  • Lotus Notes Repository

    Hi All,
        We are using EP6 SPS15.
I am trying to configure the lotus notes repository with the help of steps given in help.sap.com. After configuration of the same the repository prefix showing under the root directory but when i am trying to click on it its giving me the following error.
<b>System missing in landscape configuration for a Lotus Notes repository</b> You tried to access a Lotus Notes repository, but the system of the Lotus Notes repository is missing in the system landscape configuration. Contact your system administrator.
The strange thing is that i have done the same config successfully on EP6 SPS14. But no luck in SPS15.
            What would be the problem?

    Hi
Will you please check whether you have followed following  and do not forget to give points
Lotus Notes Integration With SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0
    (Process description)
These documents describe the entire process of integrating lotus domino server with enterprise portal server to leverage the usage of lotus notes within the portal framework.
    Step1: Create a System
o     Choose System Administration&#61664;System configuration&#61664;System Landscape&#61664;Portal Content&#61664;Content Provided by SAP. Right click on collaboration and then choose New From Par&#61664;System.
o     Select com.sap.netweaver.col.app.gw and choose next.
o     Select a server (lotus notes) and then choose next.
o     Enter the System Name and ID (for ex lotus) and choose next and then finish.
o     Enter System Aliases by choosing system Alias from the display drown list.
o     Enter the system Alias in the alias field and choose add and then save.
    Step II: Create E-Mail Transport
&#61607;     The email transport defines the SMTP server and other configuration required for sending e-mails. To configure an e-mail transport choose
    &#61607;     System Administration&#61664;System Configuration&#61664;Knowledge Management&#61664;Collaboration&#61664;GroupWare Transports&#61664;Mail Transport
&#61607;     SMTP Sever: The address of the SMTPServer for sending e-mails
&#61607;     Sent Messsages: You specify the folder on the server where the sent e-mail is to be   store: -Sent on Lotus domino Server.
&#61607;     System Alias name: Alias that was defined for the groupware server in system configuration.
    Step III: Check E-Mailing Service
This is a global service that is required for sending e-mails and which can be   located by choosing System Administration&#61664;System configuration&#61664;Knowledge Management&#61664;Content Management&#61664;Global services&#61664;Mailing Service. This service needs to be active and an email transport must already have been created.
    Lotus Domino Transports
The lotus domino server provides java libraries for the posting and retrieval of information servlets running on the domino server can make use of these java libraries to query the domino database for information. The Functionality is based on java servlets and runs on the lotus domino server. The java servlets need to be deployed on all connected lotus domino Servers. The transport consists of two parts
&#61607;     Java transport that runs on the portal server (LDS-P) and is deployed automatically on installation
&#61607;     Java servlet that runs on domino server (LDS-D) and needs to be installed on every lotus server in the landscape.
        The Process flow is
1.The Java-transport makes an HTTP(s) call to the servlet on the domino server and user credentials are passed.
2.The servlet retrieves the data from the server.
3.The data is retrieved to the java transport on the portal.
    Installation of LDS-D Components
To access the users database (.nsf) the LDS-D component must be installed on the same domino server as that on which the database in question is available. If users are distributed among multiple Domino Servers, install the component on each of the servers. Alternately you can set up one Domino server with replication that host all portal domino users.
1.Locate the LDS-d component shipped with lotus transport.
The components can be found in<irj>\root\WEB-INF\PORTAL\PORTALAPPS\com.sap.netweaver.coll.appgw.translotus-api.jar.
2.Copy the com.sap.netweaver.coll.appgw.translotus-api.jar file to the lotus servlet folder as defined in the Lotus server configuration. For examplec:\Lotus\domino\Data\Servlet.Create this servlet folder if it does not yet exist.
3 Using the Lotus administrator Client update the domino server document (Current server document) in the section Internet protocols&#61664;Domino Web Engine&#61664;Class path with above jar file path for e.g. C:\Lotus\Domino\Data|domino\servlet\Coll.appl.gw.translotus-api.jar.
4.Restart the lotus domino’s HTTP Tasks.
Configuration of Cache  is very important
    Hope this helps you

