LSMW - create equipment with class/characterisctic assign

Dear all,
I'm create LSMW with below setup. I would like to create an equipment with class and characteristic assign to it.
There will be 3 upload file to be used. How I can do a linking between Equipment data with Classifcation/characteristic data? Some equipment in upload file may not contain class.
Object: 0400 (Equipment)
Method: 0001 (Create BI)
Program name : IBIP
Data Source structure
IBIPEQUI (Equipment )
|_ IBIPCLASS (Classification)
|_ IBIPFEAT (Characteristics)

I'm using standard batch program. I managed to create equipment. However, I'm not able to assign/link each class/char to each equipment stated in equipment upload file.

Dear Gurus,
Is it possible to create equipment with same equipment No. (external Numbering) in different maintenance plant of same company code?
We have 2 plants, plant 1000 & plant 1100 & the geographlocal locations are different. These 2 manufacturing plants belong to same company code. We have implemented plant maintenance system for plant 1000 & now want to roll out the same system at plant 1100. In plant 1000 we have equipment with equipment No. M323 (External Number). Now we want to create equipment with same no. in plant 1100. How can this be done? or is it necessary to have different no.? please advice.

Dear Friend
As Equipment master data is client specific, you cannot have the same equipment number for same category of equipment, though plants are different.
Yes, you can do it if equipment categories are different.

IE01 Create Equipment with reference

Hello,
I have an existing equipment with an asset# attached to it.
I then create another equipment (IE01) with reference to that equipment. This will automatically bring in the asset# to my new equipment but I don't want.
So, is there any User-Exit or BADI that I can remove this asset value at the point of saving (IE01) or even before that? I have tried with some User-Exits (IEQM0001, IEQM0002, IEQM0003, IEQM0007) and BADIs (BADI_CCM_FULLY_EQUI, EQUI_UPDATE) but it doesn't work.

On Initial Screen IE01 = Equipment Cat
Then In General Screen = Description, and other data optional and required.
Locatin Tab = Main Plant and Location
Organisation = Cost center
Structure = if this equipement is under any other equipment or function location then click on right hand box and mention the fnction location or equipment.
Now you can save.

If you created the screen and insert you parameters now you have:
1- Left click mouse in Program in Se80 and click new -->Pai and create.
2-Left click mouse in Program in Se80 and click new -->Pbo and create.
Now click in screen to See the pbo and PAI
Example.
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
MODULE STATUS_9000.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
MODULE USER_COMMAND_9000.

Create Equipment with same Number rang at Diff Equipment Catagory

Hallo Guys,
client bymistake created some equipments which are actually PRT with catagory M ( Machine)
now they made deletion indicator to that and inactive the part and now want to create same machine as a PRT with same number range interval
as that of made at machine, but as per std system is not allowing to create duplicate records.
How to achive this ?

If no Equipments were created after the Deleted Equipments then you may have an option.
Tcode OIEN
Go to Number range interval, Then the Current number can be changed as under. Reduce this Current number by those many equipments. Then new equipments will have the same numbers of the deleted equipments
You should do it in trial servers and if suits to you then you can decide to go ahead. You should be prepared to have filters in Selection-screes to avoid the DLFL INAC equipments appear in the reports

I am using serial number profile through which the equipment is getting generated along with serial no while doing goods posting.Presently the equipment status is ESTO in the ware house. i want to install it under the functional location. How can i do this.

Issue the equipment through the order
you will issue the material + serial number i.e Equpment through your maint order
When you issue it by 261 against order
Go to equipment master IE02 t code
You will find the status as AVLB
then go & install in the functional location which you want to install
Path IE02-structure tab -change installation location -enter FL

How to create a Business Partner with internal number assignment

Hello,
We are using a CRM 7.0 system. We want to create a new Business Partner using LSMW. We chose IDoc basic type CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M03 to perform it. We want to create it with internal number assignment (we don't have BP ID or BP GUID). Unfortunatelly, when we leave PARTNER_NO and PARTNER_GUID fields empty, we get an error message that we should supply at least BP ID or BP GUID. So what values should we enter in order to create a BP with internal number assignment?
Please put attention that we also don't want to enter any alternative external number because we don't want the end user to see after in the WebUI.

Hello,
Standard CRM PC UI application offers three options when you push 'New' button: 'Person', 'Organization' and 'Group' (combobox appears). In your case, 'Person' should be selected.
p.s. If you don't see combobox mentioned above, it could be security issue.

Hi Experts,
While creating PO for multiple account assignment system is automatically picking 'GR Non-Valuated' check box.After doing a GR no accouning document generated.
How is the goods receipt valuated for a purchase order with multiple account assignment?

It is possible to create PO with multiple account assignment,but you will not get accounting document at the time of GR.it will happen at the time of MIRO,as i have allready explained.
If you will create PO with multiple account assignment for Services,System will generate Accounting document at the time of GR.

