I have same issue here with 4.2.1. version software.

Seems like a hardware problem, take it back to the place you bought it from for a replacement or to a Nokia Care Point to have it checked.

Low Mic Signal via Mbox2

More frustrated n00b questions:
I'm getting a really low mic signal into Logic.....
So in trying to research why, I'm spending HOURS combing the web looking for "mbox2 low mic signal", "Logic Pro low mic signal", etcetera ad infinitum, trying to find information. FINALLY I find, buried in a mess of search results, a single sentence on the Digidesign site indicating that rather than select the mbox2 driver in Logic, I have to use DAE (and I also have to download an update to the DAE). So I download and install the update, relaunch everything (a few times), and now am asked to authorize all of Digidesign's various third-party Plugins when I start Logic. Except that I can't activate them because my Mbox2 didn't come with an iLok dongle (which the box said I'd need a USB port for -- I dunno if it was supposed to come with one?). So I click through 20 different third-party-plugin failed activation dialogues as Logic boots, only to be told at last that Logic doesn't recognize any hardware attached. !
So where it was recognizing the mbox driver before, now it's not. (I was able to get a mic signal and record audio yesterday; but the level was VERY low, to the point of having to pump the levels so high that it distorted.)
I don't know if this is a Mbox issue or a Logic issue or a mic issue. I'm leaning toward an mbox/Logic compatibility issue but I'm trying to figure out how the f* to fix it. And my eyes are beginning to cross.

Doesn't the Apple Store sell mbox????? I'm sure they
used to if they don't now. I wish they wouldn't
recommend a product that proclaims itself a viable
substitute for things as fundamental as a preamp that
are not sufficient to be. (I haven't looked at the
Store; maybe they stopped recommending it.)

They used to sell the original Mbox, that is why I bought
one. I saw it on their web site sitting next to and plugged
into my the same Titanium G4 laptop I had. They even
had this whole web page about how great Digi products
would work on Macs. They had me all psyched about
getting pro stools. It only took a few months to see
the way things really were. After that, I did not
swallow everything Apple fed me. After I decided to
to try Logic things got ugly. Digi has a seperate audio
driver for people that want to use their hardware and
not their software. It is almost like
revenge for rejecting them. If you update OSX ( which
you would be crazy to do, once you discover this)
you always need to update their audio driver or the stuff
does not work and lets just say they are not very prompt
on the updates to this driver. I will eventually be getting
another interface and like you,I dont care if it is the
industry standard. I will never buy any Digi products again.
The only thing that keeps me from letting it go on Ebay is
that it has got a pair of high quality Focusrite preamps
in it. Digi, I guess thought that they were not as good
as their own (yea, right) so that is what they put in
the Mbox2, those cheesy 50db gain preamps. Well sorry
you had to a lesson the hard way. I try and persuade
people against buying their stuff but if you had tried
to persuade me before I bought mine, I am not sure
you could have done it. That web page Apple made
sucked me right in.

Low mic volume today, was fine yesterday

I have an alienware laptop that I had just recieved for Christmas. Friends and I have been playing games while talking via Skype for a few weeks, and everything has been fine.
Today, when we went to play, my three friends told me that my mic volume was incredibly low. I checked all my settings, everything is maxed as far as I can tell, and absolutely nothing was changed in between the last time we played and now. (I literally turned my laptop off the last time we played, and powered it back on to this issue)
I can answer any questions.

i am suddenly having this problem as well.
i have tried trouble shooting this problem many ways but it never quite works. i will list what i have done so far.
1) tested with another mic. same effect
2) maxed the mic volume in the skype settings
3) tested with another audio recording software. mic still works great
4) tried resetting everything i could think that would help (computer, skype, skype settings)
5) when i tried resetting skype settings by going into appdata and changing the skype file into Old_Skype forcing skype to reload its settings, it would appear to work wonderfully when i started up the software. it would walk me through the setup settings and the bar that shows mic volume was going up to my voice as it normally does. then after setup and i get into a test call, my mic is back to sounding incredebly quiet.
6) i went into sound setting and tried many combinations concerning mic boost which was already up, tried disableing software setting override, tried disableing all sound effects. all still nothing.
i am using a turtle beach x12 but that shouldent be the problem because a logitech i have is having the same problem. i am running on windows 8.1 i have tried skype calls with friends they all say my mic is very quiet. much much quieter than normal, even when yelling into the mic. if i think of anything else you may need or if you ask for it i will add to the post.