  • How to migrate documents from Lotus Notes to Stellent Repository

    Hi All,
I want to migrate almost 5000 documents from Lotus Notes to Stellent Repository. Is there any way to achieve this functionality?
how to integrate both the things please let me know.
    Regards,
    Vishal Shah

    Hey Vishal,
    one approach could be
    1) fetch all the documnets and metadata (wat ever you need) from the Lotus Notes repository using java+Lotus API 2) write a BatchLoad script file using the metadata you have. And then start the batch loader.
    other approach could be to
    1) fetch all the documnets and metadata (wat ever you need) from the Lotus Notes repository using java+Lotus API
    2) Checkthem in using the WSDLs.
There is one thing thought that even i would like to know its which of the two will perform better ?

  • Urgent: Lotus Notes and TREX

    Hi,
We are planning to use SAP’s TREX to search for word documents and ppts embedded within Lotus Notes. However, we have a couple of queries regarding our requirement and would appreciate your help.
    1) Is it possible to use the TREX server for indexing documents within Lotus Notes without an Enterprise Portal platform (For Ex., Is it possible to set TREX as the default search engine of Lotus Notes?)?
If the above is not feasible then please read requirement 2:
    2) We are currently running Lotus Domino 6.5 and the portal platform is NW 04, SP15. I understand that there was a limitation of not being able to connect the portal with any Lotus Notes repository having version greater than 5.0.8. Does this restriction still exist?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and suitably rewarded.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vibhu

    Hello Vibhu,
regarding 1) in the notes client, the search button actually contains a dropdown. This dropdown list may also contain HTTP URLs (e.g. in the standard R6 client you find AIL, Altavista and some other search engines linked). You may think of adding the TREX URL also there
regarding 2) please use the KM repository manager by Conet for doing so. To do so, please take a look athe the portal Content portfolio here on SDN or direcly access the business packgage at:
    https://www2.iviewstudio.com/sdn/detail_view/index.cfm?action=package_information&CatalogSet=Vendor%20Content&ItemID=17344&CFID=7410541&CFTOKEN=5471887

  • Conet Repository Manager for Lotus

    Hi, guys.
We have to use the KM Repository Manager for Lotus Domino deliverd by Conet
which is based on Lotus Domino R6 and higher.
Does this mean we have to BUY the new Repository Manager from Conet
and get related implementation and configuration help from them too?

    Hello Sven,
as far as I know and based on the SAP certification records CONET is the only company delivering a KM repository manager for Lotus Notes/Domino databases.
Despite the fact that the "old" SAP KM repman for Domino is technically limited to R5, the CONET repman also comes with more features and richer functionality (e.g. you can configur your distributed Lotus landscape / replication architecture for the Conet repman and other features).
Simply visit SAP TechED 2006 Session UPE106 and learn more on Lotus integration with SAP KMC.

  • Lotus repository manager

    Hi,
I have followed sdn documentation for the creation of Lotus repository manager. The Lotus Domino server settings and restart have happened. Yet, the component monitor start up has failed.
Filter, services and resource event broker all show as running.
Please advise as to what may be wrong. Valuable suggestions would be rewarded with points.
    Thanks,
    Arun

    hi,
You must fulfill the following prerequisites in order to use the lotus repository manager:
    ·        You have installed a Lotus Domino server in version 5.0.6.
    ·        You have a Lotus Notes user that has read access to all documents.
The following settings are to be made in the Domino Administrator by the administrator of the Lotus Domino server.
           1.      Users have an Internet password. On the People and Groups tab, choose People -> Edit Person. On the Basics tab for the user, set the Internet password. This password is needed for User Mapping in the portal.
           2.      The permission Run unrestricted Java/Javascript/COM must be assigned to the users on the Lotus Domino server. Make these settings under Configuration -> Current Server Document -> Security.
           3.      You have to activate the parameter Allow HTTP clients to browse databases under Configuration ® Current Server Document -> Internet Protocols ->HTTP so that the repository manager can access the Lotus Domino server’s databases.
Make sure that the timeout of the DIIOP Web Agent is set to a suitable value. Enter a value of 3600 or higher.
           4.      The IIOP protocol has to be activated (Configuration tab and then Current Server Document ® Ports -> Internet Ports -> IIOP).
Make sure that the DIIOP task is activated. Enter load diiop into the server console, or add DIIOP to the list of tasks in the notes.ini file: ServerTasks = …,diiop,…
           5.      The HTTP and IIOP ports of the Domino server have to be open.
For details check out the link.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Here is an article that may be pertinent:
KB10340 "BlackBerry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." during the synchronization process
Otherwise, I would think that record 1057 is a bad record and is causing this problem. You might try figuring out which item that is and deleting it, then trying again.
You also could try activating advanced logging and seeing it that provides more details to help you:
KB01451 How to turn on advanced synchronization logging if a wired synchronization fails
    Hopefully something there is helpful!