Problem with Unknown account assignment with limit order...reply soon...

Hello All,
i am facing problem in confirming the limit order with unknown account assinment.We are using Extended classic scenario with SRM version 5.00 and ECC 6.00. When creating shopping cart with unknown account assignments, shopping carts is getting created fine but when processing goods receipt the system only prompts for distribution by cost center and we do not have the option to selected processing against other account assignment e.g. internal order or network. the Cost center is coming as gray.What i am expecting that as in known account assignment it asks for a drop down and user can select cost center or order the same should happened with unknown account assignment. we have not implemented any badi for the same.
please help me out. Is this a standard behavior of shop with limit order for unknown account assignment where it prompts for cost center only or do i need to implement any badi.

Use Screen variants (Transaction - SHD0) to change item overview and search result screens.
BADI - There is one BADI to hide/show some SC item creation links, there is one BADI to control screen details of PO, CTR... but not SC (and not external screens).
So, as usual, identify the template and change the HTML code in SE80.
To implement a more complex logic, like the default check box, change the ABAP code (usually in the PBO), if required.

How can I get the class(ification) for an equipment with BAPI ?

Hello Experts,
I have created an Equipment with a BAPI. ("BAPI_EQUI_CREATE")
and i create the assignment to a (equipment-)class with the BAPI BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE.
When I use another BAPI BAPI_EQUI_GETDETAIL I get all information to the equipment,
but I don't get the information to wich class is it assigned.
How can I get this ?

As Keshav mentioned you can get the classification data by using BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL
you have to pass the following parameters to it.
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL'
EXPORTING
objectkey = equipment no in your case
objecttable = 'EQUI''
classnum = Class Name
classtype = Class Type

Equipment with no location or account assignment data

Hi experts,
In our solution, we are using equipment records without functional locations or account assignments. Yet I still see records for each equipment in ILOA with a new account assignment number (ILOAN). Is this standard SAP or is there a way (in config maybe) to avoid the automatic creation of these records in ILOA.
EQUZ contains a record for each equipment with a difference ILOAN as well.

Paula,
A new ILOA record is created for the equipment each time you change the Location data. This then used as part of the equipment history (usage list, change logs, etc).
Certain fields can be configured (via IMG) to create new records.
If you don't change these fields, then it won't create new ILOA records. Therefore you will have one ILOA record for each EQUI/EQUZ record.
There is nothing much you can do about this without modifying SAP standard code. And in any case it would be unwise since we do not know the knock-on effects. Nor do you know if you may need this functionality in the future...
Many clients have millions of equipment records, each with multiple ILOA records. This should not affect the system if it is "sized" correctly...

Strings cannot be modified. What this line does:
u.toUpperCase();
is to create a new String object. toUpperCase() returns the newly created string and you are ignoring the returned value. What you want to do is:
return u.toUpperCase();
or
u = u.toUpperCase();

Check while creating PR with account assignment K

Can I put a check while creating PRs for account assignment category K, that only statistical order number range is allowed.
In other words, user should not be allowed to put any internal order other than statistical order in PR, while creating it with account assignment category K..

Hi,
You can check on business transaction RMBA - it's the purchase requisition. Set it to prerequisites and for the validation select the order type (it's better than a number range - I believe you use different order types for real/statistical I/O) from AUFK (you will see this structure as available, when creating a validation). If you do use the same order type, then check on I/O itself COBL-AUFNR.

Unable to create PO with multiple line items through LSMW-BAPI method

Hi All,
I have a requirement of creating PO through LSMW. I can't use LSMW standard batch input program since there are some fileds not available and also it has many limitations. I'm using LSMW-BAPI method ( Business object BUS2012) which create IDOC and uses BAPI_PO_CREATE1 to ultimately post the PO in the system. I am trying to create PO from a single file which contains both Header and Item data.
Now my problem is that everytime PO is being created with Single line item only. Everytime I am giving multiple item data in the source file LSMW is preparing multiple IDOCs for multiple line items. As per my understanding this is happenng since header and item is in the same hierarchy level of IDOC type PORDCR102 and the control record is inserted for every line item in the source file.
It seems that through LSMW-BAPI it is not possible to create PO with multiple line items. Can anybody provide some input regarding this? Thanks in advance.

Solved by myself.
Earlier the problem was that LSMW was not being able to recognize items under same header. It was creating new IDOCs every time it gets a new item. To enable this we need to create two structure HEADERDATA and ITEMDATA. Two additional identifier fields with identifier value 'H' and 'I' should be added in these two structures respectively. Then we need one sequential file with the identifiers field followed by the header and Item data. Example:
H~header data
I~item data
I~item data
This would help the standard program to understand what are the items under same header and ultimately create PO with multiple line items.