Edit: after more testing i may have discovered the problem. skype is only detecting my onboard mic and is trying to use that (im using a laptop). how can i get skype to detect my turtle beach headset? other programs seem to just fine
Edit 2: disreguard the first edit. when speaking into the mic in a way that the on bord mic wouldn't be able to pick up, skype got the sound i was sending into my headset mic. still quietly but somewhat louder because i was closer to the mic on the headset

Seems like a hardware problem, take it back to the place you bought it from for a replacement or to a Nokia Care Point to have it checked.

SB Live! 24-bit low mic vol

Dell 8400 with a Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit
So I have a bit of a unique problem. My mic works, but the volume is so low that I have to hold it right up to my mouth and shout for anything to even be picked up, and even then it's filled with static at best. I've checked my settings and have turned all of the mic sliders up to full volume. I've also tried using the +20db setting, but that makes the mic too sensiti've and unusable for internet/gaming chat. I've also tried installing the latest drivers to no avail.
Running out of options here...please help!

I also have the exact same spec and exact same problem. I tried two mics still the same. I asked Dell's service but no solution. I posted one in this forum previously but still the repy was asking me to "setting should be on mic but not lin-in", which of course I checked.
Sorry no answer but share the same frustration. Really hope Creative Lab will have a reply!

Low Mic Volume

Just a quickie
I do a bit on voice over editing via my Studio software, but the microphone volume is very low, I've tried different mics and fiddling with the settings but no joy.
Is there something I have missed?

Have you checked "Mic Db boots" option from mixer advanced properties?
Also navigate to Realtek installation folder and execute "miccal.exe" to calibrate the Mic.

Low mic output, can't figure it out at all!

Recently, I tried to find a portable solution just for fun. In the studio, we have a proper mixing desk, amps, pre-amps and the lot. But I'm going away for a few months and I needed to be able to work on the go… That said…
I got myself some candy. At first I thought it would be cheap… I was wrong.
It's costing me because I keep buying new things to try and fix the issue!
I got a nice shure condensor mic and the Behringer Tube Ultragain pre-amp.
To input the sound into the MacBook Pro, I also got Behringer Firewire FCA202.
For those not familiar with these, the FCA202 has 2 ins / 2 outs, 1/4 inch, no pre-amp. The Tube Ultragain offers up to 60dB of gain, +48 V, 20dB PAD, a phase reverse and limiter.
First observation is how the Tube Ultragain indicates proper volume, in fact, when all knobs are all the way up, a simple hush in the mic send the volume indicator to clip. Still, nothing through Logic. I can see a bar, but barely a sound.
I tried to plug my headphones in the back of the Tube Uktragain and it's quite loud. So why won't it work?
Then, I decided it was the Tube Ultragain. I thought I'd get extra gain by buying another audio interface that could be portable. I chose the Line6 Toneport X1. I plug the XLR from the mic to the XLR input of the Tube Ultragain, crank up all the knobs. I output to the Line 6 through the mic input, cranking the gain as well. Still nothing.
I decided to get a different mic. I got the ribbon Superlux R102. I read great reviews. Any setup combination with any of my devices resulted still in very very very very low output.
Considering that I have a few mics, what should I get that will work or what am I doing wrong with what I've got?
The thing is, all these devices work great with guitars. It all points to not enough juice for the mics but seriously, shouldn't the Tube Ultragain do the trick?

The Admin of one of the Revolt Fan sites says that revolt get error's all the time, because of my creative soundcard. He helped another person with it, and that person had to change moherboard! I am not sure what a motherboard is, but i don't want to change soundcard. This Soundcard Works soo good. Revolt supports EAX, but the admin says that i should turn it off. It will cause file damage/deleting (only in the "levels" folder)? when getting error message. I Am not sure, what he said because it was a month ago i talked about it. And Also: It is not Exactly Revolt that i am getting errors from, but a kind of patch, that RST (as the Adminstrator is named) made for all who wants Extra features and Windows Vista playing. I will ask him about what is going wrong and what that is required to play it with the "Phoenix R3" as the "patch" is called. If you want, i could take screenshots of the settings of my Soundcard and the settings that revolt supports.

The 5. works but the top mic jack on the
XI-FI Music will NOT work.
The only way any mic works is on a 2 speaker
setup and using the lower mic jack.
But that aint the way im paying 00+ bucks.

