LOUD AWKWARD NOISES DRIVING ME NUTTS...VIDEO LINK TO  NOISE

watch and tell me what you think. thank you all.
http://web.mac.com/araeditor/Site/mac_pronoise.html

Sounds to me like it's either caused by mountings of one of the fans or the hard disk mountings.
Have you added a hard disk? If so, did you use the special "non-vibration" Apple screws that are on the HD sledge? Are the screws tights?
if it were me I'd check inside the Mac that all screws are tightened and that there are no lose cables, etc.

  • Loud click noise in SMPlayer

    Hello,
When I'm watching video clips in the playlist, and the video changes, there are some loud "click" noise. It happens all time and are driving me nuts.
What is causing this, and how do I avoid it ??
Sometimes it helps changing the volume, but not allways.

    I think the cause is:
This is due to the device being closed and reopened on track change.
Some soundcards make a click noise, some don't.
I suppose the fix would be to stop the video player from closing the Linux audio device (in /dev/snd/).

  • Mac Pro will not boot, constant loud fan noise and nothing else

    hello,
earlier tonight,i put my mac pro on sleep, then later on, when i wanted to take it off sleep and use it, it made the loud fan noise, which it always does but goes away, but this time it the fan wount slow down and the loud noise stays and i dont see anything on the screen. im guessing the fan noise is the ATI x1900 card...
any help please..i just bought it 2 months ago...

Hi, here are the steps I would go through. I would unplug the Mac Pro completely from everything and look at the video card's fan intake to make sure it isn't plugged and just make sure everything "looks" correct. I would then plug the machine back into one monitor/keyboard/mouse (leave all the other peripherals disconnected. Once that is done push the power button. Does anything happen? If not then if you have another mac and an external hard drive, make a copy of the OS on the drive and see if you can get the Mac Pro to boot off that drive. If the video card doesn't work then it will not show anything when booting off an external drive. If the external boot does work then I would suspect that you have a bad hard drive (or it crashed). At that point I hope you have a back up of all your data and such.
Mind you these are steps I would go through. What a nightmare. One other thing to check, make sure your monitor didn't die.

  • What it means loud fan noise?

    Hi there,
I have a Imac G5 Rev2 and I read a lot of topics about loud fan noise. I bought an Imac about 4 months ago and the fan noise is a bit louder than when I just got it. What do all the users mean by "loud"? It is only once, when I was running the hardware test, that I heard my Imac did the "airplane" (very loud) fan noise. When I am using applications using a lot of CPU, I hear a louder fan noise but not the "airplane" noise.
Then what is the most reliable program to check the temperature of the iMac G5?
Which range of temperature is normal for the iMac?
Thx in advance for ya replies....

I have a Rev b just like you and light use the temp of the cpu is 65-68º C while the hard drive is about 53º C. This is the temp as I am using two browsers, with iTunes and MS word open and running.
For a temp program you can try Temperature Monitor at this link:
    http://www.bresink.de/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html
You can also try the very handy iStat Pro Widget (Of which the temps I gave you above came from). It has a lot of very useful data, from CPU to Memory usage, from CPU to Hard Drive temps---and even the speed of all three fans. You can find that here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html
    Hope this helps.

  • Very loud fan sound, can't get video, system still running...help?

I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere here or throughout google. Can't find a similar problem.
We have a G4 tower here at work that we run FileMaker server on. It pretty much just sits there and we all connect to it remotely and use the FileMaker on our own machines. It's usually not even touched unless Filemaker needs to be restarted or something along those lines. It shares a monitor with another system so its not usually even connected to a monitor.
Well - today there is a loud fan noise coming from it that we havent heard before. So we went to hook up the monitor and can't get any video. It was fine in the past week or so because we have been on it with the monitor.
FileMaker must still be running fine because we can still connect...for now...but we can't load up a screen to properly shut down, or run the backup or anything to safely turn the machine off. I am not sure which OS is currently installed because I can't get to that info.
Our guess is that the video card died, and that is the video card fan spinning...but if that were the case, would the software running still be fine like it is?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Our tech guy can't make it out until tomorrow morning and we're afraid to have to wait that long...
    Thanks in advance!

