LR5 Import Issue: Photos do not show in import window

When trying to import CR2/JPEG files into LR5, the import window shows the file folders empty even though I can see the files in windows explorer. I've also importing them from different locations (From the camera, memory card, hard drive) and still shows up blank. The kicker is I can open/import them through canon DPP and LR 4.4.
Here are some specifics of my system:
Tested on Windows 7 64bit
Running administrative account with no permission issues
I've uninstalled/installed LR5 several times which didn't resolve the issue
I've tried importing an upgrade of my existing LR4.4 catalog and also with a new catalog.
I created a video that captures my normal workflow. As you can see, LR5 cannot see any of the photos (CR2 and JPG) from the memory card or hard drive but LR4.4 can see them both with no issues. Any help would be great.

Hi there I am using LR5 on Macbook pro OSX vs 10.9.5. I am attempting to import photos from a folder on my hard drive. I cannot get LR5 to recognise any photographs in the folder. Indeed it will not recognise any photographs in any of my system folders or on my external drive. I have checked for XMP files as I heard they can be a conflict but there are none in my folders. I have attempted importing via different methods including drag and drop onto the LR icon but to no avail. This is confusing as all was working fine until recently. OK...very strange. I had the 'Destinations' tab collapsed. When I clicked to expand it the photos suddenly showed up!
I was attempting to 'Add' photos before (in which case the Destinations is irrelevant) In ''Copy'' or 'Move' the destinations seems to want to be expanded as a tab. Now when I go back into 'Add' the picture imports are working. Thanks for your help and I hope that this might help someone else.

LR 5: Photo edits not showing in main window of Develop module

I just now installed LR5, converting my LR3 catalog to LR5 catalog. Everything seemed to go fine. I picked one photo and converted to the 2012 process. The new sliders appeared.
The problem: Any changes I make are seen only in the Navigator window, not the main window. I figured there had to be a simple fix, but I've scoured the web and can find no one having similar problems. Any ideas?

Ok, I feel a wee bit sheepish. I closed LR and reopened. No more problem. I converted another photo and could see the edits in the main window--without restarting LR.

Event Photo's Not Showing Up

Hi I was just wondering why my Event photos were not showing up in my iPhones photo library. The only thing it list are the Event titles themselves. I remember when there use to be a photo for each event just like in iPhoto. Now the only ones that have photos in front of them are the camera roll and Photo Library it self. Is there any way to resolve this issue. Could this have anything to do with having a Mobile Me account.

One thing that might help out.
If you tap on an event to open it, does any photos show.
One thing you can try is to create a blank album in your iphoto.
Then sync the iphone just to that blank album to clear off any photos that you have synced from the computer.
Then sync a couple of events back to the iphone.

iPhoto does not show last import. When I try to re-import photos from a desktop file it says the photos are already in the iphoto library and cannot be imported. What do I do? I've already re-installed iPhoto 09 and run updates.

Are you saying that the last import is not showing in the last import section of the source pane or is not in the Events in the library window? If you do not see the event then your camera has the wrong date - look in the last import album and find the date and then go to that date in the events - it will be there - if you want you can then slelect the photos and use the adjust time and date command to fix it - check change original files

Try sending them via the Messages app as opposed to E-mail.
E-mail shouldn't normally be a problem, but Messages will do as a soloution.
To do so:
. You need iOS 5
1. Go to your Photo Gallery
2. Open up the album/ images you want to send
3. Press the share button (top right hand corner)
4. Select 'Send as Message' (not e- mail)
5. Select your friends Apple ID from your address book for his iPad
6. Voila!
- it's something along those lines...... my iPad is downstairs atm, but the actual way of doing it will be similar...... !

Why some photos do not show up in the widgets after final export?

Why do I have a problem with the FeatureD News Widget not showing all my photos? I have tried redoing it many times over in different formats and all but one photo never shows up in the final export. Please I need help to finish up the website.

If I understand this correctly, you are reporting that you have images in your Featured News' target frames and some of those photos do not show up in the published site.
If so, I would like you to confirm if the widget works fine in Preview within Muse? Are the images missing in all browsers, even after clearing the browser cache? Can you provide a link to a published site? If required I may also request your source Muse file to investigate further.

Next time you open the photos application hold down both of the keys suggested and then launch the application in the usual way. If you do this you will be presented with the opportunity to repair your library.

Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer.

iOS 7 Calendar does not show appointments imported as VCS files in Microsoft Outlook / Exchange in Windows 7. I discovered this when downloading itinerary.vcs files from Delta to mark flights in my calendar. The work around I found is as follows:
Open the VCS file, this will create a Calendar entry in your Outlook,
Open the created Outlook Calendar entry, go to File -> Save As and then select to save as ICS file.
Delete original VCS-created appointment in your calendar to avoid multiple calendar.
Open the re-saved ICS file.
Appointment will now correctly synchronize with your iPhone iOS 7 calendar.
If anyone has better alternatives to this process, please help out. Hopefully, Apple will fix this with the next iOS update.

Photo does not show up in Adobe Elements

I have a MacBook and have iphoto set up to open the edit with Adobe Photoshop Elements and not with iphot oediting tool. I had version 8 of APE and upgraded to APE 9 - now the photo does not show up in the Adobe window when I try to edit. How do I fix this ?

Most likely you have set the wrong file as the external editor. You don't want the obvious one; that's just a link to the welcome screen. Go back and choose this one, which is hidden away inside the folder Support Files:

Mountain Lion, photos are not showing up in photo stream

I recently installed Mountain Lion, now photos are not showing up in photo stream on the computer. What should I do?

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.