  • CM Repository manager is not appearing for other users

    Hi Friends,
I have configured CM repository manager with the user having super admin role.
After configuring it am able to see the KM content folder in the Content Administration->KM Content only with the user from where i have configured it. But if i login with the other non-super users the KM content folder is not appearing.
when i open the permissions of the KM content folder through the details of the context menu am getting as below.
    child permissions
    read permissions
    write permissions
    parent permissions etc
where all above are in display mode. So with this i cannt give read or write permission to any other user.
Could anyone please help me out to make it visible to all users.
I have activated all repository services while creating CM repository manager.
Is there any other permissions to be set to make KM folder visible to all users or do i need to any other repository service?
    Regards
    Sireesha.

    Hi Lakshmi,

  • Possible reasons for a repository manager not displayed under KM Content

    Hi,
I developed a repository manager and deployed the par file Archive uploader.
Most time after deployment, I can see immediately an instance of the repository manager under KM Content. However, sometimes, when I made some changes to the code, it doesn't appear under KM Content. The deployment log in SYS/global/config/cm/reports shows no error.
I tried to find some log in System Administration - Monitor, but found nothing.
    So, could anyone tell me:
    1. What might be the reason for the problem that the repository manager cannot display under KM Content after deploying the par?
    2. Where can I find the log explaining why my repository manager cannot display?
    Thanks,
    Ray

    Hi Ray,
Deploying a repository manager means a hot KM deployment, which isn't supported at all, see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bb1f18be-0801-0010-ffa0-e3495f7401bc and SAP note 894884. After such a deployment, the KM is restarted, but you have some kind of "shadow KM" in memory, which leads for most things to an unpredictable behaviour.
In contrast to the documents reffered to above, also the standard KM delivery from SAP still behaves in an uncontrolled way for many issues.
That's why after a KM hot deployment, you should restart your server if you realize anything "unusual". A workaround is to debug your code and using the hot code replacement feature (which only works in some situations, but that's better than nothing...).
    Hope it helps

  • Desktop Manager 5.0 closes when synching Calendar with Lotus Notes 8

I'm running Windows XP, just installed Desktop Manager v5.0 and upgraded to Lotus Notes 8 and trying to synch to a BB Storm.  I continually get an error if I try to do a two way synch with my calendar only.  If I do a 1 way Synch to my Device with or without Replacing all data in target application there is no problem.  Once I change the synch to 2 way synch the synching with the calendar starts then immediately closes and displays the following errors: Blackberry 5 errors.  I've also synched with a Vista Machine and using Outlook calendar without any problem with the same BB.

I decided to open a real problem, so I went to Support.Apple.com and within a few short clicks, Apple called me.
I accidentally hung up on them, and they called back in 2 minutes.
I then waited in the queue for a few short minutes.  The person who answered, understood my problem and transferred me to the iCal department where I waited another 15 minutes.
The iCal department then did some research for 10 minutes, and came back to tell me that, unfortunately, iCal is working / not broken.  I disagreed, saying that this is my business computer and not being able to send meeting invites to anyone not using a MAC is insane.
The support guy suggested I tell the developers directly, via http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html.
    I did.
He suggested that you all do to.  The more people who feedback, the faster we'll get a fix!

  • Version Control Repository Manager could not be reached or is invalid

    Hi All,
My Version Control Repository manager just stopped working for the reason I am not able to determinate, giving the below message: "The specified repository, %server name% , is invalid or not reachable"
There are no usefull messages in the system log, or the VCA / VCRM logs.
    Please assist.
My OS is Windows 2008 R2 x64 for both the VCAnd VCRM.
HP SIM / VCRM version is 7.2
    VCA version is also 7.2
I've tried both a domain account and the certificate.
This was working fine for 600+ servers, now it doesn't work for any of them.
Why doesn't this tool leave ANY usefull logs... ?