G4 tower covers a lot of G4s; it would help to have more specific model information. I think some of the later ones (not my DP800 QS) had software controlled fans. It's possible part of the operating system has crashed and the fan is automatically going into full speed to automatically prevent overheating. The rest of the OS may still be running and explaining why you can get to your files. I'm not sure about the video though. Perhaps somebody else has something more constructive but with that kind of thing I can't help but feel you'll just have to switch off the machine and restart it.

  • Audio interference - loud ringing noise

While broadcasting to Livestream using FMLE and a Panasonic HVX200 camera i am getting some kind of interference in my audio. Its a loud ringing noise. This happens no matter what kind of microphone i use and only happens when i am in my office. I tried the same thing a home and the noise was gone. I have tested the computer, camera, and microphone and they are all in perfect working condition. Something to note, i have done the same test using Wirecast to broadcast instead of FMLE and there was no interference noise. What could it be? I am going crazy trying to figure it out.

HStany, Can you upoad FMLE debug log files for the same settings? FMLE debug logging is disabled by default and can be enabled from <FMLE_Instalation_Dir>/conf/config.xml under <logs>/<enable> tag. Debug logs will be crated inside "My Videos" folder in folder named stats_mmddyyyy. Launch the FMLE after enabling the logs and start the session. After stopping the session, zip the folder and upload. Do not forget to disable debug logging after you are done because debug logging requires considerable disk space for long encoding sessions.

  • Macbook Pro loud vibration/noise

    Hi!
Two days ago my macbook has started to do a loud vibration/noise like if te fan was stuck or something. The sound it's very hight and scary. I took my mac to a service center and after a couple of hours they check it and told me there was nothing wrong with my macbook. But today after using it for an hour the noise and vibration came back. I wasn't playing any games or watching videos just normal web surfing as I always do. I know that the noise and vibration aren't normal cause I've had my mac for two years and It's the first time this happens to me. Any ideas of what can be?

  • Loud crack noise during playing

I'm getting an extremely loud noise like a Pop or Crack randomly during playing of a video from the timeline. It's not in the audio files and it never happens in the same place and it doesn't happen in the exported Quicktime file. Just during playback in Final Cut Express. If I unplug my Klipsch external speakers and play thru the iMac's built-in speakers, it sounds more like a loud one-time beep, then the audio disappears until I stop play and start play again and it plays fine again. Any ideas on what's causing this and how to eliminate it? It scares the crap out of me every time it happens!

It just happens when playing an edited timeline. The noise is not in the audio. It just make a random loud "crack" randomly when playing the video in the timeline whether everything is rendered or not.

  • In anyone experiencing loud fan noise for late 2012 27in iMac

I am getting a rattle sould like fan blades (as opposed to the whoosh of air) on my lat 2012 iMac.  Is anyone else having this issue.  It can be quite distracting.  Could it be a hard drive issue instead?

I have AppleCare cover so I will try to see if they do onsite repair as my nearest store is only about 2 km away.  As I was using the computer last night I heard three incidinces of really loud 'static' noise as well!?!  It went away each time but I managed to record the noise one of the times.  I have included the 'rattle' fan noise also in the links below:

  • What does it mean when a loud, whirring noise (fan-like) emits from the iMac?

My iMac (intel...mid 2010) has been working just fine.  Today, suddenly, this loud, whirring noise began.  It sounded like a loud fan but perhaps it's something else?
I did shut down the computer and waited about five minutes.  When I rebooted it, the sound was gone.
    Any thoughts?

You have this information courtesy of the link I gave you.   I cannot account for the noise but iStat Pro seems to indicate what I hoped.   So this is just information.
    CPU fan:  1200 rpm
    Hard Drive: 1100 rpm
    Optical Drive: 999 rpm
That is exactly the same as my reading now,   I have 10.6.8 on a 2007 iMac 20".

