirm with your basis person whether the system is Unicode enabled.