I'm confused by your comment. There's only mic in jack on the X-Fi XtremeMusic card and it's at the top sharing with the Line IN and Digital I/O. Also, the installation CD is bundled with the full retail box package of the soundcard. Didn't you get the CD in the package? If the CD isn't in the retail box package, you should contact Customer Support at let them know about this.

Recently I had purchased brand new iPhone 3GS, everything is good except network signal. very poor, mostly no service indicator is appear. Even full signal coverage area is showing 2 bars only. Anybody is having any idea about this? Please advise.

Mic output very

Using a Sound Blaster X-fi (SB0790), I have very low Mic output. Using Ventrilo, when I try to increase the output volume a pop-up says to use the " +20db Boost" but looking in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" I do not see a way to do that, the "Advanced" setup for the mic is gryed ou.
Bottom line, its not my Mic tahts the problem, so how I get the Mic output to be stronger so that Im heard on Ventilo (or any other chat program).
Whats with this card?

The problem with a noisy mike isn't going to be in the software. It is a hardware problem. Possibly the wiring, grounding, shielding, cross-talk from other wires picking up interference.

TS4449 I can no longer hear music on my iPhone unless I use an ear piece could you please help

For a couple of days now I can no longer hear music (or if I play a video with audio) unless I connect an ear piece. I can't find anything in setting that turns this feature on or off unless I have some hardware problem. Help?

Try your volume buttons, if the slider does not show, then there is a short in the iPhone charging port. Clean charging port with toothbrush and small amount of isopropyl alcohol. If still problem the replacement part is iPhone charging port with flex cable, lower mic, and home button flex connector, all a single less than $10 part. Apple handles this problem with Warranty or AppleCare with Replacement iPhone 4S, if no coverage it will cost $199 for replacement iPhone 4S.

Just need your expertise on this.
Few weeks ago, I was charging my phone iPhone 4S on my computer through USB and the metal side of the phone accidentaly hit a metal stand that has a ground in it. The phone sparked as soon as it hit the metal like a spark on a welding machine and after that, the phone completely shut down. No longer turing on and not charging when plugged. I also noticed that while I tried to charge the phone the phone gets insanely hot at the back and I can feel it on the metal side.
Is there a chance for this phone to be repaired?

At Apple Store battery replacement is $80, or Replacement iPhone 4S is $199. Try battery replacement, if still problem, replace iPhone charging port assembly with lower mic and home button flex connector, if still problem, logic board is damaged which may be a very difficult repair.

Volume not showing up

so just moments ago i dropped my iphone 4s in a glass of milk, dont ask how, but it happened. it dropped it like speaker/charge side down. and now when i try to play music, the little cirlce for the volume isnt there. and when i try to turn up the volume from the side, it doesnt even show up. the volume for music goes in and out. it s like its connected to a bluetooth, but it not. pleasse help

No microphone while mix

I can't seem to get volume through front or rear mic jacks when I'm mixing li've on the net. People saying? they hear the music fine but my voice is very low. I have mic volume all the way up but no change in volume. I tried recording voice in what you here mode and in microphone mode, no change. The meter is moving in the control panel showing my voice is detected but it is not being heard over the net. Even my smart recorder meter is showing movement but still I get complaints of low mic volume. I have creative soundblaster x-fi extreme music SBO 730 witch is a oem preinstalled card but seems to respond to the new vista drivers for x-fi. Only the mic issue is my problem. I run a nvidia 680i SL chipset with a ECS PN2 SL+ motherboard powerd by a Intel 2 quad Q6600(2.4ghz 8mg cache 066 mhz fsb). Running on vista 32 bit os. I'd like to use the front or top mounted mic and speaker jacks opposed to the rear sound card jacks but will take which ever I can get to work. If you dj and have mic problems please respond. If you had mic?output issues please respond Thank you.

I would like you to try the following.
Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
Right click on your audio device and select "Uninstall." Remove driver only if prompted.
Close these windows.
Click Start, type "uninstall a program," and press Enter.
Find Skype on this list and uninstall it.
Reboot your notebook. When Windows starts it should automatically re-install your audio driver.
After the installation is complete you will want to install Skype. Here is a link to the latest version.
When Skype is installed go to the audio settings once again and verify that your microphone is selected and the volume is set to max.
Use Skype and verify whether or not your microphone is working.
Post the result.