  • Loud fan noise while gaming on GT70 gaming laptop

I've loved my laptop ever since I bought it but there seems to be one problem with the fan possibly.
The fan noise is really audible and it gets annoying when I'm gaming. Games like Fable Anniversary (highest setting) forces the fan to be turned on and make loud noises that even wearing a headset wouldn't help avoid. You know how new MSI laptops have a button for turning on cooler boost 2? It feels like it gets turned on by itself while playing some, if not most games.
I would first like to know if this is normal for a gaming laptop. Its REALLY annoying, I even tried the GT70 Fan control 1.63 but the fan keeps turning on by itself. I understand that the GTX 870m gets heated fast and therefore needs to cool off, but like on almost every game.....Skyrim, Tera (not even that demanding.....and not even on max setting ....) long hours of playing league of legends, The Last Remant..etc. I wanna play without such loud fan noises  I don't mind if its audible but not too loud, I can even hear the fan noise from upstairs if I leave my room door opened. I would really enjoy playing Tera and Archeage without such irritating, loud sound that really distracts me and makes me fear that its abnormal. Hell, even Rift (MMORPG) released in 2011, would turn on turbo fan.... =(. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Specs:
    Name: GT70 2PC Dominator
    Intel Core i7-4810MQ
    GTX 870m

There isn't much you can do with the tool but better than nothing.
It didn't fix the fan problem =/
I'm not the only one with such problem, https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=256673.0 look at the 2nd video and just listen to how loud the fan noise is. (Yes different models but same crap)
The silent option doesn't fully stop/slowdown the fan,  maybe just momentarily then once you open up the game, the fan goes back to its usual 3k RPM. Is there ANY way to stop this? its been happening ever since I bought it and it really makes me not wanna play simply because of the noise that is audible even through wearing a headset. Let alone not wearing a headset....
Sad it happens even when playing fifa 15. I mean is fifa 15 even THAT demanding? the answer is no, not even close to demanding as its using the same engine as 13, 14 ..etc. Also, I played it on my old lenovo laptop that had WAY lower specs such as gt 650m graphics card and yet the fan was extremely quiet, and I might add it was on highest setting....
I understand that the gpu can get heated fast, but on almost EVERY game? at first I thought the fan will only make such noises when playing highly demanding games such as Skyrim. A game from 4 years ago without any frkin mods. or Fable Anniversary..OR Prison Break: Conspiracy (what the f?) but it turns out that the fan will go turbo mode on literally every game. so in conclusion, every game is suddenly demanding thus the Cooler Booster 2 will automatically turn on.

  • Hp Pavillion dv7 - very loud fan noise (cracking)

My HP Pavillion dv7 starts up with a veqry loud fan noise.
It is still under warranty (hp care) tii 23/12/2011
Is the fan broken or can i resolve the problem myself

    Hi,
If the fan is making a lot more noise than usual and sounds as if it's cracking, this is very likely to be a mechanical issue.  By far the best suggestion I can make is that you contact HP straight away and arrange to have this repaired while the notebook is still under warranty.
The telephone number to arrange this can be found on the relevant link below.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.

  • HP Pavilion DV2000 Laptop makes continuous "none stop" loud whining noise.

HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop makes continuous "none stop"  loud whining noise. This happens when the computer is on and only stops if it is shut off.
The noise is very frustrating and just never goes away.
I googled for clues and read that proplems with the processor power management, something to do with AMD but the explaination were not clear and I don't want to ruin the computer. Here is a link to what I read. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=192213
The sound is mainly coming from the left speaker area. So I disabled the sound card but the noise continues.
The fan appeares to be working well and no over heating.
Any clues as to how I can make this stop?
    Thanks everyone.

The fan is so loud that when I have people around me they always ask me what's wrong with my computer. I bought it about 2 years ago but the warranty was only valid for a year and the fan problem got really bad after a year so there was nothing I could do about it. My old Toshiba, which is now more than 5 years old and which I had given to my brother after buying the HP, is still going strong and its fan, even during a hot summer day and while running some rather powerful graphic application on it, is never as loud as the fan which is normally on at all times on the HP. Besides, right after buying the HP and diligently doing all the updates that were recommended by HP Health Check, it died and I had to send it back to HP but because I was outside of the US, at the time, I had no computer for weeks until I returned to the US, got a free box from HP, shipped it to them and got it back. It didn't cost any money but it was a big hassle and not a very promising sign of future problems to come. Good luck to everyone who will buy an HP computer in the future. I am going back to Toshiba.