Tonkers just to point out VCRM stuff usally goes here
    http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ITRC-HP-Systems-Insight-Manager/bd-p/itrc-455#.VSweOMLD9aR
This can be caused by a restart of the VCRM server as it causes a reindex of the entire repositry which can take a few hours and causes clients to have the repository to appear as "down".
Can also be caused a failed login from a server with an old version of VCRA I believe this is a bug, basically the failed logon causes a manager service restart which of course causes a reindex of the system. Why it works this way I do not know nor have I logged a bug with HP. Its hard because I cannot repro it every time and it also sometimes happens randomly but its far more prevelant on boxes with old agent versions. Note here the current version of the agent that is in the HP repositry is like 7.2.2 but the current release is 7.3.X not sure why the have not allowed the new version to download.
VCRM is very finnacky they really need to nail down some addional preformance and reliability enhancements.

  • Documentum Repository Manager not appearing

    Hi,
I am currently trying to set up a Documentum Repository Manager.  I downloaded the following components from Documentum:
    1. DFC for Windows
    2. iViews for Related Content - SAP EP
    3. Repository Manager - SAP Portal
I have managed to deploy the components to my SAP EP (NetWeaver 20004s).  I can see the documentum iViews listed in the Portal Content folder and the com.documentum.ei.eprm.manager.DCTMRepositoryManager component in the list of Repository Managers.
I created an instance of DCTMRepositoryManager by keying the neccessary configuration information.  However, in KM Content, I am unable to see the configured prefix.  I tried to look for the prefix in Runtime->RepositoryManagers, but to no avail.
Why would my Documentum Repository not appear?  Is there any settings that I have missed?  Has anyone managed to get this working in NetWeaver2004s?  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank You.
    Yours truly.

    Hi Venkat,
Most of the documentation and installation files for integrating the documentum iViews and the repository manager into the Portal can be found at Documentum's website.  You can access the website from http://softwaresupport.emc.com/login/login.asp.
You will need to have an account and login to the site before you can download the relevant items though.
Best of luck to you in trying to integrate documentum.
    Yours truly.

  • Lotus Notes documents migration into Solution Manager

We have been using Lotus notes application for maintaining only documentation in our landscape. But now, the plan is to move all the documentation from Lotus notes to SAP Solution Manager and use it as a document management system from now....
Could anyone please answer the following queries:
    1) Does LSX environment help/enhance the migration ?. If not, are there any tools/accelerators/functions/automatic methods for mas uploading?
    2) This documentation is not project specific documentation. Where do you think this must go in Solution Manager?
In the custom area of BPR?. If yes, please do let me know the procedure for the same.
    3) Would it be possible to link the documents to functional domains/ business scenarios/ business processes in the BPR?
    4) Lotus notes provides access to all the versions (Draft/Approved/Reviewed) of a document. Would it be possible to have the same features even in Solution Manager?
    5) What all document types does Solution Manager recognize?.
I think the Lotus notes documents can be converted to 'Word' format and then put in Solution Manager. Besides this, is there any other common format which is recognized by both the tools?
    6) Standard SAP Solution manager does not provide indexed search. So, in order to retrieve a document later what indexing nomenclature/guidelines do you recommend?
Has anyone done/faced with this kind of requirement. The idea now is to use Solution manager as a document management system. The efforts/process/timelines information if already known would be of great help to start with for us....
Could you also provide the trade offs b/n Solution Manager and SAP knowledge warehouse (KW)?
    Hoping for some replies ...

we also had the same requirement to migration from LN to SolMan Documentation base but there is no such tool (yet?)
What you can do you can migrate from any ARIS like platform to SolMan:
    http://en.sap.info/ids-scheer-announces-migration-program-to-aris-platform/4058
You do have versioning in SolMan and you can upload any kind of document via SOLAR01
regarding the indexing you can either use SAP SES or connect TREX, this is documented in the customizing (SPRO)
TREX will also be the prerequisite to make use of KM in SolMan
